Great place for a coffee and lunch

Delicious food, great concept. The service could be a bit friendlier, but we were early, so maybe they were in a morning mood. The atmosphere was good, but the tables were sticky. But that's just a snapshot, of course. Other back restaurants are good. So we'll try again soon.

My first time at Backwerk was unfortunately not a good experience. My sandwich had very minimal filling: three mini chicken strips, two small bell pepper pieces, and some lettuce. The sandwich was only cut in half, leaving the other half completely empty. However, they had arranged the sandwich in such a way that you couldn't see it when you picked it up. The selection was also very limited for peak lunchtime; most of the sandwich types were sold out. Furthermore, there was a very unpleasant, sour smell near the restroom, which didn't feel hygienic. The sandwich, in the places where it did have filling, tasted good, hence the two stars. Hopefully, next time will be better!

There wasn't much space to sit comfortably, with a few too many chairs and tables crammed into the room. The sandwiches were delicious, with plenty of choices, and the staff quickly replenished them.

First time here. Delicious sandwiches neatly displayed in a spotlessly clean display case. It was hard to choose between all those delicious sandwiches. The price is also reasonable for these luxurious sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and well-maintained. Highly recommended.

I had a Mexican chicken sandwich. It tasted a bit unusual, but I ate it anyway. It turned out to be bad, and I was sick all afternoon and evening. The cashier also takes cash and then uses the same bare hands to heat up the sandwiches. So, hygiene isn't exactly great.

The food was very tasty! The inventory could be better managed! The service could be improved. The air conditioning has a remote control to adjust the temperature. Perhaps they had booked the polar bear this afternoon. But this temperature was seriously too cold!

Salmon bagel. The salmon was far from fresh. We asked about it, but no, the sandwiches were freshly made. We had two bites. Not good. The lettuce wasn't fresh either. So we reported it again. Nope, fresh. Not at all. Poor service. We threw both sandwiches away. Once we got back in the car, we felt sick.

Staff super friendly. They closed at 5 and came to get a sandwich at 4. Little to no choice, very unfortunate. Still found something tasty. Everything was very clean!

Zeer onprettige ervaring gehad bij het filiaal in de stad van Zwolle. Wij hebben daar met 4 personen op het teras gezeten. Wij wouden na afloop plassen, een medewerkster was bezig om de 2 toiletten schoon te maken. Er werd ons verteld dat we nu niet naar de wc konden. Na een tijdje wachten, moesten we inmiddels erg nodig. De medewerkster zei, ja dat kan nu niet ik moet nog dweilen en de prullenbakken vervangen. We hebben bij de buren ook wc's, waarop ze ons naar de McDonald's een paar winkels verderop wou sturen. Wij vonden dit uiteraard een rare manier van je gasten behandelen, en wij zullen hier zeker niet meer terug komen.

Had a very unpleasant experience at the branch in the city of Zwolle. We sat there on the terrace with 4 people. We wanted to pee afterwards, an employee was busy cleaning the 2 toilets. We were told that we could not go to the toilet now. After waiting for a while, we were now very much in need. The employee said, yes, that is not possible now, I still have to mop and replace the trash cans. After we asked if we could use 1 toilet in the meantime, we were told that they also wanted to go home at 5 o'clock, it was half past four at that time.... If we really needed it, they also had toilets at the neighbors, so they wanted to send us to the McDonald's a few shops away. We obviously thought this was a strange way to treat your guests, and we will certainly not come back here.

They close at 5 p.m., but before half past five they already start tidying up and cleaning, or carrying things inside and putting chairs upside down on the table. When I said something about this unpleasantness, I was told that the staff also wants to go home at five o'clock.

Extremely dry bagel that had probably been wilting for hours. Very dry and poorly seasoned. The girl behind the counter doesn't say Good Afternoon or Hello either. Never come here again. What a crap tent.

Many options, from hot to cold. They also had different smoothies. Perfect for breakfast or lunch. I had a tuna sandwich, excellent sandwich. Staff also friendly and restaurant is clean. There is only work going on for the restaurant. A little harder to find.

I like the concept; quickly buy a sandwich and eat it. Sandwiches are affordable but they seem smaller and less filled. The topping is conveniently placed on the sandwich so that it looks like a lot at first glance. The soup was terribly salty.

Once again this BackWerk shows its best side when I am there. Delicious food and drinks. Clean and cared for. Wide choice, fresh on display. Just better and better.

Ik wou graag een broodje zalm. Die hadden ze in het assortiment maar de zalm zat dan op een bagel. Het enige wat ik wou was een ander broodje. Bijvoorbeeld een wit stokbrood, Italiaanse bol of kaizerbroodje. Alles was prima behalve een bagel. Dat kon niet want dan was het gewicht anders. Zelfs als ik 2 euro bij zou betalen voor een goedkoper broodje qua inkoop dan was het nog niet mogelijk. Heel bijzonder!

I had never been here before. I was surprised by the self-service. Nice choice of savory sandwiches and sweet pastries. But nothing special, all very standard. Personally, I won't be having lunch here again anytime soon. I prefer lunch on a terrace where you are served. And you can also order something warm, vegetarian or vegan. The perfect place for a quick sandwich and the price is also attractive.

Sit comfortably. Not the usual atmosphere, but if you go with several people, you can make it fun yourself. When the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace.

It really can be better. Nothing wrong with home orders. But when I go there, the service is poor, the restaurant doesn't look inviting and the sandwiches are full of flies and sweaty cheese. I think there should be a refrigerated, closed display case for the sandwiches.

We had breakfast here three times in total. Everything was very fresh and tasted good. The apple turnovers were really tasty. The coffee was good too. Also the orange juice - freshly squeezed. A good price/performance ratio.

The food is good and affordable, but I would really advise the employees not to smoke on the corner of the door. Very nasty to have to sit inside in their smoke and eat food with a mouthful of smoke and your child who is also sitting in there and gasping smoke.... Really a no-go!

It's a clean place. The staff is friendly. We had soup and it was nice. The croissants and Brezel were very nice.

Sandwiches are delicious and lots of choice. Tasty smoothies. Good soup. Only the floor was not very clean. Lots of leftover food, but also napkins, etc. The tables were also not fresh. But nice place for a snack.

Backwerk's menu could use some updating, I think the offering in Germany is much better

At half past five everything is already taken away. Employees find doing nothing more important than working. It was a dirty mess.

There is one older lady with glasses and she is not too happy with her job. Going to the toilet is always a problem with this lady. The other ladies are super friendly and a lot more relaxed when this woman is not there.

Always had a good lunch, but this was very bad. Especially service. I had an egg salad sandwich with my daughter, which we always have. But the egg salad tasted sour. I went to the employee who was already trying hard to help me because she was eating herself and the other 2 were not helping me. I received an answer that the date was correct. She took out the packaging, it was March 15, so still 8 days, but the egg salad was still sour and does not have to have anything to do with the date. She frayed and said bluntly, well, I'll take the other one out, but she didn't. I didn't get a new one and I said I don't need this one because it really isn't tasty. Okay she said and that was it. In any case, I will never go there again purely because of the service. How bad, how bad

Tasty, affordable and not expensive. Relaxed music. Staff a bit disinterested and a terrible door that no one closes properly, so in winter you have to keep getting up to close the door. Complicated hassle with tokens for the toilet does not suit a hospitable city like Zwolle.

Not what it used to be anymore. You could always have a chat with the old owners and they would recognize you when you passed by again. That's different now, it's no longer fun. New owners can never catch themselves cheerful.

Just walked by the sandwiches, the closed display cases have recently been removed. Now that I looked, there was one or more green flies on almost every sandwich. I'm quickly turned around... Unfortunately, because I thought the sandwiches were tasty, but now that I've seen this I don't dare and don't want to buy anything here anymore. Perhaps it is an option to package them?

Rude staff and high prices. Due to an offer on the board outside we had decided to enter this joint but the cashier was very surly and claimed that the offers had not yet been set. We ended up leaving without eating and will never return here.

Bad service 50 cents for toilet. Only when you indicate that you are a customer will you receive a coin. A toilet should be free anyway. Customer or not. Then the prices for the sandwiches are not normal. The customer has to pay for the pandemic

I visited last week after they were taken over by other people. However, they decided to stop heating the pretzels for customers (3 seconds), even though the oven is right behind the counter and there were no other customers in the line. While normally I could always have the pretzel warmed up here, I was asked about this earlier. I personally think this is a small effort for an ex-regular customer.
