We weren't initially allowed to order pizza because it was Saturday. We went anyway, but the pizza was really not good...in short...not a successful evening, but an expensive one.

We checked the website, and the menu looked great! Then, when we got to the restaurant, we suddenly found ourselves with a completely different menu... no more pizza on the menu, but expensive appetizers and main courses! We were forced to order a "starter" and a "main course." We paid for our drinks and left.

Despite ordering €23 each for appetizers and expensive wine, it was simply unacceptable that we wanted to share a pizza as a main course. From the moment we asked for it, the owner ignored us the entire evening. The food is okay, but not worth the money. The decor and atmosphere are faded.

For an Italian restaurant, an Italian chef, the pizza is far from what you expect from an Italian pizza.

Terrible! Communication was almost impossible; neither English nor Dutch was possible, and finally the owner himself came to communicate rudely. Regarding the food, if you get spaghetti that looks more like soup, something is definitely wrong. Never again!

Terrible!! You arrive on a Saturday evening, and nowhere is it clearly stated that on Friday and Saturday from 6:30 PM onwards, you MUST order two dishes. Then you're given a pizza menu, which you have to ask for. The pizzas are FAR from being available. Except for four. The waiter insists on the appetizer and lists the whole list. We then tell him to finish our drinks and leave, but we didn't even look at him. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

We had the surprise menu and it was a bit disappointing. It's better to eat a la carte.

A mix of art and kitsch interior. The host sings along constantly. He subtly encourages you to choose certain dishes, without letting you know the price. €16.50 for 4 small, rock-hard pieces of bruschetta is quite pricey. We had tagliatelle with salmon and ravioli for our main course. The pasta was homemade and delicious. But you had to search for the salmon. We were still hungry afterward because the portions were rather small, €23.50 for both pastas. The dessert was delicious and beautifully presented. When we asked for the bill, the owner started pushing us to get another coffee or tea. Thank you kindly. When I got the bill, I was shocked at how much it was. I thought almost €100 was excessive.

Yesterday we dined at Ballaró Ristorante. We had a choice of two wines, which ultimately cost €12 per glass. We later discovered that other guests could order cheaper wines. They don't usually offer a pizza menu; you have to ask for one. Unfortunately, my pizza was a real disappointment. The crust was hard to cut, overcooked to the point of being burnt, and the taste was also very disappointing, so that was a disappointment. We were seated near the kitchen's swinging door, which wasn't comfortable either. The service was initially friendly, but once it became clear you were interested in pizza, that quickly changed. Nevertheless, we paid €95 for two pizzas, four glasses of wine, and a bottle of water. In my opinion, it's overpriced.

Horrible experience! We came few min after 7pm. We could not order normal pizza. We were forced to order apataizer. Which was disgusting. Old bread. Than overpriced for the quality main. Pasta that my other half ordered was so bad ... I have tasted it and 3 h i still have this Horrible taste... such a waste of money

Well, where do you start? That, out of 4 people, 1 was asked what she wanted to drink? That after 15 minutes the other 3 were asked something? That the beer bottles were placed without glass? That you then had to wait a very long time for the rest? Not that it was that busy, but the owner was busier, I assume, greeting regular customers and providing them with food and drinks. After finishing the very pricey dishes compared to quality and quantity, we thought we could score a dessert. First of course the dessert menu, which we indeed received after a while, but after 20 minutes with the menu in front of us, we decided that we had been ignored enough. Arrogance at its finest. Went home with amazement. Just had a coffee there. 😀

We sat outside and ate. I liked the location, very comfortable. I didn't like the food, it wasn't. I ordered lamb with truffle sauce, I got pasta with gravy and dry sausage slices. Everything didn't seem really fresh. Not recommended. Plates weren't cleared away in a timely manner either.

We had reserved a table 4 weeks in advance for 6:30 PM. At 4:30 PM we received a call that the restaurant was closed that day due to a technical malfunction and that our reservation could therefore unfortunately not go ahead. Friends of ours had also reserved a table that evening, but were not cancelled. I thought this was strange and went to Balaro at 5:30 PM and the restaurant was operating at full capacity. When I asked the waiter what was going on, he lied and said that the problem had "fortunately just been resolved". He had no explanation for the fact that there were already plenty of guests eating. When I asked him if we could come at 6:30 PM, he replied negatively because other people had already been booked on our table (after the disruption). When I asked why my friends hadn't canceled, nor had the people who were eating, he had no explanation and just walked away. When he returned minutes later, I confronted him about his lies. Finally he admitted that there was a double booking! He offered no apologies or any other time when we were welcome. This is apparently Balaro's service! I believe that if you want to be respected yourself, you should also RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS AND NOT LIE AND PERSIST IN DOING THIS WHEN YOU ARE CONFRONTED WITH THIS!

Really delicious dinner last night. The atmosphere is thoroughly Italian with a fantastically nice owner. The starters and pizzas were of bizarrely good quality. We really felt like we were in Italy!

Had a great evening at Ballaró. Delicious Italian/Sicilian dishes in an attractive environment with great service.

Unfortunately, a bad experience. I have some allergies to certain seeds. Not complicated, but intense when I get it. When ordering, the waitress indicated that they could not take into account traces in the food. She thought this was no problem. Of course it doesn't work that way with allergies and I tried to explain that to her. Then the owner indicated that he did not want to take responsibility and the cook was not there. He was very unfriendly about this and wanted to walk away halfway through the conversation. I asked what I could order. Nothing... nothing off the menu. He could make a spaghetti with oil and parmesan cheese. No further thought was given and he repeated in a raising voice that he did not want the responsibility. I have never experienced someone reacting so unfriendly and fiercely to my allergies. This even though I had already clearly indicated this when making the reservation. We did not eat here.

Everything freshly made. This makes everything pure, tastes and breathes the Italian atmosphere. Which is strengthened/created by the Italian staff. The surprise menu is especially recommended. Dietary requirements are taken into account.

Nice little Italian restaurant. Food is of good quality. Friendly service. The price is a real disappointment. Small plate of pasta for 26 euros and bruchetta for 15 euros is quite reasonable in my opinion. Decoration is nice too. Parking is difficult, so just look for a spot. Furthermore, a fine restaurant.

The food was certainly good, but for €23.00 for a pasta dish I can expect not to get a mouse portion on my plate.

This was so disappointing :( Was looking forward to a fun night out with my sister, but this place put a damper on the evening. The staff were uninterested teenagers. The service was slow so we thought the food at least had to be good. No such luck. Bruschetta was burned as well as soggy. Risotto was an oily soup. And bonus: turns out there was a dead fly at the bottom that my sister dug up midway through her meal. We got to not pay for the risotto, but there was annoyance in stead of an apology. Would not go again.

Unfortunately not such a good experience. Been here several times and had a great evening every time. But this time the food was tasty, but we were particularly dissatisfied with the service. We were tucked away in a corner and it took a very long time before we were served. We did not feel welcome, the service was not very cooperative and we had to adhere to certain rules that were not communicated in advance (such as not ordering pizza after 8 p.m.). Then it was all quite expensive, which was not in proportion to the service. Shame!

Nice place, there is a singing waiter. The food was really good, but 21 euros for a large portion, which wasn't big at all, was a bit too much. Personally, I wasn't full. P.S They have very good water.

March 30, 24 on this Saturday evening at 6:30 PM, I ordered 2 pizzas, I was informed that the pizzas could be picked up in 30 minutes. Went to the store at 7:00 PM and paid a lot for 2 pizzas, but the pizzas were not ready yet. In the meantime, I have seen customers order and leave. At 7:30 PM I asked where my 2 pizzas had gone. And the response I got was that it's busy, everyone makes mistakes. After waiting another 10 minutes for my pizzas, I was given the wrong pizzas. After waiting 1 hour, I asked if I could have my money back, and that request was denied. Final score: I received 3 cold pizzas that I did not order and had to pay a large amount for them! Shame!!

Nice food in itself. Very expensive for what was served. Moreover, there are rules and you cannot order 1 course, but at least 2. Main course took a very long time, apparently something had gone wrong, they could have also reported it. Service not very friendly, offended when we told them that after 2.5 hours of being inside we still had not had a main course. A little too much pretension for what it is.

It was very bad service. We waited 28 minutes for the order, and 1 hour 30 minutes for the food. The service staff was unfriendly and rude. We felt forgotten, nobody cared, the guests sitting in the corner with three small children. I don't recommend it. Low level and very poor "restaurant". We always pick up, truly one of the tastiest pizzas you will taste in the Netherlands. Much better than those cheap pizzas

Delicious food. At the end we ordered 4 limoncello (24 euros) and then we saw that everyone around us got limoncello on the house. Too bad we had to pay for this.

The food was delicious and plenty of choices on the menu. The portions were good, not too little but not too full either. We thought it was quite pricey for what we ate. Each person receives a dish, a sandwich beforehand and two glasses of drinks.

The food was okayish. But worst thing is they extort money. They force you to order an overly priced starter and a main course. 2 course is mandatory. I could have had similar pasta for half the price. Moreover, who charges 15€ for a starter. It is like italian mafia extortion. I didn't like my experience there.

Have eaten here several times now and picked up food. In one word: delicious. Both the containers that you receive from the takeaway service and the food in the restaurant are so good that we are happy to take a 45-minute detour for it! We have tasted the Pastas, Risotto, and just about every antipasti on the menu. And the somewhat surly Italian turns out to be an experienced and hospitable host. All in all, highly recommended!

This is much more than your standard pizza and pasta restaurant. Enjoy real Italian culinary delights with delicious dishes. We were surprised by the chef to put together a menu of all the highlights on the menu; recommended!

Nice Italian decor, but what we had had little Italian twist. Fish dish of the day was far too little for an expensive price. Rib eye was thin and too expensive: 34 euros. No more sequels for us.

Ordered food from Ballaro last Friday (as is often the case). A pizza with lamb and a lasagna. Both the pizza and lasagna were cold. In addition, the lasagna was swimming in béchamel sauce and the pizza was dry and black in several places at the bottom. We sent the restaurant an email with this complaint, but did not receive a response. Paid extremely expensive at 32 euros and anything but customer friendly. The last time for us.

Had a 3 course menu. The starter and dessert were delicious. Only the main course, cod fillet with cauliflower and broccoli, was not very Italian in my opinion.

A warm welcome, we were led to an uncovered table, which remained uncovered. The order was taken quickly. We ordered pizzas and a small starter. Starter was fine! Pizzas, on the other hand, were thick and soggy. The pizza gorgonzola had hardly any taste, the pizza divalo only tasted like the sausage. We had to ask for napkins twice, all in all an unkempt impression. Too bad, it could have easily been better.
