Absolutely fantastic. A charming restaurant in a relaxed, idyllic setting right on the harbor. The food is really good and the price is fair for the quality. We were there with two children, and they even had something for them.

Incredibly worthless place. They are very quick to think they are busy. Or maybe it was something else, but we were just brushed aside because they were busy, half past one in the afternoon with empty tables🤣. So we moved on and had a lovely meal and drinks at Zen a little further down the road. And it was definitely at La Plaisanterie.

Unfortunately, it seems that guests aren't the top priority. The food and atmosphere are great. But if you're eating and then several flies come along, making the meal a nightmare, and you have to ask for a new seat and then carry almost all your food in yourself, I find that very questionable.

Always good. A pleasant place to eat. The mussels and desserts are definitely recommended. Great seasoning and fresh. It is busy in the summer, but then again, that is to be expected at a very popular venue. By the way, don't forget to finish with a fancy coffee.

You can safely skip this terrace; after 4:30 PM you can no longer get a drink unless you are also having dinner that evening. Those are the rules. Of course, the owner is allowed to set his own rules, but the terrace was practically empty; I would definitely have left before it got busy. I eat there every now and then (pretty good), but I hadn't experienced anything like this before. Too bad, another customer lost. But that probably won't be a problem for them. I understand perfectly well, though; revenue comes before hospitality.

Yeah, got a voucher from an acquaintance, but otherwise never again. Canned strawberries and terribly cooked mussels; I'll do that myself next time. That cook (???????) could learn a thing or two from that.

On Sunday, June 28, we concluded our traditional Concert at Sea weekend with a delicious dinner at La Plaisanterie. Although Concert at Sea was partially rained out, this was a resounding success. We had a delicious meal in a great atmosphere with fantastic service. Highly recommended! See you next year for sure, but we probably won't be able to wait that long, so there's a good chance we'll come sooner 👍.

I myself worked in the restaurant industry and later inspected hundreds of restaurants for professional reasons. We come from the Middle Rhine Valley and have been visiting La Plaisanterie for years and have never been disappointed. My rating would be ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐—if that were possible 😃 And—no! My review is not bought. The food—is always fresh, high-quality, and varied, and expertly prepared. The ambiance—it's cozy, the playlist is appropriate, the music isn't too loud, and everything is clean. The kitchen—is visible to every guest and spotless. You can see the well-established processes, which are essential for good food and good service. I've observed the same staff there for years, which is always an indication of job satisfaction and consistent quality of preparation. The service—is simply excellent. Anyone expecting obsequious, perpetually grinning workaholics is in the wrong place. Ilona van der Vlies and her team are a fantastic group who do a fantastic job. Ilona is friendly, open, and honest, and she has the hospitality gene! Without that, such a successful business, now spanning over 11 years (despite COVID), simply wouldn't be possible. Ilona & Team — thank you so much, keep up the great work! Next year, I'm planning to spend a few days with my extended family on Schouwen-Duiveland and celebrate my birthday at La Plaisanterie.

Yesterday we enjoyed another fantastic dinner at Restaurant La Plaisanterie. We love our favorite spot right on the harbor in Brouwershaven! The owner is always friendly and fun, speaks excellent German, and is patient with my rudimentary Dutch. 😉 The food is consistently delicious and plentiful, and the service is lightning fast. The ambiance is cozy and clean, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the value for money is excellent. We always love coming back. ❤️ Apparently, it's not just the owner who's passionate about her work, but the staff is happy too, because it's been the same chefs since we started eating there (about four years ago). It's a highlight of every vacation and a wonderful reward after a bike ride. All I can say is: Ik ben gelukkig! Keep it up! Reservations are recommended if you want to be sure of getting a table. 👍🏻

I ate mussels there as a main course and an assortment of three types of smoked fish as a starter. When I got home a few hours later, I developed severe stomach pain which turned into food poisoning. I reported this to the owner at the restaurant, and I was simply laughed at, because according to them, that was impossible. So, I was taken to the hospital by ambulance the next morning and went through some nasty things there.

For four people, we were served at La Plaisanterie on Monday, May 25, 2026, on the recommendation of a Belgian gentleman and lady whom we happened to run into a few days earlier. According to them, the food there was good. We called the day before to ask if we could come as a group of five instead of four. No problem, according to the friendly lady on the phone. At 7:00 PM, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table inside the restaurant. Reservations are only possible for indoor seating. It is also possible to eat on the terrace, but reservations are not possible there. After being asked what we wanted to drink as an aperitif, we received an amuse-bouche from the house. Caspacho and baguette with various spreads. We chose the monthly menu, 28.50 euros, which was a three-course menu. For the starter, we could choose between beef or tuna tataki. For the main course, a pork tenderloin skewer or the chef's surprise fish. The fish consisted of salmon, cod, and Dutch shrimp. After that, a dessert from the chef. I can highly recommend this restaurant. I have never before received such normal portion sizes with a monthly menu at this price at any other establishment. See the photos. It was busy this evening, very busy, and very hot. Moreover, the staff had worked an extra day because it was Whit Monday. Normally, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Nevertheless, the owner, who owns the place together with her father, made time to have a chat. If you are ever in the vicinity of La Plaisanterie, I would say book in advance and enjoy your meal.

There are three of us sitting in this cozy harborside restaurant. The service is incredibly friendly. You're literally pampered. The food was delicious, and the variety of vegetables and potato side dishes is both delightful and surprising. There's a wide selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, all affordably priced.

The wait time between courses was quite long. The single server wasn't distracted by anything; at the table opposite sat a couple with two small children, to whom she devoted a great deal of time. You could tell they knew each other. We still didn't have our wine, but you're not on the run. Apparently, dogs are always allowed in restaurants in Zeeland. So apparently, it wasn't a problem here either. A couple with two "giant dogs" (the dog owners also brought two large blankets) were allowed to sit right by the door and were constantly annoying the neighboring table. It's a good thing we were seated a little further away. Absolutely unacceptable... The wine was delicious, so we reordered. This took a very long time, and they refilled my glass at the table, and I spilled a lot. "Oh, unfortunately, something went wrong."...sure...it happens. I've experienced (I think I'm a somewhat inexperienced restaurant customer) people looking in the old glass from the bottle. Primitive...clearly less washing up for the restaurant. Conclusion: Top-notch food...despite a few shortcomings in our opinion...full marks.

A cozy and well-maintained restaurant by the harbor in Brouwershaven. We enjoyed delicious mussels fresh from Lake Grevelingen. The mussels were served with a delicious salad, fresh fries, and sauces. For dessert, we had a delicious ice cream sorbet, served with fresh fruit, chocolate sauce, and/or eggnog. During work, we wanted to have lunch somewhere, and this restaurant had a good reputation, so the decision was easy. As we walked there, a defenseless little bird lay on the street. My idea was to have the animal ambulance come and pick it up at this restaurant, since we wanted to have lunch there anyway. All I needed was a box and a table on the patio, where there was plenty of room. I suggested this to the waiter (presumably the owner), but the answer was: "Do you think I have time for that?!" I believe you should always help a person or animal in need! We immediately left; I wouldn't sit at a restaurant like that. Luckily, it was across from a surf shop where the animal ambulance could go to pick up the little bird. We ended up at Cafeteria t'Koepeltje in Scharendijke, where we had a great meal, by the way! Fresh fries!
