What a wonderful experience! The service was very warm, efficient, and attentive, and the food was delicious. They were also very accommodating when we asked if we could have a special dessert. In short, highly recommended.

Overall impression is good; a new house in a good, quiet location, 900 meters from the dunes and 2.2 kilometers from the beach/beach bar. A very nice little town with sufficient shopping and dining options.

It was a cozy atmosphere and a really nice waiter, that's for sure. I had shrimp as a starter. The flavor was excellent, but the shrimp were hard and dry, unfortunately. A real shame. My girlfriend's carpaccio was delicious. Then came the mixed grill. That meat was also dry and tough, a real shame. The chef clearly doesn't know how to prepare fish and/or meat, that much is clear. My girlfriend's meal was delicious, but without the meat. A real shame about the food, but the waiter made up for a lot.

The bartender wasn't competent enough to serve my Calvados properly. First, he served it with ice, then, after returning it, he warmed the glass and poured it into a "fantasy" glass of 43 liqueur. However, it still tasted watery. My comments about this went unheeded. It was a language barrier!

The atmosphere is good, and we didn't have to wait long for our table. We did have to wait a long time for our food, though. We mentioned our pepper allergy, and unfortunately, it was included. We received a new one. What I find a shame is that they don't ask if it's good, even though they do come by your table.

I missed the hospitality. The food was okay.

This was our second time at the Strandhotel New Hamsteede. The hotel is fantastic; everything worked out exactly as you'd expect—good service, atmosphere, food, and helpful staff. We'll be back, we promise.

We recently went out to dinner with several people and can only agree with the negative reviews. The ambiance is quite nice, but the food was a disaster: the breading on the fish and chips was thicker than the fish, the tomato soup came from a packet, and the salads were barely adequate. The chef in the open kitchen wore a glove on his left hand, but cheerfully reached into the bowls with his ungloved right hand to distribute the salad ingredients. The service was at a loss... We neither ate well nor felt comfortable. To make matters worse, everyone left smelling of fish.

Beautifully situated hotel with lovely rooms and a bathroom with a wonderful rain shower. The walk to the sea is further than expected. The food and drinks are good, with fairly large portions. The vast majority of the staff in the restaurant speak English, not Dutch. Charging stations are available for electric cars.

We went to this bar for dinner because the neighboring dune hotel had given us such a terrible dinner yesterday. There was nothing wrong with it, good service, nice atmosphere, and excellent food.

We were pleasantly surprised. We've had some disappointing experiences with Fletcher restaurants, but we really liked this one. The food was excellent, the service was fast and attentive, and the communication was excellent. In short, absolutely fantastic!

Been here several times for dinner and this time for a high tea. This was fine in itself with sufficient variation in sweet and savory and also tasty. Service was friendly and fast, but what was disappointing was the enormous dirty floor under almost every table. There were a lot of food remains and the floor was also sticky in many places. It was not busy so I wondered why they could not sweep/mop the floor. Also the tip to give the guests 2 plates and 2 cutlery. Now you had to put your scones on a plate where there had also been salmon and wipe your knife on a napkin of which you only get one. So adjust a few small things and go towards the 5 stars.

There were two of us. We ordered the burger and the schnitzel. Within less than 5 minutes both meals came to the table. What does this teach us? Everything was already at least pre-fried and was just made hot. The burger was still quite good, the schnitzel was a disaster: it tasted like pre-made schnitzel that you can buy in the supermarket. No aroma, no butter taste, the breading stuck. So it was a complete failure. The pepper cream sauce came out of the bag and tasted more like fish. The salad served had the volume of an egg cup. Addendum: We waited half an hour for nachos. Service is chaotic

Super good food, variable service, one was super nice, the other was not having her day I think, was a bit stiff

After almost half an hour, someone came to us on a terrace that was not even half full. Then it was said that we couldn't order dinner because they were "full". There irritating. Then put up a sign!

The restaurant terrace has something relaxing about it, is very well maintained, beautiful, sunny and protected from the wind. The right place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of apple pie in the afternoon.

Sit nicely in the sun and let five straight.

We visited the bistro for my wife's birthday. We made a reservation online for 7:30 p.m. When we arrived the place was about half full. We found the atmosphere quite cozy, and the drinks came quickly. We each ordered the mixed grill plate and a burger twice. The burger for just under €20 was served with a small portion of fries and a very small side salad. The grill plate consisted of three small pieces of “meat” with half a potato. Waiting time: a good hour! Food: disaster! The burger for almost €20 was a disgrace... if I was served such a concoction in a chip shop at home for €5, I probably wouldn't come back... However, the grill plate was an even bigger outrage. You couldn't even tell what kind of meat it was. To be on the safe side, my daughter swapped her plate with my son-in-law, who bravely fought his way through the dish. Anyone who has committed this (!) as a cook - in an open kitchen - should give up their profession as quickly as possible. In our entire lives (my wife and I are just over 60) we have never been served such rubbish after such a long wait in a restaurant. Anyone who gave four or five stars here as a guest should think about their life again. ADDENDUM: Unfortunately my post was not published. I don't know why. I'm trying again now, even though it's been almost a year since my visit there.

We sat here on the terrace, I think for half an hour before someone came to take our order, who then did not clean up the mess left by the previous people on our table. And in the evening we went to eat, which was only possible at 5:15 PM because it was busy (it wasn't), we ordered food and within 2 minutes our tournedos were in front of us, we hadn't even gotten our drinks. This means that the tournedos was never freshly baked, and did not taste good either. The room service also operated on the terrace with a QR code that did not work, so we could not order anything for the room. So if you're on the phone, you've come to the right place, staff not really friendly either.

The prices are very reasonable, unlike the quality of the food served. For seasonal vegetables, eggplant and zucchini are served in February. The products are not of quality or seasonal. The professionalism of the staff depends from one person to another.

Nice restaurant, nice location, but all this was ruined by eating my wife's fish & chips, at least 10 bones in 1 fillet, 2 of which got stuck in the throat. The head waiter went to the kitchen after he said that this was not normal, but did not return to the table. Unfortunately, he also left the further bidding to others.

A bone can always be in fish, I understand that, but I don't think 10 bones in 1 fillet is normal. And then you don't get an explanation and you don't come back to the table again Restaurant was nice, nice location but for me this ruined everything

Not a spectacular menu, but the satay was very tasty and the dessert was delicious! The service does his/her best, but I live in the Netherlands and my language is therefore also Dutch and I want to order and pay in Dutch! It's fine that Bar Bistro Duco hires people from abroad, but also give them a Dutch course! The atmosphere is okay!

Nice to have a drink there. Fish and not extraordinary but good, on the other hand very good fish. The smashed potato on the other hand is super delicious! La Trappe blonde at the pump, rare and wonderful. White lady with Advocaat, delicious but really too little Advocaat, a little disappointed. (Much less Advocaat than the hot chocolate one) It is a rather noisy place because it is lively.

Belongs to Fletcher beach hotel. Very spacious. You're in a good place. The first evening we were with a group of 19. Lots of staff and they did their best. Drop a few small stitches and sometimes wait a little longer. Food was fine. I was hoping for a whole sea bass but got two fillets. The next day with the 2 of us. Everything was now running perfectly, the place was completely full. Just not a large group that requires too much attention. Excellent fish & chips and tournedos. Pomidoro soup and carpaccio beforehand. Not too expensive by the glass at just over €5. However, the bottle should not be less than €30. Nice and fast service.

I know the reviews are fairly mixed, but I cannot complain at all. The place is very nice, cozily lit and my food (Carpaccio, Mixed Grill and Creme Brûlée) and drink (Cloudy Lemonade and a Hendrick‘s G&T) very scrumptious!

The restaurant is not only available to hotel guests. Unfortunately we had to wait 15 minutes for service to first draw our attention. Service but extremely friendly and attentive.

Nice ambiance, but the food really lagged behind. The advertising states: culinary hotspot with sufficient vegetarian options. The only vegetarian option as the main menu turned out to be unavailable! The waiter indicated that the fish dishes were also vegetarian 🤣 (level??) Then only the salads remained. They are also not vegetarian with fish or bacon. So... there was only 1 choice: a goat cheese salad! You probably won't like goat cheese or be vegan. Then you're done talking. My girlfriend chose the goat cheese salad..😐 I like fish myself and chose the delicious prawn skewer fried under the josper. Unfortunately, what I got was a bare dish with a skewer of lukewarm dry and tough supermarket shrimp, a few pieces of poorly roasted half raw vegetables and a baked potato. The potato was the best item on the otherwise unimaginative plate. Unfortunately Duco, the term "culinary hotspot" did not apply in this case.

Christmas brunch was great, good food, everything was well replenished

The restaurant has an attractive appearance. Open kitchen. Friendly staff, but here too the workload is palpable, meaning you have to wait a long time. Enjoyed all three meals here. Lunch tasty but not very special. We found dinner very disappointing. I had the mixed grill. I found the meat very dry and it didn't look like it came off the grill at all. I expressed myself and I was immediately allowed to choose something else. Chose the burger which was tasty. Breakfast fine, fresh.

Very nice hotel with a warm welcome from the reception, with a nice atmospheric restaurant and bar, the kitchen chefs provide delicious food, the service is friendly and helpful despite the crowds, the rooms are clean and with wonderful beds. Everything completely according to your wishes and the environment provides peace and wonderful relaxation.

I had carving with fries and salad The food wasn't tasty for my taste as the carving stone was hard. I fried the fries for too long and then they say the fries were swapped and when it comes to carving they say it has to be like that. So for me it's not tasty And never come back, not even an apology

Fish&chips is made with 'lekkerbek', but consists of a strange type of white fish and certainly not cod. Not tasty. After reporting it was taken off the bill and that is commendable.

Nice location, very child-friendly. Unfortunately, the waiter/waitress wasn't very attentive. The missing cutlery had to be pointed out, the napkin was forgotten. Food was high quality, unfortunately there was little surprise in terms of taste. The conclusion can be drawn, but it's not a place where you absolutely have to go.

It must be my fault with my high expectations High-quality pretensions with barbecue cuisine, and after 10 minutes a plate is on the table I wonder where the meat is fried, in an age of smokers and other low temperatures this is not possible in 10 minutes. A confused plate is unknown and that with a mixed grill and surf and turf then we already know the end of cold food. A nice bottle of wine, Piedra Negra Malbec, really nice, the price is €41 for a bottle that costs a maximum of €8 in the market. What do we pay for the beautiful frame? Ça vaux le détour? Ça vaux le plus jamais revenir

Ate here a few years ago when I had really mini gourmets that kept me from coming for years, now that I had mussels, well prepared, reasonable quantity, I noticed that most meat has a gram indication and fish does not.

Sit comfortably for a cup of coffee with apple pie or a drink with a luxurious snack. Nicely located in quiet Nieuw Haamstede, so virtually no traffic. Staff are ok.

We had a delicious meal here! The service was nice, but they were in a hurry with many things, which caused them to drop cutlery, for example, and you felt the stress of the service. The food didn't arrive until an hour later, but we received coffee on the house, which was very nice!

I loved the cozy place, impeccable service, delicious cuisine and something to discover. The fish and chips are to die for without forgetting the beer menu as well as the chef's cocktail!!! In any case, as a Frenchman who does not speak the language but a little English, I enjoyed the two meals taken as well as the breakfasts.

The restaurant is very good. Everything is freshly prepared in an open kitchen. Only the service occasionally seems a bit reorganized when the house is full.

I can recommend it to everyone.

Great food, good service, nice location. We were here in the evening after the sauna. We only reserved 30 minutes in advance via Google and they still had it on their radar. Top. We were warmly welcomed and escorted to a nice spot by the window. The food was very good - but also expensive (but not at all overpriced for local standards). My veggie burger was first class, my wife's goat cheese salad was great! The location is really great. In the morning we had our breakfast here, which was also first class. We were definitely not here for the last time.

Unfortunately, I can't share a positive experience because we were initially greeted very warmly. However, we had a puppy with us who was not welcome. This was made very clear to us. It was not clear beforehand that dogs were not welcome.

Pleasant and quiet restaurant with open kitchen, friendly and professional staff. Extensive breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, fresh rolls, toppings of your choice, nothing was lacking. Dinner consisted of a two-course menu included in the package. Friendly and professional service here too. We had a very tasty dinner twice, but still missed some extra vegetables with the main course. Wine and water at a fair price. We would love to come back.

Mooi restaurant, goede akoestiek, genoeg ruimte om ons heen. Vriendelijk personeel, mag wel op Nederlandse les. Eten gemiddeld, wel erg prijzig.

Good ambiance, perfect cuisine and very friendly hardworking staff in both, services and kitchen. Surprising quality and very tasty food, really nothing to complain about... staff speaking English and Dutch. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a delicious (bistro) meal. A convincing 5* experience, without any doubt.

Prettige hotel om te verblijven. Mooie ligging nabij Natura 2000 gebied.Prettig terras Gerechten smakelijk. Wellness is een bezoek waard. Medewerkers zijn aardig en begrijpen hun werk. Mooi wandelgebied in de achtertuin..

Een heel sfeervol ingericht restaurant. Erg fijne zitjes, veel plaatsen maar tegelijkertijd ook intiem door de diverse hoekjes, met ook weer ander meubilair. Prachtig echt! Eten ook top, en goed betaalbaar. Smaakvol en divers, mooi opgediend ook. Enige jammere vond ik dat het personeel het zo druk had dat je echt je best moest doen om geholpen te worden, zelfs om af te rekenen. Ook dat je geen vaste bediende had maar steeds een andere dame of heer, en de helft moest in het Engels , dat gaf nog wel eens wat verwarring. Ze deden allemaal duidelijk hun best, dus het is ze vergeven hoor. Maar denk echt dat ze wat krap in het personeel zaten.

Lange tijd niet zo lekker gegeten. De mixed is een aanrader. Vriendelijk en professioneel personeel.

Wat een prachtig hotel. Sinds 2020 geopend na grondige renovatie. De bar bistro geeft een warme en gemoedelijke sfeer door combinatie van warme tinten gecombineerd met zwart. Heerlijk ontbijt, veel keuze. Vriendelijk personeel wel veel Engels-talig. Dit zagen wij ook bij meerdere andere horeca-gelegenheden in Zeeland. Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken 😉

Een van de betere fletcher hotols. Enige nadeel minder leuk strand geen strandbar en toch een klein halfuurtje stappen vanaf het hotel.

Porties niet groot, zeker voor het geld. Salade menu was klein. Schoonzoon had tongfilet met kaas er omheen besteld. Kreeg echter 2 slibtongetjes, die weliswaar aan tafel ruwweg werden gefileerd maar zeker geen tongfilet met kaas. Kreeg ondanks opmerkingen niets anders, wel werd het van de rekening gehaald.

Een beetje meer liefde in het vak stoppen.

Salade vergeten aan te maken. Zalm had iets royaler gekund. Hoofdgerecht te lang in de oven laten staan (diamanthaas alsmede tongfilet). Was niet druk dus er had meer aandacht aan het eten kunnen worden besteed. Hoestende kok had beter zijn best kunnen doen. Italiaanse ober was geweldig en vakkundig en maakte de avond weer goed.
