Prima restaurant, het 12 uurtje was uitstekend met een heerlijke kroket. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, mooi lokatie midden in het centrum van Assen. We komen graag terug.

Five of us visited Brownies and Downies yesterday for lunch. The restaurant was stylish and had a lovely, friendly atmosphere. There was ample seating both inside and outside. We chose to sit outside. The staff were attentive and promptly came to take our order. The manager was polite and friendly and offered us recommendations. We decided on the twelve-hour lunch, and the chicken burger, and chips. I especially liked the mustard soup and croquette. My son enjoyed his chicken burger and loved the M&M brownie. The staff checked in on us a few times and cleared any plates and empty glasses quickly. We enjoyed our visit and recommended this inclusive restaurant. Well done to all of the team at Brownies and Downies, Assen 👏

I ate here with my two daughters. All three of them had a delicious meal (the bread was amazing!), and according to my youngest, the poffertjes were even better than Grandma's. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and want to have lunch.

Had lunch here for the first time today. What a cozy atmosphere and lovely staff. The bread board, which was a surprise as to what it contained, was super tasty and more than enough for 2 people.

Came to this restaurant by chance. It was a stroke of luck! Very friendly staff, delicious dishes on the extensive menu, great prices. And even the cup of coffee is lovingly prepared. We will definitely come back and recommend it to our friends. Many thanks to everyone!

Finally had the opportunity to have lunch in Brownies & Downies. Even though it was busy, we were helped quickly by a friendly boy. Our order was delivered quickly. It's nice that a cup of coffee is also served with some whipped cream and water. The lunch plate (from two people) was extensive and delicious. Everything fresh. Friendly and attentive staff. Worth repeating.

Broodje Falaffel is een aanrader voor de lunch. Heerlijk Pitabroodje, de Falaffelballetjes waren erg lekker. Ook hoemoes en andere saus prima van smaak.

We are in Assen TT on Saturday we (pers) wanted to eat there, we asked for the menu card but it was not there due to. TT, we also thought they had a modified menu that was good. Fish and chips were ordered twice, I ordered a burger menu and satay menu once, after it was delivered we were still very disappointed, with the fish and chips menu there were almost no fries in the basket, and there were 4 pieces of kibbeling on the plate, and with the satay menu almost no fries and ok only 5 pieces of meat, the burger menu also almost no fries but the burger was fine. All this was not that bad, but we were shocked by the price we had to pay for it, namely 17.95 per menu. I understand that it is TT, but why ask such high prices?

Nice meal! We had the tasting of four brownies/blondies and a pita bread with warm vegetables. There is a kitchenette and chalkboard for children, nice, but the contents of the kitchenette were lacking. Unfortunately, the placemat for children had just run out when we were there, because coloring at the table is always fun for kids. Excellent service and we were served the food quickly.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food

Beautiful place! We visited Assen the first time back in 2020 and ended up here and loved it. Now in 2023 we were back for a visit in town and from the beginning said that on our final day we would come back here. So we did and we loved it even more! We tried a few dishes this time and on quite a few you could get vegetarian options. We went for Bitterballen (veggie), fries with truffel mayo, nachos vega and an M&M brownie. All the time through our meal my wife said multiple times "All of it is a 10/10 and the nachos are an 11!" The nachos were the best I've had so far with a beautiful cheese sauce and an even more delicious tomato salsa which tasted fresh and sweet like no tomato salsa I've had before! The staff is always attentive and kind hearted and some of the staff does speak english. We love the idea behind this restaurant and hope to see more like this one! We are already looking forward to our next trip to Assen and we'll stop by again. Lots of love from Berlin!
