We had another delicious meal here. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is distinctive yet provides excellent service. The cuisine is fantastic: robust, robust, and original with surprising flavors, and generous portions. We thoroughly enjoyed it. And because we couldn't choose and wanted to try several dishes, we were able to share. We'd love to come back!

The food at Baardman is always good and the service is always friendly. Plus they have a beer on tap (Swinckels) that is not common around town and is also quite good. Baardman might not be somewhere you might seek out especially but if you are in the area looking for a cozy place for a drink and a bite to eat it is definitely a good option.

Great place to sit. In good weather, the terrace is an absolute must-see; it's super cozy and you can even catch the sun in the evening. The service was excellent, the people were friendly and clearly enjoying their work, and the food was truly high quality.

Nice little restaurant for a quick lunch. The menu is small, but the food is good. We even got a free coffee because, according to the staff, it wasn't that good.

Als hoofdgerecht de pasta van de dag besteld waarvan geen prijs in de menukaart stond. We kregen goed gekookte pasta maar ternauwernood een fatsoenlijke portie te noemen en de spaghetti in kwestie was nagenoeg blank dus heel weinig toevoeging behalve een flinke saus. Bij het afrekenen bleek men € 23,50 p.p. daarvoor te berekenen en dat was voor ons, als regelmatige buiteneters, buiten alle proporties.

Our favorite neighborhood spot in Bezuidenhout. For a nice glass or a good bite, but also for a drink and nice finger food. Excellent service internationally oriented. A very relaxed host with a great eye for detail. Highly recommended! Also for a larger group Baardman turned out to be a perfect meeting place this afternoon, a super attentive service from Raul, Bart and others and excellent bites from the menu and outside the menu. Really great!

One of the best restaurants in The Hague

Had a lovely meal on the terrace of the cosy Theresiastraat. Reserved table under the parasol was already neatly ready at the start for lunch. Meat/fish should be less prominent in 2025, but that is a transition in which everyone is at their own point. Quality catering could be a bit further ahead in my opinion :-) There are enough non-meat options by the way and the pasta with truffle tasted delicious. Definitely worth repeating.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal at De Baardman in The Hague with some colleagues. What a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and relaxed. A special thank you to Roy and the whole team – super friendly and welcoming. Roy even came by a few times to check if everything was as expected, which we really appreciated. Your attention and enthusiasm made the evening extra successful. Definitely recommended

Tonight, I was there with two chef friends of mine. The ambiance and the service was perfect and friendly. Absolutely guest oriented. At the end of our stay we ordered two plates of entrecote. I have to say that we got really surprised and amazed. The tastes and spices were heating and cooling at the same times. The parsnips puree and the saus with smoked paprika were rocking and so special... Genuenly special! Really nice combination from the Chef. I could not have done it any better myself. It was one of my best experiences so far. I will definitely visit again to explore the rest of their menu. I can highly recommend to visit this restaurant. Chef Regards🧑‍🍳

A cozy restaurant with very friendly service. The food is okay, but portions are very small (and therefore expensive). The vegetarian dish was disappointing. M.n. main course of a piece of roasted broccoli on a white, sauce-like base, surrounded by pieces of other vegetables is very limited!

Mooi zaakje aan de Trees. Aardige mix van klassieke gerechtjes en war meer creatieve combinaties. Lunch kaart was wel tikkie beperkt. Prettige ambiance, al mag achterin de zaak er wel iets meer aandacht besteed worden aan de afzuiging.

Delicious dishes. Portions small but nice. Good timing. Water (free) is the first to be placed on the table. In most restaurants you have to complain about it, pay for it and often you only get an expensive bottle of mineral water. Not here. Requested a basket of bread. Nice and fresh and free. Delicious dessert and beautifully served. Could be a little more. Acoustics could be better and the lighting of our table could have been better because you want to see clearly what is on the table. The eye also wants something. Unfortunately, the lighting in many restaurants is not very good. Final comments are not complaints but tips. The furnishings and atmosphere are excellent with plenty of space. We will definitely come back! Reception and service were smooth and friendly.

Delicious dinner on the terrace. Beautiful table, nice vibe. We ordered and shared all the starters (3) and main courses (4), which was of course no problem. Everyone at the table was able to enjoy fine oysters, delicious octopus, grilled lamb chops and sirloin steak, sea bass in a fantastic sauce ('Can we have a spoon with that?') and surprising and delicious eggplant. And all that with a delicious glass of wine. What a nice evening!

We ate here about ten times last year, and the quality is always of a high level. Good wine, friendly service and beautiful dishes that are clearly made by a chef who is creative and understands how to make dishes that are not only interesting but also very tasty. Top!

I was here yesterday for the second time and it was so good. The staff very nice and great feeling for service. The atmosphere is great and we sat outside last week and the terrace is nice. And yesterday inside and the interior and atmosphere very nice. The food is really the best. The shared snacks is delicious. Pulpo so good and the feta is yuumy. Homemade croquettes so delicious. The fish and entrecote is also delicious. I will come back many more times.

Baardman, located in Theresiastraat in Bezuidenhout, takes its name from a beautiful bird, the bearded man, which mainly occurs in reed landscapes. This choice of name fits perfectly with the unique atmosphere of the restaurant. Inside, the spacious pipe drawer offers a pleasant view into the kitchen, which creates an open and transparent ambiance. A cozy terrace at the front. The menu is handwritten and states what you are eating without any fuss. International dish names have been omitted, which contributes to the straightforward and informal atmosphere that Baardman creates. For example, it says “sea bass raw, lime, sweet potato, red onion” instead of ceviche. We started with an appetizer of octopus, potato and pistachio aioli. Then we enjoyed pointed cabbage with beurre noisette and sea bass. The fish was served raw in a golden sauce of aji amarillo (Peruvian pepper), which is a variation on ceviche. Although the dish was beautifully prepared and the popped corn was a tasty addition, we thought it was too spicy. For the main course we chose eggplant with mushroom gravy, polenta and cabbage, and veal scallop with sherry gravy, parsnips and carrot. Both dishes were tasty and prepared with attention, reflecting the care and passion of the kitchen. The service is very hospitable, attentive and genuinely interested in the guests. Extensive wine list with a choice of glasses. Baardman is a restaurant with a neighborhood function, ideal for anyone who wants a nice evening out. The informal atmosphere and the honest, carefully prepared dishes make it a great place to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed setting.

Excellent food and excellent service.

The food (pasta dish without meat) was of very good quality, but firstly it wasn't much and secondly it was extremely expensive. That's why there are only two stars here. The rather rustic trattoria atmosphere with bare wooden tables doesn't really suit this price range. A solid knowledge of Dutch is helpful when ordering and serving, as there is no English-language menu. The waitress was very nice, drinks and food were served quickly and of course water and a small cold starter were served. Unfortunately, price and performance did not match.

The main courses, both fish and meat, and the smoked eggplant were delicious. The desserts were tasty but nothing special. The atmosphere and service are pleasant and we had a nice evening!

On the advice of friends, we reserved a table at Baardman. We ate delicious lamb chops! The cheesecake is also super tasty. A nicer atmosphere, we had a great evening.

Way too expensive. Ceviche starter was super small and there was hardly any fish in it. Ridiculously expensive at €15.50. The bavette was good, but I asked for patatas bravas instead of potato risotto and got exactly 10 mini potato wedges for € 27.50. Service was also mediocre. I won't eat here again and don't recommend it. Shame!

Very tasty food here. The restaurant is located on a busy street where you can enjoy people watching on the terrace. As soon as you go inside for dinner, you enter a beautifully decorated restaurant with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious food accompanied by interesting wines. Service is attentive, communicates well with each other and well. If I have to mention one point for improvement, it is that the menu currently on the website is not served. The dishes we received were incredibly tasty, but the dishes from the website also sounded very good to us. Will definitely come back here!

Above all: Delicious food! And that is the most important thing in a restaurant. I do have some (constructive) feedback: Acoustics are not ideal, there is a lot of noise inside. The starter (lamb) comes in a kind of bowl-shaped plate, which makes it very difficult to cut (the plate falls over). Dessert contains hardly any rhubarb. Service could also be a bit more attentive: we all order meat but are not given carving knives, our wine glasses are only removed from the table at the end of the evening while we drink beer all evening, the plates of our starters remain on the table during the starter. Price/quality: perhaps a bit pricey…

Ate the chef's menu here with 10 colleagues. It was very tasty and cozy. Nice place on Theresiastraat. When the weather is nice, there is a lovely terrace and an interesting menu. I want to order everything.

It's no surprise that Baardman is a big surprise here in town! Walking by the other day and talking to the owner, I knew I had to come here one day. This is my lucky day! Sunshine and a terras and good wine and good food! I ordered the pulpo twice and will be back for more food and wine. Love ❤️ this place.

Outrageous prices. €15.90 for a starter (prawn ceviche) with two pieces of prawn. €27.50 for a bavette on a bed of vegetable scraps. For these prices you can eat so much better and more pleasantly in The Hague. The service also left a lot to be desired. Cafe Constant or the pub, for example, are much better options. Don't go to this ball joint.

We have been coming to Baardman regularly for almost four years now to eat delicious dishes, drink delicious wines and simply enjoy an evening! Bart and his team create a very pleasant atmosphere every evening and know how to conjure up the most fantastic dishes from the kitchen! As a vegetarian I enjoy delicious food, but fish- and meat-eating friends and family can also enjoy it. The terrace is of course very pleasant in the sunny months, but the restaurant inside is also very cozy (and the bar is very cozy :-))!! An absolute must for everyone in Bezuidenhout!

We had lunch here today and ate the pasta of the day (€20 per person). The pasta was standard spaghetti with a little tomato sauce and an excellent burrata.

We come here regularly and it never disappoints. Every so often a new menu or a new chef ;-) Stylish decor, good and delicious food, friendly service and always a good atmosphere. If there is one downside: the (poor) acoustics during a busy Friday evening.

Wonderful evening with management of my organization. Very friendly service, delicious dishes from the chef. The veal tenderloin in particular was divine. And some cheese with quince. Classic. Minus? Acoustics is difficult.

Goede bediening door de twee ervaren heren (eigenaren?). Chef creëert mooie en smaakvolle gerechten. Akoestiek kan wel extra professionele demping gebruiken. Niet goedkoop voor een mooi opgemaakt maar wat karig gevuld bord. Iets grotere porties vlees en vis kan er voor die prijs wel vanaf.

Gezellig op het terras geluncht. Eten was erg lekker, gezond en smaakvol. Beperkte keuze, maar dat was geen beperking. De citroentaart was ook super lekker! Aardige eigenaar, leuk contact.

Baardman serves original dishes with a European influence. We had the chef's 3 course surprise menu with wines they had open that night to pair. Delicious flavors, well portioned, and the suggested wines were great. Besides the food and drink, the restaurant is cozy, clean and service was kind. We will definitely return to try the a la carte dishes!

Ich hatte das 4-Gänge Überraschungsmenü, das sein Geld absolut wert war und Gerichte abseits der Karte bringt. Es kamen zwei Gänge mit Vorspeisen, Wassermelone/Feta und Tatar, bevor es mit frischem Fisch, Risotto und Kaviar richtig edel wurde und von einem Dessert abgerundet wurde. Keine Sterneküche, aber gehobene Gastronomie. Das Ambiente war entspannt, der Service aufmerksam und freundlich. Es war viel los, aber es wurde extra ein zusätzlicher Tisch neben der Terrasse für mich aufgebaut. Für einen schönen geselligen Abend mit gutem Essen kann ich Baardman jederzeit empfehlen.

Ontzettend vriendelijk geholpen bij deze mooie zaak op de Theresiastraat. Bij mijn eerste glas twijfelde ik en kreeg meteen 2 wijnen te proeven mét uitgebreide uitleg. Ook bij een 2e, ander glas was de uitleg paraat 😃🍷 De kroketjes waren daarnaast smullen en de aankleding van het terras dik in orde! ⭐️

Pasta van de dag. Heel knap dat je van een eenvoudig gerecht een juweeltje kan maken!

Even een kleine lunch genomen, was erg smakelijk. Bediening prima Betaalbaar, maar wel zoals overal erg duur. Dat ligt niet aan dit restaurant, maar aan de waardeloze Euro.

Baardman lijkt nogal in trek te zijn, in de Theresiatraat is weinig nieuws gekomen de afgelopen jaren. Het viel tegen helaas. Niet erg vriendelijk, niet flexibel. Kreeg de indruk dat we blij mochten zijn dat we er mochten komen. Wij komen niet meer terug. Eten was ok maar niet bijzonder.
