What a lovely experience. Cocktails were really on point, from the classics to their signatures. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Just overall I would go back 100 times and more.

Kindly disregard any previous unfavourable reviews made by those perhaps less acquainted with the art of fine drinking — it is in your own best interest to do so. On a late Sunday afternoon, my friends and I found ourselves at Bar Oldenhof. Some were initially hesitant, swayed by online commentary, yet I persuaded them to trust the experience — and rightly so. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated at a table well-suited to our group. Service began with water and a courteous overview of the menu, followed by bespoke cocktail recommendations thoughtfully tailored to each of us. What was meant to be a casual round turned into a delightful series of impeccably crafted drinks. The cocktails were balanced, elegant, and executed with finesse — far too enjoyable to resist. We left thoroughly pleased, appetite whetted, and with an excellent dinner recommendation to round off the evening. Many thanks to the Oldenhof team for a truly distinguished experience.

An nice bar to stop off for one or two drinks before moving on. I loved the cocktails I ordered, but it is hit and miss. Some of my friends ordered basic cocktails such as a margarita, and honestly it tasted dreadful. The fancy and unusual cocktails they make frequently seem great, but avoid standard items not listed on the menu. Other than this, the atmosphere sophisticated and comfortable. It's quite a mixed crowd inside, so it's interesting to visit and see who you may cross paths with. I recommend a good Ole porn star martini if you visit 🍸

We did a whiskey tasting, which was awesome. The owner talked us through the beautiful history of whiskey with some great whiskeys. What do want more?! But the real speciality are the cocktails, when around try the ‘you should not pass’. Had a great night.

The service is a bit slow when you sit upstairs so you’re finished your cocktail and just waiting to soak your throat with another tasty one but in a way, it’s worth the wait.

This place has one of the best pornstar martinis and I love that they give you a spoon so you can eat the passion fruit. Also tried the Balrog which is fabulous. Perfect place for a cocktail!

My husband and I stumbled onto this bar and we were so excited to try it. We were not disappointed. Easily the best bar we’ve been to! Between the amazing drinks, very friendly and capable bartenders, and the laid back atmosphere, we had an absolute blast! We will for sure be coming back when we stop into Amsterdam next!

The bar has a cozy, stylish atmosphere that immediately gives you the feeling that you are entering something special. I rolled into Bar Oldenhof with my crew, ordered some cocktails, and then the owner struts over, telling me to ditch my Adidas jersey (because of the stripes, seriously?). It was freaking cold in there, and we’d just dropped cash on 5 drinks! What a stuck-up jerk. I’m NEVER stepping foot in that dump again.

Went here for our two year anniversary, as we love a good cocktail. Despite both being from Amsterdam we haven’t been here before, and it was such a joy to discover. It was an especially busy night for the staff, but they were incredibly lovely and accommodating. Cocktails 10/10, added touch of the movie themed cocktails was really fun. Unique drinks as well, we will be back ❤️

It has a rich and different cocktail menu. The place attracts you with its dim lighting and music. The taste of the cocktails is not that great, but they taste better compared to many places. Prices are slightly above average

This concept not only provides a surprising and playful experience, but also makes it fun to discover different genres and flavors together with friends. This place was amazing, great staff amazing cocktails! The movie menu is so cool, this was definitely our favorite bar in Amsterdam!!

One of a kind cocktail bar! I really like the staff and they always know what to make for you based on your taste in cocktails. The cocktails are very nice, especially their signature espresso martini! It’s a bit different from the traditional recipe, but I like it way more! A conversation with the bartenders will definitely make your night, as they always try to make time for customers who come alone. Because it’s a very popular bar, you’ll have to wait outside if there’s no space left, but you’ll often get a table within 15 minutes or so.

Updated Thank you to the owner for the prompt response. I made a special trip to the bar tonight to double-check the charges and get the difference refunded. While it was a bit of a hassle, the owner’s attitude was great, and everything was resolved smoothly on my last night in Amsterdam. - It was my first time visiting the bar, and my friend and I each ordered a cocktail, which cost around 15 to 20 euros. I’m not sure if there was a minimum spend, but when it came time to pay, we were charged 77 euros. It didn’t feel great—if there are any restrictions or rules, they really should let customers know in advance.

Had an amazing time at this place, super nice staff and a beautiful cocktail menu! We just saw a review that stated the Espresso Martini was bad… Honeslty the espresso martini on the menu might be the best we ever had! Highly recommend this place!

How is this place rated 4.7? Nothing classy about it. Menu in plastic paper. Ceiling in fake wood. Below average cocktails, even a simple espresso martini, they can’t get right and top this off the owner is so entitled and rude he shouts at you to wait outside. I live in Amsterdam for 20 years and live in the same street, I never once heard about that bar… now I know why… only Americans and Canadians or tourists sent by their hotels. So many nicer bars in Amsterdam. Avoid at all cost.

The waiters are super rude, the cocktails are way too overpriced and not well made. They basically kicked us out after 1 hour because we didn’t order expensive enough drinks. What a way to ruin someone’s birthday. They shouldn’t take reservations if they will act this way.

Definitely very local and cosy cocktail bar. The signature cocktails are nice and recommend 👌🏻 prices are a bit higher than usual but definitely worth it. It is not that big bar, recommend to come here at most 4people. Not convenient for a group gathering.

Oldenhof is such a great place to discover in Amsterdam, I couldn’t recommend it enough. Incredible cocktails from an interesting menu, and a staff with such a large span of cocktail knowledge . Our waiters Vince and Martin were very friendly and helpful, and might I add Martin was very impressive to watch making cocktails (I recommend sitting at the bar!), he was impressively fast and the cocktails came with impeccable presentation and taste. A must do in Amsterdam!

Our bartender Martin was so incredible and helpful, and the cocktails really make you want to come back. Trust me, it’s rare that you come across a place like this. Everyone reading this should check Oldenhof out, a must do in Amsterdam.

Super fun space and atmosphere. Great menu of cocktails and bartenders who are friendly and accommodating. Very much appreciate Vince riffing with us on a couple drinks where we knew the spirit we wanted (a bit of cachaca!) but needed a bit of help figuring out the cocktail to deliver it in.
