Bar Brasserie Pingo in Wijk 00 Assen centrum

Disappointing experience. The table was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. The pea soup didn't match the menu. Instead of rye bread or smoked bacon, there were only two slices of unfilled bread. The currant loaf was disproportionately sized, and the aged cheese was thin, dry, and didn't look fresh. On our way to pay, a staff member came over to ask if everything was to our satisfaction; we clearly expressed our dissatisfaction, but his only action was to send us to the cash register without offering a solution or compensation. This makes us wonder what the point of asking for satisfaction is if nothing is done about it. It's a shame, especially in a location like this.

Dirty tables, trays of dishes on the floor. Waiting 30 minutes for two cups of tea while five women are behind the counter. What terrible organization.

A truly wonderful experience with a gluten-free diet! Unfortunately, there weren't any gluten-free dishes on the menu for our 9-year-old son. When we asked, they did offer individually wrapped gluten-free rolls! We came up with a solution together, and our son thoroughly enjoyed his roll! The man was incredibly understanding and incredibly friendly. Highly recommended!

Op een tropische dag was het goed toeven bij brasserie Pingo in het Drents Museum. Het is er heerlijk koel en had mooi uitzicht op de historische panden. Bediening vriendelijk en snel. Men was zichtbaar blij dat men wat te doen had op deze extreem rustige dag. De pompensalade was heerlijk!

Wij waren er met familie (grootouders, ouders, kinderen). Eerst een tijd zitten wachten tot iemand kwam om de bestelling op te nemen. Daarna een tijd bij de bar staan wachten om te vragen of je bij de bar moest bestellen. Afijn, na 18 minuten na de bestelling te hebben doorgegeven en betaald maar zelf opgehaald en de tafel afgeruimd van de gasten die er voor ons gezeten hadden. De bediening had het niet erg druk en andere tafels bleven ook staan met vieze vaat. Drankjes waren wel goed, maar best aan de prijs (wat ik het wel waard had gevonden als ze sneller de tafels hadden afgeruimd en we aan onze plek bediend waren). Nu uitermate teleurstellend.

After a while, we had to clear the table ourselves. It then took ages to get served because we weren't staffed enough. When our order arrived, it took another long time because we'd been forgotten, and it turned out to be incomplete (the icing on the cake was missing).

I had a nice drink there. I think the brasserie looks nice!

At the Drents Museum, you can enjoy a meal and a drink at this brasserie. The menu features classics like pea soup and croquette sandwiches, as well as more original recipes like brioche with mushrooms or a bean surprise. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, there was cross-contamination with nuts on my husband's ham sandwich. This shouldn't happen, so more attention should be paid to this. The elderflower lemonade was delicious! The service was also excellent. I found it much better than the average Google review.

3 euro voor een glaasje lauw kraanwater. Dat zegt genoeg over deze accomodatie. Nadrukkelijk gevraagd om kraanwater, achteraf mag je dan even afrekenen. Ik ben benieuwd wat ze vragen voor een portie 'Drentse gebakken lucht'.

Deze brasserie is gevestigd in het Drents Museum, en wij dachten er een goede start te maken voor ons bezoek. De brasserie is druk, en ziet er leuk uit, zoals je je een grand café voorstelt. In de kaart wordt geprobeerd een lokaal tintje aan de lunch gerechten te geven. Wij bestelden een brioche met paddenstoelen en twee (oesterzwam) kroketten met ' landbrood'. We kregen de drankjes meteen, maar moesten meer dan een half uur wachten op het eten. In de tussentijd kregen we wel ons bestek, dat niet goed was afgewassen. De paddenstoelen waren goed, maar de brioche was te droog. Het landbrood bestond uit 2 maisboterhammen, waar weinig mis mee was. De kroketten waren lauw en vergezeld met niet verse salade. We hadden voor te bestellen, beter kunnen kijken naar het personeel. Sommige medewerkers wekten de indruk hier ook niet voor hun plezier te werken. Assen heeft een leuk centrum, en betere alternatieven om te lunchen. Veel extra tijd hoeft dat niet te kosten.

We had to wait 45 min for our lunch (2 persons). When it arrived one dish was the wrong one. The staff did not communicate at all that it would take a bit longer or offered an apology.

Great food, serves a little less, things are forgotten, takes a long time before you can order, confused by forgotten things and therefore have to pay double

Een mooi restaurant in het museum. De inrichting is open en verrassend voor een museum. Gebak en koffie is lekker maar prijzig.

Wat een prachtige ambiance voor dit museumrestaurant. Maar niet alleen dat; ook creatief en smaakvol ingericht. Mooi die combinatie van historische delen van het museum met strakke, moderne architectuur. Aan alles is gedacht. Lekkere, gemakkelijk zittende fauteuils, naast hippe stoelen. Petje af. De kaart is klein maar fijn met daarbij ook locale gerechten. Die hebben ons zeer gesmaakt.

Het is gewoon. Het interieur was een aantal jaren geleden mooier met allerlei authentieke elementen. De keus is niet echt uitgebreid. Maar we hebben er een lekker broodje met gepocheerd ei , ham en kool salade gegeten. Het smaakte goed.

Gave olifant schildering op de muur. Van de 11 gerechten die op de kaart stonden was echter meer dan de helft niet beschikbaar. Heel vreemd. Eten was niet bijzonder als je het afzet tegen de prijs. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Unfortunately only two stars: today we went to the beautiful 'Dacia' exhibition and then we decided to eat at the brasserie. Very nice that the menu has been adapted to the current exhibition, but extremely disappointing that of the 11 dishes on the menu, 6 dishes were not in stock. Of the special dishes we could only choose from 2 dishes instead of 5. This was not stated anywhere and no compensation was given for this. I understand that ingredients can run out, but you can't make more than half of the dishes? That shouldn't be able to happen. The food we got was fine but nothing special. If we had known this, we would have made other plans.

Idioot lang gewacht. Het broodje smaakte lekker, maar was maar 1 stukje land rood voor 12,50. Dus nog honger. Kortom: geen aanrader. Beter buiten het museum lunchen.

We had a late lunch before visiting the exhibition. The stuff was very friendly and we enjoyed the new menu especially the fresh juice.

Dit restaurant heeft een heel mooie ambiance in het Drents museum. De spullen waren goed en de bediening was vriendelijk.

Café part of Groninger Museum. Lunch dish quite pricey for what you get. Very attentive service.

Unfortunately only 1 star. Viewed the museum (van Gogh, beautiful exhibition) then had coffee with a piece of pecan nut cake in this restaurant. The espresso was watery (really not the way an espresso should be) and the piece of pecan pie tasted of nothing. Pecans are delicious when they are freshly roasted, these tasteless things were on an indeterminate layer of jam or something like slush.... Espresso 3.25 and that piece of cake 5 euros. Go ahead!

Too bad that Ingo can only be reached via the Drentsmuseum

Food was fine, but 12.95 for a mini bun of brioche or 10 euros for a single sandwich and you will still be hungry afterwards.. Staff was very friendly!

Hmmm, great museum cafe with a good menu, friendly staff, good coffee and probably a big improvement. However, there are some strange choices that mainly destroy the integration with the museum. The white ceiling is very prominent and you can already see a dirty black edge near the ventilation. The light chairs and benches are full of stains and you can clearly see where they are handled. The frames are gray and do not match the building and the standing tables should be removed, which is a shame. They are advice 😉

It is actually a kind of condition that a good museum also has good catering. Here at the Drents Museum, in my opinion, they have achieved a direct hit with Pingo. It is in a beautiful location in the museum and has a beautiful artistic design. Not unimportant, what they serve is fine and there are plenty of friendly staff

It has been renovated very nicely; beautifully spacious and nice ambiance. Only, we were not helped. The staff had disagreements and was mainly concerned with themselves: embarrassing and worthless. After ten minutes I got up again and left.

A very big improvement compared to the previous version in the Drentsmuseum. Lots of light and space, nice employees. Smooth service and a tasty lunch. In short, a great “stop” during your museum visit!

Armenian lunch dishes are highly recommended. For a maximum of €12.50 (see photos) you can eat in an acoustically quiet and visually beautiful environment. No idea why there isn't a queue to have lunch here; you are crazy if you visit Assen without this experience! Five stars if you can eat there without (paid) admission to the Drenthe Museum.

The brasserie can be reached via the Drents Museum. The opening hours are the same as those of the museum, so if you want to eat extensively you should take that into account. The ambiance is stylish. There is a lovely terrace in an antique courtyard where I had a cup of coffee with special apple pie.

Delicious pastries! The Drenthe boulder in particular is highly recommended👌🏼. Beautiful decor. Nice addition to a booklet at the museum.

Nice restaurant in the museum. We had something to drink here before we went to the Frida Kahlo exhibition. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The coffee and pastries were delicious. The staff was also friendly.
