Nice restaurant near the Cube Houses in the heart of Rotterdam. Easily accessible, fast, friendly service (sometimes English-speaking), and tasty food.

Nothing special, expensive for the quality, but the location is nice. It gave me the feeling of a random dude who flown in Mexico, love the food and decided to do it here by himself. You can find better in my opinion. Also, long waiting time overall and expensive drinks.

Nice spot with a terrace on the waterfront in the Old Harbour. Depending on the other guests, the terrace can be a bit noisy. Varied menu, from starters to dessert, with something for everyone. Super friendly service.

Margaritas were great, food not so great. Not authentic at all, we had carne asada, tacos and fajitas. The carne asada was tasteless and meat tasted old. The salad was not fresh and also tasteless. The tacos shrimp and chicken definitely not Mexican, they had pineapple on the chicken taco and some weird ace on the shrimp, too much going on. Also, inxperienced staff who made a mistake with the order twice. The staff was friendly though but definitely need better training and a better cook, maybe some cooking lessons from real Mexicans cook. 😂

Food seemed reheated in a microwave, taste of the meat was off, little chewy yet very dry. Came here for my birthday, yet left with a stomach ache.

I had ordered a pulled pork taco and my girlfriend a pollo al pastor taco. I had been looking forward so much to finally eating real tacos. Unfortunately, the meat and the chicken were completely tasteless. We asked for the bill immediately and only had to pay for the drinks. I thought that was nice. The waitresses were also very nice and friendly.

Downright dissapointing. Bland food and small portions for a stupid price. There is nothing authentic about this place. My advice? Go elsewhere. You'll be glad you did.

The first thing I noticed was that the glassware was dirty, and the Chardonnay wasn't really tasty either. It's also strange that some starters are gigantic, like the nachos, but the empanaditas are very small. The food isn't bad, but it certainly doesn't have a wow factor; it's just okay.

All the food is delicious and priced fairly. Highly recommend the mole, the deep fried cauliflower, and the tres leches cake. This time, the cauliflower was a bit too salty, but it was perfect all the other times. It was a very slow Sunday evening, so we had to walk over to catch the server. She was incredibly nice and helpful even when we spilled a drink - sorry :)

Arrived at 6 o'clock! First drink took 40 minutes. Ordering food took an hour, and then it took another two hours before it was served. Food was fine, but what terrible service… and they keep saying it’s on its way.. flying to Mexico would be faster for Mexican food

Very tasty nachos, but I think they put the toppings on with a teaspoon because there was really very little topping. I would prefer to make it a bit more expensive and put a normal portion of guacamole on a pico de gallo!

The establishment is cozy and warm. My 4 colleagues and I had nice dinner and the customer service was top notch. Our attendant was quite interested in our night and how we were fairing with frequent check ins. If you ask them to make your long island longer they will deliver this. Will be coming back soon.

We had a lovely sunny terrace. The pulled pork nachos were delicious. The price was also quite reasonable; it was busy, but the staff still kept things under control.

We had a very bad experience at this restaurant. It started with an extremely long wait for our first drinks, even though it wasn't busy at all. After our glasses were empty, it took over 30 minutes before anyone even came to ask if we wanted another drink. Then it took another 30 minutes for the new drinks to arrive. We ordered large beers, but were given small glasses because the large ones were apparently empty. Instead of one large beer, we got two small ones, but even those took ages. The number of beers brought was also incorrect. We're still waiting for my friend's beer... Furthermore, many of the staff didn't speak Dutch, which made communication difficult and orders were misunderstood. The food was perhaps even worse. The first main course didn't arrive for about 40 minutes. Because we all wanted to eat at the same time, we waited a while, but after 10 minutes, still not all the food had been served. Eventually, everyone just started eating to avoid the food getting cold. My mother didn't even get her food until I'd finished my plate. That was truly unacceptable. My rib-eye, which I ordered medium, was cooked through, wafer-thin (less than a centimeter thick), and mostly fat. This had little to do with a good rib-eye. After sitting in the restaurant for almost three hours and again not being offered any drinks, we gave up and skipped dessert. In short: extremely poor service, poor communication, and disappointing food. We will definitely not be returning.

Nachos as an appetizer, minimal topping of guacamole and cheese. Main course: tortillas filled with beef; the flavor was disappointing, very soggy. I didn't eat it. The service was lackadaisical. Unfortunately, a disappointing experience.

I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant when I came here two years ago, especially the way the place was decorated. The drinks are amazing here, and the staff is so attentive and caring. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rotterdam.

The service is great, I have nothing against them; they did their job very well. I am, however, really angry with the restaurant itself because the portions are so incredibly small, and for only €18! It's like I'm getting a child's portion! Now, let's get to the worst part: I and two others all ordered the same thing and now have food poisoning and "stomach problems." We are truly furious that you took our money for a child's portion and then gave us free food poisoning instead of a free side dish or something.

So excited to be dining here again after a long time, just to have something delicious. We ordered chicken enchiladas because I knew they were delicious last time. We got three tortillas with dry chicken in a little salsa verde. Instead of lots of melted cheese, there were a few chunks of white cheese and sour cream that was completely tasteless. No rice or lettuce like last time (see the difference in the photos). I ordered guacamole later, which made it a bit better, but I was still disappointed. The waitstaff had been very attentive to the friend next to me, trying to do everything for her and offering, but I didn't have time to finish my sentence or explain why I'd expected something different from my dish. The disappointment was especially profound because it was the first time in a year and a half that I was dining out simply due to illness, maternity leave, a death, etc. I just wanted super cheesy enchiladas 😭

We had a resevation for two on 15 Feb. Although it was a last minute call they were too kind to arrange a third seat upon our request. Food and service were great!

I was at the restaurant last night with three other people. The service was good, and it's a cozy restaurant. Personally, I wasn't as impressed with the food. I ordered the emmoladas, but they didn't taste good. They're soft tortillas with chicken and some other ingredients. The tortilla inside was incredibly dry and tasted awful. I wouldn't order them again. The others had other dishes that tasted better. I mentioned this to the waitstaff, and they said they'd pass it on to the kitchen. That was it. I hoped they would have reacted differently, but that didn't happen. Perhaps my experience at this restaurant would have been different/better if I had ordered a different dish.

Nice place with good food. Unfortunately, it's too crowded and noisy in the evenings to have a pleasant conversation. The tables are very close together and the noise level is too high. Otherwise, it's okay.

We dined with a large group, sharing a menu. Unfortunately, the single-serve bites weren't appropriate for the number of people at the table, and the service was very slow; drinks were forgotten or not even brought to our table. That's a shame, because we could have and would have liked to drink more. The food was otherwise delicious, and as it quieted down, the service improved.

The fajitas were delicious. We also ordered desserts, but when they still hadn't arrived after an hour of waiting, we left. Too bad! The atmosphere could be a bit more Mexican.

We've been coming here for years, but last time we had a completely different experience. Our usual dishes were presented very differently. The enchiladas, which were normally served on a small, piping hot plate, now came in a plate with a ton of sauce. They used to always have sour cream on them, but this time they tasted like chunks of white cheese. The burger meat was very hard and chewy, and the burger itself was very tough. Furthermore, the food was lukewarm to cold. The tapachula, however, was as good as ever. We usually love eating at Popocatepetl, but this past experience was rather disappointing.

In an area full of small, rustic bars near the marina, we found this very welcoming place for both drinks and a quick dinner. The cocktails were very well made, and the snacks were plentiful and tasty. I admit that in Rotterdam, they tend to prepare mixed dishes, standardizing the quality a bit. But for a good drink, I would go back.

We were big fans of Popocatepetl in The Hague. So since it closed, we had to try the Rotterdam one. But that was a completely different experience. Still, it was quite tasty and cozy. But the atmosphere and the food had very little Mexican flavor.

This was our fourth time eating here with family and friends. The food is always good, the staff always work hard to make everything run smoothly, and the atmosphere is always great. We'll definitely be back soon. The cheesecake is highly recommended 🙌🏻

It used to have a warmer atmosphere. The staff speaks more English than Dutch. Parties are also small...good for waste, because you'd never finish it anyway. It might be a bit small for big eaters.

Delicious food! Starter and main course were great! For dessert we had an Irish Coffee and a Spanish Coffee, don't do it, it's dramatically bad ... and especially watery. Otherwise had a great evening.

Excellent food. We had gambas fajitas and the ribs. Very well presented and cooked. The Margherita was spot on and real! Not the usual glass of crushed ice with hint of tequila! We also had great service.

Had dinner here last night with a couple of friends. The starters were fine. The mains were very disappointing. For main we had 2 carne asada which was just a piece of steamed steak that hadn't seen a grill. I had the enchiladas which were the worst enchiladas I've ever had in my life, they had a very weird almost floral taste, the meat was dry, they just dumped a small amount of cream cheese on them and a tiny amount of cilantro. The side was a clumpy flavorless bit of rice. Ordered extra cheese and the mole in hopes of making it edible but alas. The mole was more like a funky tasting Indonesian satay sauce. After complaining to the waitress I was offered a coffee on the house. The ribs were bland. Sauces you have to order separately which is a huge let down. For dessert I had the tres leches with lemon curd. The tres leches was bland and grainy, the curd wasn't a curd and they put 3 minuscule dots of it on the plate. The churros were ok and so was the cheesecake. Overall I really missed the Mexican flavors in every bit of food we had. I expected the staff to remove the enchiladas from our bill seeing as they were inedible but that didn't happen. I also had the mezcal mule which other than the cup it was served in had nothing to do with a real mezcal mule. The servers were great. Sadly some of them didn't speak Dutch luckily all 4 of us do speak English but I can imagine it being a problem for the non English speakers to eat here. I wouldn't recommend eating here if you're excited to taste Mexican food, you're probably better of buying a good Mexican cookbook and cooking at home. I had been wanting to try the food at Popocatepetl for a long time sadly it was a major disappointment.

Patio was super busy. Asked to sit on banquette..was told only available table was a small table in the middle. Yet, 2 couples behind me both sat in those seats? 🤔 They were also served long before us. We had to flag server to even get menu. We almost got up and left. :( Once we ordered, we received food and drinks quickly. Food and drink were both tasty and service was very friendly. The location is great and we'd like to come back again to try their dinner menu..we shall see 🤷‍♀️

The food is not amazing, quite bland and not worth the price. Drinks and location are good. The "big" burrito is a small wrap with a bit of veggies. Also wouldn't recommend the calamari.

We had a delicious meal here. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, our food arrived in stages. When we indicated that we were sorry, the manager Jordy immediately took appropriate action. No. If it's too full you shouldn't sit down. Waited 20 minutes only to find out that there were no available tables inside. Then we sat outside...with children. 2 hour wait for food. Nachos are good. Burrito, chicken wings and emolades were not convincing in terms of taste. Gluten free enchilada and nachos were good. No menu in English, no gluten free menu provided.

Our starter was okay, not too special. Main was a lot better although not the Mexican flavour that stays with you. The cheesecake was fantastic! That's exactly how a cheesecake should be!

The enchiladas with stew and the pie/cake with lime curd were very tasty! The dishes were good in portion and also in price. It was very busy at the cash register, because everyone in a large group wanted to pay for us separately. We therefore had to wait 10/15 minutes at the cash register. Perhaps this can be arranged differently next time. Other than that it was a great evening. We will come back soon to taste other dishes from the menu.

Nachos were cold and small plate and for the main course we are waiting more than an hour and I ask, when will our food come, and the waiter (woman) said, "very rude" ..yes eh! We are full! 😕 Not so nice to celebrate the birthday of my sister-in-law and mother-in-law... I hope the main course is still warm.. The cocktails were tasty, compliments to the bartender.

What a cozy restaurant with delicious food and drinks. The staff was super friendly. We had a birthday girl in our midst and had submitted a request for a small surprise, the table was decorated with balloons and streamers and she had fireworks in her dessert, which was brought out by the staff while singing. All in all highly recommended!
