Whenever we go to Amsterdam we stop here for drinks and food. Good prices, staff lovely and sat close to where the bus collects us so works out fine :)

Really bad service, and disaster food! Really avoid at all price

Delicious. But they didn't give us any sauce for the fries 🍟, which was very strange. We asked if we wanted more sauce, and when they gave it to us, it cost 1.50 euros. It's strange why you have to pay for sauce when a burger and fries should always come with ketchup. The sweet potatoes were crispy, but one of them was black and very bitter, which was terrible.

The meet was too cooked, i asked medium and it was more than well done.. the bitterball was good but not the meet..

The owner of this place is rude, charged extra for fry sauce and told my wife and I to quickly finish up when it was 11:36 closing at 12.. AVOID THIS PLACE

Very nice restaurant with very tasty and very filling burgers. Among the starters we also chose Dutch Bitterballen - a very unusual thing, not very rich in taste, but cool and crunchy - I recommend trying it. And I really want to warn you not to eat a lot at once, because the burgers come with potatoes (though without sauce, which you have to pay for separately) and they are very, very filling, calculate your strength correctly.

Very low quality ingredients, the chicken was really dry. After informing the waiter, we were offered a 10% discount, but still it was not worth it.

Friendly staff and good food to welcome us to Amsterdam. I was worried about some of the lower ratings, but it turned out to be great (and close to the hotel).

A decent ribeye steak with chips. Service was direct with no real attempt. Charged €1 extra for the steaks - a star down for that. See menu advert vs receipt. No big deal, but still an error. Also, be aware the menu board shows fries are included, the actual menu book excludes them. Confusing 🫤! All in all, a nicely cooked steak!

Well-located restaurant, near Amsterdam Central Station, with a friendly welcome and a pleasant atmosphere (unique decor). Good value for money (American cheeseburger with fries and a Coke) €19

Total ripoff. Charged 22.50 for 5 calamari pieces and rotten salad. When we told them, they didnt even apologise eventhough the picture on the menu is clearly a full plate

This is a very nice, friendly place for foreigners! I follow a carnivore diet and the steak was cooked perfectly! I should have asked them not to include the fries -- I can't eat them. But for those who can, the portion was extremely generous! 🍟

Near Central Station. We ate carbonara pasta and pizzas. The carbonara was good, but the pizzas were lacking in toppings and flavor.

We stopped here for tea last night and ordered the cheesy garlic bread and burgers everything was cooked to perfection and served piping hot. The cheesy garlic bread was incredibly fresh and full of flavour. I chose the Hawaiian Burger with a side of grilled corn, and it was absolutely delicious! It came loaded with cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and grilled pineapple, such a great combination. The service was fantastic too. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Great place to grab a meal. Cozy late night dine in vibe and the food taste great. I recommend the mixed grill, it’s too much food for one person tbh lol.

A true hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam. Incredible Argentine steaks, full of flavor and perfectly grilled. Warm, intimate atmosphere and genuinely friendly service. Absolutely worth discovering.

The food tasted awful, the staff looked very inexperienced and were very unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend going there.

First place I went to in Amsterdam, having just left Central Station. The food was really excellent. The meat was very good.

We stopped by spontaneously with the kids and were warmly welcomed—even though there was no children’s menu. The food was delicious for all of us! We had burgers and steak, and everything arrived at the table within about 10 minutes. The service was excellent—attentive and kind. We left feeling happy and satisfied. A lovely experience all around!

What a nice suprise this places is. I had lower expectations because sometimes places to eat near the train stations of big cities are not very good, but this place delivers! I had the hamburger and it was very tasty, the service was fast and professional and the prices were right.

The food is bad, no recomendable!!!! The bothroom and the kitchen was very dirty.

Got seated at a table just to not be served. We asked for the food menu... That never happened and got fully ignored 3 times. My partner went to take the food menu herself and not even got noticed. Left the place next second. Worst service ever.

They tried to sell me a burger that was completely overcooked, and that's not acceptable!!! To get to the bathroom, you have to walk through the kitchen. There were mountains of trash piled up next to the freezer. We also had to order our drinks at least five times before they arrived. If I could give something 0 stars, I would do it with a heart. Besides, they apparently don't serve any napkins here. Enjoy your meal.

Went there for dinner! Ive got to say this! Dont waste your money! Weve ordered steaks which are expensive and guess what! It was terrible! The worst steak ever, salad and chips too! Salad looks like it was made yesterday and the chips were just plain chips, the steak had no seasoning as well as chips! I have to pick a star to post my honesty with food but it doesnt deserve a star! I wouldnt recommend anyone to go there!

Avoid at all costs — tourist trap! This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve had in Amsterdam. The service was non-existent — the staff, particularly one worker, seemed completely uninterested and inattentive. The food was terrible and absolutely not worth the high prices. My fries tasted like they came straight from a microwave. The nachos were cold with unmelted cheese, and my girlfriend became sick after eating her pizza — she actually threw up. That should tell you everything. This place is a complete tourist scam. Overpriced, low-quality food served with zero care. The only reason it gets one star is because the location is decent and the atmosphere is passable. If you're reading this before walking in — turn around and save your money.

There was literally zero service! It was terrible! I've never eaten at a worse restaurant. I got sick after eating there. It's a tourist trap! Honestly, do not go. The prices are outrageous. We ordered a bottle of tap water and were charged €7. TURN BACK, PLEASE.

This restaurant is a great place to grab a bite to eat near the station before your train departs. You can get decent food for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the staff initially confused the food of several tables. Hot chocolate is only available for breakfast, although the menu doesn't mention a breakfast menu or specific times.

Woman serving was incredibly rude. No idea why she's working there when she clearly seems to hate either her job or just people in general. Flat out just made remarks while we made our order. Then slammed another lady's drink down and then it spilled out of it's saucer all over the lady. Not a pleasant place felt like we were an inconvenience not a customer. Also our toasties came without half the filling they were supposed to have. Writing this while sat here. Edit: Literally after writing this review a friend joined us here and the waitress accused her of laughing at her when we'd been talking among ourselves completely unrelated. Whatever is going on in this place avoid it.

If you wanna waste money just throw the money into the river which beside the restaurant, do not waste money here! I ordered a medium well steak but they cooked like well done. The tasting just like eating a leather. BTW no service as well!

A good restaurant on our way to the hotel. I had pizza and my girlfriend had pasta. Both were very good and plentiful. The price is reasonable, considering everything has gotten more expensive.

The plant based burger sandwich was really tasty, as were the fries. The staff is kind. A little expensive (2 sandwiches and 2 zero cokes €40), but being in the center it's normal.

My wife and I went to La Gouche for dinner on the 29/03/25. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there and we felt like we were bothering them by ordering. I ordered a Ribeye steak medium rare, and my wife ordered a Sirloin medium and asked if they could make sure it was rested so it wasn't leaking on the plate. The waiter was quite direct in saying they only offer rare, meduim-rare, medium, medium well-done, or well-done. When our steaks arrived, my wifes was cooked perfectly to medium-rare which she ate without complaint. My steak was seared on the outside, but raw in the center. I asked the waiter if they could cook it a little longer as it was 'blue' and not medium-rare. When the waiter returned with it, it was still raw in the middle, but now burnt on the outside (see photo). With the attitude of the waiter, this felt like a response to my sending it to be cooked further, rather than fixing an obvious and easily fixable issue with the food. I didn't bother sending it back again or eating it as it was still raw in the middle. Fortunately my wife wasn't very hungry and I ended up having half of her steak. Very disappointing for a restaurant that presents as a Steakhouse!! Would seem this is possibly the reason they only had two other tables with diners at 8pm on a Saturday night.

Delicious food, beer, good location

If I'm completely honest, I won't recommend anyone to eat here. Food arrived burnt. Meat was so tough that my fork and knife couldn't even get through. After visiting the restaurant we ate somewhere else.

Well am sitting in La Gouch right now and I can tell you loved the Texas chicken burger and fries. And my son had nachos and an Amazing American cheese burger we had Coke and beers

Very small, quaint restaurant. Very nice service, delicious food, reasonable prices. We had fillet steak and an American citizen.

Food was decent, service was great and friendly. An issue which will be rectified in time is that the posted menu outside isn't the same as the actual menu. My first taste of bitterballen. The pizzas were okay, but I would have liked them sliced. This could have been due to the waiter being alone and he was rather busy trying to do everything.

For high price you can get poor service and tasteless food. I don't recommend.

Small cozy restaurant. But it can get tight quickly. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food we chose was no longer available at 8 p.m. But overall it was very good.

Called in here for dinner. Place was fairly quiet for food - more people seemed to be having a coffee outside. Food was good though - our party had a steak, and then mainly pizza and pasta dishes and all was fine. Not too pricey. Guy serving was busy, but a friendly guy and nothing too much trouble. Recommend the spaghetti bolognese!

Our experience today was simply deplorable. The server with the beard, and glasses was absolutely rude. We came in with all intentions to dine and my friends used the toilettes and after sitting and deliberating we decided against dining. When we notified that disgusting young man, he proceeded to yell and try to force us to stay. He said “why did we use the restroom and we weren’t eating” and “go in and get something to eat”. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had and I’d never go back. You all need to seriously reconsider that man and his horrific attitude.

Not only did they order beer, they also proved that light is dark. the dish is too salty, the meat is rubbish for 30 euros, we won’t be back

(Summertime) by far the best tasting burger I've had in Amsterdam yet. And there hasn't been any bad one's! Not one for reviews but feels like I should 🤷🏼‍♂️☺️.

We ordered a sir loin medium rare and it came medium wel without taste and chewy dont recomend i swear salt and peper is more season than what they punt on this excuse of a meal ,price was good food was mid but the vibe in this place is good ,dint recommend unless you want to have a date and mediocre food.but the cola was amazing🥰

Steak restaurant that also serves burgers, pizza and fajitas. Fillet steak and fajitas were really good. Fajitas came to the table very, very hot. Unfortunately there was a bit too much fat on the steak, but the meat was really good.

Not recommended unless you want average food from a restaurant with an identity crisis. Our ribeye steak was ordered as medium & came as medium rare; our sirloin steak was ordered well and came as medium well. Ribeye was tough, chewy, & without flavor. Baked potatoes had plenty of sour cream & were cooked right. Salad was fresh and had a wonderful dressing. If the meat was as good as the sides, the food would be awesome. Service was lackluster - no welcoming smile or feeling they were glad you came. Waitress was sullen & disinterested, even going outside to smoke a cigarette at a recently vacated table. The place is advertised outside as a steak house & had elements of a gaucho theme but the chandeliers were modern brass & there was a tiki-ish bar in the corner. The Jesus tapestry by the stairs conflicts with the cattle herding scene on the wall. Latin music videos played with scenes from Argentina in the background. Italian, Mexican, steak & burgers were on the menu. Very confusing decorating style & menu! The restaurant is right across from Central Station on a prominent corner. It feels like they rely on the location for tourists & they don’t need to worry about great food or good service. Do yourself a favor and skip this place for one of the many cafes that will be happy to have you and serve you great food.

Ashamed! Exorbitant price for a pizza that is not good!! It's forbidden to serve this... It looks like frozen!! Poor quality meat for more than €20, served without fries (€3.5 extra)... 15cl glass drink instead of 25cl, it's a steal! The decoration will attract you but move on or run away... There is much better elsewhere
