BapBoss in Rotterdam Centrum

Waited an hour, just to have my order canceled.

Went to BapBoss for the first time after the big social media hype and were looking forward so much!! We did shared dining with everyone. First thing when we looked at the menu, many dishes were “out of menu”. We actually went for certain dishes and they were not available. This is not even stated on the website so we were disappointed when we looked at the menu. The servers were polite and attentive and gave us extra bowls to do the shared dining which was very kind service. The food we had were okay. Best dishes were the fried chicken we had and the tofu set. The hotteok dessert was also good and tasted great. Other dishes we ordered were a bit disappointing. We are used to a certain Korean standard quality because we’ve been to South Korea several times and sadly it did not come to our expectations. The jjampong was so-so, totally not spicy at all. The noodle soup looked so red but there was barely any spice and it smelled very strong ‘cause of the mussels. Jjampong is originally quite a very hot noodle soup dish (spice level 2-3) and this was not the case. The bulgogi beef dish was very dry, they gave us a mountain of bulgogi beef and on top of it was even very dry. Also odd to see mushrooms in it. Hopefully you’ll improve by updating your website to let people know which dishes were not available and improve the original dishes because the food that came are expensive and it did not go beyond our expectations. For us, this place was sadly really an overhyped social media place, BapBoss deserves another chance but for now it’s not a place we’d come back anytime soon.

I guess it's because Koreans cook the food, but it suits my taste when I'm traveling. The chicken is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice.

Best korean dishes ever in Netherland (including Amsterdam) my favorits are Jjamppong and Patbingsu. Also give a big aplause to the waiter!!

This was my second time at BapBoss, and I found the same quality and kindness as the first time a year ago. The kimchi was excellent. We ordered two full meat dishes (pork and chicken) and side dishes with various vegetables. Both meats were excellent, but the vegetables were a bit bland and a bit bland. A small, venial sin.

My rate: 3/5. I have heard about this restaurant for years and finally i could visit it. To be honest, the food quality does not match their fame. At a fan of bossam, i was so excited but it turned out boring and bland. They could have made the dish better. Seafood pancake was ok. We ordered sweet and spicy chicken but it looked and tasted like soy garlic. We asked the waitress and she confirmed its correct. Jjamppong was so so, the flavour was not a wow. Kimchi was very salty. Bingsu was ok, good to share. The service was not the best. One waitress was clumsy and careless. Its hard to communicate with her and to get her attention.

If you love spicy food try their jjukumi ppokkeum (spicy baby octopus). I also love their soy & garlic chicken.

Not bad for a Korean restaurant gathering. Just don't expect too much. Still, it's a Korean restaurant I recommend.

Very tasty and authentic Korean food! Lovely restaurant close to Oostplein and the center of Rotterdam. Two shift timeslot system for reservations. Simply call and book your table. Very friendly service, menue with picture and hints (some dishes are for more than 2 people). Tried something traditional and had some boneless chicken. Food was served quite fast and also good. Some dishes were sold out (marked in the menue). We were so full that we didn’t have any desserts. Cashless payment accepted.

High end prices, mid food. Ate the bulgogi traditional and the seafood pancake. The bulgogi was good; it's quite a simple dish tho. The accompanying lettuce leaves was only 3 pieces, I mean this is obviously not enough lol. The seafood pancake is 20 euros and for what u get that seems overpriced. It's just a thick doughy seafood pancake that's fried on the bottom - not flipped. It lacked some taste for me, also quite oily. Furthermore ordered rice and kimchi as sides. Me and my partner are not big eaters, but the sides are on the small side. Just doesn't vibrate Korean vibes to me.

The food was just okay. We tried the cold spicy noodles, which were decent. The bulgogi was a bit dry and lacked flavor. Thankfully, it wasn’t overly sweet, which can be a problem at other places. The kimchi wasn’t great either. It tasted a bit flat and didn’t have much depth. We also had the pancake, which was underwhelming. The ratio of batter to filling seemed off, with too much wheat compared to the ingredients. We went early, so we didn’t experience the ventilation issues others have mentioned. The service was good, and the personnel was friendly. The indoor atmosphere was pleasant. The restroom was clean, which was appreciated. They do have outdoor seating, but I wouldn’t recommend it since it’s right by an avenue.

Spontaneously walked in with three people and had a delicious meal. Some dishes were not in stock, but were immediately indicated, which is a good sign for me. Very friendly help. Spicy is nice and spicy but not burning hot. We will definitely come back here!

The food was nothing special. And I got food poisoning, kept throwing up all night with diarrhea.

The whole restaurant is dining in kitchen smoke and smell and you’re constantly inhaling smoke.

They have interesting authentic Korean food choices but our bibimbap was literally half filled and the pancake was really oily. The taste was good in overall but we missed the banchan (staple condiments like kimchi, radish etc.) Too bad their extraction system is not working well, because our clothes reeked after dining here.

Cozy and authentic Korean restaurant with a wide choice of dishes. Actually, all the dishes we ordered were tasty and traditional, but the galbi 🥩 and baby octopus 🐙 were my favorites. The service was fine, but keep in mind that your clothes will smell because of the open kitchen.

everything that we ordered was so yummy, we inhaled them all, no crumbs left. the lady was so nice, she taught me how to eat my dalgona bingsoo properly, love you queen and i will come back soon. it is best to make a reservation even in the weekdays cus this place gets real busy. place is also kind of tiny so when it gets busy it also gets a bit too loud for me but it was still a vibe.

Lovely Korean food, we ordered a little too much for two people but very happy with food and service. The menu is hard to find in Europe and UK.

Went with my mother, and had a nice and delicious evening. Friendly service and the chef invited me to take a look in the kitchen. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. The food was delicious and tasteful. The presentation of the plates was also very professional, and tasteful sight. Too bad I didn't have my mobile with me. Give the evening and experience a big 10.

BapBoss came well recommended and didn’t disappoint! We started with the makgeolli, served cold in a metal tea pot—very refreshing. With two people, we shared one main and two sides—mandu and fried chicken—and were fully satisfied. Some of the best Korean food we’ve had here.

What’s happened over the years? I visited this place after 5 years, carrying good memories from the last visit. This time we ordered Jjamppong and Jeyuk bokkum. Both were really disappointing. The former was so bland, with the unfresh squid. The extra rice I ordered was completely waterlogged, 떡밥, you know? The place seriously needs some ventilation.

One of the most authentic Korean restaurants in NL, food is always really good and high quality. Such nice customer service and special thankyou to the lovely waitress with short hair. We had a great time thanks to her :)

Oh my goodness, that seafood soup and kimchi are so delicious! You feel that the cooking here is done with passion. I have eaten here several times over the years, but I am still more than satisfied. Good quality, so it is understandable that you pay a little more for it.

The ventilation is very bad. Food smells got on the clothes......food/price ratio does not match.....expensive....

First time visiting, and I’d say the steamed pork is a must-order. The pork was cooked perfectly, and the kimchi and vegetables were fresh and flavorful. However, the fried chicken was a bit mild in taste, as was the pancake. That said, they did include plenty of seafood in the pancake, making it enjoyable overall.

I've enjoyed every visit to Bapboss. My fav little Korean restaurant that I've visited several times when in Rotterdam.

I went here first time and it was a great experience. The food were all good and the staff were super nice and friendly. Even though the place was small and it got crowded, I was still feel comfortable and had fun with my friend.

A small but fine restaurant. Very friendly staff that comes by every now and then and asks if everything is ok. The food itself was very tasty, but the food wasn't delivered at the same time, so you had to wait a bit. The portions are a bit small for the price, but they're still tasty and you'll be full in the end. Dishes are limited, not too much choice. As I said, a little more expensive, but still very tasty.

Seriously, such good Korean food! I've never been to Korea, but I only compare it to the ones I tried in the Netherlands. You gotta give it a shot. Was totally worth it for us 😁

I ordered a bottle of water for 9 euros without informing me in advance. I would like to add: For those of you who are good at doing business, if a consumer mentions it to you, just give him a bottle of water. We won’t pursue it if we are in a good mood. The people in this restaurant insist on telling you the truth and stick to it. Got the meal-style (separate) Bibimbap (with stir-fried ribeye). Meal size was filling. It already included 4 side dishes (vegetables and salad) and a small omelette plate.

Good Korean restaurant. Limited menu but with some signature dishes. Dishes were all yummy. Ventilation inside is not good at all, I would love to sit outside if there is a choice. Reservation is the must.

Nice place, nice food. However, the kitchen extractor system is ridiculous. What a nuisance smell, even when you go to other places. All your clothes smell like food. Drama.

Authentic Korean food, very much worth the price! Fried chicken is insanely delicious, and their seafood soup was the best, lots of tofu and just the right amount of spiciness. This is a truly delicious Korean restaurant cooked by a traditional Korean chef! The sweet and crispy fried chicken that is delicious anytime and the spicy and chewy tripe and pig's feet are also very delicious. Finish with snowflake shaved ice! It was a perfect and happy dinner. We recommend that you make a reservation.

As a Korean I guarantee this place is the best Korran restaurant at least in Rotterdam. The food quality is way above my expectation!

Really nice Korean restaurant, the best in Rotterdam if you ask me!

Small restaurant, but a really delicious meal with my friends. We selected several mains and some side dishes and we all ate them together. Really delicious! Only we sat close to the door, there was a curtain around it. But every time it opened, a cold could pass through. That was less, but there was no criticism of the food!

Lively little Korean place. Staff is super friendly and the dishes and menu seem to be authentic Korean, although I would not really know myself. We had some great fried chicken with ‘hot as hell’ sauce which was a correct label. And some super soft pork belly, some beef bulgogi and of course kimchi. Shaved ice for desert. Excellent, will try and make it back here some time.

Very pricey! Friendly staff! Tasty and close to traditional taste but NOT traditional service where the food comes with kimchi and rice by default! They charge for anything comes as side, even the extra sauce!

Food was tasty but not nutritious and also really expensive. I paid almost 60 euros for some salad, some rice, some chicken, three shrimps and three dumplings. I won't order from here again.

The food tastes ok, it's an authentic Korean restaurant. But the service was not good, we spent more than 200 euros. We just wanted to spend our birthday in the store and have a cake, but the waiter said that you need to order an extra drink for each person to spend your birthday in the store.

Food is very good. Service could be a little better. They forgot a dish. 9 euros for a bottle of sparkling water is really too much.

Came here for dinner with a bunch of people. The service was super friendly and the food was superb. I had the Jeyuk Ppokkeum and it was divine! The pork was melt in the mouth. The portions were more than enough. For dessert I had Bingsu, and it's not easy to find it everywhere but they had it here.

Ate here last week with a friend. Food was quite okay and service nice. We had Korean pancakes with different types of fish in them. My girlfriend and I both got sick at home that evening and vomited quite a bit. It seems the fish was no longer good. I then emailed about this, with the aim of informing them (so that they can, for example, get rid of the fish and stop making people sick), but I did not receive any response. I think I thought that was the worst thing, that they So apparently not scared by that.

Amazing food and lovely service. Loved the seafood pancake and the drumstick. The kimchi was also amazing! We will come back, to try the rest of the menu, soon.

Really nice food, the seafood pancake perfect full of various seafood , tasteful pig’s trotters (jokbal), the only remark is that the side plate with garlic and peppers was not enough and should have been more without extra charges …

I bought raw marinated crab one portion 25 euros. I bought 2 portions. It only had 2 small crabs and some shrimps. That’s crazy that for 4 small crabs you pay 50 euros also the taste was lacking

I normally don't order Korean Fried Chicken here because it's a bit expensive (~€17) but there was a 1+1 deal and life is too short to not try new restaurants, I ordered Sweet Chili Chicken and it was one of the best chicken i've had! The taste is extremely addicting and the chicken falls from the bone without any hassle, it just melts in my mouth! I will definitely order again if there is more deals like the 1+1!

总的价格还可以人均30多欧，一瓶白葡萄酒20欧多一点，算很良心价格。肘子，铁板肉，豆腐汤都挺好吃的，凉拌面一般，最不推荐炸鸡。刨冰也好吃，就是8欧多这个价格来说有点小碗。

Authentic Korean restaurant, which is really runned by Koreans. Their dishes are a bit different than standard Korean menu’s, like jokbal (pig’s feet, lots of collegeen), bossam (boiled pork belly), Samgye Jeongol (Korean ginseng chicken soup), LA galbi (beef short ribs) recommend, Song galbi (veal spare ribs), etc. So they don’t have a lot of choices in standard dishes, like pajeon (only choice), no japjae ❌ (fried sweet potato noodles), no sikhye ❌ (Korean rice drink). If you want to try out different Korean dishes than the normally provided by other Korean restaurants like Man Nam, Gamasot, Gangnam. Do keep in mind, it is always busy so a reservation is needed especially for dinners. Even with reservation you need to finish your dinner within 2hours. They also mind rush you to finish some dishes, because they don’t have enough plates, especially the big plates or special plates. It is a small restaurant so do make reservation at least a week before, especially for big groups, like a party of 6 or more. Would recommend to try this Korean restaurant out at least once, especially compared to Man Nam. If it is fully booked, you can consider a take away. Order a delivery is extremely difficult since most of the time they are closed or unavailable via Thuisbezorgd or Uber.

Authentic, tasty, excellent and friendly service; but a bit pricy We were looking for a good Korean restaurant in Rotterdam and we decided to come to this place because of the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed 😋 We ordered the kimchi, the pajeon and the bulgogi. Everything was delicious and portions were huge. On the less positive note, we didn’t get any side dishes or rice which are additional. And They charge 2€ per portion for the lettuce.. which is literally 5 leaves of lettuce. And many dishes are « sold out » on the menu, which is a pity. We finished on the Binsu 🍧 which was bomb. Overall we had a great time ! 4,5/5 ⭐️ Booking reservations recommended

the bansang chadolbaki doenjangjjigae was so good! the side dishes were amazing too! we did have to wait a little long for the food but it was totally worth it.

Authentiek Koreaans Eten! Lekker authentiek eten. Knus dus van tevoren reserveren. Goede porties. Het regende die dag. Beet root thee besteld. Die was ook lekker. Ik weet niet meer hoe de gerechten heten (de andere tafelgasten hadden besteld). Zie de foto’s De verse kimchi was voor mij samen met de seafood pannekoek en de sticky knoflook kip favoriet. Dus niet de bekende ingemaakte kimchi die je er vaak standaard bij krijgt in een kommetje. Deze was overigens ook lekker. Bediening en keukenbrigade werken hard en zijn vriendelijk. Ik vermoed dat de bediening en het grootste gedeelte van de keukenbrigade incl. chef Koreaans zijn. Het authentieke is daarmee om die reden al helemaal ✅. Bestellen in het Engels. Vergeet ze daarom niet een fooi te geven als je tevreden bent over je bezoek. Top: - Authentiek en knus - Vriendelijke service Tip: - Reserveer van tevoren - Sommige gerechten waren wat aan de zoete kant. Maar misschien hoort dat bij het recept. Iets minder suiker in gerechten leidt tot nog betere smaak (dit is persoonlijk). - Het regende die dag. De deur sloot niet goed. Manier vinden om de deur goed te laten sluiten (+ blaadje op deur plakken met verzoek deur goed te sluiten?). Ging een aantal malen open en daarna niet goed dicht. mede ook voor bezorgers. Daardoor ook kouder door tocht in de ruimte.

De bibimbap en de seafood pancake zijn echte aanraders! Als je hier komt voor de kip zou ik ergens anders gaan want het is vooral gefrituurd deeg. Ik had de sweet and spicy boneless chicken en het smaakte vooral naar zoete stroop. De mandu’s waren ook niet zo lekker je kunt proeven dat het gewoon diepvries mandu’s zijn. De groene thee cakeroll zou ik ook niet bestellen 6,25 voor een dun plakje cake wat heel basic smaakt en de groene thee smaak was er amper uit te halen. Voor de rest was de service wel oke.

The bapboss korean restaurant offers great korean food . It is not cheap however the bimibap and the bulgogi are great and have that authentic korean taste. We rang an hour early and they told us they wouldn't prepare in advance to maintain quality. That is the kind of attention for food we like. The food was fresh and delicious. Thanks bapboss we really enjoyed your taken away food

El lugar es agradable y el servicio también pero pedimos el jangban-Jajang y era completamente distinto a lo que muestran en la foto. No tiene pock choi las verduras son solo pepino y col, está inundado en salsa y tiene 5 nudls ( poquitos) es casi todo calamares y salsa. Sólo decir que las fotos no son representativas de lo que vas a recibir.

Absolutely amazing experience! - stuff: they are the nicest & sweetest ever. We came with no reservation and they did everying to les us stay - food: had baby octopus’s for €15/person and it worth it! So delicious and unique - atmosphere: very well-preserved Korean feeling. Loved it
