I ordered a 300-gram sirloin steak (complete menu), but it came with no salad or a small portion of fries. The meat was cold/lukewarm, tough pieces, and the only garnish was a meager slice of orange. The service was unresponsive and unattentive, completely unconcerned about whether everything was to my liking. When I asked for mayonnaise, I was given a small, meager paper container with mayonnaise in it. In short, you'd be better off throwing your money down a drain than eating here. P.S. Anyone overweight would have fallen through the rickety and sagging furniture.

Absolutely brilliant. Short break came here twice. Food was delicious, fresh and reasonable. Staff very polite. Compared to pizza venue two doors up....there is no comparison. Maya's happy to offer tap water, as you would expect, however Peppino's (on the corner to the right of Maya's) refused to supply tap water having already ordered a round of drinks. Maya's I found better all round, good, quick, polite service. Comfy interesting restaurant. We were in Amsterdam for three nights and came here twice which should echo how impressive we found it. We had over the two days, pasta, pizza, burger, bruschetta, ice cream, wine, fizzy drink, tap water....no complaints at all and everything as expected. Very highly recommend this restaurant.

Walk away. Highly priced lousy services. Three waiters totally messed up our orders. They served another table with our exact choices and we had to wait to prepare our food once again. I got a medium beaf so rare I thought it would jump out of my plate. I was probably looking like Dracula trying to eat it. Asked to cook it more and they came back with it virtually the same. But they had the nerv to ask me if I am ok, twice. I am only giving two stars because someone in our group said the ribs were fine. Just find another.

One of the best steaks in Amsterdam at a great price — the perfect spot for everyone, whether you’re on a budget or not.

The waiter was very friendly and the beer was very good, that's all there is to it. They gave us the bill before we'd finished. They didn't offer us dessert or coffee. We ordered a steak for almost €50 that we couldn't finish due to its poor quality. I don't recommend it.

I have no complaints about the entrecote with fries. However, chewing gum in the disposable napkin on which the cutlery was placed should not have happened.

Extrem unfreundliche Bedienung, wir waren zu mittag da. Es wird uns ungefragt die Abendkarte hingelegt, erst nach Nachfrage dürfen wir auch von der Mittagskarte bestellen. Die Spareribs (15,50) waren ungenießbar, der Grillteller (19.90) eine Frechheit. Ein "Steak" ca 4x4x0.5 cm durchgebrannt und zäh, ein gleich großes Hühnerstückl trocken, die 3 Rippen geschmacklich unter jeder Kritik. Pommes aus Teig.

We didn't have high expectations, but then: The spare ribs were unseasoned and lukewarm, the steak was medium-rare and almost cooked through, and the tiramisu was frozen because it was still quite cold in the middle. There were five of us, and it took at least 15 minutes between the first delivery and the last. Conclusion: 2 stars for a well-intentioned reason.
