Alfredo's Taqueria in Rotterdam Centrum

This restaurant has been, without a doubt, the best Mexican food I have ever had in the Netherlands. Every dish is a testament to authentic flavors, high-quality ingredients, and the passion of the people behind it. From the perfectly homemade beans and salsa, to the flavorful meats, and crispy chips every bite has felt like a little trip to Mexico. I’ve had so many amazing meals here, I still can’t believe it’s coming to an end. To the team: Thank you for all the unforgettable flavors, for setting the standard so high, and for making so many people (including me) incredibly happy with your food. I’m heartbroken to see you go, but beyond grateful for every meal I got to enjoy here. If you’re reading this before they close, do yourself a favor—go, eat, and savor every bite. It truly doesn’t get better than this!!! 🤗

Tasty but way over priced. Portions are quite small for what they charge. Paid 20 EUR for four tiny tacos.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality and quantity of food here compared to what they charge for it. Absolutely not worth it. Even the cocktails were very disappointing and lacked any character. The two stars are mostly for the nice ambience and friendly staff.

I am really reallyyy shocked by the prices in comparison of the portions of this restaurant.. I got 2 small quesedillas with ONLY cheese inside and it was €16?? I know inflation is happening and things like that but even this does not fit nowadays prices. It tasted good but.... it said that there was more inside the quesadilla than only cheese. So basically it was just bread and cheese😅 Sooooo if you wanna be full and get true for your money , this isnt the right place. Find another Mexican place. Also, in the end they wanted to almost 'scam' us with water on the bill that we did not order. But ofcourse, this could be also a mistake :)

Food was great, but unfortunately the service made a mess of it. Dishes not ordered that came to our table several times, dishes ordered that did not arrive... Received churros at the store as compensation.

This place gives you the feeling of Mexican vibes. The food rivaled a meal straight from Mexico!! 🇲🇽

The Margaritas were tasty, and the Nachos with all the toppings and extra beef were quite good as well, except for the cheese, which tasted a bit off—not really the type of cheese you'd expect with Mexican food, like cheddar. However, I thought maybe that's their thing, using Dutch ingredients, and it might be intentional. The fish tacos were really disappointing; I was expecting something fresh, like ceviche or marinated fish, rather than breaded fish that resembled kibbeling. As for the chicken quesadillas, we found the cheese way too overpowering, and again, not very flavorful. Everything is too mildly spiced for Mexican standards. The salsas were tasty, though. The guac was good as well, but the portion was incredibly small for €4. Compared to the other salsas, this seemed very strange. Overall, it’s a nice place to hang out with super friendly staff who make delicious cocktails, but if you’re expecting authentic Mexican tacos and nachos with bold, spicy seasonings and typical long-marinated flavors, I’m afraid you’ll be left wanting more.

Staff was kind and food was delicious , good cocktails, very good tortilla soup… unusual take on some dishes like adding cheese to mole or deep frying quesadillas, but still yummy. We also ordered take out and portions were super well served.

Lived in Mexico for two years so I know what they should be like. The tacos were pretty good. But the price is excessive. €6 for a taco! €6-8 for a quesadilla, €12.50 for a not particularly large bowl of nachos, and to top it all off: €3.50 for a carafe of tap water!

The tacos are absolutely amazing, especially the beef! A bit pricey, but nonetheless I highly recommend this for a date.

25-10 naar dit restaurant geweest. We wilden de rekening controleren en de kleine vadsige kelner maakte een denigrerende kleinerende en vooral hoorbaar geluid. Hem daarop aangesproken en hij loog dat er iets ad hand was.

Op zaterdagavond zijn wij gaan eten bij Alfredo's Taqueria. Leuk ambiance en vriendelijke bediening. Het eten zelf is wat minder. De Taco’s zijn erg klein voor de prijs. We hebben de Taco’s Al Pastor genomen; vlees was smakeloos en super droog. Ook de Tacos Barbacoa genomen, vlees was mals en sappig, maar wederom smakeloos. Jammer!!

Food fine, but very poor service. Waiting endlessly after ordering. After ordering dessert, we waited more than 30 minutes and it turned out that this order had not gone through; and the desired desserts are also not in stock. Lots of room for improvement

I love their terrace or “Secret Garden”, I only tried the tacos al pastor but they are very good and the best thing is that the sauce is spicy 👌🏻 another thing I loved is that they have beers from Mexico. Thank you!!

Took my Mexican friends here who doubted it was possible to have authentic food in the Netherlands. Now they want to go there whenever we visit.

As a Mexican I expect a lot from my traditional food. It was a bit over-priced for what the sering sizes were. The taste was good but not 100% authentic. I am not sure if I would go back.

Very nice Mexican restaurant with a cozy terrace. The staff was very friendly and the food really delicious. The portions are a bit on the small side compared to the price.

I've tried several mexican restaurants in the Netherlands and this one was very disappointing unfortunately. Aside from very high prices, the tacos had way too much spicy sauce. I love spicy food food, but it overpowered the flavor of the filling (which I think would have been quite good) and had little depth to it. Margarita zero was basically just an overpriced lemonade. On the other hand the staff is very nice and the terrace is a lovely place to sit.

Diner and drinks with a group (15) friends. Super friendly staff, great service, good drinks, good food. Ordered too much food and cancelling on time was no problem! Definitely recommend! We had beers, couple starters and 2-3 tacos each and spend €32.

The atmosphere is lovely, feels like your no longer in the Netherlands when you dine there. The chicken mole tacos, though a bit pricey for the portions, were incredibly flavorful and perfectly spicy. The sauce was rich and the chicken well seasoned so the pricing worth it in my book. The elotes were great and the chocolate brownie was a pleasant balance of flavors sweet, nutty and fruity to end the meal on a high. The Jamaica drink was great as well, not to syrupy sweet or not too bland. The staff were all warm, welcoming and accessible which made the experience seamless and relaxing.

The combination of staff, food and drinks makes this the place for a perfect evening with friends, your soulmate or even by yourself. I would go here for breakfast of they would serve it. Mexico in Rotterdam ♥️♥️♥️

Admito que era escéptico sobre la comida mexicana en Rotterdam en un restaurante llamado Alfredo’s. Me quedé impresionado por la comida y el personal. El restaurante es un lugar muy lindo con un personal increíble. ¡La comida, yum! Vivo en México a tiempo parcial y esto va allí con la mejor comida mexicana que he probado. Me encantan los chilaquiles y los de Alfredo’s son geniales. Mi hija tenía tacos de birria y le encantaban. Mi marido devoró su burrito. Las cervezas estaban heladas. Sin duda recomendaría una comida aquí si te encanta la buena comida mexicana.

Nice place overall—the food is good, and the service is great (the staff is very friendly). However, it's quite pricey considering the portion sizes... 3 tacos cost around 17 euros, which seems outrageous to me. Also, while I do love spice, the tacos were smothered in it rather than just having a drizzle. Additionally, for those who prefer milder options, there’s only one non-spicy taco choice available. The cocktails were great though!

Extraorbiant prices for mediocre tacos. Up to 8 euros per taco

One of the dishes came after everyone else had already finished eating, didn’t even get an apology. Like mistakes happen, but at least be proactive about it. No compensation. The tacos were tasteless and cold and very tiny. Atmosphere is nice tho.

The meal is affordable and really delicious. Very important, you find staff here who speak other languages other than Dutch. Clean environment, clean toilet,...

I thought I would order a good taco from Alfredos Volt, but what I got was a taco only with cheese and nothing else on it And that for almost 20 euros for 3 tacos doesn't seem entirely appropriate to me The cheese was also rock hard and we both immediately had stomach problems So as a tip, don't order here

The atmosphere at Alfredo's taqueria is quite nice but everything else is disappointing. We were expecting good food but each got three, sad, tiny tacos for almost 17€. Everything was quite flavorless. One of our dishes also wasn't complete, when we mentioned it they didn't offer anything I'm return, so we had to ask for it. All in all, wouldn't recommend it.

Rotterdam (and in fact the Netherlands) is not always known for its abundance of authentic Mexican restaurants. There is Taqueria Lima at Foodhallen (hopeless) and Texican (Westkruiskade, excellent). We are very lucky to have Alfredo's right in the heart of the city. Fantastic all around! Highly recommended

Such a must visit if you visit Rotterdam and to be honest a must visit regularly if you live in or around Rotterdam. The food is great, the people are amazing and super friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. Perfect spot to hang out, have food and drinks.

What a rip off. E17,- for 3 small tacos that I reckon weigh around 250g combined. No match for a good E3 street taco. Although fairly generous with meats, the taste was very underwhelming. Chicken bland, no exciting texture in the taco at all since it was quite large chicken strips with mole and very teeny and little garnishing. There's no connecting garnishment in between of those smooth chicken strips and thick mole, to my taste. The funghi burrito was a lot better, good taste, good texture, nice volume and frankly - ok price. Personnel was too active removing things from the table, was a random collection of people resulting in interchangeable and non personal approach. Although fries were listed as an appetizer, I wonder if there's anyone who eats a bowl of fries before the main dish so I'd suggest asking whether it's meant as a side or an appetizer at the least. So, we ate lukewarm fries as our tacos came 5mins after. Before I forget: fries are E6,75. Yes, there's classic tastes on the menu and I'd give them the benefit of the doubt regarding ingredients, but that is by no means a guarantee for a good dinner experience. This is quite firmly put although the food wasn't..."bad", but I think it's because we expected rich, tasty street style food for a fair price but ended up spending almost E70 (2p, 2 drinks each, no dessert) walking out the door not even remotely indulged, wondering where the money went.

Nice staff, nice colorful decor, tasty food. Toilet was neat, drinks were nice and fresh. But I really couldn't bear to stay there for long, I wanted to leave right after a bite. The music was way too loud to talk and the chairs were very uncomfortable. I would have liked the fries, but the staff indicated that they were fried in the same fat as the fish (I had to ask). That is not vegetarian friendly. Left hungry.

Good food, pretty authentic for benelux

Nice restaurant with a garden that is probably very nice in the summer. Fast friendly service, tasty and flavorful corn tacos, mocktails and many types of mezcal. The burrito is a huge meal in a thick roll, including rice and pickled veggies. Recommended: the tacos with plantain and red cabbage.

If you like some great corn taco’s and nice tequila to go with it, this place has you covered on both. I had the vegan el pastor and it had a nice spice to it. The horchata was nice refreshing and sweet. The tequila had a nice sweetness and kick to it. But the best thing were the people working there. Nice smile and helpful. Definitely would go again.

Top restaurant en vriendelijk personeel.

Lekker eten (vooral de kroketjes en de mais). Kleine porties (bijvoorbeeld de tacos). Een hoofdgerecht lijkt goedkoop maar moet worden aangevuld met voor/bijgerechten om voldoende te vullen. Daarom ook vrij prijzig: ik was 160€ kwijt voor een gezin met twee kinderen (met voorgerecht maar zonder nagerecht) en dat vind ik een flink bedrag voor in de basis simpel eten. Aankleding is sfeervol en rommelig. Engelstalige bediening.

Service and atmosphere was good but there’s no flavor in the dishes. The meat or salsa aren’t tasting anything. Nachos and the visuals were nice. Some of the best mexican food we've had in a long time! I loved how they don't shy away from spice, everything was so full of flavour, fresh and creative. Delicious cocktails, great selection of vegetarian options, everything was wonderful! We will absolutely come back!

Three stars, mainly due to poor service. Couple things to note: bartender made a weird joke about the name on the reservation. Unnecessary, quite lame too. Took quite some time before we even had a menu and it was hard work to get the attention from staff. Seems there's no real system in place. Shame, because the food was quite nice (just very expensive for what you get). Hard to recommend, but maybe we just had bad luck.

As soon as we entered, the bartender who checked our reservation made a really strange comment about how complicated my name was. When my partner confronted him, he laughed it off as nothing. Not only was it very unwelcoming but it was also my birthday dinner and it was just such an unnecessary buzzkill at the beginning. When we sat down, it took some time to get the menus, but that’s still ok. The most difficult thing was getting the staff’s attention to order the food and drinks. We went on a Saturday night - the garden was fully booked but barely any of the inside tables were occupied, so it didn’t seem like they were fully booked. The food is really overpriced for the size of the portions. The food tasted good so that was the only silver lining. But that’s not good enough to make me go back, I’m afraid.

Three stars overall for several reasons. The tacos are delicious, however overpriced (~5€ per taco), so if you are hungry taco's are not the option. I had a burrito as well, but it was just okay. What annoyed me the most was that when I was about to pay I realized we where charged 7€ for 0.7L of still water - which I find completely unreasonable. I would definitely not recommend, there are better options in the city.

The best Mexican food I've had in Europe, it was delicious

Het eten is prima, maar aardig aan de prijs en ook weer niet fantastisch. Sfeer is goed, maar service verschrikkelijk. Zo kan je hier bijvoorbeeld niet eens met (gepast) contant geld betalen. Al met al dus met een negatief gevoel weggegaan.

Ambiance and service were excellent but the food and soft drinks were expensive for their size and flavor. I'd say it was "watered down" for what I am used to with Mexican food. I wouldn't go back without a very compelling reason.

Such amazing Mexican food. The Al pastor, fish, and hongos tacos were standouts. Churros we’re also great. I felt like this rivaled some of the Mexican places I’m used to in California. Skip the burritos though - they weren’t very good. The waitresses were all really nice, but honestly the service was so slow. We were there for over 3 hours which was a bit exhausting.

Op aanraden van een vriend naar Alfredo’s gegaan en wat een leuk restaurant! Zeer leuke entourage, ik verwacht ook dat je in de zomer op het terras lekker kan borrelen. Personeel was vriendelijk en het eten lekker. Ik hoop binnenkort weer een hapje te kunnen eten hier.

Heel leuke sfeer. Buiten tuintje met heerlijke muziek. Wel meer verwacht omdat het goed aangeschreven staat op de tripadvisor, maar helaas viel de smaak tegen. Wij hadden vooraf een maiskolf dat was lekker, daarna kleine tacos van beef maar helaas was de vlees erg flauw. Het hele gerecht was daardoor echt niet lekker. Als laatst hadden wij nachos met avocado saus en beef dat was ok. Voor ons helaas niet voor herhalling vatbaar. Omdat het tegenviel hebben wij niks meer besteld. Gedronken en weg gegaan. Porties zijn prima.
