What a joke, ordered “big” shawarma and it was a tiny portion and just terrible overall. Scam

I've ordered from this restaurant many times, and if you don't specify in the comments that you don't want overcooked fries, you can just assume you'll get them. This time, as usual, I ordered a large shawarma platter, which the two of us can always share. I opened the bag, and it's clearly not a large platter. I called about this, complaining that I usually get much more, but this time it's incredibly small. The man on the phone kept insisting he'd 100% given me large fries. After going back and forth, explaining that I've ordered from here before and never received such small amounts (often overcooked), he insisted on sticking to his guns. Fine. The solution I finally got was, "Next time, you'll get extra fries." Next time??? Here's the review they deserve. I'll also add the burnt fries from last time.

I've been coming here for years, and they've been here for years too. Delicious shawarma dish. Various sauces, delicious garlic sauce.

They are open until 1am but the kitchen closes at 12:30am, so after 12:30am you can't get food, not even takeaway.

The shawarma is very tasty. Only the garlic sauce is inedible.

Very disappointed. Two shawarma platter. Fries were way too hard and brown. Shawarma too greasy and seasoned differently. I have been buying food here for 10 years and currently find it not going well in the kitchen of zion. Too bad.

Very nice atmosphere and a good selection on the menu. I had the natural spare ribs, and they were outstanding. I highly recommend eating there.

Delicious food. You get value for your money. We've known Zion for I don't know how many years. The owner is really great! The nice thing about this place is that they play music by Andre Hazes.

We were 3 people for a sit down dinner from South Africa. Service was excellent, the food was awesome, the sweet ribs and falafel special were a great choice, the sauces were fresh and tasty…

One of the best eastern and western dishes in Amsterdam

I had the kebabs, and they were delicious. The rice that accompanies the kebabs is quite flavorful. The sauces are quite subtle and do not overpower the other flavours of the dishes.

Wat niet goed is dat zij expres (vaak) kippenvlees serveren omdat het goedkoper is terwijl wij lamsvlees hadden besteld. Wij uit Azië weten qua smaak zeer goed wat het verschil is tussen lams en kippenvlees. Dan smaakt het toch wat minder lekker zoals we gewend waren "Jammer"!!

Ordered a falafel dish and it was so good that I wrote this while eating! Firstly, the falafel is delicious and a lot of it! 12 pieces of Falafel, good fries, 3 sauces of your choice and a salad with olive and corn and dressing! Hummus is also included, but I don't like that so I got an extra pita! And that for €12.50. I am super satisfied and had a delicious meal. You definitely deserve 5 stars and you have a new customer!

Don't have anything delivered! They make the delivery person wait 20 minutes with your order so that they can also take an order from another customer.

Wir waren zwei mal zum Abendessen hier und hat bei beiden Besuchen sehr gut geschmeckt. Freundliches Personal und Essen kam immer sehr schnell. Am besten haben uns die selbstgemachten Sossen gefallen. Preis Leistung ist hier Top! Beim zweiten mal fiel 4 mal die Sicherung raus und wir sassen kurzzeitig im dunkeln aber durch die Kerzen auf den Tischen hatte es einen romantischen Touch und war halb so wild. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in der Nähe sind kommen wir bestimmt wieder.

Vanaf kinds af aan kom ik hier al. Het personeel is altijd erg vriendelijk en flot. We eten hier graag shoarma met amsterdamse gezelligheid op de achtergrond (andré hazes).

De shoarma schotel is goed ... en de patat is ook prima. Afrader : koop geen stokbrood kruidenboter je krijgt 5 kleine rot stukjes stokbrood.. en daar betaal je 4,50 voor.

Lokal von Aussen unscheinbar, sehr leckeres Essen( alle 4 Gerichte haben super geschmeckt) die 5 verschiedenen Saucen zu den Gerichten abwechslungsreich. Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Preis/Leistung absolut in Ordnung.

Ik ben al jaren niet meer geweest bij zion omdat ik niet in de buurt woon maar alles is nog even lekker als 43 jaar geleden toen ik er altijd na het stappen kwam eten! Aanrader!

This place is a like a timemachine back to the good old days where comfortfood wasn't a sin. The style of food here is the same as 40 years ago: same red onion sauce, garlic sauce and seasoning for the shoarma. The interior is well kept but looks equally dated, the music they play are old-fashioned songs from the 70s and 80s. Luckily you can still pay by card. Recommend if you're in for a tasty experience.

Erg lekkere shoarma! Niet zwaar gekruid en heerlijk mals. Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding en erg vriendelijk personeel.

Tolles Restaurant etwas außerhalb der Innenstadt. Die Fleischplatte für 2 Personen war gigantisch. Eine riesengroße Portion zu einem Super Preis. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir waren im Grillhouse Zion am Samstag 29. April 2023 zu Abendessen. Wir haben Grillplatte Zion für 2 Personen bestell, davon waren wir zu dritt satt und haben noch Fleisch nach Hause mitgenommen. Gerichte sahen wunderschön aus und schmeckten großartig, vor allem Saucen zur Fleisch waren köstlich. Wir empfehlen es jedem, weil bei Grillhouse Zion bekommt man ein leckeres Essen zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Vielen Dank an Personal und liebe Grüße.

Dit sfeervolle restaurant is nog "net als toen". Onveranderd gebleven en nog altijd helemaal top op alle vlakken. Er staan hier elke keer aardige mensen in de keuken en in de bediening. Iedereen groet even netjes. Je voelt je hier welkom. Dit is een gelegenheid voor iedereen. Het eten van de zeer uitgebreide menukaart is supervers. Dit is een unieke plek in deze buurt, waar we graag terugkomen!
