Reasonably good and well flavoured food. We had the lunch for 3 shared plate. The soup was paprika-tomato, and very well flavoured. They accommodated to our request to have the egg for 2 with salmon and 1 with bacon. And were also assured it was possible and would be done after asking the chef. The (high) chairs were pretty comfortable. They have a long table/bar with outlets which are perfect for working at. They also have a corner with couches and a record player for a nice coffee. (Not sure if you’re allowed to play music on it) The home brewed ice tea green with eldenflower was delicious!

We arrived around 2:05 PM because we'd worked up a real appetite after shopping. There were plenty of tables available near the entrance. Someone quickly came to ask what we wanted to drink, and it arrived quickly. The same went for the allergen menu. We were asked if we needed an explanation, but that wasn't necessary. After that, we waited a solid half hour for someone to come take our order. Tables were being cleared, coffee cups were being thrown across a table, and cleaning was done. We tried to make eye contact, but were ignored. We didn't see anyone else. We weren't really into the menu either. When our drinks were long gone and we were feeling quite hungry, we decided to pay at 2:40 PM, after waiting over half an hour. Unfortunately, you could only pay by card. We ended up going to McDonald's instead, where we had our food within 5 minutes. Never again.

I see this business as something that isn't reaching its full potential. The patio is open, but no one's watching the tables. Lovely weather today, but the patio is closed. It's 5 p.m., only 3 tables are occupied. Sometimes I go unnoticed. It's so nicely decorated and the staff is friendly, but COME ON, GUYS. There's so much more to it! I personally enjoy a simple fried egg sandwich or a croquette on bread; the menu is a choice. But a little attention can generate a lot more revenue.

No idea what was going on at Anne&Max today, but it was a disorganized mess. People who were waiting in line to be seated were regularly sent away while there were still plenty of empty tables. When we sat down, the waitress indicated that we would get drinks within 5 to 10 minutes and that the sandwiches would take about half an hour. In the end, we had to wait 45 minutes for drinks (and had already asked for them several times) and when the ordered sandwiches had not been brought after 1 hour, we left. Several people around us were waiting a very long time for their order, which was sometimes brought in parts so that one person had already finished their lunch and the other was still waiting. On the other hand, there were also people who had just sat down and had food and drinks on the table within 15 minutes. The order form had been lost at the table next to us, while they had also been waiting for lunch for 45 minutes. We didn't get any explanation of what was going on while there was a lot of noise and sound coming from the kitchen and the manager was apparently relaxed and smiling. This was definitely our last visit to Anne&Max in Leidschendam!

On May 22 around 5 PM, I went for a chai latte with two girlfriends and it was wonderful! We were helped by a super sweet young lady who took our order. The place was quite spacious, so there was plenty of room. The benches we sat on were a bit dirty, but it wasn’t too bad. The chai had a delicious flavor, and the young lady really made us feel comfortable. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Unfortunately 1 star, food was cold, had a sandwich and all ingredients were just cold as if just came out of the fridge, even the bread. Delicious food! The food was prepared with love and you can really taste that everything was fresh. The service was top notch, friendly and attentive staff who also think along with you. Despite the crowds, everything was done to help everyone as quickly as possible. You may pay a little more, but you really get something in return, because I was full for a long time! And the atmosphere was warm and homely and I felt more than welcome. It is definitely recommended and I will definitely come back.

Today I went to Anne & Max's with my girlfriend for a coffee moment. I had a cappuccino with a piece of banana bread, and my girlfriend had a latte – both very tasty! The atmosphere was very pleasant: quiet, warm and inviting. We were helped quickly and in a super friendly manner. The lady who served us did her job perfectly - friendly, attentive and professional. The banana bread tasted good, although the slice was on the thin side (about 1 cm). All in all a nice experience. We will definitely come back!

Very disappointed. We ordered a lunch platter for 2 to 18 euros per person with some drinks. The latter was brought quickly. After half an hour there was still no lunch platter, so I asked at the counter. The order turned out not to have gone through, so we had to wait even longer for it. Received a drink and an apology, so that was resolved well. Ultimately when the lunch platter was served it was a downer. 2 very small soups, a few pieces of bread cut in half with a few bowls of toppings. The hummus was really not tasty. The couscous salad was meh. The omelet with salmon looked as if we had received the scraps from a previous lunch platter. This was also not tasty and cold. The board was probably on the pass for a while. In terms of quantity, the board is more suitable for 1 person and certainly not worth 2 x 18 euros. This is indicated at checkout. It was a good thing we checked the receipt, because it also contained drinks from the table next to us. Toilets were also filthy. Such a shame, the atmosphere inside is good and it all looked promising. But we left disappointed. Update review after owner comment: So the receipt was initially incorrect. My husband noticed that drinks from the table next to us had all been added to our receipt. Only then were things adjusted and paid - your story gives the impression that we indicated that the bill was correct right away, which was not the case. Furthermore, it was no problem that it was busy and we certainly understand that mistakes are made. As I indicated, the first problem was neatly solved. But it may be wise to reconsider the quality and quantity of the lunch board.

We were at the Mall too early so we went to Anne & Max to have something to eat and drink. Ordered 2 coffees, 2 apple juice, 1 croissant, sandwich, summer salad and a piece of cheesecake. Drinks, cheesecake and croissant arrived quite quickly. The rest had to wait. Salad came first and the sandwich didn't come. After waiting 10 minutes, just ask. Wasn't made. They were going to do it right away. No excuses. We canceled the sandwich because it would take even longer. Smoked chicken salad was with chicken fillet slices. For €14, this is a cheap solution. During checkout the order was mentioned again quickly. You couldn't even hear it. This was indicated and the order was called again, so that was great. Review is of course a snapshot. Maybe it will be different at another time.

Hugely disappointing and overpriced. Everything tasted extremely cheap, but you pay top price. I don't often write reviews but I have to protect you from wasting your hard earned money on this. Almost €45 for 4 drinks, 2 croissants, 2 cakes and 1 yoghurt. The flat white tasted cheap. The matcha latte was the worst I have ever ordered, please take it off your menu. There was hardly any taste in it, it just seemed like warm milk. The 'almond lemon croissants' were dry croissants with a sour jam on top and some almond slivers. Not what you expect from a croissant costing almost €5. Also by far the worst “luxury croissant” I have ever eaten. The 'pistachio cherry cheesecake' literally had 5 pistachio crumbs on it, you can't really call it that and again €5 for charge. See photo. I would rather sit somewhere else.

Anne & Max really feels like a small local business. In both the good and the bad ways. The tent feels cozy and has a pleasant atmosphere. The food was also really good and all tasted freshly prepared. And the staff was very friendly and pleasant. On the other hand, the store is located in the Mall of the Netherlands. And for such a small business it sometimes feels like they are overwhelmed by the number of customers. Tables that still need to be cleaned when customers are seated, long times before a server arrives at your table, staff who run chaotically back and forth to bring food to the tables. Fortunately, our food arrived on time and we were not bothered by the crowds in question. However, it was difficult to see all the staff running so fast to keep the business open. All in all, the food was good, the price was affordable and the atmosphere perfect. Some negatives may be found in the number of waitresses.

Just a day of shopping in Leidschendam, we came from Anne and Max for lunch, it looks great and a good atmosphere. We ordered a sandwich for lunch at the same time, but after some time the waitress came to report that the choice my wife had made was not in stock, fortunately there is enough on the menu and another choice was made. After some more waiting, my wife's sandwich was neatly served at the table, but unfortunately my piri piri chicken sandwich was not, as it probably had not gone through properly in the kitchen. No problem, it would be taken care of asap. This also took longer than hoped and as a result my wife's lunch had cooled down considerably. When I asked whether it could still be put in the oven, there was hardly any response. I immediately indicated that a small compensation would be appropriate. In short: The coke ordered became a diet coke 2 cold sandwiches, 1 of which is an alternative to the first choice. T piri piri chicken sandwich, with very little chicken Still had to pay almost €35. So not worth repeating for us, which is quite a shame.

Been here for the 3rd time this morning. The first two times we waited a very long time and the service was not that good. Unfortunately today is really the last time I come here. No greeting upon entry. The toilet was really dirty, we were here 30 minutes after they opened so that was strange. It took a very long time before the order was taken. When the drinks were delivered, we immediately ordered breakfast. My friend had a platter with everything and I had the acai bowl. His juice was brought first, after a few minutes the plate with breakfast. When he had almost finished it, my bowl was brought. As you can see from the photo, it is really very sparse, it could all be so much more fun and with much more love. The table where we sat was against a wall, the kitchen, and that wall was also very dirty. The place wasn't even that full, but there were about 7 people serving. Mostly hanging out and talking to each other behind the bar, drinking coffee and on phones. Everything went very slowly and there was not really a nice, cheerful energy. People who entered were not greeted or looked at, but they simply continued to talk among themselves. A table behind us had to ask if an order could be taken. It's really such a shame. I am a welcome guest in many different types of catering. Delicious food prepared with love, a clean toilet and smooth, friendly and spontaneous service is the least you can expect. Unfortunately, none of this was present here. I really think something is going wrong here with the management of the team. There is a world of difference at the branch in The Hague, very tasty and well-prepared food and always spontaneous and helpful service. I really think it's a waste of my money and time that I went here this morning.

Today a high tea with my daughter for her birthday. We had to wait almost an hour for high tea to arrive. Didn't think it looked like a high tea. Everything cut way too big. 2 cake slices, a very large piece of brownie. White sandwiches with chicken fillet or something like that. It said clotted cream and marmalade no scones... when asked the girl went and got them. Staff very nice, but something is wrong in the organization. Shame.

Disappointing lunch, Dear reader, Now just a review via Google since I don't get an answer via email. Last Monday, my colleague and I were at your branch in 'the mall' for a meeting and lunch. 'It's always good with Max and Anne'. So hence the choice for your restaurant. When ordering it was a disappointment that the fresh orange juice was not in stock. Can happen. Opted for something different. The drink was brought. And later my lunch also arrived. With the caveat that lunch for my colleague was also almost ready. Finally I started eating because it was getting cold. After 25 minutes I asked where my colleague's food was. It was asked... The dish my colleague ordered was not in stock! This was not reported when ordering. She was asked with little compassion what she wanted to eat. It would be fixed immediately. Another 20 minutes later her food arrived. It was put down with half an apology. She finally chose a super club sandwich. But its quality was hard to find. Bread was soggy, way too much sauce, little toppings. Slices of chicken fillet on top of each other, little bacon... No, we are not used to this from you. And there is also little fun when you are both eating alone. Unfortunately, we did not receive any compensation or the like. for the inconvenience. I hope this was a one-off. This doesn't suit you. Shame. Kind regards, Connie

A really lovely place, food is super tasty, drinks are great, tea is delicious. The only thing I was disappointed with was hot chocolate, the cup was only half full so it was really a waste of money. And the tea as shown in the photo is missing from a tea set and I think that is a real shame. I come here almost every week and regularly order lunch at work, delicious. What's nice is that if the service is busy, you can order yourself using the QR code on your table. The staff does their best to help you quickly, but sometimes they are just busy. :)

Hi owners of Anne and Max, We wanted to stop for a cup of coffee. After waiting 10 minutes, no one comes to take an order. We then go to the bar ourselves to ask if we can place an order. It is indicated that people will come to the table to take the order. After 10 minutes no one yet. Then we went to the counter again to ask for an order and then someone arrived within 2 minutes to take an order. We asked for a simple coffee with a flavor and the employee indicated that all flavors were gone, which is a lot of good, so be prepared for the weekend. Then I hear another table shout that they would also like to place an order, they were there before us. I think things are really not going well in the business, even though it really is a super fun business with potential. I do think that the employees there need to be trained. They really need to understand that people are not going to wait half an hour if you come for a cup of coffee. Greetings, Sam

This place deserves zero stars. The place was almost empty, with us there were still 3 tables occupied. The rest of the tables were so dirty with cups and leftovers from the previous guests, everything still had to be cleared. The two ladies were happily chatting at the cash register, not paying attention to the customers and completely in their own world. We had ordered coffee at the cash register but had not yet paid because we indicated that we were going to order some more such as cake, but our order never arrived. We left after waiting for 45 minutes. A few tables next to us there was a group of about 8 people, almost near the toilet, they sat there longer than we were there. And after a while, two men from the group came with 5 fries, milkshakes and hamburgers from the snack bar outside. We didn't know what we saw!! They ate their fries and snacks at Anne & Max's, and that was not noticed by the two ladies at the counter either. On second thought, I recommend everyone to bring your own drinks and stretch your legs in the empty Anne & Max, as there is no attention for the customer. This was on Saturday, November 23, 2024 around 4:30 PM, where the entire mall was overcrowded and all catering establishments were fully occupied, Anne & Max remained completely empty. And I understand that too. I go to many places, but I have never experienced this before. My husband and I were still talking about it, the most beautiful and largest store was completely empty, what beautiful things could you have put there and what was done with it? Hopefully the location will soon be taken over by an entrepreneur who knows his stuff and where the customer is king, just like in the rest of the Mall.

Lovely cafe to grab a coffee in between shopping at the mall of netherlands. The service is attentive and food comes out pretty quick. The food is good except the quantities are snacky. Fitting for an in between meal sort of meal not a breakfast really. The granola and yoghurt was amazing. Eggs were ok and the bacon just felt too little :-) always does. The restaurant has great space and many seating spaces so doesnt feel cramped but good seating options. Menu options are a little limited but they have regular pastries for a coffee etc. And because it isn’t necessarily a meal, i wont fault their options. They have mid afternoon bitings also. Overall a place to go to often.

My date and I thought we would enjoy a delicious iced coffee here. The place itself was not really clean. The benches were covered in dust and the table was not clean either. The iced coffee was served in a small picardy glass with ice cubes. Ale, served, we were given a glass bottle that we had to add to the glass ourselves. My date ordered the same thing, but his bottle was a different color and the strongest one was very different from mine. The bottles can be purchased for €1.50 on bol.com, we paid €4.50 per bottle. It was undrinkable, worst iced coffee in my life. The toilets were not clean and you had to throw away the paper towels in a waste bin next to the toilet, which you also had to open with your hands... gross. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait a long time. There was no bell or employee anywhere. In the meantime I could easily see how gross and dirty the coffee maker was... and the rest of the ''kitchen''.... When the employee finally arrived, she politely asked if we had been waiting long. Fortunately, we were treated kindly at the cash register (not when serving). She said she was all alone. This worried me greatly. When I asked where a manager was, he turned out to be on vacation. There wasn't enough staff, so leave your staff alone! What if something happens??? The employee kindly indicated that she could handle it alone, but then again, this is not even legally allowed... In short: Worst iced coffee, shop and toilet dirty. Bad service, and expensive costs.

Treated shamefully here. Ordered our food and drinks via a QR code. My food was delicious and so was the drink. My girlfriend's food never came. Several employees asked where it was and whether there was something wrong or something like that. Sent away several times because it is "busy", orders would go through 100% if they were placed with the QR. After insisting 3 times, an employee would ask. We then hear nothing more from this colleague. After about an hour and a half, someone finally comes to us and asks if everything is OK. Our answer is of course no, we are still waiting for the food. The employee indicates that this is very strange and that she will immediately see what is there. After another 20 minutes or so, the order turns out not to have gone through and the ordered food is now gone... we receive an apology. Of course we don't buy anything for it at all. The drinks are also on-site (1 coffee and a juice). This really feels like very poor compensation after 2 hours and a scandalous way of treating it. Never come here again and can't get rid of the feeling that this place stole 2 hours from us on a Saturday. Something more than a sorry and 5 euros feels appropriate, to be honest. It's a shame that this is still possible these days.

It's unbelievable how many vegan options you can choose from here and how good the flexibility of the staff is. My girlfriend and I had the (much extensive) breakfast board for 2 and I could go for the vegan version and she for the regular version. Top!!

This was once, but never again. We (3 people) had to wait 45 minutes for our food. Very simple sandwich for €14. Not really tasty. But the most special thing was that we ordered 3 dishes and 2 came. When I asked where my food was, the boy said; sorry, that wasn't there anymore. He couldn't do anything about that, but the kitchen could have communicated this immediately after ordering, so that something else could be chosen. Now I've shared half a sandwich with my husband on my coffee saucer. While we were sitting there we also saw other people walking away angrily and pressing the red button on the customer satisfaction survey. There was a staff shortage. I understand, but it is really unacceptable that this was not passed on.

After reading Niccaa's negative review, I went to Anne&Max with a hand on my heart. I saw something in the review about poor service. That's not the Anne&Max I was used to, so I just HAD to check it out. Once I arrived I was warmly welcomed by a beautiful employee between 18 and 20 with a lot of energy, a nice smile and a lot of energy (nice girl). She helped me very well and had a smooth, yet attentive attitude towards all customers. The food was delicious, the seating was very comfortable and when I went to pay at the bar, they were also super friendly. The service and atmosphere are top notch and the coffee is delicious. May 28 at 9:30 am I felt like having a coffee. So I thought the best place in the mall is of course Anne&Max. Upon arrival I saw a lady (don't describe what she looks like because you even know who starts the day) having a nice chat with her colleague. What is possible and of course allowed! Which meant I had to wait 15/20 minutes to take my order from her. I chose to walk over to her myself and place my order. As an excuse she said “we were busy making coffee” while I had seen with my own eyes that they were having a nice chat. Saying sorry is one thing, but I think it is unfair to give an excuse afterwards that makes it a lie. And it wasn't that busy that I could take into account. I love coming here and have always received very good help. But I really didn't like this experience. Hopefully the lady will learn from this.

Food was fine. Drinking was a problem. I ordered a large bottle of water, but they didn't have it. Then we got 1 small bottle for 2 people. After asking we received a second bottle. Because they had it on the menu, but not in the restaurant, we had to pay more for less water. Out of leniency you would normally charge for the large bottle, because the customer orders this but you as a restaurant cannot accommodate that... it seems like a small effort to me...

W.b. Service is actually 1 star too much! With a half empty shop I waited fifteen minutes for an employee who did not show up. So I finally took action myself. All employees present thought it was more important to have a nice chat with them all at the bar. When the bell rings from the kitchen they all look but no one responds!! And the icing on the cake: once they realized we were writing this review, they moved to the kitchen to watch and discuss us in detail! Very professional! 👏
