When simplicity wins.
A tiny kiosk on the outskirts of town near the park, run solely by Ali, who serves the neighborhood crowd—the first sign that the food is good.
Phenomenal fried chicken and fries at street prices.
Truly old-school.
Wild boar was wonderfully tender and had a unique taste. I will definitely come back for this. Friendly host who has a nice chat with you and explains the history of game meat. Excellent service and relaxed seating.
It’s Chemistry and Chemical engineering department bar. Very lively on Thursday and can get beers from almost every brand that too for almost grocery store price. Very good spot to hangout after work with friends.
Had a super delicious lunch at this nice place. Worth repeating and we will definitely come back for dinner. 👍 neat and super friendly people. Top tent!
A while ago, I was enjoying a lovely bike ride in the area. Judging by the sky, it was going to rain, so I quickly looked on Google to find a nice café nearby where I could find shelter. We ended up at the Cardinal's Palace. It's a bit of an odd place for a café, but once inside, you're amazed at what you find. A wonderful atmosphere, like coming home. Cozy seating areas, candlelit everywhere—truly romantic. We asked if we could have something to eat because we were quite hungry and the menu looked excellent. Unfortunately, we were told that the chef had called in sick and the kitchen was unfortunately closed. But the owner could make us a toasted sandwich or fried eggs. So we ordered those, and man, I couldn't believe the effort he had made. Lots of vegetables, four eggs, bacon, onions, truly overwhelming. When we asked for the bill, he offered us our drinks on the house because he was so upset that we couldn't have a proper meal. You don't see that anymore in the Netherlands. Honestly, the next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back. It's a truly top-notch place, and the staff and owner are fantastic too. This cafe truly deserves its 5 stars!
