Bar Bellini in Oude Pijp

My best friend and me had lunch her. Wonderfull 'broodjes' and good house wine. Service was friendly, quick and 2-the-point. When we were there, we were the only guests. Seems a shame for such an excellent place to have lunch.

The food was absolutely fantastic and very creative, definitely not your typical menu. The personnel were super friendly, attentive, and genuinely connected, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a thoughtfully designed sound-absorbing ceiling. Even though the restaurant was full, the noise levels were perfect, allowing for great conversation. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for exceptional food and a warm, relaxing environment!

We went there on Boxing Day so the restaurant was working with a Christmas menu. The food is good but priced really too high for what it is. It felt like bistro food to us, which would have been completely fine if the pricing had been a bit lower. We had a beetroot salad for starter (quite simple and if you don't like beetroot this one is lost on you), truffle gnocchi (good) and monkfish (too salty) for intermediate course, duck for main (this one really nicely surprised us!) and pumpkin cake for dessert (lovely, though again quite simple). We appreciated the complimentary ciabatta and water. The champagne and the wine could have been served more chilled. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, though because the restaurant was packed and the tables so close to each other, you may be bothered by the waiters constantly walking fast next to you. The chairs can also feel pretty uncomfortable (they were for me), but we felt lucky we reserved early enough to have the option to sit at a table still because we would not have liked to be sat at the bar, which seemed to be the only option left if you just booked later. The staff was very polite and enthusiastic, however one of the waiters was checking in so often with us to ask how everything was and to refill our (already full) glasses of water that it became a bit annoying. There was also a little mishap with the service because our main was being served before the intermediate course, so we informed the staff hereon, who returned to the kitchen with the main. We then waited 20-30 minutes for the intermediate course to be served (nobody checked in with us during that time), which arrived with no word of excuse or other explanation. We understand of course this can happen and we were not outraged by it but service wise it could have been handled better. Overall we were not that impressed with the food, mostly because we expected better for the price we paid. We did enjoy the main course very much though. We will probably not come back for the food but to try the cocktails which did look very good.

Lovely but a few problems. Been to Bellini a few times and they food is always tasty. My girlfriend and I had a nice night. We were really happy to see French wine options, which is new since I was last here. We were interested in drinking the Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin and the Pommard. We asked for a bit of advice on the subtle differences between these two wines at a similar price point (150 euro per bottle). Unfortunately we were told they are the same, which the poor advice would later make sense after we met the bar manager. We decided to drink the Gevrey-Chambertin wine and it was great. As we were having a lot of fun we also ordered the Pommard and it’s clearly not the “same” wine. We were moved to the bar and met the bar manager and it made more sense why there was little interest to explain the difference in these two beautiful but very different wines. My girlfriend also asked for a pornstore martini cocktail and the bar manager rudely said “we don’t serve these here and you can choose something else off our menu”. It was very rude and arrogant. Understandably it’s a business decision and that makes sense as you we later walked down the sister restaurant Lolita and got our porn star martinis. But the point is that you make your customers feel good and this is hospitality were being hospitable is the main aim. 440 euros later, for 2 people, in the Pijp Amsterdam and all I am left with is the bitterness of the bar managers attitude & incompetence.

Been coming here for ages and the atmosphere, service and location are great! The service really takes the time for you and is genuinely concerned about the quality of drinks and food. Some cocktails are less tasty in terms of taste, but they are technically good and well thought out. This combination has something to it and makes it fun because you really taste new things. Now I can say that the prices of the food are on the high side and this is really sad; literally 5 noci (pasta) for almost 30€. We also had several starters and dessert. The taste is really great. Only price and quality simply cannot and should not be considered if you compare this to other restaurants in the Netherlands (okay, I won't mention Italy at all). It's a shame that I was really full afterwards at McDonalds across the street. Ultimately, you come for the food and then being hungry is just a shame (hence the rating). But as always they are full, we had a great evening and money is money, so good for the owner! Ps: ChatGPT I appreciate your responses to all other reviews, I'm curious about this one.

The price for a main course is way too much for what you get. Ordered the gnocchi, was mostly mushrooms and maybe 8 gnocchi. This was priced at 29 euro! Totally not worth it. Ordered bread and was given cold, burned focaccia. A year ago I would have said this is one of the more consistently good restaurants around. No longer.

The food and location were great. Good drinks and a good gluten-free bread as an option for one of us. The food was tasty and the wine was nice. However though the service weren’t the best. When we arrived we just got a snack menu, not informed if there would be a dinner menu coming up or not. After some snacks we got a dinner menu but got confused when the waitress said the kitchen were closing just a few minutes later (even though it was only 8 o’clock and we had a dinner reservation at 7). The staff weren’t too friendly or welcoming. The main dishes portions were very small which also wasn’t anything we got informed about. We left the place still hungry.

We had a dinner tonight at Bar Bellini for my husband's birthday and the food, coctails and the atmosphere were way below our expectations and what they announce on their instagram page. I had monkfish which was extremely untasteful, full of cream sauce.. and the amount of fish was so little it was hard to find it on my plate. The pork chop my partner had was raw and super hard. 1st whisky sour coctail was ok, second one had so much citroen it made me cough for 10 minutes! It was unvelievable... we haf to pay 100 euro for this super poor experience and go to another restaurant beacuse we were hungry!! And tried to celebrate the birthday there.. it was an awful experience and i am thinking how dare do you charge a reservation fee of 40 euro for such a bad food and coctails... i regret that i went there by looking only to instagram page and reading fake reviews...

Citrus gin tonic..with grapefruit lemon is extraordinary

This is the best bar in de Pijp. Their menu is not big but all is very delicious. I always eat carpaccio ( not only) and the taste is always nice🤤. Seating at the bar is so fun. And their espresso martini is best best in the town.

The concept seemed very promising, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The menu was confusing, the service didn’t live up to expectations, and the quality-to-price ratio just wasn’t there. Overall, it didn’t meet the standards we were hoping for.

This is one of my favorite spots in the Pijp area. It’s a charming place where I regularly go to have coffee, eat, or grab a drink. The tables are quite close together, so it’s not ideal for large groups as there isn’t a lot of seating space. It’s more comfortable for couples or a small group of friends. There’s a nice bar, an open kitchen, and good music. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by!

Service was efficient and friendly and the food we received very tasty. However the dishes are served without sides, ( of which you are not informed) and when we subsequently ordered side dishes these never arrived

Wat een gezelligheid! Top eten, heerlijke wijn en een hele leuke professionele dame die ons bediende. Naast de kaart ook nog heerlijke gerechten dus kiezen waa moeilijk. De carpaccio, foccacia rn salade als ‘share voorgerecht’ zijn een must! En met NZ lijn ben je er zo!

I gave 5 just because it is limited up to it!! For our 10th year anniversary, we chose Bar Bellini ❤️ Staff greated us and paid attention to our notes on the reservation.. Polite, pro service ✨ Cocktails were great 🍸🍹 And we had one of the best dinner experience, we had in Amsterdam 🤘

We sat at the beautiful bar and enjoyed incredible drinks. The bartenders were very friendly and even let us have a sample of the espresso martini when I mentioned how good it looked. We recommended it to others visiting Amsterdam since we enjoyed it so much.

This place offers nice selection of starters and mains, all delicious. 4 stars because they offered steak “out of the menu” which in the end was EUR 80. Average price of mains on the menu was EUR 20-30. So, I think many people got surprised to see a substantial fee on their bill.

The service there is a little weird, we got a dinner reservation and when ordering we asked if we need to order from the menu. The waiter didn’t give us an answer but took our order from the menu + an item that was off the menu. A minute later another employee came up to us to scold us for making a dinner reservation but only ordering “snacks” as they referred to it, although we had ordered from the menu (apparently not enough). This very unpleasant situation would’ve been avoided if the waiter had answered our initial question, but the personel decided to go a different route and make it an unpleasant evening. If you’re considering going here, spare yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. There are plenty of good places in Amsterdam

When I was looking for a bar, I had been told to go to Bar Bellini and I wasn’t disappointed…Drinks? Good. Place? Fine. Atmosphere? Warm. But WHO made it an unforgivable moment ? Not a date but the barman AKA the most fascinating human being I have ever met. We loved watching him prepare the drinks (since I want to be a barmaid) and we loved asking him so many questions ! I hope he will be there when I come to Amsterdam again. PS : C’est drôle hein ?

Great find! My colleague and I were in Amsterdam for a work trip and stumbled across this restaurant, which was located close to our hotel. The restaurant has a great vibe and offers the chance to sit outside, which we took full advantage of. The menu is quite concise, but the food is high quality and flavourful. As starters we ordered the focaccia (delicious and warm!) with the melon and prosciutto - also very nice. For mains we had the veal schnitzel and a beef ragu with lemon and ricotta pasta. Every time I walk past, the restaurant is full. Thanks for a great dinner!

I don’t think I’ve ever been treated that bad by restaurant’s staff. We were not greeted, deliberately ignored and encouraged to leave. We literally couldn’t even say a word, felt like a cold shower. No idea what we did to deserve it but it seems that not being Dutch or white were our only “sins”. Our apologies guys, will never even pass by your place ever again.

This spot is excellent! The food is amazing - felt like a Michelin star experience. Highly recommend the linguini and the tomato dish! Shoutout to our bartender, Jacob. The dirty martinis were top notch

Moderate price to quantity ratio

I came by Bar Bellini for cocktails and an appetizer around 7:30pm today (a Tuesday). Service was very friendly; cocktails were great. There’s an extensive drink menu while the dinner menu is slightly more limited. A nice place to hide out from the rain. I was alone / solo diner and didn’t feel rushed out at all. Plenty of bar seating (maybe 20 spots) and the vibe was really nice. Would come back again!

The food is beyond. Small, rich and flavourful dishes. Cocktails are top notch. High quality. The energy is vibrant and staff is very accommodating. Little strict if you don’t have a reservation but I guess a buzzing place of this measure can be stressing. Turning into a bar with nice music while you can dance or lounge then head to the club.

The food was really top notch, one of the best pasta dishes I've tasted in a long time! Good service and even though we were a large party (7 people) we did not feel inconvenienced. Everything went super smooth.

Food is absolutely stunning. Well presented and beautiful products used. Very inspiring, original and diverse specials each day, thought up buy the chefs daily. Underrated food if you ask me. Service, wine and cocktails also great, but would give the food 6 stars if I could.

I recently went to Bellini restaurant in De Pijp and my experience was nothing short of phenomenal! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and immediately felt at home. The ambiance is cozy and stylish, a perfect balance between modern and classic. The food? Unbelievable! Every bite was a flavor explosion and it was clear that the dishes had been prepared with a lot of love and care. The fresh ingredients and the refined presentation made it complete. I must say, the risotto and tiramisu are highly recommended! But what really made my evening unforgettable was the excellent service led by the manager Bas. He made sure everything went perfectly and nothing was missing from our table. His eye for detail and customer focus are admirable. Bas, your dedication and passion for hospitality shone through in every interaction. You really added a special touch to our evening and for that I would like to thank you very much. I can't wait to come back to Bellini and enjoy the delicious dishes and exceptional service again. This restaurant is a gem in the Pijp and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Lovely sunny terrace with great wine, cocktails and snacks!

This was my second time at Bar Bellini and I dont think I will come back. First time was in January and I gave 5 stars because the food and service was really nice. This time it was terrible. We ordered some coctails at the bar and I need to admit that bartender was really polite and cocktails were good but to order food he asked us to wait for his colleague. So we were waiting and waiting, in the mean time new guest were being served. At some point he was walking close enough to our table that we asked him if we can order. Food was mediocre, we ordered gnocchi, some pasta with mashrooms and artichoke. No one came to us asking if we liked the food or want to order more drinks. We were out of water and it was a hot day and I had to ask two times before we got more. I saw some of stuff members watching the game and Netherlands was playing with Austria that day but come on. We were there 2 hours and we had a reservation but at some point another waiter started to ask us if we are done which was also kind of rude. As a place where you have to pay upfront to reserve a table it is just not worth it to be threated this way.

First time I was here it was a nice experience but today it was the complete opposite. We waited about an hour to order food and the service was very impersonal and rushed. The gentleman behind the bar was the only one who was friendly. The food was tasty but the service wasn’t good at all.

Top spot in the heart of the pleasant De Pijp neighborhood. Within a year it has grown from a new place to one of Amsterdam's hotspots. Always good to have a nice meal with a whole group of friends or on a date with just the two of you, later in the evening it's a party!

Dinner at Bar Bellini was fantastic. My partner and I went out for dinner on a rainy Wednesday and we got a spot right by the windows. The candles and lighting of the space made it so cozy. I definitely recommend trying the specials. Finished with the best Tiramisu!

Very expensive compared to what you get. Orders often arrived late after we had to remind staff of our order. Nice decoration but not worth the price in my opinion.

Restaurant no comment. However, I came here for a drink after midnight on Saturday: 11-5-2024 (or at least attempted to). What stood out: 2 gentlemen at the door. We waited outside for 10 minutes (ladies went straight in). Gentlemen create “hype” and keep them waiting. After standing outside for a while, the only way to get in right away was with a cash exchange. In 5 minutes we saw €70 in cash given to enter. Bellini please do something about this, you don't want this on your front door.

We had a super nice and cozy stay here, the time flew by while enjoying good cocktails. Definitely come back here again! Tip: Reservations are necessary.

Great resturant with lovely atmosphere. I found that the food was overpriced for the quality and portion size. Other than that a lovely atmosphere and good staff and service.

Good food and drinks. However, from the second we sat down, we were informed on four separate occasions that we had to leave by 20.45. I had no problem with this, but the constant reminders made us feel awkward as guests who had also put down a €20 deposit before we even stepped foot in the restaurant. We are not people you’ll have to shoo away, we are paying guests. Unfortunately creates an unwelcoming atmosphere.

Very nice place, especially during the week, when it is not overcrowded, but pleasantly busy. Most people come there for the delicious cocktails, but the food is also a real treat! Very tasty dishes to share. The staff was very professional and pleasant. It's quite pricey, but totally worth it.

Cozy place and the shared dining concept is fun with friends. I thought the menu was mediocre, the quality really varied per dish. Definitely prepared with care, but not entirely my favorite... but of course it is also a matter of taste. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Really enjoyed the last two times I was here. Especially good cocktails, the food is nice as well. Portions are small (except for the carpaccio) so keep that in mind when ordering

Nice tent, sitting here on the terrace on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Service not service oriented and a very arrogant attitude. Lunch and drinks were fine. In my opinion, due to the attitude of the staff, you are missing out on returning guests and therefore turnover.

Bar Bellini The restaurant looked attractive. I came there for drinks. Unfortunately the service was not that good, we sat at the bar and it took a very long time before we could order drinks and get the bill. I also found the range to order a glass of red wine very limited as there were many different wines on the menu. You are forced to order a bottle. Prices are on the high side, but this should be offset by good/fast service and extensive choices. I cannot recommend this Bar at this time.

Initially I thought that only a bar was possible, in reality it is also possible to eat. The menu is very limited, but of excellent quality. The ravioli and pappardelle were made on site. Perfect cooking and seasoning. Good tiramisu. Friendly staff. Very clean place. I didn't give 5 stars only because there isn't a great choice on the menu. But it must be said that it is not a real restaurant. I highly recommend to have a nice time and eat quality food. The focaccia is very good.
