American grill restaurant & cafe in Grachtengordel-Zuid

Did not have a good experience here. First, the service was great. Servers were very good and attentive. Restaurant was very modern and clean. Neatly styled. Found that part of the experience rather nice. The food was not great. I ordered the mixed seafood plate, was 33 euro. What came was five calamari rings, a tiny piece of salmon, and a bass filet that was completely full of bones. Was only a few tiny bites by the time I picked it apart. The salmon was dry, but had good flavor. Also got a large Ceasar salad with no chicken. Still charged me the with chicken price, 17 euro. With two drinks, my bill was almost 80 euro. The food was NOT worth that price. Notice many others have said the same thing in their reviews. The Old Bell next door was MUCH better.

Buen lugar para comer, todo estuvo rico, solo el servicio en terraza durante invierno no es el mejor. Un poco caro como todos los restaurantes del área. El salmón delicioso.

Good place to eat, everything was delicious, only the service on the terrace during winter is not the best. A little expensive like all the restaurants in the area. Delicious salmon.

It was a nice dinner in Rembrandt Square.

Na het voorgerecht gaven wij aan een seintje te geven wanneer wij het hoofdgerecht zouden willen hebben en de bediening begreep dit en zou dit doorgeven aan de keuken. echter niet eens 2 min later werd het hoofdgerecht geserveerd. alsof het al klaar stond en de laatste 2 min even opgewarmd word in de magnetron. of wel hele erge slechte bediening. Ook zat er een vlieg in het eten en ging onze eetlust al naar beneden.

Servicio agradable y amable, llegamos en hora no ocupada. Recibimos nuestra orden rápidamente, como calidad esperada, el gusto era bueno, nos sentamos fuera de ambiente fresco.

Great food and great service. Food was delicious, portions are normal size. Food was fast delivered and the location is very nice. Restaurant is clear inside and outside. Definetely would recommend it.

We tried 5 appetizers and 2 desserts were happy with them all. The tempura appetizer is especially good. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was cozy but not cramped.

Staff were useless only putting through half our order then brought out the food and left half our party waiting until we went in to ask where the food was.

Avec mon conjoint nous avons voulu faire un petit restaurant en amoureux pour sceller nos vœux du mariage. L’entrée était tres bonne, copieuse. Nous étions ravis Les plats sont arrivés nous n’avons même pas fini de manger l’entrée, le vin aussi alors que nous étions toujours entrain de siroter notre cocktail. Nous avions pris tous les deux un Burger viande black angus. Or visiblement c’est le nom de la vache et non la qualité de la viande. Ceci était simplement une fricandelle. Les personnes étaient très peu aimable voire dédaigneuses. Je ne recommande pas ce restaurant, cher et pas très bon. Isabelle et Philippe

Missing the basics. We came here on Sunday evening for some simple comfort food and we're left disappointed. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful but a little short staffed and probably having a tough night with food issues. Most dishes weren't right. Steak was undercooked and went back twice. Chicken skewers undercooked with some raw bits, incredibly limp sautéed vegetables and sweet potato wedges that were soggy and needed a other 20 mins in the oven. The baked potatoes were cold too. Hopefully a temporary problems this should be a decent place.

We ordered three burgers and all the buns were dry and untoasted. If we hadn't ordered extra cheese for €1.50, the mixture wouldn't even be suitable for swallowing. The topping of the burger was also bad, cold thick cucumber slices. Prices are also way too expensive for what is on offer. All in all no recommendation!

Could not supply complete order as advertised but was not willing to supply a replacement “chef’s orders “ I was advised by waiter. Ribs ordered were hard and come over an hour later half cold and hard. Poor business sense and it is likely that this will diminish due to service and food

The food was terrible, the chicken schnitzel was dry and overpriced, drinks were also heavily overpriced. The waiter was nice however.

Expensive and we got a plate of sweet potato wedges which were just a bowl of steamed sweet potatos, wet through not even crispy one bit. We complained they just shrugged their shoulders.

I have to say that the service was very friendly, a young Spanish man… whose name I have forgotten. We ordered 3 burgers with extras…. I did find it strange that he didn’t ask how we wanted them done but didn’t comment. The onion rings and fries were very nice but the burgers were… well, very well done… I have to say that we didn’t complain, as it was a friends birthday, and we took the rest home in order to make a stew, or something….

Absolutely horrible service and experience. It took 35 minutes to bring out salad dressing, in which time my salad was warm. I had to ask 3 people. 4 other couples that came after us got their food before us. The staff are not able to give you a time after waiting 40+ minutes for a burger. Nothing fancy. Talked to the manager who seemed to care even less than the staff. Waste of 63 euros. To top it off the burger was rubbery and gross. Mushrooms were good though.

The food was terrible The hamburger was not home made but a frozen one from supermarket. My daughter ordered the Caesar salad and it was not edible. I asked for the garden salad and I was brought a bowl full of corn, red cabbage and pickles with bbq sauce on it No one asked us why we didn't touch the salad. No one proposed to change the dish we didn't eat at all. Please, don't go to this restaurant It was really bad idea

Stayed at the hotel for a few days , had the superior room with double bed but got 2 single beds , rooms quite small so god help the budget options Breakfast was decent bit of an odd selection like chicken and one morning was vegetables like broccoli and carrots Didn't have time to eat out in thr evening so can't comment One thing your stung with is tourist tax which was near 80 euro for me and my wife for 3 nights

Generous portions, attentive but not too friendly service right on Rembrandtplatz. The toilets were clean and functional.

Racist comments were made towards a tinted friend of ours and he was kicked out when we asked if there was still room. I still don't know why. This is very strange!

Order their medium rare tenderloin steak but came out more cooked than it is. Staff argued that it’s medium rare. Sent it back to the kitchen and asked for a cancellation instead of a redo. Was told there wasn’t any cancellation allowed and I accepted another redo. Sat there for an another hour and decided to ask the rude staff if the steak is coming. He insisted I said to cancel it.. which I also accepted at the point but the bill came with the “surf and turf” steak in it and I asked to be remove from the bill as I haven’t ate one bite of it. He made personal remarks and being a little more aggressive. Paid the bill and left.

Terrible cooking...food too salty

Food was lovely & service was great. Good location. Only used restaurant. Unfortunately there was an extremely strong smell of sewage downstairs where the toilets are.

We waited 30 minutes to be served by an employee who has been rolling his eyes all evening. When we had waited 30 minutes they finally came and we then ordered our food, we waited almost 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food came with a pressured atmosphere and very rude facial expressions from the employees, when the food came they had forgotten to cook half of it of the food. So we waited and waited while the bar staff looked and laughed at us, it seems to be an extremely bad service you get in there, as we also found long black hair in the food, which was not very tasty. We would not recommend this result, prefer to go to McDonald's instead... they don't use meatballs like the steak for a 300 kronor expensive burger

Environment is good with warm and welcoming staff. Food is on the heavy taste side but is nice. Steak was done nicely with good plating.

Old salads and wrong dishes served

We were an adult group of 4 and had been walking / biking around Amsterdam all day. We stopped for a drink on our way back to our hotel and decided to return for dinner. We sat inside in the evening and it was a good atmosphere - the restaurant was full. The food has some good options - we shared a mixture of starters and mains amongst us. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Overall a good evening and good value.

Brilliant service, great food and wonderful atmosphere

We searched for steak places as we lift a canal cruise - this was the first place that popped up. We were not disappointed. Whisked past a large party to be seated and taken to a lovely table for two! The two waitresses who served us were lovely! The food is delicious! I particularly recommend the steak and onion rings and the red velvet cake! Utterly divine! The staff are lovely. Really nice vibe and great location!

I've been coming here for years for their gourmet sausages and steak. Grilled veggies on point. Great seasoning on the fries and I totally love the salad dressing. Great service with smile and attention on customer's happiness. Will come back again for sure. Recommend

מסעדה טובה , אוכל טוב המוגש בצורה אסתטית , שירות טוב עם מלצרים חביבים מאוד . אווירה טובה. במסעדה היו הרבה אנשים . השירותים לא היו ממש נקיים , ואת דלתות השירותים לא ניתן היה לנעול . חברתי ננעלה באחד התאים ולא הצליחה לצאת , היא נאלצה לקרוא לעזרת חילוץ .

Lovely decor, two cocktails we ordered were lovely, though a little sweet and strong. My rib eye was delicious, but my partners medium rare was over cooked, peppercorn sauce not much to shout about. Had to pay extra for your sides, but they did taste lovely. Down side, soon as you opened the door to go downstairs for the toilets, the smell hit you hard in the face, it was disgusting, can't understand how the staff could say they never go down there so haven't smelt it ???

Restaurante ubicado en la plaza con una terraza amplia y con estufas para el frío. Tiene una gran variedad de platos, desde entrantes, carnes, pescados, ensaladas y combos. En nuestro caso optamos por una tabla pequeña de quesos, que no estaba mal, y una ración de bitterballen (una especie de croqueta crujiente). También pedimos una ración de papas fritas que estaban realmente buenas y la bebida, donde vino la gran clavada. Nos cobraron casi 7€ por una botella de agua. Una pena porque la comida no estaba mal, pero los precios de las bebidas nos descuadraron por completo

My friend and I ate there our first night. We were told to sit anywhere and when we did we were told to move. We placed our order of tomato soup, onion soup, and Viner Schnitzel. We asked for water and were told they only service bottled water which we were charged 8 euros. The soups were hot but watery, bland. The Schnitzel was overcooked and dry. When they delivered our main course they brought chips also. We started eating them when the waiter returned and said he made a mistake and would have to take it away unless we wanted to pay for it. Would not recommend. Food not good, service not good, price not good.

Totale Überraschung. Waren total ausgehungert und sind eigentlich nur rein, weil meine Frau sauer war das ich bereits 20 Restaurants abgelehnt habe. Auf den Karten von außen klangen alle Restaurants gleich, aber hier wurde super frisch gekocht.
