Excellent bread, the one with muesli and candied apple is incredible. The other breads are also very good. Only the chocolate bread was a little disappointing as it was too greasy.

Been trying to find the best hamkaas croissant in Haarlem and think I've found it! Great lemon poppy seed cake too.

It's a really nice shop. I went there last Saturday afternoon, and the staff are fantastic. I was helped by a young man who was so kind and helpful, giving me good information about the products. I would definitely go there again.

I wasn't exactly happy when I saw the big hole in the bread, but when I subsequently found black, stony material coming out of the bread between my teeth, I was completely turned off. I won't be going to Van Vessem again anytime soon.

This is really disgusting food. The croissants are nasty not normal. And the tiger stick is way too hard. Even my grandmother can bake better bread.

I bought two cheese sticks here last Saturday. For €2.75 each, you'd expect a lot. They barely had any flavor. The staff could have been a bit more polite about not being allowed to help yourself. I'll skip this bakery next time.

The sesame whole wheat bread at Van Vessem is delicious. The chocolate cake is the best I've ever had. The baguettes are good, just like real French bread, very crispy. Nut-raisin bread. Why one star less? The layout of the Grote Houtstraat branch is abysmal. Customers are standing in line right next to the bread, coughing. It's inconvenient that the saleswoman has to constantly circle around customers. The people who work there are very friendly, though. There's always something to snack on; they're very welcoming.

Like the store in Kleverpark however this one is just ridiculous by it's design. Never seen that in a bakery. Everything is at reach as in a self service shop but you get told off as it is not a self service shop! In which case make it a regular bakery like Oscar across the street

Our experience was disappointing. While the arrangement of the shelves behind the counter does not create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, it unfortunately leads to uncomfortable situations. It is easy for customers to assume that they can help themselves to their bread, WRONG assumption. During our visit, my friend reached for some bread, and instead of a simple reminder or a clear sign telling her not to touch the bread, a staff member loudly told her not to. This was embarrassing and unnecessary. Worse still, the irony was not lost on us when we saw the staff handling the bread with their bare hands, without gloves. It is quite hypocritical to reprimand customers for possibly dirty hands when the staff is not following basic hygiene rules. In the interest of hygiene and customer comfort, I strongly suggest implementing the use of gloves when handling food, as is common practice in most places. Furthermore, clear signage or a different layout to prevent customers from touching the bread would be a simple solution to prevent such awkward situations in the future.

You are not allowed to put sandwiches, etc. in a bag yourself. The store employee does that. This means you have to wait a long time. The employee also put the wrong type of croissants in the bag today and I only found out when I got home. In my opinion it could be arranged better...

Heerlijk brood. Van een simpel half wit tot exclusieve broodjes.

Great selection of bread, pastries and cookies. Tried their baguette, almond cake, a cinnamon roll, almond pastry - all were delicious.

Heerlijk vers bruin brood. Ik fiets er speciaal naar toe.

We komen hier graag om brood te halen, maar de laatste tijd sta je soms wel zeker een kwartier te wachten. Ik vind het onbegrijpelijk dat er soms rond 11.30u - 12u maar 1 medewerker aanwezig is om mensen te helpen en af te rekenen. Maar ook om 10.30u kan je gerust een kwartier in de rij staan. Het zou wel iets efficiënter kunnen in mijn ogen. Volgende keer ben ik toch geneigd door te lopen als er weer zo'n rij staat!

Goede bakker met erg lekker brood. Tevens zijn de taarten ook erg goed.

Beste, meest innovatieve en duurzame bakker van Nederland. Elk brood heeft z'n verhaal. Zelf ben ik fan van gewoon monniken classic, maar er is zoveel om van te genieten. Zeker niet goedkoop, maar wel eerlijk.

De meest chaotische vestiging die ik ken van Bakker van Vessem. Dat doet verder geen afbreuk aan de kwaliteit van de producten. Een heerlijke chipolata of een mooi brood. Genoeg keus!

Een mooie broodjeszaak,waar je al s'morgens vroeg,heerlijk gebakken brood en een groot assotiment broodjes kunt verkrijgen,en de overheerlijke Speculaas brokken vol met amandelen,echt een aanrader.Te veel om op te noemen.

Tasty bread. We took the bread with walnut, brie and honey. It was large and for an OK price. Taste was good. Staff friendly.
