Poor quality steak. I asked for medium and initially received well done, sent it back, and then it was raw. There were tons of fruit flies, and I received a cup of tea with a fruit fly in it. After reviewing the review, Joseph called with an apology regarding staffing issues and offered a solution.

Unfortunately, it wasn't what it once was. The meat and fries were fine, but something was constantly being forgotten. Tea without a tea bag, forgetting that we wanted to order something, and ultimately, dessert was also forgotten. The supposedly "homemade tiramisu" that was supposed to be prepared at the table was simply placed on the table as if it had been ready for a while and had just come out of the fridge. Not a highlight. All in all, €400 that we could have spent much better elsewhere.

The food was of a high standard and delicious; the staff were friendly and smiling. There was no accessible restroom, but it was wheelchair-friendly.

We had both positive and negative experiences during our visit. The food was delicious, but a bit pricey for what you actually received. My companion also ordered a different dish because, before we ordered, he'd heard that they couldn't offer live table preparation due to a "staff shortage." We didn't really have this experience, as the chef spent much of his time outside the kitchen instead of in it. Outside the kitchen, he was busy with the waiters, even though there were plenty of them. We also noticed that the female waiters were friendlier and more polite than the male ones. They had run out of a certain wine, and she kindly helped me, offered me an alternative, and let me try it.

I liked the food menu, so I had positive expectations. The place itself also has a nice atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the quality this time. The tagliatelle with shrimp (only four, and still in their shells!) was underwhelming and rather bland — definitely not worth the price. The chicken satay was a better choice.

Reasonable food, fixed on the price but for a vegetarian little choice (even very little food: a little pasta with cheese costs 30 euros and is gone in three bites - nothing was done with the comment about the quantity). The much too expensive dessert Affogato is a big flop and reason not to come here again!

Good food, good service, fair prices. Went for dinner again after 3 years, the young lady who served us has one great smile, which is great for the catering industry, Starter was delicious, ioli campions, then beef tenderloin and spicy cheese fondue....just fantastic. The dessert could use an upgrade, cake with rum and ice cream was not special.

What a nice place in the middle of the center of Hoofddorp. Cozy business, service warm and personal, food and wines are great! We come here regularly and the quality is always great.

Great place, only the service at the table could be a little faster, we once went to the waiter to order because it took too long. Unfortunately, the Bastogne cheesecake only had a meager base, which was a disappointment. You can also eat well there and it is pleasant to sit.

The tournedos was expensive and it was really only meat and some chips, no vegetables or salad. The gravy was very fatty and did not have a truffle flavour as I ordered. Service was fine

Update 7-3-2025 Today we had a very nice meal in the second chance. Great service, pleasant atmosphere, didn't have to wait long. We were regularly (but not annoyingly often) asked if everything was to our liking, and asked in good time if we wanted something to drink. The spare ribs were excellent (highly recommended) and the smashed burger was also very tasty. Served with delicious fries with truffle/parmesan. Hence updated to four stars. 14-2-2025 The food was okay, but not for the prices charged. Service can be called mediocre. The atmosphere is fine, although right after we sat down the speaker above us suddenly went on quite loudly. We had to wait a very long time (and the table next to us even longer, by the way). Before we were even asked what we wanted to drink, half an hour had already passed. Then the drinks still had to come. The sandwich beforehand came a little faster, but then it took a very long time before we could order the main course. The service did not know whether the parmesan was made with pasteurized or raw milk. And after ordering, it took a very long time for the food to arrive. I ordered tournedos, well-done and it arrived medium, with hardly any gravy. After indicating that the tournedos was ordered well-done, he went back to the kitchen. After waiting for a while, I got it back with luckily more gravy. In the meantime, we had already been sitting for 2 hours before our main course arrived. Then we had to wait a long time again before we could order a dessert. The cheesecake was tasty and also a good size. Very expensive though. The affogato was tasty in itself, but really very little for 11 euros. And it was more coffee than ice cream. All in all, not very good service and okay food, but not for the price you pay for it. For reference, the two of us were in the restaurant at 6:30 pm and left at 9:15 pm for just two courses and a sandwich as a starter and we had to pay almost 100 euros.

Previous experiences were better unfortunately. We had to wait an hour for the card and finally asked for it ourselves. Unfortunately the tuna was not there at all. Starters were fine. The sole had no taste and was fried too dry. That can happen, but when we pointed this out the response was: that's just how it tastes, it's just flour and salt and pepper. No alternative was subsequently offered or considered. Not even 1 cup of tea or coffee on the house so that you still have a satisfied customer. We were waved away like “whiners”. I won't be coming again anytime soon.

No longer what we are used to in terms of supply and price. I have been to this bistro several times and my husband even more often. And we were always very satisfied: delicious food and lots of choice for a normal price. Several items could not be ordered because they were not in stock: - No cheese fondue - No toast with garlic (like they used to sell). - No decaffeinated coffee - Not normal breakfast tea It is noticeable that the price of the main courses has become much more expensive in 1 month. For example: €35.50 for 3 sludge tongues that do not include anything else. Last month this cost €29.50. You still have to order fries and a Caesar side salad, a total of €11.00. I know everything is getting more expensive, but this is really over the top! 5 pieces of baguette with a cup of herb butter: €7.50! The quality of the food is still good, fortunately. But it is very stupid that when you order tea and receive a tea box in front of you that is more than half empty and only chamomile, green and rooibos tea is available. The Jumbo is behind the building. One could easily have gotten some teas. The tea glasses are also not all filled equally. There was actually half a cup of coffee in there. Furthermore, there were no tissues or towels at the toilet tap to dry your hands. The soap pump also didn't work. These may be small things, but given the price increase you expect everything to be great, and it is not. The staff does their best. They are friendly and provide good service where possible. It is a pity that we get the impression that this nice restaurant is in decline. And especially in the price/quantity/supply category. The quality of the food is still there. Fortunately everything was tasty.

I am sharing this review because I was actually shocked tonight at how a complaint about the food was handled. Let me start by saying that we had previously enjoyed our meal here and that is why we came back. This time I had the burger (18.50 without fries/salad). First I asked if the burger could be cooked medium-rare, but this was not possible (which seemed very strange). In the end I got the burger cooked to my liking, but unfortunately it was tasteless and there was hardly any garnish on it. I pointed this out to the waitress (who was very friendly by the way) and she took it back to the kitchen. I said that fries as a replacement were fine because of... time crunch. Then she comes back with my EATED burger on which more cheese has been added and she indicated that the fries were on the house. Dumbfounded, we ignored it for a while. I have decided to leave the burger as it is and when we received the bill we refused to pay for the burger. After a little discussion this was agreed to. Let it be a wise lesson for the restaurant that this is really not possible! In addition, 18.50 for such a small burger without extras is really outrageous. A shame because the starters are of great class!

Industrial design, club-like atmosphere, with an open kitchen. The tuna steak was really delicious. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the portions are large. The plates are beautifully laid out. Pleasant staff. The only disadvantage (for a non-smoker) is that if guests smoke outside under cover, the smoke smell can be smelled in the conservatory.

Messy place, food was quite tasty but really nothing more than that. Staff and employee/manager (?) have varying moods. Just grumble about the latter! That's quite disturbing. Too bad Joseph, and .... unfortunately it was really with you! But I'll try again with Joseph. Perhaps a better experience

What kind of restaurant is this? The fact that you shout so loudly through a microphone late on a Sunday evening really bothers me as a local resident.

Saturday evening we had a delicious meal, a great piece of meat and the fries were so well cooked, really TOP friendly staff. A small minus point, too much space between the starter and main course.

The ribeye was well cooked but severely under seasoned the cappuccino was luke warm. Glasses and silverware were stained. Service was excellent, absolutely no complaints about that. The menu is unappealing, I could not decide for a long time because nothing seemed interesting enough to get excited about. I wanted dessert but again, nothing caught my eye.

Worthless place with prices that are at least criminal tap water 4 euros per bottle very poor service will never go there again, what a rip off
