Bar Twenty Two in De Weteringschans

Was all going so well, several rounds, good service. BUT, was then given a Bombay Saphire G&T, made with flat tonic. Asked for a replacement, but was refused on the grounds I had taken a sip from it! No manager available to complain to, apparently. Huh? Shame, will not be revisiting, and advise others not to go near the place with attitudes like that.

My food (a hamburger) was raw!😔 Plus it didn’t taste good anyways,But the service was good!😇 (thank you pink hair lady)

This was quite a nice experience. We sat outside, and while the area has a lot of different restaurant seating close together, the service was seamless. We used their online menu and ordered, and the food and drinks came without problems. It wasn’t necessarily a life-changing experience, but the burgers were big and tasty, and the drinks well-made. I think this restaurant makes for a great, simple dinner while in Amsterdam.

Pathetic service / ignored us for 10 minutes even after asking them for order / did not behave nicely / neither gave good drinks / avoid at all cost / Mike taking our order is rude as hell

These people are fantastic! We were here with colleagues for work and decided to go out for the evening; well, if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the place to be! Super friendly and very cozy! One of my colleagues knocked over two glasses, but they were very friendly about that too! (Sorry again) Thanks for the fun evening you gave us!

The cocktails are a bit expensive, but normal for Leidseplein and really really good. The vibe is nice and the atmosphere is great. The only downside was that the waitresses kept coming with a plate of shots trying to sell them, which felt a bit too much. Overall still a really nice spot.

Came for drinks and food, when ordering food were told it can’t be cooked as the kitchen is closed. Therefore we asked for cutlery to eat our own food, but were told because only 2 ppl out of 3 were ordering drinks we couldn’t have our food. In order to be able to eat it everyone needs to get a drink. This is nonsense situation. Wouldn’t recommend the place as it’s not really client oriented.

WATCH OUT! They had a clip joint scam here. Waitress comes with tray of drinks insisting to play a free game, roll some dice, get a drink. Now suddenly you have to pay a crazy price for a drink you never asked. DON'T GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE TO GET SCAMMED!!!!

My daughter and her friend were turned away from the terrace because they weren't 18. Even though they only wanted a Coke… and they have a house rule that they don't discriminate based on age… weird and unwelcoming place.

Mike, our server, was absolutely amazing, so kind and attentive. He noticed it was our birthdays and went out of his way to make it extra special, which we really appreciated

The cocktails are good. They have a variety of whiskies, but no vintages, only the JW series. It's very noisy inside, but the atmosphere is nice. The self-service aspect is a drawback.

It has both a pub section and an indoor dancing area. The outdoor seating area was nice, and the music playing inside was also good, but we didn't like it much because the average age seemed a bit high. The waiter was very sweet and polite. There was a charge for restrooms.

The place is beautifully decorated both inside and out, and the drinks are all delicious. Our highlight was the service; I don't think I've ever seen anyone who was so enthusiastic and cheerful at work.

Definitely the worst place in Amsterdam. The bar kept serving clearly drunk customers who were starting fights with other guests. It felt unsafe.

Horrible place for lunch. I ordered a tuna sandwich. You get an uncooked baguette with half-melted plastic cheese. When you ask how that's possible, they look at you dumbly and don't understand what you mean.

The bartender need to learn how to make a cocktail

A very nice bar. Very professional and friendly staff, always attentive to the customer's needs. Very good beers and wines, as are the spring rolls. Really good value for money for Amsterdam.

I am following up on Frida’s review which she left as well today. My cocktail came with a moldy passion fruit, and my friend Frida’s cocktail which had egg white in it had a strong rotten smell. When we brought up that my drink was moldy, it was replaced. However, we were still charged for the drink which was surprising. When we mentioned the issue with Frida’s drink, instead of showing concern, the manager was defensive claiming that the drink was meant to smell that way. Like my friend, I usually don’t write negative reviews, but this was really quite a bad experience.

Yesterday my friend and I ordered two cocktails at this bar. One of our cocktails arrived with a mouldy passion fruit garnish, and another, an egg-white-based cocktail, had a very unpleasant, rotten smell. When we raised these issues, the drink with the mouldy garnish was replaced, but surprisingly, we were still charged for the drink. When I brought up the issue with my drink, I was met not with concern but with defensiveness and condescension from the manager. He insisted the drink was supposed to smell that way and accused me of trying to take advantage of the situation. He repeatedly said things like “Did we fix it? Did we fix it?” in a dismissive tone, referring only to the other drink, and made no effort to acknowledge or address my concern. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, and I’m not someone who complains easily, but the combination of poor quality and an unprofessional, confrontational attitude left a bad impression. At the very least, we expected a polite conversation, not to be treated with suspicion after pointing out valid concerns.

I was walking down Leidsestraat and heard a bass that could only mean one thing...HARDCORE! Awesome in the center of Amsterdam, and free admission too :) I hope this happens more often at this location! Greetings, Nick

We were actually in Dan Murphys Irish bar next door, but its very clear the food comes from bar 22, we had nachos twice from here, and they were lovely!!

Celebrated a birthday with a friend! We were helped by Mike. He's a really nice gentleman who really pays attention, making sure we have a great time!

I had an amazing time at Bar Twenty Two. The atmosphere is stylish yet cozy, perfect for relaxing or starting a fun night out. The cocktails were next-level — creative, well-balanced, and beautifully served. Staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome right away. Music and lighting were just right — not too loud, but with a great vibe. Definitely one of the best spots I’ve visited in Amsterdam. Highly recommend for a chill evening or a classy pre-party.

It has an outdoor space which is nice and busy. They had tried to turn the inside space into an improvised nightclub but it wasn't that nice, so we just went for a drink outside.

Disappointing… We were there on a Saturday evening (7-8pm), we were two to have dinner. We waited 20minutes for a waiter to take our order that arrived 20minutes later. Quantity are ridiculous, the chicken salad was full of salad with three small pieces of chicken. The nachos were ok. The terrace, where we ate was full of super loud groups, smoking (not only tobacco) and abusively drinking. The vibe could have been better… prices are okay for ledseplein but definitely not worth it.

Very nice atmosphere. Very professional service, our gas bottle was replaced and there was a show-like mini explosion (intentional and harmless).

Been coming here for 1.5 years now and always thought it was a really nice place. Never had any problems with payment until now. Push for payment and remain standing until payment is made, while indicating that you want to remain seated for a while. Moved to another table with a bill of 55 euros because payment was not made quickly enough. Not neat

Currently sitting on the terrace with a buddy. We order such a nice beer because hey, pilsner! So we order two large beers, delicious. But then, we order two more beers and a buddy of mine orders it. It's cheaper, why is that? Automatic tip given! We're not in the US! So just boycott this place

There were plenty of 'classic' cocktails on the menu, but some were slightly different than how you normally make them. We weren't really sure how much alcohol was in the cocktail either, but we weren't guessing most of it. We also thought it was quite pricey for what we got. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to have a chat with the bartender.

Cozy bar on the Leidseplein. Inside you can enjoy a live DJ and outside on the Amsterdam terraces. Friendly staff, clean and tidy place! We will definitely come back!

Je suis allé dans cet endroit en novembre 2024 avec deux amies. On s’est mises en terrasse en espérant pouvant avoir une table chauffante et malgrès avoir demandé qu’ils allument le feu plusieurs fois. Les serveurs ont été arrogants et ne nous on pas servis ni pris notre commande en 45 minutes, malgrès leur avoir expliqué qu’on ne pouvait pas commander sur internet. Le bar n’était pas complet mais les serveurs ne prenaient pas le temps de nous écouter. Malgrès le lieu agréable, le manque de respect des serveurs est frappant.

I was very disappointed by the service here. The waiter seemed to be friendly at the beginning but then indirectly forced us to order more rounds of drinks after 30 min or else we need to leave for new people to come. The drinks were horrible too. Would not recommend!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service!! We ordered some cocktails and one of us totally didn’t like her drink(we all tasted it and didn’t like it,it tasted strange).So she told this to the waiter and we ask if it was possible to take it of the tap and give the drink back(something very common in any restaurant).He said that wasn’t possible so we said ok and leave it there.Minutes later he returned to our table,sit ON the table (not at but literally ON the table)and said he spoke to the manager and the manager said it’s ok(to take it of the tap and take the drink back).After this he ask us to pay the bill and i told him we didn’t ask for the bill.He answer “well im gonna need you to pay for the bill”.Basically he passively,unfriendly and mostly intimidatingly aggressively was asking us to pay the bill and to leave.After this we paid and left the place without finishing our drinks.I’ve never experience something like this.Vey strange and disrespectful behavior

Visited Amsterdam from Groningen. The whole environment was lovely and we had the best server, Mike, handling the busy-ness of saturdayevening like a champ and still being super chill and so friendly. Amazing team of servers and great vegetarian options for snacking too!! Highly recommend:)

We have refused service because one person from group didn’t want to have anything. So they told us that it’s a busy place and everyone has to have drinks. We just left:)

Sentado afuera para tomar una copa en una tarde muy tranquila con otra mesa ocupada. El camarero tomó el orden y luego fue a charlar con otro camarero durante 10 minutos hasta que llamé su atención. Vino y me dijo que las bebidas no tardarían mucho en desaparecer dentro para reaparecer 5 minutos después con las bebidas. En una noche ajetreada no me importaría un retraso en el servicio, pero el personal realmente no tenía nada más que hacer.

The waiter brings a blanket with holes in it! Afterwards, after drinking more than €400 with a group in this bar. They say the hole in our blanket was our fault when it was already there! I think this is a shame, even though we drank a lot.
