Opted for surprise menu. Pleasantly surprised with 3 delicious dishes. Starter and 2 main courses. I forgot to take a photo of the 2nd main course, delicious (real) meat in mixed grill and rice. This was really filling. Welcoming host and good atmosphere. Recommended!

We have found a gem in Assen! We had dinner here yesterday and were very pleasantly surprised. Arabic cuisine is delicious and fantastic, but at Al Basha this was surpassed. We chose the surprise menu. We had a three course meal prepared with fresh ingredients. Baba Ganoush a Lebanese salad and Labneh. Friendly welcome and great service. The price-quality is very good, you get more than enough food.

Not tasty, dry rice, very simple menu and also too expensive, a waste of my time and money, the chicken kebab was also not tasty and the restaurant was not clean.

What a hospitable welcome! We don't have much experience with Middle Eastern cuisine, so we were advised to try a little bit of everything, all of it incredibly tasty. Excellent explanation about the dishes served, the host/owner regularly came to ask if everything was okay. Highly recommended if you are in Assen or the immediate surroundings.

Excellent food, good quality and tasty. Possible to real Arabic food. Nice service. Take your time, the chef is alone and does his best. Received some nice snacks and a nice glass of tea at the end.

Called up to 3 times! We were lied to three times that the food was on its way. Instead of apologizing, the gentleman was unfriendly and laughed everything off sarcastically! Finally we got in the car ourselves to ask for our money back. Then suddenly the food was long gone (2.5 hours later). The food was sticky, raw, burnt and downright nasty. Never experienced such an unprofessional affair. How was the inspection service not alerted about Al Basha earlier??

The meat is good taste and cooked in a good shape. But the cooked rice is not good I hope the rice is cooked properly next time.

Vanavond wilde ik vis eten, zoals in Spanje, hele vis . Hier is het niet zo makkelijk, overal krijg je visfilet met war saus, niet voor mijn, dus naar al basha gewest, vis besteld, het was een verrassende lekker dorada, beter dan in Spanje, lekker vers gemaakt, heerlijk smaak, Ik vond het eten verrukkelijk lekker.

I just ordered the kozi and it is beyond delicious, the meat is so soft you don’t know if its meat or fat you’re eating. You can wiggle the bones out of it, never had kozi before but it is the best. 5/5 would order again

It has been a while since I enjoyed a dining experience as much as this one, and I don’t think I ever rated one five stars but AlBasha deserves them. Delicious dishes freshly prepared and served with a big smile. Reasonable prices, especially considering the excellent quality of the dishes. No fancy decorations but a cozy and pleasant place to be. This guy does his business proud. Do yourself a favor and dine at Al Basha!

I am very satisfied with the delivery and the quality of the food. Virtually the only restaurant that has several local oriental specialties on the delivery menu: Iraqi, Syrian, Turkish, etc. By the way, I just chose a nice simple one tonight. Kapsalon döner small, enough for an adult. Nicely warm and plenty of meat mixed with just enough potato slices. Raw food in the hair salon is a bit on the meager side, but then it is better to order a salad instead of a hair salon. Surprising to me at least is the pizza with crème fraíche, cheese, Turkish sausage, bacon and mushrooms. So no tomato sauce. Can that be called a pizza, the critics might ask? Doesn't matter, tastes great. Recommended.

Ordered pizza from Al Basha tonight. Was very tasty! The base was crispy and even at the last piece it was still warm. Very friendly staff and nice price for the pizza. To be repeated!

I seldom give 5 stars, but the food was truly excellent. It's was late afternoon so quiet. Plenty of vegan and veggie options. The Baba ganoush was out of this world. Also friendly service and good prices. Highly recommended

On a Sunday evening we thought we wanted something different than standard sushi or pizza. A while ago we walked through the Rolderstraat and we saw that it was busy and it looked nicer than other 'restaurants' in this street. We stepped inside and were welcomed by the boss/cook/service. Have a nice seat. Beforehand we had a delicious lentil soup and a delicious meat and fish dish made on charcoal in the middle of the restaurant. It was really a taste explosion, the lettuce and the food were so delicious, so fresh. This is a good addition to the Rolderstraat with a super friendly boss. And of course a nice cup of tea at the end. Highly recommended if you want something different.
