Helaas was it for ons een grote teleurstelling. This restaurant is present in all Libaneese restaurants, but the food that has the same amount of food is present in your Libanese restaurant. This Caesar salad has more to offer with fat-toushbrood stukjes, so there is nothing more than a classic Caesar salad. This börek leek helemaal none of the other börek. We prefer to eat all the salad on the plate, as long as it takes 45 minutes to eat. Ok was the communication lastig, omdat this personeel nauwelijks Arabicisch of Engels sprak. The shisha was redelijk, but the price is also hot. €15 for a salad, €12.50 for a stewed meal, €10 for a meal and €25 for a shisha with your own pocket. Yesterday we dined at Al Hayat and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, fresh, and the portions were more than sufficient. The prices are also very reasonable, meaning you really get value for money. In addition, the service was incredibly friendly, hospitable, polite, and helpful. You feel welcome immediately and are well taken care of. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely be back again. I live outside The Hague, and today I came to The Hague. The first thing I searched for was the best restaurant in The Hague. Several restaurants came up, including Hayat Restaurant, so I chose it because it felt close and central. On my way to the restaurant, I bought a coffee from Starbucks. As soon as I arrived, they asked me to throw the drink outside or drink it first before going in. Thank you for the terrible service! I hadn't even ordered anything, eaten, or drunk anything yet. If you greeted me like that from the very first word of hello, shame on you! So, it's a shame that this restaurant isn't among the best restaurants in The Hague.

Today, I dined with my family and a friend and his family at Restaurant Al Hayat, located at Fluwelen Burgwal 3B, 2511 CH The Hague, in the city center of The Hague. We visit here often and usually appreciate the homemade, fresh taste of the food. This time, however, our experience was very disappointing. I ordered the “Al Hayat spareribs” (the dish named after the restaurant), but the portion was considerably smaller than before and in proportion to the price. Moreover, the spareribs were burnt, very dry, and had hardly any flavor, except for a strong spiciness. Normally, you expect spareribs to be juicy, tender, and well prepared. I first reported this politely to the waitress, but received the response that this was “normal.” Because I was hungry, I ate a small portion, but the meat remained dry, thin, and burnt. I then indicated again that I was willing to pay for the dish, but that I wanted to speak to the chef or the owner. This was refused. Even when I asked to have the dish taken back to the kitchen so the chef could assess it himself, I received the answer: “This is what we have.” I found this response unprofessional, and unfortunately, I received no form of apology whatsoever for either the poor quality of the food or the service. ( Qozi was very tasty ) Additionally, I would like to mention that during my previous visit, about three weeks ago, water was added to the bill even though I had not ordered it. My girlfriend and I went out for dinner here recently and we have mixed feelings. The starter, Tzatziki with naan bread, was very tasty. But the main course was unfortunately a bit disappointing. We ordered the Al Hayat kebab and Mix grill, but the meat was a bit burnt and lacked much flavor. On the other hand, the service was very good—very friendly, welcoming, and the food arrived quickly! The restaurant was beautifully and cozily decorated with paintings, lamps, and authentic Arabic items.

Ate here today and had a very worrying experience. I'm five months pregnant and ordered a mixed grill. With the last few bites, I discovered the chicken was noticeably pink and undercooked. To my horror, we'd already eaten the rest of our two chicken skewers before realizing this. When I approached the staff, they told me it wasn't "that bad" and that "nothing would happen." I found this response irresponsible and unprofessional, especially considering the health risks during pregnancy. No sincere apology was offered, and the problem was downplayed. As "compensation," only the drinks were deducted from the bill, but we still had to pay for the chicken skewers. This is completely disproportionate to the seriousness of the situation. Serving undercooked chicken is already serious, but the way it was handled means I won't be returning. Hopefully, food safety and customer focus will be taken more seriously in the future.

We tried couple times the mezas, main dishes, and desserts, everything tastes really good. Much recommended. As for the Shisha, I think they have one of the best shishas in the Netherlands!

We arrived at the busiest time, luckily there was still a table available. Very friendly staff. The food was incredibly delicious. It might be strange to say, but the portions could have been a bit smaller so we could have ordered more. We'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

An Unsavory Experience That Justifies Every Avoidance My recent visit to Al Hayat was utterly disappointing and left a deeply negative impression. It felt as if it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in weeks, which is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant. As for the food, it was simply inedible. The dishes lacked any flavor and seemed prepared with utter indifference. The quality was lacking, and the texture of some ingredients suggested they were long past their prime. This was a culinary insult and far below what one would expect from any restaurant. On top of this disastrous experience, the staff was exceptionally unfriendly. There was no trace of hospitality or service; I felt more like a burden than a welcome guest. Questions were answered curtly, and complaints were ignored. It's clear that customer service is not a priority here. All in all, I can honestly say I don't recommend Al Hayat. Save yourself the trouble, the money, and the disappointment. There are countless other places where you can enjoy good food and pleasant service. This experience was a complete disappointment, and I will never return.

Even the *starters* were a dream: - The *Baba Ganoush* was wonderfully creamy, smoky in taste and perfectly seasoned. - The *Koba Makli* – beautifully crispy on the outside, wonderfully hearty on the inside with minced meat, bulgur and fine spices – simply fantastic. The *main course* continued the same way: - The *Chicken Tagine* was tender, juicy and flavored with a great mix of herbs, olives and vegetables. - The *lamb tagine* was my personal highlight - buttery soft meat, combined with sweet dried fruits such as plums and apricots - a real taste explosion! - The *Shish Tavuk* was also great – perfectly grilled, spicy chicken skewers, nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. - For the children there was *breaded chicken strips with fries* – fresh, crispy and also great in taste. I've tried many hookahs in Den Haag, but Al Hayat has the best ones. The food is also amazing (I love their kunefe). The atmosphere there is very nice, all the people working there are very friendly. And bonus, the guy making hookahs is very cute. Will come back definitely

Ate here two weeks ago with my mother. We ate Iraqi kabab. It was very tasty. But we were throwing up all night. We were very ill for a few days. Apparently the quality of the meat was not good.

It is an Iraqi restaurant, they are clean and look neat, the employees are very unprofessional, you have to repeat it 10 times and they still forget it, if you see something that is correct and you report it to them, the owner, who has a lot in his mind, walks by as if he works in a French culinary restaurant, you will not get fries on your plate in a culinary restaurant. The tenderloin I had on my plate for €29.50 took some searching on my plate, normally you have to ask how many grams your customer wants. At €29.50 you should get a double portion. Mezze's were tasty, the best I have eaten so far.

Truly a very positive experience. The food was super tasty and beautifully served. The employees were very polite. You can park your car opposite the restaurant in the Q-park parking garage, which is very nice since it is in the center. They also have a very smart system where you turn a light on your table and an employee will immediately come to your table. So no fuss with making eye contact and waiting for a waiter to walk by! The atmosphere was really nice, it's a really nice vibe there. Lots of antiques and cultural decoration. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I will definitely come back here again!

Best Iraqi/Kurdish restaurant in The Hague

We wanted to have an Iraqi dinner, so we chose this restaurant. The only thing that was good when is comes to food was the lentils soup. The mixed grill was not that good, and the Qozi with bamia wasn’t good at all, especially the meat it felt like it was cooked the day before, like spoiled, we couldn’t eat it. The atmosphere was not very nice for us. The only thing I liked was the lamp system on the table. As for the staff, the cashier wasn’t very nice. We felt like we couldn’t criticise the food we bought with our own money. And she even didn’t deny that the meat was not cooked the day before, which made us even more concerned. Last time for us in this restaurant.

First food was not warm second I had clearly indicated I can not eat sweet so no sweet sauce or sweet marinated meat but what do I get sweet food and I had to explain about that several times Well so I did not eat. Third I ask for the bill and on the bill it says meat that I did not eat I still have to pay ok still, that is rude or not, sorry you are not going to let your customer pay for what she did not eat you should behave normally that is not how you keep customers

I went with my friends, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Despite the Google listing saying they were open until 11 PM, we were told they were closing at 10:30 PM. The manager was quite rude, and when we tried to order shisha, they refused to let half of our group sit at a separate table. It wasn’t the welcoming atmosphere we had hoped for.

High quality Lebanese food in somewhat impersonal surroundings. It isn't really an intimate place, the place is huge, and asking for service means turning your table lamp. So the atmosphere is so-so. But the mezze platter for two and the kebab was excellent.

I've never visited a restaurant and they couldn't change for the customer what he wants, i told her you can charge me what i need to change but i don't want to throw rice, i will not eat rice!! she said i can't do anything.
