Le French Café - Javastraat in Indische Buurt West

We were there only for the drinks, it’s such a cute place with a nice vibe and friendly staffs! Would love to visit again for a dinner.

We left because if limited varieties of food and the inside area has no AC and tge outside infront of street construction

The food is ok, some food is smaller, bu the poulette is a good size if you are really hungry, the escargot are a 6/10 if you compare them with the escargot from france, the creppe suzete is very good, it tasty a bit like home and it is sweet with the syrup and the vanilla oce cream is a good duo.

We just happened past and found a spot for a drink. Very busy with dinners. Friendly staff. We'll try dinner here next time. Very warm inside.

Had a delicious meal at Le French Cafe last night. The monkfish was very good and the desserts are also very tasty. What really stands out is the fantastic service and attention from the staff. Top notch!

A lovely French restaurant with an authentic atmosphere and a nice menu. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. We had a perfect steak tartare with fries and a salad with asparagus and stracciatella. For dessert, a pavlova with rhubarb, strawberries, and fig/honey ice cream. The service is friendly and professional. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended; we will definitely eat there again.

Beautiful, atmospheric restaurant with well-executed details. You really feel like you are in Paris for a moment, where, incidentally, the portions are usually a bit larger. The service was sweet and attentive; one gum-chewing boy slammed the plates on the table without looking at us, which was a jarring moment. The food: The steak was pale, lacked aroma, and relied heavily on the tasty sauce. The green beans were very raw, and only a small portion tasted like anchovy butter. Otherwise, we had a pleasant meal!

Nice setting but substandard food. Service is also not what you expect for the price; having to ask for the menu yourself after waiting 20 minutes, etc. The eel was excellent, but the ribeye was a poorly cut piece full of tendons.

Dinner with friends, cozy spot, feels French, restaurant well-filled, welcoming service. Food was tasty (snails, tuna, eel, asparagus salmon, asparagus ham, crème brûlée). We will skip the Steak Tartare and the Pavlova next time. Point for improvement: ensure that nice French music plays from the speakers instead of that trendy noise.

Wow, good service still exists! And the food here is really good and tasty. Had a lovely evening, thanks to a good (and handsome) waiter.

Best lamb ever! Great oysters as entrance with cava, it was quite refreshing 😋 then we had the lamb with red wine and for dessert espresso martini with cheese plate 👌🏼

Really a nice atmosphere, with real candles on the table (nice touch), good lighting and a fair quantity of noise that allows you to have a conversation (to be verified when it will be full to be fair). Onion soup really good and tasty (right amount of Cheese, good job) and the Sausage with beans and wine sauce good too (suggestion for the chef is to really make the sausage hot otherwise when served at the table it could be already not enough warm). Not a fan (aka was not happy) with the Fries, too much McDonald style, ok portion but typically and clearly not fresh (pls chef confirm maybe I am wrong). The team is nice and super welcoming, so will try again for sure.

I'm a regular at Le French on Javastraat, and I'm happy to be there. I regularly come here with friends, business contacts, and people from my network. In fact, I'm here almost every month, and I always recommend Le French enthusiastically. Unfortunately, my last visit was very different from what I'm used to. I was there on a quiet Thursday evening with a business contact, and just as I was telling them how good the service usually is, the reality turned out to be disappointing. The service was without a doubt the worst I've ever experienced here. The two staff members seemed preoccupied with themselves and literally forgot to serve us. It took ages for an order to even be taken, and we ended up waiting about 45 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant was barely full. Our side dish wasn't served until five minutes later, with the explanation that "the kitchen had to clean up first." When I expressed my regret about the experience and wanted to pay, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the bill—despite repeated requests. Unfortunately, that's not what I expect from Le French, and certainly not what you hope for on a business evening.

The ambiance was fantastic, the food was delicious, and if you really want to experience what hospitality truly is, you've come to the right place. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely personal. In short, a fantastic experience!

Ate here for my partner birthday and we loved every minute. The atmosphere, food and staff were top notch. I would recommend the snails starter and we’re still thinking about that chocolate mousse dessert we got. Plus they really took care off my partners birthday dessert, everyone from floor and bar staff sang, it was great. Will definitely be back!

Almost 5 stars, but someone serving with a hat on! Seriously! What a huge dissonance. Otherwise, a fantastic Parisian bistro experience, and all just a 20-minute train ride away. We really felt like we were in Paris until the hat came along. I wonder if the owner of this gem in the east of the city is aware of this 😉…

This is the way. Chefs don't change the recipe please. Except for maybe adding profiteroles to the menu. The crevettes are perfect, steak frites delicious.

We thought the food was excellent! The service was also initially good, but we gradually lost interest: we even went to the bar to order wine... The—otherwise delicious—tarte tatin was a bit burnt, and we reported it, but no one responded. All in all, we will definitely be back!
