Alice Thai Street Food in Rotterdam Centrum

Well, with 40 minutes left until closing time, the man behind the counter was clear: better go eat somewhere else. Because we want to close on time. Too bad!!

The Som Tam Pla Ra salad for 22 euros was simply not good anymore, completely drowned in sauce that wasn't fresh and even smelled bad. The fish cakes are also not recommended, completely lacking bite and flavor. If you want good Thai food, don't go here.

I wish I could go back the pad Thai was everything definitely worthy and bubble tea was nice as well

Hands down the best Thai food you'll find in the city - prepared by an actual Thai woman! And a sweet one of that. Very friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. The location is not a popular one, but the food is worth finding it nonetheless. And you'll still be right in the middle of the city centre! There are only a few restaurants in Rotterdam that I, as a local, visit over and over and this is one of them.

This is the true taste of Thai food. I really like it. I stayed in Rotterdam for 3 days. I plan to come back to eat here again. It's so delicious. Real Thai food 😍

I really recommend this place if you like thai food. The sauce of the pad thai is super delicious and something I never tasted before in the Netherlands. We have been here multiple times and have been recommending this place to friends and family. We have never left this place disappointed

Best Tom Kha ever and don't get me started on my snack plats 🫶 it was soo good I finished all my plats and had difficulties standing up 😂 I have said it before and I will say it again, for fresh authentic Thai food this is The restaurant!

Food Poisoning & Aggressive Response – Be Careful! We had dinner here as a group of four. About seven hours later, one of us developed diarrhea, and by the next morning, two more of us had the same issue. Given the timing and the fact that we don’t live together or share other meals, it was highly likely that the food we ate at this restaurant caused it. When I reached out to inform the restaurant, the owner’s response was shocking. Instead of acknowledging our concern or checking anything, he immediately denies our experience, saying he didn’t believe us. He even blamed it on something we supposedly ate earlier in the day—even though we don’t live in the same household. On top of that, he was extremely aggressive and impolite throughout the conversation. A responsible restaurant would at least consider looking into a potential issue, but this place refuses to take any accountability. Be cautious if you decide to eat here!

Als Thailand ganger ben ik wel een beetje op de hoogte van Thais eten. Nou hier werden we zeker niet teleurgesteld, een kleine en duidelijke kaart met alle typische gerechten. De kwaliteit in smaak en bereiding absoluut top. De prijs nog beter en de goedlachse eigenaar met mooie verhalen maakt het helemaal af. Als we weer eens naar Rotterdam komen, komen we zeker weer terug!

Authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine! The dishes have a genuine kick with proper spicy chili, which I really appreciated. The Tom Yum soup has a rich, thick consistency—not too sour like many others. The pork in the curry is incredibly tender, and the papaya salad tastes just like the ones I’ve had in Thailand. Highly recommend!

I came from a trip in Thailand and came accross this thai restaurant. After trying other thai restaurants in Rotterdam, this is definitely the best one. The fried rice is exactly as in thailand. The plates are very big, and the taste is amazing.

The food is awesome. I used to live in Bangkok for 2 years. The food here is authentic. They also offer you alot with normal price. I love their noodle soup. The curry is also very good. Somtam or fish cake is awesome. So far we love everything we ate here.

I went with a friend to get a bubble tea since it was the closest bubble tea place that came up in maps. We ordered two brown sugar bubble teas. When she gives them to us I realized they had no tapioca or brown sugar bubbles at all. I asked her about it and she said they were out of tapioca and brown sugar bubbles. That they only had the fruit flavored ones and the jelly cubes. She didnt mention any of this when i ordered, only when she handled us the drink and I asked about it. If she would have told us from the beginning we probably would have just ordered a fruit bubble tea instead. Instead we left the place with an overpriced brown sugar milkshake. Wont come back and wont recommend

Ordered food and they cancelled after more than an hour. They could have cancelled immediately, but no they cancelled after waiting an hour. Their food quality was also declining.

Discovering this gem was pure coincedence, tucked away near Pathe in Rotterdam. This restaurant offers truly authentic Thai cuisi the only one of its kind in the city. After years of searching for a genuine Thai in Rotterdam, we've finally found our spot. It's a modest establishment, but don't let that fool you. The flavors are rich and genuinely Thai. We plan to return every chance we get!

Tom yum!! I found it!! Perfect taste, take with coconut milk and ask for rice on the side. Keep in mind that “a little spicy” in thai means REALLY SPICY 😂

Came here on a Wednesday night. Heard this place was really good from local Thai people living in Rotterdam. We were seated right away. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (stir fried rice noodles with egg, peanut, bean sprouts, spring onion, leek and lime) and we also ordered Beef Pad See Ew (stir fried broad rice noodles with soy sauce, egg, bean sprouts, broccoli, vegetable and lime). I really really enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai. We also ordered a Thai Tea for a drink which was nice as well. Great place for Thai food, the portions were great as well as the employees.

As a Thai person I can tell you that this restaurant serves terrible food. Thai workers cannot stay. Because he cheated on his subordinate's salary Bad habits of both husband and wife This nation will not prosper. For cheating Thai people together

Good Thai, but too much onion and a little expensive prices.

The food (green curry) was authentic Thai street food. So don't expect a fancy restaurant. Lots of vegetables and nicely seasoned. Nice portion and served quickly, handy if you have to go to the movie quickly (IFFR). This will be my go-to Thai eatery.

It's a small and cozy place. All the dishes taste decent for me, large portions, I recommend to share dishes with your friends so that you can try multiple dishes cuz there were many options in the menu. The staff were friendly and nice. The papaya was really spicy for me and all my friends even though we chose the normal level of spiciness, it was just personal spice tolerance haha

Delicious food in this small shop. Everything hot is served with a fire underneath, which keeps it nice and warm. The curry is highly recommended! The owner is also very friendly and I think also Thai, so no doubts whether it is traditional. The menu cards have super clear explanations about each dish, so even though I don't know anything about Thai food, I had no trouble ordering. The meal cost 85 euros for 3 people, but it was more than enough and even enough as a lunch meal for the 2nd day. I will definitely come back here!

No idea why there are so many 5-star reviews. I can only describe my own experience visiting Alice Thai Street Food. The first time we wanted to eat here it was not a pleasant experience. I, along with a few friends, were turned away when we stood at the door because the business closed much earlier that evening than normal closing time. And recently I made a second attempt to have a bite to eat there, this time I arrived well on time. The owner, at least I suspect, was a bit strange and tense. Started snapping at everyone, including customers! It seemed to me like he couldn't handle the job. Well, of course we came for the food. Unfortunately that was a big disappointment. Even my friend who rarely complains about food criticized the "authentic" Thai food they serve here. The starters we ordered were Tom Yam Kung (soup) and Tod Man Pla (fish cakes). The soup was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't at all. It was rather bland and watery. The fish cakes were greasy and soggy. Maybe they weren't fried hot enough? We also didn't taste the lemongrass. For main courses we ordered Kaeng Kiaow Whaan Kai (green curry with chicken) and Phad Thai Beef (rice noodles). The green curry chicken was still somewhat edible but was very much adapted to Western tastes. The beef rice noodles were horrible. It looked strange: noodles were red in color (how???) and they tasted way too sweet with a chemical aftertaste. We therefore left more than half of this dish because it was so not tasty! Of course, there is no arguing about the taste. But you won't see us again because the entire atmosphere in this place is just as bad as the food!

Overall, mediocrish experience with barely vegetarian options - meal is ~€18 an average. Quite pricy - NOT cozy inside at all. Too bright light, too close tables places together - very slow serving - food is tasty but for the price I would expect a bigger portion /

Had a nice lunch. The Moo Ping was delicious. The Tom Yum Kung was rich and gorgeous. The Kao Pad Kai was average. All in all, was a pretty authentic Thai lunch experience. Would certainly go back.

Here on holiday with family and friends. The food served here is finger licking good! The curry dishes are in different levels of spices and the shrimps, chicken dishes are good flavoured, but not too salty!

Heerlijk eten en een gevarieerd aanbod. Van broodjes kip kerrie tot aan Vietnamese loempia's, buikspek, sushi, Wong tong soep, heerlijk en lekker. De sfeer mag wel iets beter aan de achterkant van de zaak. Verder rekenen ze bij alles voor het plastic. Ik ben benieuwd waarom ze je geen alternatief aanbieden dat goedkoper en beter is dan al het plastic dat nu weggegooid wordt.

The food is worth the price and the staff was very friendly. I totally recommend trying their "massaman." Do keep in mind that 1 portion is A LOT of food if you're a light eater. But I will FOR SURE come again.

I ordered online a Phad Thai with shrimp but the order came without the shrimp. The meal had tofu instead, still good, but disappointing..

Exceptional! Omg this place is so clean and pretty! , food is amazingly fresh and fabulous! .music is relaxing. So happy to finally have a great Thai in a quiet area of southport with easy parking right out front. Oh and takeaway is fab also!

Je hoeft je daar niet te vervelen!! Leuke muziek uit mijn jaren zeventig, heel leuk, de eigenaar is echt een entertainer! Leuke verhalen, en over zijn muziek dat hij draait, nog samen wat gezongen met hem in afwachting van mijn Thaise hapjes. En het eten was lekker hoor! Gemaakt door echte Taise Dames, heerlijk, pas op met nog wat sambal en pepers, je zit gauw te huilen daar. Nog een bubble tea geprobeerd, lekker steenkoud. Ik kom zeker terug!!!

I ate here a while ago, it was fantastic! Unfortunately today (lazy me) ordered it to be delivered to my home. It’s probably blasphemy but I ordered the Phad thai without eggs. I got the phad thai with with eggs. I ordered vegetarian eggrolls. I got e eggrolls with meat in them. So I recommend eating at their place. But I absolutely do not recommend ordering in. Especially if you are religiously vegan/vegetarian.

Net voor het eerst geweest. Eten is erg smaakvol en snel geserveerd. Personeel is vriendelijk. Authentiek Thais. Denk ik.

Great service, lovely food and fair prices for the food. We came in for lunch. The staff was really nice and there is a good relaxed vibe in their place. The toilet was clean. We got a curry, soup, and one side plus drinks which came to about 22 euro per person.

Food was awful. When I told them the vegetables were soggy and I wouldn't eat the food they just said that's okay you ordered it you pay for it. Sauce was disgusting. Thai ice tea was 95% all ice. They didn't care what I said. They just said you ordered it and even if you don't eat it you pay for it. I don't think they will be in business long. Terrible atmosphere too.

Finally, an authentic Thai restaurant in Rotterdam. In other words, there are many things on the menu that most Dutch (and expats) have never seen before. No stir-fried pan-Asian food with random spices here!

We have eaten here many times! Enjoy their food every time! Very authentic Thai food, I like it very much! The service is very good! Compared with other Thai restaurants with fancy decoration, expensive but ordinary taste Alice is way better‼️ if you like Thai tea also recommend.

Very good Thai food and Thai milk tea

Het is volgens mij een familie restaurant, het eten zag er mooi gepresenteerd uit. Dit was de eerste keer dat we kwamen eten, maar helaas komen we niet meer terug. Het eten was wat flauw. De beef balletjes in de soep waren hard en niet vers. We kregen twee keer het verkeerde eten op tafel dat voor andere tafels bedoeld waren. Ook werd er ons gevraagd wat we hadden besteld, terwijl de witte Hollandse meneer de bestelling 15 minuten geleden de bestelling opnam. Ze schenken geen alcohol maar het leek alsof die meneer wat drank op had waardoor hij de bestellingen vergat. Het was Koningsdag. We vroegen ook om servetjes maar we kregen er letterlijk 1. Daarna was hij ernaar opzoek maar kon het uiteindelijk niet vinden, dit gaf hij overigens ook niet door aan ons. Ook de tafels werden niet echt afgeruimd, die man stond ook buiten te kletsen. Het was ongeveer 35-40 euro in totaal met drinken.

Strongly advice that POCs & non-Dutch speakers don't come here. Last night I came alone and the restaurant was full. I patiently waited and got a 4-seat table. The owner had to turn down the customers behind me because that was the last one available. He was very unhappy about it and blamed me in front of the 4 customers, then condemned me for "costing him big money" by sitting alone. After I got the table the owner kept ignoring me. So I raised my voice and confronted him. He finally brought me the menu and threatened to KICK ME OUT, that if I still want to eat here I should shut my mouth, and he dared me to leave a bad google review because he will CALL ME and FIND ME. I told a Dutch friend about this and he came in to check on me. The owner's attitude changed drastically after seeing that I was sitting with a White male. He amicably explained to my friend that it was miscommunication, even apologised to HIM, NOT ME.
