Incredibly antisocial waitress. On arrival a half-hearted greeting and while serving she doesn't say a word and looks very grumpy. Furthermore, our food was served after 1.5 hours and our drinks and sauces were not brought to us. Food was also burnt. Starters tasted great and I recommend it, but if you go there for meat I certainly don't recommend it!

Very bad restaurant I went by yesterday evening that Hazara lady was so angry at the time bad service went by for 7 hours 8:30 food brought kabab was completely burnt no cutlery no drinks brought we had to bring it ourselves and they were talking about us and was angry because I didn't have a reservation even though I sent an email, very bad service, antisocial people

If you miss your mom’s dishes, and if you like Afgan food, this is the place for you. The food was just amazing! We ate some hot starters, side dishes, main dish and deserts. All of them were super tasty. My favorite is the hot starter with the aubergine and mantu. I highly recommend this place. The prices are also very affordable.

Ordered food for 75 euros. The qabuli literally contained 4 small pieces of meat. And that for 15 euros! This is outrageous. Way too expensive for what you get, the salad isn't even Afghani. Shami kabab menu is very dry. Waste of money!

Ate here tonight. There was a group of about 20 ladies who were celebrating a birthday. That became very fun when the music came on and they started dancing. You felt like you were on holiday. The restaurant is spacious with sofas and chairs. I personally thought the light was a bit too bright. It was nice and warm inside. The people are very hospitable, The menu is very clear and everything looked delicious. We had a starter and as a main course I had the lamb shank, which was deliciously cooked, served with rice and a bowl of some kind of gravy. My wife had 2 skewers with minced lamb and minced veal from the grill. We were served another Afghan specialty on the house, veal ribs. This also tasted delicious. For dessert baclava with tea. The birthday boy from the ladies group brought us some of their cake and afterwards some dessert. That was of course very nice and tasty too. This restaurant also serves beer and wine, which we have experienced differently in another Afghan restaurant. This restaurant is definitely recommended and we will definitely go back in the new year.

Amazing food, both quality & taste wise. We had soope jo, ghorme sabzi & gheime. gheime could be a bit more sour, but that’s just my preference. Would recommend it to anyone who is into good food ☺️

Absolutely great! We ate delicious mantu here and the spinach was also delicious. Don't expect a fancy restaurant, but you really get value for your money here. The service is friendly and also gives good tips on what to order. For less than 20 euros you will be full here and what delicious flavors! We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. Excellent cuisine, reasonably priced. We had two appetizers (preferred the dumplings in tomato) and two plates, both palaws, one in green sauce and one in red, all good. I didn't know any of the dishes and was very pleased. A fair walk from the tram, over a km, a half hour in all from oostplein. Not elegant but tasteful, clean, comfortable.

Went to this restaurant last week. My daughter has literally suffered trauma. There was a big fly in her food (ghorme sabzi)! When reporting it they were very light-hearted about it, which was very disappointing. There is only one woman in that very large store, which makes the service very slow. Never again this restaurant for us.

We had to wait an hour and a half for our food and when the food finally arrived we still had to wait for our cutlery. Omg what a bad and unprofessional restaurant! We have been here for the first and last time. really… but really not recommended!! Food doesn't even match what they claim it is... namely they say it is lamb but my husband is a chef and literally tasted turkey or other soft meat. We indicated this and she confirmed it again!! Poor service, poor atmosphere, namely the older woman who was the owner was very grumpy and very rude to also ask us for money as a tip.

We had made a reservation for a birthday, but they still let people in even though we had already made a reservation and they gave our food and drinks to them even though that was not the intention. We asked if we could have tea before dinner and she got angry and said it had to be after dinner. I am from Bordeaux, staying in campanile hotel not far from Alexander for 3 nights. I walked to that restaurant Bamyan, diner was very good (kebab job idea) and not expensive at all. I will go again another night before to leave Rotterdam.

I just placed an order over the phone and unfortunately the interaction with your employee was very unprofessional. That's why I canceled the order! After placing my order by telephone, your employee called me back to confirm the address. During this conversation I indicated that I was still unsure about my order and asked to wait a while before the order was processed. However, much to my surprise, without any warning, your employee hung up the phone and left me without any proper goodbye or understanding of my situation. This lack of customer service is completely unacceptable and has left a very negative impression. I had hoped for a more respectful and professional approach on your part. I am very disappointed with this experience and sincerely hope that you take action to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future with better customer service and respectful treatment of your employees. You should definitely not overlook this place. It may be a bit hidden in a shopping center, but the food is really delicious. I had the tikka kebab with rice. The rice was really deliciously prepared and the kebab was also full of flavor. The staff is super friendly and cooperative. We had two vegetarians with us and they made special food for them, which was not on the menu. For dessert we also had the homemade cake and delicious black and Afghan green tea. All in all, definitely recommended. Give this restaurant a try, you definitely won't regret it! We will definitely come back again!

We were there for a few days over New Year and stopped here on our last night. Attended to by a warm friendly woman and seated immediately, although it wasn't busy at all. The food was absolutely delicious, hot and cooked perfectly... we're just sorry we didn't go more than once. At the end she asked if we were away on holiday, for a bit of polite chit chat and we explained that we were away for my wife and mother-in-laws birthday. She told us to wait a moment and walked away. The next thing we know is happy birthday was playing through the speakers and she was walking over with cake (also delicious) with a rather lively sparkler of some sort. Even other people in the restaurant wished them happy birthday. Brilliant experience, highly recommended and we'd go back if we're about.

Beste Afghanse restaurant in Rotterdam bedankt Bamyan culinary

Het was echt heerlijk! Zeker een aanrader.

Op vrijdagavond hier met 4 personen uitstekend gegeten. Het was erg rustig en dat zal door de locatie (ver buiten het centrum) komen, want aan het eten kan het niet liggen, dat was namelijk erg goed. Mijn ervaring met de Afghaanse keuken is beperkt tot Restaurant Kite (in het centrum), maar ik vond Bamyan Culinary vele malen beter. We deelden drie voorgerechtjes (mantu, aubergine en samosa) en eigenlijk konden we niet kiezen welke we het lekkerst vonden. Ook de hoofdgerechten waren top, zowel wat van de grill kwam (kebabe tikka, lamskotelet) als wat gestoofd was (kofte, gormeh sabzi) en de gekruide rijst was op zichzelf al onweerstaanbaar. De bijgerechtjes vond ik wat karig. We sloten af met groene thee met kardemom en saffraan, baklava (heerlijk, als ik mijn tafelgenoten moet geloven) en een soort custard-taart (niet mijn smaak, maar mijn man vond 'm wél lekker). De dame die ons hielp, sprak niet zo heel goed Nederlands, maar ze was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Tip : om mensen meer verschillende dingen te laten proeven, is het misschien een idee om een paar soorten mix menu's samen te stellen, waarbij je zowel wat van van de grill- als van de stoofgerechten serveert met een grote schaal rijst, mandje brood en enkele groente-/bijgerechtjes ?!?
