I tried a brie sandwich for the second time now, but wow, plastered all over with pesto again. You can't taste the brie or the tomato anymore. What a shame.

After so many years, I thought I'd give it another chance. I gave clear instructions on what and how, and then you get a healthy sandwich without lettuce and with one extra piece of egg, even though you ask for more. If it's not possible, say so; then they should choose something else.

Always a fine, standard sandwich, not too pricey and no fuss.

I have been coming here since Backwerk opened and have always been fully satisfied. Since the new opening, I have noticed that (loud) music is now being played, which I have commented on several times. I was also approached once about the fact that my friend and I—whom I always meet for coffee—were accused of not having paid, without any proof. We both then showed our bank app with our payments. If, for whatever reason, the staff believes we haven't paid, please address us immediately, not a few days later. Otherwise, this is no reason for us to stop drinking coffee here. The staff is otherwise very friendly. Grace is a good hostess.

Nice place to eat, the atmosphere is great and the food is always good. The sandwiches are also very cheap. You can also buy drinks and other sweet pastries. Highly recommended, and on top of that, it's always very quiet 😃.

His toilet is so dirty. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Would the employees please only clear the terrace after closing time?

☕ Self-service coffee: There’s no barista; you pay at the counter and then prepare your coffee at the machine. It’s quick, but it lacks the charm of a freshly made coffee. 🚻 Terrible restroom conditions: I wanted to use the bathroom, but it was a disaster. Trash bins were overflowing, both with hand towels and toilet paper inside the urinals. Definitely unacceptable. 💬 Final thoughts: A convenient spot if you’re in a hurry and just need something quick, but don’t expect much in terms of comfort or cleanliness. I’d rate it a 5/10.

I had lunch here on Saturday afternoon: a chicken BBQ sandwich and a cup of coffee. The coffee is simply excellent, especially the generous size and freshly ground. The sandwich itself is freshly baked and delicious. The toppings are also excellent; the quantity is good, nice and fresh, and flavorful. The price is quite reasonable, not too expensive.

Backwerk sells fresh rolls, a little different from what you'll find everywhere. Something special is a ham and cheese pretzel or a pistachio croissant. Delicious with a fresh juice or smoothie. Of course, coffee and tea are also available. The toilet was broken... a shame if you have to sit down! A pistachio croissant like that is difficult to eat... so soft that the cream gets everywhere near your mouth 🤭🫣 The trays could be cleaner, as could the space itself. There was a lot of clutter on the floor. Other than that... The atmosphere could be better. Strangely loud people near the kitchen, and the staff chatter with them like they're hammocks on the other side of the counter... and they don't eat anything...

Food and drinks are fine. Only the toilets are still not all in use. We have been coming here for months now and there is still 1 toilet working! What is the problem with those other 2 toilets that can not be repaired? Or do the staff not want to clean toilets?

Months of toilet defect. Spoke to employees. Their boss Kees does not want to have them fixed and does not think it is necessary. Even staff can hardly go to the toilet

I ordered a sandwich with mozzarella, pesto, and tomato, which the cashier heated up thoroughly in under a minute, ensuring a nice, warm sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich fell apart when I tried to remove it from the bag. After the first bite, I noticed the sandwich was far too soft and the mozzarella, pesto, and tomato didn't taste very good. My fresh orange juice, unfortunately, tasted a bit too sour. All in all, the quality was subpar, and the price was also far too high: €5 for the sandwich.

Disinterest, bad coffee, poor sandwiches. Move on quickly.

Fun fact: The staff walks around doing their business in the back with each other and then they continue working as normal, just be careful with what you eat.

Scandalous. My son and partner brought me a bagel with salmon. To my great surprise, there is barely any cream cheese on the sandwich, 1 half slice of salmon, only pushed at the front (so that it appears to be a reasonably well-filled bagel) and the rancid lettuce on top is even more bitter than a fish roe. Sandwiches are not cheap. This branch is really bad at investing. Tip: Don't come here, rather walk to Stadhuisplein. Oh and of course I tried to express my frustrations personally, you guessed it: the phone is not answered.

After a morning of shopping we were very hungry. To the backwork! We thought... well this is the very last time, because making a sandwich still goes completely wrong there. Beware of misleading “stuffed” sandwiches. These are only spread over the edge, so that it looks as if your sandwich is richly topped. This could not be further from the truth... because my bread was topped with a lettuce leaf!! Too bad again guys... but anyway... the dry hard roll satisfied my hunger.

Very young and unfriendly staff. There is also almost no topping on the sandwiches.

Usually Backwerk is a decent place for a sandwhich, and I have been at other restaurants of this chain on other cities. but my appetite went away very quickly by all the wild birds inside, with bird excrement everywhere. The staff didn't seem phased by it, to my worry. I won't be visiting again.

Meager sandwiches, it's better to get a pack of ham and a loaf of bread at Aldi and put it together yourself.

What I wanted to say about this store was not allowed. That wasn't posted. But the photos speak for themselves. We won't go here anymore. Also emailed the company itself. But after 10 days still no contact. Such a pity.

My tomato pesto mozerella sandwich, the sandwich was moldy and the mozerella was dry, it was hard to eat, so I threw it away and I will never come back to that bad thing again!

The taste of the coffee was somewhat bland. Unlike in Germany, here every item is wrapped in a plastic bag which only brings more waste. There were only napkins on the service table and only one small tray for the used tablets which was actually overfilled. The service table was probably kept empty because of all the birds coming in making mess all around.
