Nice place to have a breakfast, with nice coffee!

Good for my English again 🤗, everyone around here speaks English. Nothing wrong with that. After staying at the women's hostel, I was eager to have breakfast/lunch. Brown toast with avocado and cappuccino with coconut milk and hazelnut syrup. Both were delicious!! I also found the service to be very pleasant and helpful, despite the crowds. Patience is a virtue.

The coffee here is consistently great, and I'm a big fan of their Norwegian breakfast. Service can be a bit hit or miss, the staff appears overwhelmed, but they make an effort to keep things running smoothly, especially Joanne. She remembered my order from previous times and greeted me with a smile and a positive attitude.

You have to order inside and wait at the other counter until your coffee is made. You can, however, help yourself to a cookie, honey, sugar, caramel cubes, etc. You then have to bring it to your table yourself. They will collect it when it's empty. Most of the staff don't speak Dutch, but that's almost always the case these days. Legend 1) Terrible! I advise against it, I'll never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't be back. 3) Okay, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special, nice for a one-time visit. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend it, I'll definitely be back!

This place gets very busy during the lunch break for people working nearby, so if you want a quiet visit, it's best to avoid that time. You order via a QR code. Drinks are announced, and you have to pick them up yourself at the bar. Food is brought to your table. This can cause some chaos and is especially inconvenient for the staff, who constantly have to loudly announce (at least during peak hours) which drinks have just been made, and they're not always attentive. Our drinks were made quickly. The coffee was good, and the lemonade was very generous and mild. The food took a little longer. The toasted sandwich was delicious with the sriracha mayo and ketchup. The blueberry pancakes were a bit dry, but combined with the maple syrup, the dish was perfectly balanced. Now for the atmosphere: I found it very cold inside, and it was incredibly noisy during the lunch rush, making it difficult to hear each other. The staff worked like a well-oiled machine, hence four stars.

The terrace is great, especially when there is sun.

The best coffee in town, I always take a cappuccino with oat. The service is great, I always enjoy to see the friendly faces and willing to serve and have a nice conversation. I work nearby but I recommend to visit this place because the food is delicious too.

My friend and I had brunch here. We ordered club sandwiches and it was balanced and in size of mounth bite. My match latte tasted good too. We had only a small table and when our food came, the staff immediately took another smell table and put it next to our table. The staff was very considerate. : )

Super tasty salmon toast and the bramble was some of the best iced coffee I had in this area 😍 it was so sweet and flavorful (I got it with oat milk)

Dine in for breakfast, we ordered Tuna Melt(grilled cheese) which was good and Norwegian with poached egg served at standard. The matcha latte however a bit disappointed but overall vibe is pleasant.

Cosy little spot near Bijlmer, great for students and young professionals. Personally, I got a "rainbow cake" - pretty yummy - and ginger orange tea to go with it. The drink was just right, not too hot but not cold either, you could really feel the ginger, which imo makes for great tea! Will be returning for sure <3

I had a matcha and a carrot cake. The worst matcha of my life. It was absolutely disgusting, and even disgusting isn't a strong enough word to describe how bad it was...especially considering the price of a matcha... The carrot cake was classic, the atmosphere was pretty good, and the terrace is nice.

I had a cup of coffee recently; my wife and I have been back a few more times since then. They're so good! And the vibes are so relaxing. 💯 A big 5 stars from me.

The mint tea and Watermelon Lemonade (with sparkling water) were delicious 😋.. .I ordered the blueberry pancakes and my husband ordered the wasabi Salmon ... both was amazingly delicious 😋... I would definitely recommend

This is my spot the food is good the chia latte is good.

The food is fine to average and the service is sloppy, with used cutlery all over the place left outside in the sun, with drying mayo on it gross. When I explained that to one of the employees they said Yes they knew and didn't seem to be bothered. When we pay, we pay for a nice area to sit on the terrace and good service so cleanliness and a good service is the least we should expect. Not going there again if they don't clean up. Disappointing!

Terrible service. Over an hour of waiting for avocado toast. No apologies; we almost felt like we were bothering them.

When you go regularly the service gets worse

Came here because I wanted away from my abusive house situation, so I could use some food and decent HUMAN interaction. Barista guy was initially really nice, even charged my Airpods. I ordered eggs benedict as I haven’t had breakfast, but I missed that there was ham on them. When he came to bring my breakfast over, I said I must have missed that, but that I don’t eat meat. He was nice and said: ah, okay, no problem, we’ll fix it. I apologised and he took it away. Then another worker (brown hair, glasses, tall) immediately came to me with the exact same plate. She stood before me, and seemed lost: I clarified that her co-worker already brought the eggs benedict to me and that I already told him I don’t eat meat. She kept asking: “No, did you order this with the QR-code?” I was confused: was she angry I was seated at a table without a QR-code and that I ordered through another table…? So I cautiously replied: “Yes…?” And she then went on to say that ‘it’s not their fault’, because the menu said it had ham on it. At this point I was confused to what she was trying to convey, as her co-worker had said they could easily take care of it. So… was she trying to make sure I wasn’t angry at them? I explained to her that I already told her co-worker that I probably just hadn’t read that part, to which she kept angrily vent at me about how I could have somehow and that “it’s not their fault”. I was very weirded out since I already had said it was because of me… like if you don’t want to take ham off the toast for me and want me to do it myself, this is a bizarre way to make that clear? Like, I just paid €15 for eggs on toast and a bit nice energy, while you get like about as much to be there an hour… be a bit kind or just don’t work in horeca. I say this as someone who is a barista themselves and the girl really has no heart for the game. Her rude conduct made me very uncomfortable and I asked her what her point was. I didn’t understand why she was trying to pick a fight with me, as I already said I hadn’t properly read the menu myself. She rolled her eyes and said she wasn’t picking a fight with me, and then muttered real annoyed to herself that she would take care of it…? Again, the barista guy comes back to me and asks if I wanted something else or really just the same thing without ham. So I say, I really just don’t want the ham, I don’t need anything else or to see the menu, I even apologised yet again. It was obviously easily fixed after that, but the girl didn’t even apologise for her behaviour to me or anything… Some people have real problems and don’t need some international student’s baggage dropped on them at the coffee bar! 😭 I didn’t even feel safe enough to get up, I was just frozen in my seat.

I visit often for coffee and breakfast. Today, I tried the American Deluxe pancakes, but they were dry and dense - more like bread than fluffy pancakes. The replacement had the same issue. Since many others in reviews have also mentioned dryness, I suggest changing the recipe or not advertising as American pancakes (which should be fluffy) to avoid repeated complaints.

It is a little pricey for the options, but the food is fine. The drinks are also ok. However the service is not very good. understandably it was busy due to the Stray Kids concert but waiting 30 minutes for drinks is a little too much. My siblings and I were waiting for our food, two of us got it and one was still missing. The chef came to us and said "I asked you if you had the eggs benedict and you said no" when he never asked us this only our table number, and we hadn't even complained or asked when our food was coming. The cook was also rude to other customers and we saw him yell at the waiters and even nudge one out of his way. He was a classless man.

We went here for breakfast. The iced coffee and mango iced matcha were really good. The acai bowl was still a bit frozen and more like ice cream, but tasted good and the hummus bread was also delicious! The staff was nice and we really liked the interior.

Great coffee from a real coffee machine (not a capsule/pre made) with big variety of milk. Norwegian omlete was great and tasty. Bread was a bit dry but worked well with sauce. Service is very mid: a waitress confused our order. Also the drink pick up system is very weird. If you as a waiter already bring us food, why not to grab a drink too? I guess I will never know… Overall very positive experience!

The pancakes and coffee were nice but it’s just unfortunate the workers don’t care enough to do a quick wipe and sweep from time to time. We had to look for a clean table as most of them had stains and I even received dirty cutlery.

My own order came in incorrect milk/foam/coffee ratio. Milk for a cappuccino was badly frothed, with a lot of bubbles. Not what I am used to from 30ML.

Toilet was very dirty. Trash bin was overflowing with paper towels. Furthermore, the staff is friendly and cheerful.

great coffee in small cups takes a while to get there fromt eh station but a lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy some food & drinks. if i ever have any money to buy it, because unilever beleggingsbank and my cash at brinks is stolen

In itself a fine club sandwich, but €15.50 is very expensive. Quite sparsely topped, 2 or 3 slices of chicken fillet (sandwich topping, so not the ‘fresh’) and was genuinely shocked by the €6.50 they asked for a completely normal small Frappuccino (without whipped cream or extra syrup). Tables dirty, menu also dirty and you have to pick up your order yourself. For this price I really expect more service and quality!

Good coffee, can get loud and packed when full

We are regulars and always get iced matcha with coconut milk and cappuccinos (iced lattes also delicious when the sun is out) and they are both always 10/10! We also love the toast and the sandwiches, favourites are the avocado toast and the Norwegian toast. Always a good vibe and always 10/10 presentation from staff and atmosphere!

The place itself looks very nice and I think very elegant. I ordered a latte macchiato and a brownie. The coffee is drinkable...but not tasty at all (plain latte macchiato). The brownie... it's worth nothing. On a small plate, you get a small brownie cube bought from Lidl. For that kind of money, you'd think you'd be getting a freshly baked cake, not a multi-manufactured frozen or pre-made one.

Ginger tea was very strong: more like a hot ginger shot. Still two stars because we got hot water when I asked for it. Delicious cookies with tea.

Son of owner opened door for my mother on her scootmobiel. Subhan Allah that was so nice of him. She enjoyed the hot chocolate while waiting for her pancakes. And had a lovely cappuccino on top of it. Amazing breakfast experience! Alhamdulillah!

The food was overpriced and mediocre. I ordered the kimchi toast and omelette, but I’d rate the taste a 4/10. The rocket leaves served with the omelette were extremely bitter, which made the dish even less enjoyable. The service was good, but overall, the food didn’t meet my expectations and definitely wasn’t worth the price. Just a place to go if you’re nearby & need a quick breakfast

I've only been here for breakfast so far, but it's always very good and filling, and the ambience is great too.

It is one of the few good cafes near johan cruijff Arena (Ajax stadium). The coffee was very good and so was the muffin. Price is reasonable, and staff is very helpful.

I've passed by many times, but now I just tried it once. It does look cozy inside. Nice seating areas, but very noisy. Dirty menus. No problem ordering at the counter. Food is served at the table. Drinking jugs are tasty, but way too many ice cubes. So little for a lot of money. Pancakes deluxe with apple; way too much sauce and very little apple. Couple of pieces. No apple on the pancakes, just a few mini slices on the plate. Too bad, there is certainly room for improvement here. No details to report in terms of service. Not striking in a positive sense and not in a negative sense either.

Ordered a hot chocolate today. She indicated it was Tony's chocolate. I just saw the man shamelessly pouring chocolate milk from a carton. Just be honest, man. Honesty will get you the furthest!

I ordered a Cortado and it tasted like shit. I will not come back again. The customer service was terrible as well.

Nice setting to eat or drink something.

I was there with my kid of 2 years old for a coffee and brunch. I would not recommend the kids sandwich, in the food section, which was a chocolate bread with small pieces of banana on top. After asking why it was in the food section and not on the sweets, the waiter told me he would ask the manager and never come back to me. Just keep ignoring me it is not very professional.

Should have known...an overpriced sandwich in Amsterdam is not very exciting in terms of taste. It's great that there are English-speaking staff, but it's a shame that if you order in Dutch you just get an angry look because I don't do it in English.

Mediocre food and mediocre service.

Tasty muffins. Croissant with cheese is very small. Self-service, but that is not reflected in the prices. It's a bit dark inside, so if you want to read the newspaper you have to sit by the window, but it's actually too cold there. Tables are often sticky.

The atmosphere was amazing, service was fast and they were very nice. They also do to go boxes as well. The pancakes were a little underwhelming with how small they were but you live and you learn..

It's a very cute little café that my wife and I found by chance. We had breakfast here four times and were very happy each time. The staff are all very friendly and if you don't understand something they will repeat it for you and still remain friendly. Self-service is recommended here; you get coffee and other drinks and the food is brought to your table. It is worth recommending to eat here❤️

We visited the café for breakfast and chose the pancake deluxe, avocado toast, a latte macchiato and a matcha latte. The latte macchiato was a bit too bitter for my taste, which was probably due to the bean used - a matter of taste, of course. My companion, however, found the chai latte a bit too sweet. The avocado toast impressed with fresh and balanced flavors. The pancakes were solid, but the excessive amount of cream was a bit annoying and could have been reduced. Another point that struck us was the very tight seating. Even if you sit close to your own table, you often bump into your neighbors, which reduces your comfort somewhat. Despite these minor flaws, the café is one of the better breakfast spots in the area. Overall, a recommended visit.

Guys, why not take it up a notch and just serve coffee at the table. I think it is such poverty that there are 3 staff and I have to go through the store with two cups of coffee. That can be done differently?! Then I walk back and our lunch is served at the table. So apparently it is possible.

Too few vegan options, staff is not friendly

This café has a special challenge to standout. They have Douwe Egberts just in front, with much more available space, they have Oliebollen stand also in front to compare the bakery and a cheaper pain aux chocolat at LIDL also 50 meters away. What makes me go here for the last 2 years is not a quality they nailed, but a defect you cannot find on the others. It is smallee but a bit cleaner and way much kinder than Douwe Egberts, pastery is a bit expensive but fresher and with more variety than the competition. The overall café is not the best in the world but one of the best options we have and that deserves recognition.

The food is not bad, i wish they didn’t have a self service to order, and that they would clean the tables too. The waiters seem disinterested and they didn’t give me a napkin.

Honestly they are always so friendly, the food and drinks are great. 10/10 recommend.

We live local, vist at least once a month, like the menu, some kid friendly dishes that our 5yr old likes. Juices are nice , decafe and non milks offered I had the train crash sandwich 🥪 tasty . Can order via scanning the link on your table, OK if you don't have dietary needs, Counter staff on 14/9/2024 were friendly and engaging ( well done- hard , as this is a busy place round lunchtime)

Roasting coffee, mixing types of coffee, barista, it's a profession. 30ML masters that profession. Really delicious coffee, a tiny bit of acidity TOP! And that in an attractive location on the square, terrace, hustle and bustle, a great addition to the Amsterdamse Poort.

The service is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is great. It also has a very tasty omelette with bacon that you have to try and probably the best coffee in town.

This place has become a rip off. Over 20 euro for just eggs & oj. Self service. The staff seems to be out of capacity. Wifi is not working. Nobody's helpful. The average price on Google is incorrect. Not sure I will be back any time soon

Generally it’s good, but I just got served fresh veg that is gone off and black. Also self-service means the workers do not clean the tables unfortunately.

I love visiting coffee shops as I travel for work. Stopped in and ordered an Americano, and it was great. Full flavored and great aroma. Also ordered a croissant deluxe, and it too was delicious. Highly recommend visiting if in the area.
