Quick service. Very friendly and smiling staff. Convenient for a coffee or sandwich break just before catching the train.

Not a morning person apparently

Selling pastries/bread that are clearly day old, not edible, two pigeons flew in and walked around the kitchen for 5 minutes while I was sitting in today. Really disappointing first experience.

They won't help me with a brown cheese sandwich without butter or sauce. They're not allowed to make this. It's ridiculous. I have an allergy that means I can't have everything. I can't have a brown cheese sandwich, only white, which I'm not allowed to have.

We bought 3 sandwiches and look how stale bread was.

I dont know why people dont like but i think they have good sandwiches, especially mozarella.

How can you make a mushroom omelet so disgusting? It's truly an art form. And then they charge €5.50 for that inedible mess 🤡 --- also pin only 👎

They dont accept cash payments, however workers were so helpful and paid for me and accepted cash 🥹 Thanks very much Sandwiches always tasty and coffee is good too I recommend for quick snack or full mean you will not be disappointed

Normally delicious sandwiches at backwerk, only the sandwiches here were extremely dry and probably very old. In addition, traces of sauce were also found that should not be on the sandwich at all. Very disappointing.

I bought an expensive orange juice, and the first sip was pure pulp. I had the good idea to "filter" the whole bottle through the juicer at home, and my expectation was confirmed: there was no juice at all, just a bottle of pulp. Absolutely scandalous.

The coffee is terrible, so watery. Better go to Kiosk: cheaper and tastier.

Bad staff. Not customer friendly at all. And selling no is not allowed. They have empty shelves and when you ask if they want to replenish they say no and I recently said I'll wait then they suddenly said 10 minutes. Then I came back and they still had 1 sandwich left but brown and I wanted white. I then asked again if they were going to make it and the woman just said no again. I sat down in the hall and I looked into the store and saw that they had replenish the shelves. It's time they replaced the rotten apples with social and nice staff who are excited to work in a sandwich shop. The customer is king.

Whenever I come here I always get an orange juice with squeezed Rat, one of the few places where you can still get this.

Waiting time at the cash register here is far too long. I've often decided to get a coffee here just before I have to catch the train. I'll leave that alone because of the waiting time. It goes much faster at AH and also at Kiosk.

The spinach mango smoothie was a spinach banana smoothie, which is not great if you have allergies.

Normally very tasty sandwiches. This time, however, the shelf was empty. The gentleman behind the glass had a whole pile of sandwiches, wrapped and all. When I politely asked if I could have one of those, I was greeted with 'I'm still working on it'. I sought refuge with my colleagues at the metro. They did have stock. By the way, the ladies at the cash register are always friendly.

I had to say hello twice and didn't even get a look back. Curt and unfriendly staff. Sandwiches had no vegetables, and wilted vegetables.

Then you finally had a delicious Chicken Oriental sandwich. Unfortunately, to take it out of the range again. And if the reason is that the sandwich did not sell well, then it can be logically explained because you had placed/hidden the sandwich completely between the vegetarian sandwiches.

Went in to get appelflap. Specifically asked the lady behind the counter if it had raisins inside as most places do and the chance is slim of them being without. She was convincing me it's just apples inside and not raisins. I'm severely allergic and was happy to hear I could enjoy a pastry without raisins. When I got to my train stop and started eating surprise-surprise, the appelflap had raisins. I'm glad I didn't manage to eat any before I discovered it, but do not recommend the place if you are seeking allergy information from employees. All those labels saying if you have questions ask an employee are clearly lying...

Too much effort to supply me with an orange juice to go with a bagel for their special offer. Strangely they had someone employed to do nothing but make juices and smoothies, and they had more oranges than a large Albert Heijn (see photo). I I took my custom somewhere else....

Cup was leaking and by the time i was in the train my coffee was gone. And train table dirty. You should pay me back!!

This is the only branch that does not make sandwiches if someone is allergic.

It's a shame that the pretzels are presented at €1.50 on a wooden pole and if I choose too go, I still have to pay €0.10 cents because I am not allowed to take them without a bag! So whether or not to use plastic remains not a free choice!

€0.10 for a paper bag for your Croissant. Under the heading of a plastic packaging levy at Beurs metro station. The staff has to laugh about it themselves.

Until the plastic surcharge it was an okay place to buy a coffee and croissant. It is really scandalous that BackWerk charges customers maximum with the plastic surcharge and offers no alternative. If you want a sandwich or croissants, it is by definition wrapped in plastic. People have no choice to buy the food without the plastic around it. A very nasty stranglehold from a company like BackWerk. For the sake of decency, the company should offer an alternative through paper packaging. Now they only make an ordinary profit on the excessively high plastic surcharge.

Since the Netherlands imposed a tax on single use plastic packaging Backwerk has resorted to wrapping every single item in plastic to increase the price by €0.10. By law they are required to offer an alternative but do not do so. By the way, the plastic tax can be pocketed by companies. Nice cash grab, Backwerk.

I am lactose intolerant and allergic to milk, but I am not allowed to have oatmeal bread in my cup instead. I find it very strange and therefore I cannot enjoy a nice healthy smoothie. Starbucks is much better because at least they do that with other types of milk. When should this change because this is very unhealthy!!!

The ladies at the cash register can't even wish you a nice day and look super grumpy. A smile goes a long way ;-) Coffee gets cold quickly, sandwiches are always fresh and have a different variety.

BY FAR the best sandwiches! Crunchy brown bread baked to perfection, tasty sauces and good fillings. Delicious!

We had the Baguette with BBQ chicken and one with tune. We really enjoyed it. Enough chicken and tuna on the breads. Beside the proteins, the sandwiches had tomato and lettuce. They were big sandwiches. Good deal for the price. They also make fresh smoothies.

Beautiful place, good service, delicious sandwiches and good coffee in terms of taste and quality. I had the egg sandwich with 🥑 and it was delicious and highly recommended.

super friendly staff and tasty sandwiches. the chocolate milk is very tasty but I think I could get type 300 diabetes from it. the tuna rolls are so freaking good that I don't even mind if my breath stinks for the rest of the day.

Everything about the food was tasty but the coffee was too cold

ordered latte macchiato with oat milk. The machine said €2.60. €3 was charged at the checkout. I pointed out to her that the machine said something different, but she just kept repeating that the price was €3. I hope this will be changed!! It's nice that they have organic coffee here.

Ik wilde koffie drinken. Per abuis de verkeerde maat kop gepakt. Ik kreeg een enorm uitbrander van de medewerker, ik had beter moeten kijken wat alles stind duidelijk genoteerd (kijk hier!). Nu is heel zijn zaak vies werd mij ook nog verweten. En gaf aan dat dit ik dit niet bewust had gedaan. Ik heb afgerekend en collega vroeg wat voor koffie het was. Ik zei koffie verkeerd in letterlijke en figuurlijke zin. Ik kom hier niet meer! Nu, bij de Mac. Daar smaakt de koffie prima en aardige medewerker. Misschien moet het personeel maar hier even in dienst om te leren klantvriendelijk te blijven! Dit soort dingen gebeuren nu eenmaal.

Just in any train station in the Netherlands, if you find a backwerk and crave for a sandwich or a snack, just go in. Convenient, quick and tasty take-away breakfast or lunch.

A branch for baked goods and small snacks, as well as drinks, right in the train station, Rotterdam Central. Basically, the shop is well stocked and there is a large selection of baked goods. The baked goods taste quite good, but you can't compare them with a real bakery because they are ready-made products. The coffee tastes very good. The employees are very friendly and you are served very quickly. The price-performance ratio is also very good.

Usually okay, but the coffee machines have been poorly adjusted lately. Hot and weak coffee is not okay. Certainly not for 2.50 and walking back after getting it is not possible when you are on the train unfortunately :(

Backwerk is in Duitsland al heel groot en timmeren nu ook in Nederland aan de weg. Het is een klein zaakjes dat voornamelijk is voor forensen die snel iets willen afhalen om mee te nemen. Er zijn een paar tafeltjes waar je kunt zitten. Ruime keuze aan (lekkere) broodjes, gebak, koeken, sappen en warme dranken. Bediening achter de toonbank niet echt vriendelijk maar wel efficiënt. Koffie smaakte redelijk. Prijzen zijn gemiddeld.

I was the happiest person when Backwerk opened in the Netherlands, and although in the beginning they used to be an almost regular bakery that I adored, now that they turned into a joint for quick snacks, I STILL LOVE IT!

In my opinion the sandwich was not tasty. The roast beef tasted rancid. 1 star, because the bun was nice and crispy.

I was quite surprised that there have been so many negative reviews. My experience with BackWerk at numerous locations has always been good. I tried this location inside the Central Station. The rolls were fresh and the service excellent from a very kind lady behind the counter. The coffee machines were being cleaned during my visit. Fresh juices are available and they look and taste great! Very conveniently located and will certainly return to this store

I wanted to ask about a sandwich this morning, the girl who was making the sandwiches deliberately ignored me after I politely asked for help several times. There's no way she didn't hear me. When I left the store she immediately looked in my direction and made eye contact. She was very aware of the fact that she was ignoring me, which I find very strange and very rude. That's why I didn't buy anything and I certainly won't be back

I came to Backwerk because I had saved a few sandwiches from the trash via a Toogoodtogo. Very good offer, good location and very nice staff.

What dry rolls! There wasn't even any butter spread on the buns yet. Shabby dry rolls . Never buy anything here again.

Contrary to a previous review, this to-go sandwich shop is located outside the gates of the train station, down by the gates to the metro. So you don't need a public transport card to get a sandwich, snack or cheap (1 euro or 1.50) cup of tasty coffee.

Not accessible if you do not have a train ticket.
