Saturday afternoon late they didn't have much left but what they had were delicious sandwiches

Wonderful bakery near the windmills. Everything is delicious. Highly recommended if you're passing by, both to buy and take home items and to eat there, although they only have four or five tables.

The 2 In 1 - De Nieuwe Bakkerij on the Zeestraat in Volendam is without a doubt the best bakery in - to be honest - the Netherlands! Bread is of excellent quality, e.g. pan white or Tuscany bread, bran bread or sunflower seed bread. Of course, there are also all kinds of cookies, such as the tasty peanut cookies, many packs of which have been eaten here, uhh... And flipping of course. Ice cream is sold on the right side of the store. The ladies are always cordial and service-oriented, even to 'jackets' like me. Would love to come there, every year!

SERVICE with a capital "C"! Friday evening, 6 p.m.... have you arranged pastries for tomorrow? Uh, no, you were supposed to, weren't you? ...well, not...and now? The Van Pooij shops were already closed, but I was still able to order pastries for the next morning. As usual, there were delicious cream puffs and an assortment of Petit Fours. And those Petit Fours and cream puffs are generously sized—not just one-bite cream puffs, because in Volendam, they don't like small, they like good! The Pastry, with a capital "C" was a hit with our guests. We no longer live in Volendam, but we still go to Volendam for many fresh products: bread, pastries, and even the butcher.
