Serious complain !!!!!
Dear Team at Restaurant Supper,
We, Holland Hoisting BV, would like to file our serious complaints regarding the dinner show we experienced on Friday, December 19. 2025 Due to our subsequent vacation, we are only now responding, but the situation continues to trouble us.
What We Booked:
Friday, December 19
6 persons
Dinner à la carte
Table for 6 persons
We indicated that there is an allergy to chili!!
Our Experience:
Table Situation: Upon arrival, there was no table ready, which forced us to sit on the benches. After some time and urging from the manager, a table was eventually set.
Show: The quality of the show did not meet the expectations outlined on your website. This was a major disappointment.
Food: The quality of the served food was very mediocre to poor. None of our group enjoyed it.
Allergy: The specific allergy indicated by our guests was a severe allergy to chili. The consequence of this during dinner was that chili was present in the dish (scallops), despite the prior notification of the allergy. This led to an allergic reaction in one of our guests, causing them to become very ill and necessitating an early end to the evening.
Wine: The bottle of Italian red wine we ordered was served at refrigerator temperature. After complaining about this, we received the same bottle back, but it had been heated in the microwave.
Costs:
Booking costs: € 130
Dinner costs for 6 persons: € 936
Please see the attached bank statement for details.
We reported our complaints directly to the manager that evening. What we now expect from Supper is a substantial compensation for the costs.
Should we not reach a satisfactory resolution, we will be compelled to leave a negative review on various booking sites.
This is the third time I've been here, and each time the service gets worse. The bill was also overcharged for the third time. Coincidence? I don't think so. In a nearly empty restaurant, you barely get any attention from the staff.
There were six of us and we spent a lot each time. You expect at least some service, but the staff doesn't even bother to look at you. You have to wait ages for everything, and when they finally come, the food and drinks are practically thrown on the table.
This was definitely our last time. There are plenty of other restaurants with better service and better food. And guys, do something about that smell in your restrooms; it's unbearable in there.
Really disappointing experience. We placed two very simple orders and waited close to an hour for our food, which arrived cold.
Throughout the wait, there were several occasions where we wanted to order more drinks, but the wait staff were inattentive and often standing around talking. By the time our food arrived, we were rushed to leave as we hadn’t anticipated being there so long and had other commitments.
When paying and asked how everything was, we explained that the wait had been very long and that while the food was tasty, it was cold. The only response we received was, “It was less than 20 minutes - that’s standard,” which was incorrect. We arrived at 11:30am, ordered shortly after, and left at 12:30pm after quickly eating.
The lack of accountability and dismissive response from staff was frustrating. It seemed likely our food had been sitting ready for some time while staff were chatting. Unfortunately, we won’t be in a rush to return.
We ordered hot chocolate (calling it chocolate is an insult to chocolate), showed the waitress that the glass was broken, and she wanted us to use the unbroken part of the glass... it's okay to be rude to customers, but we're not barbarians!!!
Marinucci Roberto
Alfresco area perfect in warmer weather. Gives you a somewhat secluded atmosphere that is a perfect contrast to the normal Amsterdam dining experience. My personal favourite vibe, recommend.
Ate here for the first time today. It was tasty, but not very warm. But the worst part was a woman setting the tables. She dropped cutlery on the floor, then put it on the windowsill, and after putting down the placemats, she simply put the cutlery next to it. Absolutely disgusting!
The waiters were not interested at all, we asked repeatedly, but they didn't even clear our empty plates. We gad to take our own plates from the kitchen. They brought garlic bread to the table, which we didn't order, and although we accepted it, there was no garlic in the bread. Other dishes were moderate, there are far more better places. No need to waste your money.
REPLY TO RESTAURANT: I don't have the receipt cause we paid in cash but we definitely visited your restaurant, we paid exactly 57Euros, for a carpaccio, garlic bread(that we did not order), pizza with shrimp and wine. You had 2 waiters, one tall, one not. The door was not shut , if the person who comes in shuts it properly, so we had to close the door every time a person comes in, because the weather was too cold. We came on 27th of December, the tall waiter had cigarette outside while we waited for service. It's impossible that I made all this up. Hope I could convince you. Instead of asking for proof, you could have simply said "sorry."
This is without a doubt one of the best dim sum restaurants I've ever eaten at! =) A true gem in a less-than-expected location.
You can park nearby for a reasonable price (it's Amsterdam, after all) with Parkbee. There's a parking garage less than a 5-minute walk away.
First time at this location. The ramen was somehow so much better than at Max Eeuweplein; I was pleasantly surprised. The service wasn't great and was very inexperienced, but that's a problem not unique to Wagamama. I'll definitely be back, hoping the ramen tastes the same.
They let me use their washroom when everyone else was making me pay or buy something. The staff all seemed very nice. It was welcoming and they had a lovely menu. Thank you so much :)
