And there's that ultimate rarity in my restaurant and delivery adventures: we've found the queen of 1-star service. ⭐️ We knew the reviews and thought, let's give it a try. Wow, a wrong order! Call, call again, wait, would it be okay? Bizarre, how can you deliver so calmly on a Monday evening with a completely different order? And then the handling, as if we were in a movie. Compensation, nope, apologies, nope. We did ask for the old order back :-), guess what? An extra 45 minutes, and our guests are naturally hungry, so we used the fries and a piece of meat as an appetizer. But they're not happy about that, haha. After an hour, do you want to give the order to the other people we were in contact with? They, of course, had our order, and their number was on the receipt. Several calls from the various delivery drivers and then to the physical location that was supposed to handle it (but we didn't hear anything back from them). How? Well, then they ring the doorbell again to claim their food back. Sounds like the plot and trailer for a great movie, but it's just set in boring Assen! Let's see how this adventure ends. (I did eventually get the order, but ……………) You fill in the blanks.

I wouldn't recommend it!!! We ordered delivery. We ordered two burgers, a Radler Amstel beer, and a bottle of Coca-Cola. The delivery arrived on time, but only one burger and fries were delivered. We called the delivery line and were told they hadn't delivered the beer and the Coke. They said they would bring them. Later, we discovered there was only one burger in the delivery. The delivery driver came and brought us a Heineken and a bottle of Coke. We then called the hotline again and were told there wasn't a second burger. They told us the cafe was closing and that we had to go to the cafe for the second burger. The delivery driver himself said he had checked the order and that there were two burgers, but that wasn't true!!! We then started calling the cafe directly, and only then did they bring us another burger. However, they actually brought us a beer, probably as a gift. We weren't satisfied with the service, which caused a lot of problems with the phone calls, and while everything was being resolved, it all went to hell. We also ordered different sauces for the burgers, but they were the same.

Money wasted!! I had hope after a few months, but unfortunately, it was wrong again and took an incredibly long time. The menu had no logical order, they made the wrong burgers, and the wait for orders was long. Replacement burgers didn't arrive for almost an hour, and they weren't warm. Even after giving feedback, things didn't improve. Every time, there was something wrong with the order, or it took forever. They either need to get a new owner or close down. Such a terrible business. I will never order from here again!

Good food satay sauce was a bit different than we are used to but good

Open until 11pm. You'd think you'd get help at 9:50pm, right? First you have to wait 10 minutes to be helped (nothing to do, but oh well) only to be told the fat is already off? To which I reply "Huh, you don't close until 11pm" Oh yeah, no, today we close at 10pm, so unfortunately not. Thought I'd try again after a while, seeing as I've had several bad experiences, but it's no wonder they're never busy when you're so busy🤙🏻

The satay sauce smelled and was FAILED!!! Inedible.

The food was fresh and good. Friendly service, but the building is a bit overdue for maintenance. The floor by the window is in poor condition, and the table is damaged and covered in tape. It could be a bit cleaner. Next time I'll take some pictures; it won't be the food's fault 😉

I am super satisfied with the service. I had a very nice delivery person who was super friendly and super fast and interested. The food was delicious, super hot and super fast. Customer-friendly by phone really great. I will definitely order from them more often. The friendly staff and I will definitely come there for a drink and lunch again. It's really great!

The food arrived fifteen minutes earlier than the delivery time, which was great. The rest of the food was delicious, though it was a bit over-seasoned. The only downside was that we had to assemble the XXL special frikandel ourselves; we received a large, closed frikandel and a container of mayo and curry with onions.

Trying to order food. Okay... we know we're in Drenthe and that the average person here isn't very smart. It's telling that they proudly label the people here as "citizens." What you get for it if you even think about ordering is what you expect.

We ordered two fries with shawarma and one medium milkshake for €36. There were very few fries and even less shawarma, and the milkshake was really small. A few fries had spices on them, but the rest didn't. A bit of a shame for that price. No more Burger Queen for us.

Waiting, waiting, and more waiting. We came back from vacation around 7:30 PM and placed the order. One portion of fries with peanut sauce, one portion of fries without, a frikadel, and a frikadel sandwich. It took two hours. We thought maybe it was busy because it was vacation. So we called anyway. We called to ask where our food was. Did they forget to make it? And we even got a free ice cream. But still, waiting two hours was really awful.

Can't comment on the food, but they definitely have the best soft serve ice cream I've ever had. So incredibly creamy...keep it up, Burger Queen👌🏼

The chicken burger was a huge disappointment at €8.95, so it's best to skip it. The fries are good, and the staff is friendly.

Every order is missing something. Without exception. Sauces, drinks, side dishes, sometimes even an entire part of the meal. It seems standard procedure. The food itself is only passable at best. Not bad, but certainly not good enough to compensate for the sloppiness. When complaints are made, they promise to fix it, but then it goes quiet. No feedback, no compensation or apology, nothing. We tried several times, hoping for improvement each time. But they clearly don't take service and customer experience seriously. Don't recommend it. I won't order from them again.

There are no dogs on the terrace because it is too expensive

Ridiculous prices... €5.75 for a cup of ice cream. Better go to Jongman or McDonald's. By the way, the sign says €4.25. When we asked if they were still using the TT price, they said the sign was wrong, but they still charged €5.75 at the cash register! Never again Burger Queen 👎🏻

Placed an order that was not delivered and they are very difficult about refund. I still have not received my money back and I am told every time that I will be called back which then does not happen. Never order here

Yesterday I ordered a burger queen sandwich. A burger with the name of the place. You would expect this to be the best of the best, but nothing could be further from the truth. A very mediocre burger! Very poorly decorated and a limp bun. I would not recommend it to anyone. Oh yes, they advertise free drinks, but you are no longer made aware of it during the ordering process.

Food was very bad and service just as bad. Then the bill comes more than €20 too much; The saslick is on the menu for €17.95 but on the receipt for €26.95 The chicken satay is on the menu for €18.95 but on the receipt for €20.95 Coke just like €3.95 instead of €3.25 Indicated that they have to adjust this, only the saslick is adjusted, asked again to adjust it, the staff says "these are the TT prices" I indicate that if these are the TT prices (not until next week anyway) they should put down a different menu, she says "No, we don't have a different menu during the TT" Stuck to my guns and paid the price on the menu (eventually after several corrections). I would also file my complaint with ACM, what a bunch of scammers.

Delicious hamburger! Unfortunately the thing fell apart because of the size and I had to eat it with a knife and fork.

In the end it's all about the food. Peanut sauce is putty just dirty and sticky. ask for: raspatat I get curly fries papat and mega expensive. And also mega stingy with sauce not the first time I get the wrong food. Price ratio way too expensive: 1 star Food 3 stars Quality 3.5 stars Atmosphere 5 stars. Service 3 stars, don't listen well to what you say.

July 2024: Not busy and yet had to wait a very long time for a take-away order and then discover at home that I received the wrong order. 🙁 April 21, 2025; 6:15 PM ordered food via Thuisbezorgd. The app said delivery time 7:19 PM. So we had to wait an hour. At 7:42 PM I called. The order was just ready, they said. At 8:04 PM the doorbell rang. 45 minutes later than expected I unpacked the order to discover that something had not been delivered... sigh.. The 2 hamburgers were no longer warm. The gyros with the fries gyros did not look tasty, it seemed cooked. The fries were floating in the fat of the gyros, not really tasty either. And well, I cannot judge the fries with peanut sauce, because they were not delivered. This was the 2nd time I ordered food here, because I believe in a 2nd chance. But 43.57 euros for 2 people is an expensive 2nd chance. Damn, what a waste of money. And of course I only read later, after the 2nd failed orders, how many bad reviews this place gets. So it was the last time I ordered food here.

What an incredibly bad store, orders take an excruciatingly long time even after you have called. The food is lukewarm and incomplete. Just let them close the doors because service and well-prepared food are hard to find there!

Ordered at 5:13 PM via Thuisbezorgd at Burger Queen, delivery at 6:40 PM. At 7:03 PM I decided to call, because there is still no food. I was told a lame excuse that they "only have a few delivery people" and that my order would only now be shipped next, and I had to go along with it. 20 minutes late and then also ask if I want to wait another 30 minutes? If you can't handle it, don't take orders. Scandalous.

Ended up here by chance yesterday. Smooth service, fries were tasty and not too salty, good hamburger and croquette sandwich (which was of a good size!). A fairly small house on the edge of the center, but cozy. Prices are in line with the market.

We ordered here for the first time because the rest were already closed. Finally, after 1 hour and 15 minutes, we received our lukewarm, incomplete order with 2 cans of coke for late delivery. This was the first and last time for us.

Luxury? Nothing luxurious about it. We ordered a schnitzel plate and a hamburger that tasted like cardboard. Schnitzel was disgustingly soggy and really didn't look good. I don't know where they got the chef from, but he doesn't cook anything. For 2.50 you get one dirty baked floury potato. Jesus, what a disappointment, we had to pay a total of 35 euros for it.

I was eating in the restaurant and an order had been placed by a healthcare institution. Suddenly an employee shouts: this order is for the downies from “care institution” to another colleague in the kitchen. It's really ridiculous that you treat people with disabilities this way. I don't recommend anyone to ever order anything here again, and we will certainly encourage that in our social circle in Assen.

Ik was in de zaak aan het eten en er was een bestelling geplaatst door een zorginstelling. Plots roept een medewerker: deze bestelling is voor de downies van “zorginstelling” naar een andere collega in de keuken. Echt belachelijk dat jullie zo omgaan met mensen die een beperking hebben. Ik raad niemand aan hier ooit nog iets te bestellen, dat zullen we ook zeker op het hart drukken in onze sociale kring in Assen.

No music, little sauce. When we ordered there was no friendliness from the staff. Food is thrown on the table without being appetizing or anything. Foreign boy with black hair couldn't even say hi.

Ordered several times and the food is great, but people are systematically too sparing with the sauce. A little more sauce with the fries and 5 stars in the review. Really do something with this, I hear everyone talking about this. Also did not receive the promised soft drink when spending more than 30 euros.

I’ve been ordering from Burger Queen for a while and was always satisfied. However, my latest order was just terrible. First of all, the coffee arrived spilled, ruining my bed due to poor packaging. Secondly, the Arizona burger was in such a mess that it seemed like it was thrown together in a hurry. Half of the ingredients were scattered in the bag, the bun fell apart, and the patties were so overcooked that I could barely eat them. The pineapple and onions were burnt, and there was almost no egg or mushrooms. As for the fries, they were overcooked and hard, and the garlic sauce tasted spoiled. I spent 22 euros on this order and expected at least decent quality, but I ended up having to throw most of it away. The delivery was also 20 minutes late. This was the worst order I’ve ever received. Extremely disappointed with the food quality and service."

Had to wait 1.5 hours for food, which was then cold and incomplete. A downright worthless tent. Then went to another chip shop, ready within 15 minutes and much cheaper. And 10x tastier. It used to be a lot better. We will never go to Burger Queen again.

Yesterday I got fries at the salon for 11.50, with a 1 euro surcharge for the fries, which is very strange. Then you get a plate with a lump of fries (the size of a large frie, which costs 5.50) with a handful of shawarma meat, a slice of cheese and some raw vegetables. no sauce. That for 12.50. too expensive. Shawarma was nicely seasoned, nice staff always.

The food was fine, according to the site 2 free soft drinks at + €30. These were not included, the children's mayonnaise was not included in the menus. Ordered the food before 6:45 PM... called to find out where it was at 7:15 PM. Then it still had to be fixed. At 7:40 PM they were at the door. Very disappointed in the service. Not even a phone call to explain why they were so delayed. It was a lot of money for this way of treating customers.

Snacks waren koud. Helft van bestelling was niet zo als besteld. Na een uur bellen dat de glutenvrije snacks op waren en dat je contact op moet nemen met thuisbezorgd. Ik zal hier niet weer iets bestellen

We had placed an order that would be delivered at 4:00 PM. After calling at 4:20 PM, the food finally arrived at 4:35 PM. At least, that's what we thought. The wrong order was delivered. This was later exchanged by the delivery person. No compensation, and when we indicated on the phone that we wanted our money back and no longer needed the order, that was not an option. We will never order from here again.

Delivery was supposed to take place at 7:30 PM, which turned out to be 8:00 PM. At 7:30 PM I received a call from an employee to say that the satay croquettes were sold out and to ask which snack I would like. The food tastes great, but after placing the order (it was quiet) we were waiting 45 minutes for 2 burgers and some fries. And while people around us who had ordered later already received their food. No mention was made that it might take longer and no apologies afterwards for the delay. You shouldn't come here for good service.

We have been here several times. The food is top notch. Even the pork satay is delicious, as the meat should be, "wonderfully tender". The other different menus are also delicious. You also get more than enough. The employees are always in a good mood and always have a kind word. The service and atmosphere are excellent. We like to come here when we are in Assen. On Saturday, May 20, I was almost hit by a delivery person from this indecent company in axes on the station road. I came from the right. The guy who probably got his driver's license for free with enough food at this company cuts me off and passes me by at least 50 kilometers. So I politely sent the company a message about the incident and that they should probably speak to the kid, a school dropout, about it. The company reads the message but does not offer an excuse or a reason, very unprofessional and indecent. Next time I'll call the police and hope the little guy gets a driving ban and a big fine! So don't buy anything from this indecent company!!

Order placed, upon arrival my order was given to a delivery person, this can happen. Waited for delivery person to return, order taken. Only to find out when I got home that it wasn't what I ordered. When I called, they indicated that the online menu was incorrect. To make a long story short, we waited a long time for a cold "wrong" burger... The citizens are normally really "to die for", but a shame about this "service".

Ordered Queenie burger. Quite very pricey. For 11.95 Euro you get a fairly small hamburger on a mediocre bun. Waiting was long, but staff couldn't do anything about that - there were just a lot of orders. All in all not recommended. For this amount you can get a better hamburger sandwich with fries elsewhere.

Ordered gyros fries here twice on Boxing Day. After ordering by telephone, we were able to report for our fries and gyros after 20 minutes (!). The staff was somewhat friendly and helpful, the food was of extremely poor quality. No sauce on the fries and the fat was dripping off. No more burger queen for me!

Ordered at half past six (Dallas burger, 2 fries special, frikandel special and a bami slice) via the website. Total amount €27.95 delivery time 30 minutes 😟. Half past six, I called again, where is the order? Yes, busy busy and so on will be coming soon 😟 Delivered half past seven, sorry sorry, busy busy apologies. Then NO Dallas burger and cold fries. Called again, owner says how is that possible, I baked the burger myself, but I made and brought a new one with new fries! All in all 20:15 we could eat 😒😡😤 Never again!!

Had dinner this afternoon at the Burger Queen lunchroom in Assen. The Tosti oroginal and the Tosti Hawaii.. It tasted delicious. And it was beautifully presented. The lady's service was extremely correct... and very fast. In short...a big 10 and highly recommended.

Ordered these spareribs for the first time today. Collection time: 5:20 PM, ready on time. Ordered mild variant. I have to be honest, they are really delicious. Tender, good in marinade and large portion. Delicious sauce, three types. And well-fried thick fries and delicious corn on the cob.
