Mens Bakery has been acquired by Goemans; I really miss the old, friendly Mens team!!! A certain "Zara" at Goemans gave me a cold snap the first time, and the second time I saw her embarrass a customer and her colleague while she was supposed to fix it... and she just kept shaking her head! The shop has been converted to self-service, looks sleek and polished, but shrink-flation is especially noticeable on the individual pastries, and dogs are no longer allowed inside. That last part is understandable, but the atmosphere makes me want to cycle to a real bakery from now on... it feels too cold here. Such a shame, because the product looks well-made.

What a fantastic bakery! We came on Saturday afternoon. Super busy, but the staff remained friendly. Everything here is delicious. It was hard to choose, though.

What a disappointment, they used to have tasty sandwiches

Yesterday I ate a birthday chipolata cake. I used to buy it at Mens bakery, and it was always delicious! But this one was unanimously disappointing. It was dry, very sweet, and lacked any flavor. The cake was beautifully decorated, though. I hope this feedback is helpful...

Bought cake for a birthday, whipped cream was not good, several people indicated that it tasted strange. Reported the next day but the complaint was ignored. Only reported again because I no longer have an appetite for cake from them and I regret that the lady in question said that I should have reported it to Marian and finished it off by saying, sorry, but I want to close now. They have never heard of compensating, you will lose regular customers because of this attitude. Continue reading to Van Velzen Heiloo, I'm sure it's good and that the pastry that sits all day won't go back into the freezer.

Went there to buy some chocolates, asked for praline filling or marzipan. Ended up with 4 bonbons, of which the woman was certain contained that. After leaving the shop I tried them at home, none were praline or marzipan. 3 of them had alcohol, while I specifically did not want alcohol. Not buying chocolates here ever again.

Delicious fresh sandwiches and finally found a Hawaiian pizza sandwich! They are almost nowhere to be found anymore. The lady behind the counter was very friendly!

I bought a cinnamon roll here. This was quite expensive at 1.40, small and bone dry inside. Probably already a few days old. Not recommended. The bread I bought here was good and tasty.

Received bad treatment today. I didn't want a healthy sandwich that had been in the display case for over half an hour. Asked the employee to make a fresh sandwich. I then receive 2 sandwiches, no butter on my sandwiches and the filling had flown over them... bad service from this not very friendly student! I'm not coming back. Go to an entrepreneur who pays attention to his customers.

I used to like coming here, but since there is a guide line for the blind, I avoid this place. The terrace has been placed in such a way that the municipality cannot complete the line and visually impaired people are trapped in the terrace. This entrepreneur apparently does not care about taking disabled people into account. Then I won't spend another cent...
