The oysters and bubbly are actually always amazing here!

Sit comfortably on a terrace in the sun, drank beers, and ate delicious Maastricht sour meat stew. And it is very tasty! Highly recommended!

Linda gets an 11 on a scale of 9 to 10. My glass is always refilled on time.

5 star expérience for the bottomless brunch at Bar &Kitchen de Zuid this Sunday! Don't let the name fool you - it's in the East and that's a great thing! Sunny terrace, great service, and delicious food. Highlights are the bottomless bloody Mary's & Cava (they also have Paloma's on offer) chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and French toast. Next time, those cinnamon buns are a must try (they are HUGE). I think they plan to do this once a month and as the weather warms up that terrace is calling!!! It's a real gem. I want to keep it a bit of a secret but they so deserve the publicity. Also they have other monthly events so check out their website. This place is ACE.

Our first visit here for quite a few years but not much has changed - great choice of food with the daily specials taking my fancy on this occasion. Friendly and attentive service - relaxing atmosphere.

Great atmosphere! A bit crowded, but nice.

My son and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat after some DIY. It has a cozy decor, including a large aerial photo of what used to be Java Island. We ordered a mini chicken thigh satay (one skewer). You can also order two or three skewers. It was delicious, with plenty of satay sauce and good chicken breasts, including mayo. It also seems like a nice place for a drink at the bar. The service was attentive.

I often come here on Wednesday evenings after teaching my Salsa lessons for drinks. 🍷 It's super cozy in terms of decor and atmosphere, and the service is fantastic :) 🤗 Very friendly, attentive people who offer genuine service and make you feel welcome! The "loaded nachos" are especially delicious, as is the watermelon juice! I'll definitely be back often.

Great place, only a pity they ripped me off for €11

I had a very pleasant dinner. I ordered half dozen oysters. They were fresh and yummy. Then, as a main dish I chose a steak with some chips. The steak was perfect medium done, and the veggies as a side were good and tasty. I really enjoyed my dinner. The waitresses were nice and friendly.

Despite the busy Sail, the staff was very friendly, welcoming, and fast. The food was delicious and served quickly. A top-notch restaurant.

We weren't prepared for Sail (already exhausted on day 1). The owner was downright rude. Maybe find another job if this isn't your thing?!

The menu has changed and the food items are no longer as healthy. I did ask to substitute the fries for rice. Dinner took one hour to arrive to my table. Tasked okay but not worth the one hour wait.

Overpriced. 3 pieces of satay on a skewer, chips, fries, and three forkfuls of raw vegetables for 18 euros. The waitress made no effort to explain the dishes in English. She said mussels were fish and told us (no) that artichokes were vegetables and were served with nothing but sauces. Slow service. In short, I do not recommend it.

Cheese fondue and mussels, if they are on the menu, are the tastiest.

What a great place! Great food and super fun that there were oysters! We sat on the terrace out of the wind. Lots of choice of different wines. Now Amsterdam is not exactly known for its hospitable staff in the catering industry, but that is not noticeable here. We were served by a friendly twenty-something who gave us professional wine advice. And in any case, the staff made us feel like we were being seen. I think it is a family business, you can tell. When we visit the capital again with SAIL, we will definitely come back.

I love the food, wine and the staff of this amazing cafe in Amsterdam. Their menu is inventive, the atmosphere is always great. I visited their Sommelier Selection, what a fun event with a wine theme and tastings of amazing wines. I highly recommend!

The place is nice but the deep fried bites came pretty dark looking like. Seems that the oil hasn’t been changed. Moreover, there was no one checking if I would like something else to drink. I had to have the eye contact all the time. The service could be significantly improved. ✌️🙏

Had a delicious meal here after a day of work with my son. My son had the ribeye, very good, but what I really want to mention was the perfect arsparagus I had. Good texture, tasty ham & potatoes in butter. Super, recommended while the asparagus season still lasts! And friendly service

It's a typical local type pub with a large food and drink menu. I ordered the nachos. It came on a serving platter loaded with everything! I really appreciated the pickled jalapenos. Serves one very hungry person or share with the table. It's a cozy place.

Excellent restaurant, visited several times. Quite a homely atmosphere and excellent service. Food is mainly comfort food and wine selection is decent. Recommends the satay, very good meat and good fries. There is also a terrace for summer days. Reservations strongly recommended. Tent is not large and quite busy.

Wonderful no-nonsense opportunity with delicious mussels

Came spontaneously on a warm evening for a light bite for dinner, sat outside on the terrace and were promptly served by the friendly staff. Chose two starters and drinks, both were very tasty and delicious, big enough for us, all together 30€. We can definitely recommend!

First experience with De Zuid. Immediately an error with the reservation, we missed it completely instead of 6 people double booked for 18 people. Could be a coincidence, or would they have preferred a larger group......🤔. Initially placed indoors, but were kindly helped by one of the colleagues. She sensed it and made sure we got a nice table outside, otherwise we wouldn't have stayed. Served neatly all evening by this same lady, we saw her toil from table to table with the same friendly smile. Food was fine...recommended: mussel pan, chicken satay and sizzling steak. Overall great experience and the restaurant took revenge after a dramatic start.

The nachos were very tasty. The service was very polite, it just took a little longer to serve.

Great service and amazing food in De Zuid. One of the tastiest breakfasts I had in a long time- Turkish eggs. Tuna melt was quite impressive too. All washed down with a glass of ice cold Gulpner on a sunny day. Mmmm 😀

Really great customer service! The menu is not in English but the staff is more than happy to translate all the goodies. Very cute on the inside, outdoor dining. Also. Blankets accommodated outdoors to stave off the chill.

A great place to eat in Amsterdam just outside the city centre. Lots of locals and some amazing food. We tried the Indonesian and Roti and weren't disappointed. A little pricey though

Ik heb recent m’n verjaardag gevierd in De Zuid. Van te voren werd alles goed doorgesproken..Op de dag zelf was het perfect verzorgd. Het eten, drinken en de bediening waren top! Ik had er geen omkijken naar. Mijn 22 gasten en ik hebben een superleuke avond gehad!

Helaas geen fijne ervaring gehad hier. Slordige organisatie, hoe aardig ook. 40+ minuten wachten op 1 broodje en ondanks meerdere keren vragen en horen dat ‘het komt’, werd uiteindelijk meegedeeld dat het naar een andere tafel is gegaan. Verder niks. We zijn hierna maar vertrokken.

I used to love this place. But the food has been declining for years now. Speed, food quality, and pricing are a challenge. Our server took over ten minutes to bring us menus, and another ten to bring over food. Had to get them multiple times just to get our kids fed. Other tables seated after us were served food before us which is a parent's worst nightmare with hungry kids. Then, when our food came, it felt super lazy: fried chicken wasn't de-boned, my salad had the lettuce core left in, and although we wanted to order one of the menu items we couldn't. We would have ordered three hamburgers together, but couldn't because they had to be ordered within a menu and for €29 each. There's an amazing burger restaurant a few blocks away, and for half the price we could have enjoyed what we wanted. Thirty euros for a burger and a grilled pineapple feels extortionate. Sorry, Felix. I love you but your restaurant is a pub. Build a menu like that and you might see your sales go up. But unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Finally dined here yesterday and the food is amazing. The flavour of the dishes we had were incredible, and the portions were either just right or generous. The place can get fairly crowded as it's a popular neighbourhood haunt, but you can take your chances walking in if you're early.

Good place for breakfast, lunch, or dining. The Benedict eggs are awesome. The uitsmijters can be better: the chef forgot to remove cheese paper, maybe it affected our impression. The coffee is really good. Interesting interior and atmosphere, will visit this place in the future :)

A good place to have a dinner during a rainy eve

Ik ben totaal niet objectief. Heb hier tien jaar achter de bar gestaan. Gevalletje Wij van WC eend dus... MAAR. Wat een ENORM lekkere asperges heb ik hier vandaag gegeten. Zit al drie uur na te genieten :)

Solide hoeksteen in de buurt! Fijne bar / restaurant met gewoon goede bediening, snelle service, stabiele kwaliteit eten; gewoon altijd raak!

Het is er erg gezellig en je kan er ongelofelijke lekker eten.

Vorige week toevallig hier aangewaaid gezien we op woensdag zin hadden in een pubquiz. Ter plekke waren we zo verrast door de leuke sfeer en fantastische bediening dat we maar meteen voor het menu zijn gegaan. En wat waren we blij! Een heerlijke fondue, een lekker kippetje en een cocktail als toetje. Uiteindelijk een super leuke avond gehad met een leuke pubquiz. We komen graag snel weer langs!
