Gereserveerd voor de 60e verjaardag van mijn man. We kregen een heerlijk zes gangen menu met bijpassende wijnen geserveerd. Stuk voor stuk verrassende, smakelijke en mooi uitziende gerechtjes. De bijbehorende wijnen pasten er goed bij en waren allemaal goed van smaak. Erg leuk dat we geen vaste kaasplank kregen, maar zelf vijf kaasjes konden kiezen van een kaasmenu. De bediening was vriendelijk en alert, zonder opdringerig te zijn. We hebben een heerlijke avond gehad.

Enjoyed the 5 courses. I made a reservation here because we like to enjoy delicious food in a wonderful atmosphere. Based on the reviews, expectations were high and we were curious about the various taste sensations. We were well received by friendly and hospitable staff. What we did miss, but that may be personal, was a bit of a connection. They did their job as expected, but taking some extra time to make a connection was not an option. All dishes looked well prepared and the variety in the courses was excellent. Were they really great culinary delights and were we very surprised with every course? No, unfortunately not. I was in good company, we had delicious food and drinks, but it was a one-off for us. We missed the cozy ambiance and the feeling that we were part of a culinary experience.

In a word, fantastic, from the first step you take inside to departure and everything in between, you are welcomed like a VIP, your coat is taken, the menu and all the wines are explained in a stunning way (next to it there is now also a small wine shop attached to the restaurant). All dishes are a caress on your tongue (not exaggerated) and the great thing is, you don't have to worry about choosing something, they are surprise menus. Of course, this pampering will cost you a little more, but it is better to eat out less and be pampered here. We literally and figuratively "taste" passion for food here and really what appears on your plate is almost art. We were able to try 6 courses for 60 euros through the anniversary promotion. Perfect time to go to the black tie. To give the conclusion first, definitely recommended! Enjoyed it immensely. Greeted friendly upon arrival and treated very well for the rest of the evening. Staff are clearly well trained. The decor is attractive, seating comfort is good, tables are a bit high (and I'm already 1.92m). We really enjoyed the appetizers plus 5 of the 6 dishes. A cheese course is simply not for us. That is our preference, nothing to complain about the black tie and its staff. Apart from the table height, my only complaint is that the time between pouring the wines and serving them was too long for us. Should have been 5-10 minutes earlier. We spent 192 euros for 6 courses, table water, and matching half wines. Price-quality is okay.

Decoration is beautiful, both inside and outside. Funny detail: the stiletto heels that go from the wall to the ceiling, nicely done! That's where it ends. Food & drinks: cocktails are not mixed properly and way too heavily loaded with alcohol. This was indicated with the answer: this is how we make them, would you like something else to drink? Instead of saying shall we remake it with less vodka in it? Or what do you think needs to be changed? (moscow mule) Mint was missing, way too little ice. In short, it didn't work out well. There is no room for conversation even though this should have happened and we are used to this. Bread: (tuscany, tonno, milano) way too much butter on it. It was butter and bread instead of the other way around. Service: giving feedback on the meal (did it taste?) was not appreciated. We were not looked in the eye, but refugees passed us by. When I converse I am used to looking at people. We felt like we might as well have been talking to the wine cabinet. They did take the Moscow mule off the receipt, which is nice. The question while clearing the table: was everything to your liking? was not asked but only during checkout. This already says enough about the quality if you only ask it at checkout. The question should have come earlier and not only when the money has been booked on the other side. We would still pay the bill, but it would seem more graceful if the question were asked earlier instead of afterwards.

Nice atmosphere, nice and quiet. Delicious dishes, balanced, fine flavors and well prepared. The portions are on the meager side for larger eaters. However, the taste makes up for it. Service is good, they are there when needed, they sense what the guest needs and they have ready knowledge. What is striking is that the story behind the dishes and wines is exactly the same at every table. Like playing an MP3. That could be a bit more playful, a bit looser. But the quality (of food) still wins 5 stars. Took photos of the dishes, but they did not accurately reflect the quality, so they were not posted.

We had made a reservation for four people. An hour before the start, one of us appears unable to attend due to personal circumstances. We of course passed this on to the restaurant employees at the start. The evening, the service, the surprise menu and the matching wines were perfect. However, at checkout we were also charged the costs of our fourth person who was unable to attend, under the motto that this was stated in the standard terms and conditions of the catering industry and that otherwise the restaurant could throw away the ingredients of the meal. Chose this restaurant during a holiday in Drenthe to enjoy a luxurious meal. Friendly welcome, cozy seating, very spacious. Opted for a 5-course surprise menu, plus a wine arrangement, with the option of half glasses, nice! The start of 3 appetizers and the bread were a bit disappointing. Okay, but no special flavor explosion like we have had elsewhere. But luckily the 5 courses afterwards certainly made up for it. Beautifully arranged plates, special flavors together, many strong flavors, delicious. Most of the wines were also appreciated. Staff very friendly, sometimes things could be a little looser for us, but that is personal of course. Have a nice evening!

No success. Opted for a 4-course surprise menu, but the only surprising thing was the incredibly long wait between courses. In the meantime, I was already doubting whether I should perhaps order a pizza via home delivery to see if it would be delivered faster than they put the dishes on the table, but ultimately, after 2.5 hours, I decided to leave for the main course. to go. Made a reservation for a 4-course surprise menu, first impression it seemed like a nice place, but this took a completely different turn. After 2.5 hours we still haven't had a main course. There was a 45-minute gap between the appetizers. When we indicated that it was taking too long, the hostess was unfriendly and became passive aggressive. She stated that we as a customer should have indicated earlier that it took too long and that this is very normal to charge an hour for each course. According to the hostess, we should have arranged our evening better, but we came to eat instead of waiting. I wouldn't recommend this, there are plenty of better restaurants in the same price category. You cannot combine an evening out with a movie at this restaurant.

Tonight we enjoyed a 5-course surprise menu at The Black Tie in Assen. The food was of a standard that you normally get in a star restaurant and exceeded our expectations. The price-quality ratio is exceptionally good. In addition to a 4, 5 or 6 course menu, an arrangement with matching wines can also be chosen, but ordering by the glass is also possible. The dishes all looked great and the taste was no less. All parts of the dishes went together perfectly, sometimes with surprising combinations (crab with watermelon, for example). The explanation of the controls was also very detailed. The menu varies per season and this makes it even more fun for me personally to eat here again, which I will definitely do!

The food was delicious, but the aftertaste was very sour. 4 course surprise menu. When we are asked if we want to start with oysters, you assume that it is part of the menu. It was not stated that this was outside the menu and that an additional fee had to be paid for this. When you are asked whether you want a sweet dessert or a cheese board for dessert, you do not expect to have to pay extra for a cheese board. They don't say that either.
