Honestly I don’t get the hype. The service felt rushed and a bit cold. Food was fine, nothing special and definitely not worth the price. The whole vibe just felt off. No warmth, no attention to detail, and definitely no reason to come back. There are way better spots in Amsterdam where you actually feel welcome and get your money’s worth

The best restaurant in Amsterdam ♥️ I Loved the ambience, the food and the service. It was just beautiful. I enjoyed my food so much that I had a happiest face after completing my food. The chef was super kind to make a mocktail for me with raspberries. I was super impressed. They had the best presentation of the food they served and also the bun of our burger was amazing, super fresh!!! I wish they could open a branch in London 🫶♥️

Business lunch on one of the busiest days of the year: Provada. I myself (fortunately) was not a visitor to this real estate fair, but my guest was. When making a reservation, I was on the waiting list, but a phone call the evening before provided a solution: a table for two. I often go to the sister of The Traveller Zuid (The Travelleer Zuidoost), but I had also been next to the RAI a few times. Despite the crowds, both the owner/host and the hostess personally welcomed me and my guest (nice: recognition). Sparkling water and a glass of wine were on the table in no time and the menu is clear and excellent. I had (as always) the Chicken Ramen, recommended/delicious, and my guest the Caesar Salad (also excellent). I can only say that The Traveller Zuid (but also The Traveller Zuidoost) is (are) an excellent place for a business lunch with a touch of personal contact.

We live nearby and often go here when we want to have a casual meal on a terrace, at the RAI in this case. Always surprises me positively. Nice service, excellent service and food and wines perfectly match the setting. We had a good evening.

What a nice surprise! Traveler combines a warm, relaxed atmosphere with attentive service and really good food. The salmon fillet on bread was perfectly cooked and tasty, and the dish with brides, avocado and poached egg was exactly as you would hope: soft, fresh and filling without being heavy. The bitterballen were also a success — crispy on the outside, full of flavor on the inside. The service was friendly and smooth, without being pushy, and the interior felt neat but casual. In short: a wonderful lunch spot in Amsterdam where quality and atmosphere come together. Recommended!

We ordered the 4 course menu around 5:45 PM, drinks and 1 bottle of water. The drinks were served quickly but the food was served very slowly. We had a concert at 8:00 PM and at 7:45 PM we had to leave hungry. Only received the first 2 courses of the menu. The bottle of water arrived about 1.5 hours after ordering. Everything was charged separately, no discount. Very unfortunate because the location and atmosphere were beautiful.

Although it looks big, it is nothing less. Very fast and friendly service (rarely found like this anymore). The menu has a lot of good dishes and unfortunately I couldn't taste everything. Although it is located near the RAI, the facility has a good ambiance both inside and outside. Every dish we had was really good and sometimes better than at some specialty places.

With a small group of 8 people, not very well welcomed. It's a pity because the restaurant is nice, with a lot of light and very close to the RAI parking entrance.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and discontent regarding the unacceptable treatment I received from the staff at your restaurant, Traveller, located at Scheldeplein RAI. My experience on Friday, March 27, 2025, around 7:00 PM was not only frustrating but also deeply unsettling. Upon entering the restaurant, I was abruptly stopped by a middle-aged woman with light hair, presumably the hostess. She physically grabbed my arm, preventing me from proceeding further into the establishment. When I asked why she was touching me in such an inappropriate manner, she curtly informed me that there was a party happening and that I could not go any further. I inquired if there were any available tables for one, to which she asserted that there were none for me. Despite the evident availability of tables, she insisted that I leave. Shortly after, another staff member, a fuller-figured woman with dark hair, joined her and echoed the same sentiment, stating firmly that I needed to leave as they had no tables for me. I found their behavior not only unprofessional but also rude and dismissive. Such treatment is unacceptable in any customer service setting and does nothing but tarnish the reputation of your establishment. It is my belief that these employees do not possess the necessary skills or demeanor required to work in hospitality and should not be in positions where they can negatively affect patrons' experiences. I am willing to provide further details or context regarding this incident to management if needed. I strongly advise you to review the conduct of your staff, as it significantly impacts the overall ambiance and image of your restaurant. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see improvements in staff training and customer service protocols moving forward.

Pleasantly surprised by the taste of the dishes! We had dinner there in the evening and shared 3 starters and 2 side dishes and each had a dessert. The flavors were great, very nicely balanced. I had made a reservation a week in advance, we were a bit early, so we first had a drink outside under the heaters. We were then asked if we would like to eat outside. We indicated that we really wanted to sit inside, because it was quite chilly and we had made a reservation. The response was, ah, too bad, because it was very busy. This was really the only downside of the entire evening. The rest was great. Food, service, overall experience. Recommended! (The virgin cocktail was also very tasty, tropical mule)

Good food and decent service, but overpriced. I ordered a cocktail that was 75% ice and even more overpriced than the food.

Really nice place, atmospheric, with a large (heated) terrace. We had the chicken gyosa (you won't eat it better anywhere!) and the poke bowl. Unfortunately, that was disappointing, because the sushi rice was hard and dry. The chef indicated that that is part of sushi rice. I think differently about that, but the rest of the poke bowl ingredients were fresh and tasty, which made up for a lot. We will definitely come back!

We went here to catch up with friends. The menu card is rich with a lot of variations. The quality of the food is very good. The staff were friendly. There is one thing we really didn’t like. The music was too loud. We asked multiple times to reduce the volume a little. But that didn’t happen. Also the type of music was terrible. The kind of music that never comes to a conclusion. We decided to leave before the desert and find another place where we could talk.

It’s not the first time that I ate here, is always on top of my places in Amsterdam. Try it!

COMPLAINT! We had dinner here on Friday evening with 3 people. After dinner and the necessary bottles of wine, one of us wanted coffee. This was around 11:30 PM. The girl who served us indicated that no more coffee was served because the machine had already been cleaned. I asked her what the closing time was and she said midnight. So open for another hour. There were still a number of people in the restaurant. We were not the only ones. The manager came, his name is Lowiek, he was quite rude and said there is no coffee available!!!! And we didn't get coffee, tea was possible. I find this really scandalous and have never experienced this in a restaurant before. Very unfortunate but I will never go there again! I hope this review gets to the manager!

Despite informing both the restaurant in advance (in my reservation note) and our waiter dutiny ordering 4 course menu, that one of our guests has a severe shellfish allergy, we were still served a dish containing “garnalen” (shrimp) This is a serious health risk and completely unacceptable. Second, the dessert we were served was clearly spoiled—it smelled like rotten flesh and tasted bitter. Even our waiter acknowledged the unusual smell, yet the kitchen insisted there was nothing wrong. Eventually, the manager removed the dessert and offered an alternative, but by that point, the damage was done. To make matters worse, all three of us have suffered from stomach issues since the meal. For a restaurant serving a menu, this is shocking. While I appreciate that the spoiled desserts were deducted from our bill and we were offered a round of drinks, this does not make up for the overall experience, especially considering we paid nearly €150, plus parking, for a night that ended in disappointment and illness. Ate here on Valentine's Day. At first I thought it was too big and a bit noisy. But soon surrendered. Their Valentine's menu was great. Special combination of dishes with, for me, new flavors. The price quality of this menu was very good! Staff was friendly and there was a DJ.

I love this restaurant! I’ve been there 3 times and all the times have been amazing. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy. Sometimes, the waiting time between courses seems too long but it totally worth it.

The restaurant has a stylish, modern design with beautiful lighting and a hip, relaxed atmosphere. It was quiet when we ate there, which was pleasant. The food? Almost perfect. Refined flavors, beautiful presentation – much better than The Roast Room at the time. I chose the ceviche, which was absolutely perfect – the best I ate in Amsterdam. We also ordered Sashimi, Beijing duck pancakes and Dim Sum – all excellently prepared and beautifully served. Compliments to the chef! The service? Friendly, but unprofessional and sometimes downright rude. When I asked for the dessert menu, I was told: “Yes ma'am, please wait until your son has finished eating.” – absolutely not acceptable. I took off one star because of this attitude. With a little training this can become a top address, because the food is absolutely worth it. But service should be welcoming and professional, not patronizing or corrective.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. Friendly and competent staff. I was allowed to take a look at the roof terrace for a possible upcoming event of 80-100 people. I will certainly take this experience into account when recommending the event to my management. Nice service!

Ate here on 1/25/25. Truly fantastic. Tapas beforehand (Sushimi and Naan rolls). Very tender and tasty. Main course Mussels and Bavette, they also tasted delicious. A caress for your tongue, with many different flavors, just like a traveler tastes. Japanese, Oriental, Dutch and French dishes. Very pleasant staff. Simply great!

Music is restaurant way to loud! Eat with a bigger group, upstairs, with other non related groups. Could not speak with diagonal neighbours at the table. Afterwards heard same complain from more. Staff could ask if we would like to drink something. This was never asked, had to call the staff en even than they did not go around to the rest of the group. It is shard dining, I did expect sort of tapas. But it is more bigger plates that you than share. However. No personal tastes are taken into account. So same amount of fish or meat or veggie. But when does not eat fish, has less food? Or should others give away meat because you happen to like fish as well? Weird concept. Handy with big groups though, as they just have to place food on the table.

We had a delicious meal and drinks here, took the shared menu, but these are just full plates with main and starters for 2 to 4 people, we were completely full after the starter course and we just couldn't finish the main course (small eaters) but it was delicious, definitely worth repeating.

Came here with friends for an early Sunday lunch. It was still quiet. Great atmosphere, good music. Delicious food (Ramen soup highly recommended). And: friendly, personal, impeccable service. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, which was much appreciated by little Rosie…

The food is tasty. The service itself was good, but the people in charge are not in the right place in hospitality. Ordered vegan, but delivered vegetarian. There will be a discussion about whether you ordered it incorrectly. It was an eggplant, of all things. There is also a lady who let the friendly young man do the bad news instead of taking responsibility herself. Such a nice boss... Won't be coming back.

Nice, clean bar-restaurant with vibrant atmosphere next to the RAI exhibition halls. Entered the place without a reservation, and since they were fully booked for the evening we could either get a dinner table with an hour timeslot or a bar table without one which was fine with us. Nice menu with an Asian touch and a decent choice of vegetarian options. Quick service, professional staff. Beer was nice, cold and fresh. Our snacks were hot and crispy, although the filling of the vegetarian gyoza was somewhat mushy and indeterminate. Overall it was a nice place.

An excellent restaurant located in the fairgrounds.

The food is very good, the beer is great. The capacity is small, 0.3 but ok. I especially recommend the pistachio ice cream dessert, good meat. All are served cold. Toilet downstairs - weight for the stairs. Service rather ok.

We had dinner here with the company, it is close to RAI. The concept is that you can share multiple dishes with others at the table. There are really good dishes, but after a while we no longer knew what we wanted to order, because we had tried almost everything. There were some vegetarian dishes but also many meat types. Good quality food, not very cheap but the company pays. Dessert was a shame, I ordered the macaron but it came straight from the freezer and was impossible to eat, so back to the kitchen. The interior consisted of many Asian influences/stuff, it was cozy and very busy on the day I was there

The food is fine and the servers were friendly (although I think I came in right when new servers were taught, because they weren't sure which table to serve and brought my drink after my food). But paying 12€ for what is basically a glass filled with ice and just one sip of cocktail is just ridiculous.

Good atmosphere and good food had a date last Friday. The staff were friendly and helpful. I expected it to be a little busier because it was a Friday evening, but that was otherwise fine! I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will definitely visit the South-East location!

Very ruth the 60 years old looking lady, send away 2 homeless who tried to eat under the roof, yesterday when it was huge rain. So awefull. Zero comparsion. I gave them 50 Euros.

Somewhat difficult to read menu. Difficult to understand how much food certain dishes correspond to. Very aggressive and unpleasant service lowers the rating.

The food is very good, especially the lunch menu. The staff are friendly and very attentive. However, the dinner value for money is not very good. I probably wouldn’t go for dinner again, but would go there for lunch. The outdoor area is superb and very comfortable.

This place does not in fact close at 1:00 am and that they’re lying. Lying is not only disrespectful and dishonest, but it shows you lack credibility and integrity.

I have never felt so unwelcome in my city and favorite restaurant, so I wanted to report this. The waitress who helped us gave us a very dry service. She asked if we wanted to order something in advance, and we said we were still waiting for one person. Normally you would expect her to answer and say it's totally fine, but she just walked away from the table. You know, anyone can have a bad day, so we don't blame that. But to our horror we heard her say to her colleague: “The contrast is very high here.” We are two dark people and in the restaurant there was another group of white Dutch people. Such a comment really cannot be made. We thought the food was tasty, but after hearing that we had no appetite anymore. This really isn't possible.

Great experience! The hostess was super friendly and found a table for us even though it was extremely busy. Food is amazing and service is really good as well. The place was packed but still got the food in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend coming back. Also we could bring our dog on the terrace which was really nice :)

We were a big group and came very close to kitchen closing ( 10pm ) - but the traveler staff was very nice and still welcomed us. It is a bit pricey ( probably because of the Rai proximity). Not a pick for budget traveler. The food was very good, even if portions could be a bit bigger. A lot of options are spicy and it's not always clear. I would advise to ask the staff when ordering if spicy is an issue ! Would still recommend if you want a nice bar and tapas near Rai and price isn't too much an issue !

It is not really great and but also not really bad. Quite crowded, being close to RAI Congress Centre, it benefits from bigger business groups. Not my favorite place and I don“t think I would go there again. Food and prices were ok, service was not friendly..

Nice discovery! Tasty poke bowl. Sweet potato fries with Rendang also tasted good, but I would have liked a little more sauce. European Championship match with Dutch team on terrace. When I ordered Earl Gray tea, I received black tea, sorry but that is not the same in my experience. My table companion enjoyed the panacotta. Famous Dutchman spotted on terrace. Beautiful decor. Around the corner from the Rai.

- Too expensive for the quantity/quality - Waiters complains that we are a too big group and that the choice is limited. - We cant pay individualy, we had to pay between each other wich result in a mess and 20 minutes loss. - Good fries but served with too much salt.

If you are on a keto diet this is definitely the place to be for a chilled out lunch when you are attending a conference at RAI. I had the poached eggs with avocado and they are divine

Every single thing we ordered here was delicious, and our server was lovely and explained the tapas-style menu and some of the cuisine to us (we are tourists). The atmosphere is very stylish without being too formal, it was a nice place to sit and have a few beers and talk.

Don’t ever come to this restaurant!! Seriously, they are extremely RUDE!!! They had an event and had to clear the space at 4pm, but did not inform us prior. By 3:53, they shouted at us (when we were with business clients) to get out…. Your staff needs to bring a better attitude to work and learn how to respect guests.

Worst service experience ever. Firstly after the service staff led us to our seat, the manager came and ask us in our face: who are you why are you sitting here. Subsequently they came abruptly to tell us “you have to go” in a very rude way without any prior notice, while we were still in a conversation with our guests. In general, food & drink & environment was not bad, but DO NOT go there if you are with your guests for the lousy service and attitude of their managers

We went to the traveller for a pre-theater dinner. The service was really great, food was amazing and a very good selection of wine.! I would defo recommend to have dinner here for any show or even in the RAI ;-)

Lovely place to have dinner. Service was really good. Although they don’t have many vegan options on their menu, they are super accommodating to prepare a vegan version of their plates.
