A nice place to eat, and a particularly calm one too. Everything has a lot of taste, and I recommend the tajine because the protein has an appreciable texture and consistency when you eat it. Overall, I recommend it if you are vegetarian or don't want to eat meat and happen to be in Den Haag.

Cozy place, nice workers and Simão (one of the workers) suggested the falafel option which was really good! Coming back for sure!

Tasty, surprising and not expensive.

We had a very tasty meal here. Hummus, various flatbreads, eggplant and salads in individual keys. The price-performance ratio was okay. As vegans, we were given very good advice and service.

Tasty dishes. We had 2x the surprise and 1x fried eggplant. Everything was equally tasty, and the pittas were fresh too. Clearly home made recipes prepared and served by three nice ladies! The map was not very clear, so it was difficult to make a choice. But when we heard that you could indicate which main course you like in the surprise and that it will be included, our choice was quickly made. What was a small disadvantage was the cold. We sat on the window side and it got colder as time went by. It is better not to sit on the window side in winter. A wind curtain at the door would also help

The food was delicious. The pita’s were nice and warm and really fresh. The hummus with vegetarian meat was absolutely divine. Couldn’t stop eating it! The meal salad with halloumi was to die for with a delicious spicy sauce with sumac and perfectly cooked aubergine. The staff were really nice and helpful but never intrusive. Great place!

Very tasty food. Service was slow (we waited 45 mins for our food) but the only waitress was friendly and trying her best to serve the whole restaurant. Atmosphere is ok, the plants could use some TLC and some improvement on the decoration would help with the coziness.

2025-01-21 Review Restaurant HUmmUS The Hague #ilovehummus Tired from a long car trip - strolling in the early evening through an atmospheric street in The Hague - looking for a place to eat - we stop in front of a large window with an inviting empty table just behind it. Yes, we can still reach it, the table still needs to be cleared, there are not enough hands, but we are certainly welcome. . . an Italian waitress tells us in friendly English. The restaurant is indeed full. The atmosphere is bright and relaxed. It seems like there is an undercurrent of 'together'. And then I discover on the map that we have ended up in a vegan restaurant called HUmmUS. Forty years ago I lived here in The Hague, on Prins Hendrikplein at the end of this street. It was a working-class neighborhood at the time, somewhat neglected and not very pleasant on the street at night. Today we are on our way to a festive reunion in that same house on this square. Only now we walk across a festively lit square, a central place for local residents with room for nightlife in the beautifully renovated buildings around. I even feel free and safe here… What I really like: that we are having a delicious vegan meal in HUmmUS tonight, and that we are then spending 2 nights in a hotel on Prins Hendrikplein with a view of all those beautiful trees in festive lights and of 'our house' for the upcoming party. It feels so wonderful to be able to eat, sleep and celebrate a weekend of partying at ease after a day of traveling! Even our car is in a small parking garage diagonally opposite HUmmUS. What more could you want, my love!? And . . . - What about the food in HUmmUS? Delicious and healthy too! - the service? Very personal, with great care and time for a chat and a laugh! - the atmosphere? So at ease. . . An excellent start to a weekend away! - the price!? Oh well, I don't even know. I saw my husband smiling as he paid and cheerfully walked me outside into the cold winter evening. Just a quick walk to our hotel. . . Update January 2025: They still have very good, freshly made food. I love the Kapsalon and Köfte Kebap. The interior is very green, tables still feel a little small for the amount of food, and I always end up sitting with a plant in my hair, but I don't mind. Service is friendly and accommodating. #ilovehummus Very good middle eastern inspired food. I can recommend their Kapsalon and vegan Shawarma. Portion sizes are good, and almost everything is vegan. Service is friendly and helpful, but there was only one person for a full restaurant. The atmosphere is okay, tables feel a bit small, it is not very homey.

we had a lovely lunch at HUmmUS! the food was delicious, very well flavoured. the sweet potato fries were especially lovely. they had the perfect crispness and came with a homemade sauce. we also got the fried cauliflower and hummus. we also had a lovely verbena tea. the staff was also extremely friendly and thoughtful. he suggested things to help our order choices and was very kind. highly recommend! #ilovehummus

Very tasty food, excellent service, but.... I suddenly saw a mini Palestinian flag on the website in the logo. I hate it when a restaurant gets involved in politics. Especially if you support a terrorist organization. As long as this flag is in the logo, I advise everyone against eating here.

We loved that place! The atmosphere was great, the food amazing and especially the waitress was so kind, helpful and had a very calm energy.

The hummus is delicious. We liked the falafel, showarma (which is veggie) and the veggie kebab. Small place, better to book a table ahead.

Delicious meal at Hummus, good atmosphere and good service! The only disadvantage was that it was very cold inside due to single glass and draughts, so you prefer to leave quite quickly and at a table next to us someone even had his coat on.

Hummus in The Hague is a great restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. The dishes are fresh and tasty, with the babaganoush an absolute must – full of flavor and perfectly prepared. A nice place for lovers of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine flavors and hospitable service!

The restaurant is in a great location, and has very nice indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is extensive, the portions are a good size, and the price is reasonable. The food is delicious; we have been here three times and tried a lot of the menu, and have never had a bad meal. The only downside is the service: they are very friendly, but they are almost never around and each time we have eaten here we waited 30+ minutes (on one occasion, almost an hour) for them to take our order or remove our plates. Since this has happened on all three occasions, I'm assuming it's a norm here (although maybe only during the dinner period?). Certainly not a dealbreaker, but something to consider if you're in a time-crunch.

My mouth watered as I described the food in my review. Shakshuka, hot honey eggplant dipped in hummus and fried cauliflower…all first class… One of the best Mediterranean food in the country. Definitely would go there again!!!

Had a wonderful meal at HUmmUS last night! We were immediately helped in a friendly manner by the staff and there was a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered several dishes to share with 3 people and it was on the table within a short time. The food tasted so good that we ate every plate completely empty (despite our full stomach😉). I definitely recommend this place! Especially if you are not very familiar with Middle Eastern cuisine, you can get acquainted with dishes such as hummus, dolma, tagine, etc. in an accessible way. I am also very satisfied with the price-quality ratio. Since we shared everything, I rarely see these prices for “shared dining” these days. Final verdict? Nice for a date, a nice evening with friends or to simply pick up😊

Delicious food even if they only serve vegetarian dishes. You'll have tastier dishes here than in many other places, asking for another of those fluffy pitas to scrape out the last bits out of the food bowls.

The food was incredibly tasty and the service was very nice! She patiently answered our questions, was open to our requests and food restrictions, and was very attentive! You'll definitely get your money's worth here if you're vegetarian/vegan, and in my opinion the price was appropriate for the location/quality.

Almost 50 euros for picking up 2 small containers of hummus and muhammara that tasted of nothing. I had indicated that I needed hummus for 6 people, the employee said that 2 containers would be enough. Pure rip-off, really scandalous!

Had a sampling of many dishes and all were tops. Sweet potatoe fries may not be middle eastern but they were great. The homemade rose raspberry lemonade is a must. Loved it all!

Anyone who is a fan of vegetarian food will feel very comfortable with hummus. The plate with a little bit of everything is particularly recommended. The taste is great and it's nicely prepared and you'll be satisfied and satisfied. The young ladies in service were very friendly, committed and accommodating. You feel comfortable there as a guest. Definitely recommended!

Went after a while and really enjoyed the new atmosphere and freshly prepared food. Couldn’t decide so we went for the “platter” with 6 varieties. My fav was the good old humus and falafel with home made pita bread. Washed it down with nice local summer beer. Unfortunately they had run out of special vegan cakes😢😢😢

Had a very nice meal here! The menu is varied with both large and small dishes and many vegan options. The service is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is small but not too noisy. The light could be a little more atmospheric.

A solid place with tasty, healthy food at a reasonable price. Falafel salad was good, as was combo meal that includes 2 salads, hummus and pita. The sweet potatoes fries exceeded my expectation, with crunchness and full flavor Great, friendly service. Would definitely come back.

They reduced the amount of portions over time which is not nice at all. I wish they had done it with amount of sale they put in their food! I don’t recommend the place for people with delicate taste buds, healthy diet( which you should put on pause anyway in any restaurant) and to people who look for divers tastes in a restaurant cause here everything tastes the same!

We had an amazing time at HUmmUS. It almost felt as if we been there multiple times before: it felt warm and cozy. Our staff was very very accommodating and extremely friendly and patient. The food was amazing and rich in nutrition. The restaurant offers plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. There are also gluten-free options available, for example, a gluten-free pita bread. If you are visiting the Hague, please go there and have lunch or dinner (for dinner you should probably reserve a seat).

Actually not that great, we kept making excuses for them all night, trying to justify their weird business model. You have to order random stuff if you're a bigger group of people and you get only one pita for a bunch of dishes that you dont choose yourself, a lot of downtime and a lot of hungry stomachs. Probably good for smaller groups or dates. Staff were great too. But if you go there for great middle eastern/turkish food, don't; It has the foods from those countries, but it simply lacks the soul that you'd expext

HUmmUS is een echte aanrader! Wij namen een combi van falafel met slaatjes en pita, zoete aardappel frietjes en de gefrituurde bloemkool. De falafel was lekker vers, zachte bloemkool en heerlijke hummus. Super vriendelijk personeel en een gezellig plekje. Wij hebben genoten!

Ik was al fan van Hummus Delft, maar ook de vestiging in Den Haag viel in de smaak. Vriendelijk hard werkend personeel en natuurlijk heerlijke gerechten. Ligt in een leuke hippe wijk.
