Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere!!

The menu has no translation in English so it's fully in Dutch, although the location is in an international city. It just shows how much they care about you as a customer. The food is average, prepared by students who probably work temporary: bread from AH, the girl assembling the food has the hands full of metal bracelets, the pinsa with vegetables has a splash of feta spread and lots of spicy oil which makes it really hot. House policy: no laptops on thrle table from Friday to Sunday. The space and atmosphere are better than the food and hospitality level.

I came across this cafe while staying in the Leiden area. At first glance from the outside, it looked very nice. However, the service provided by one of the employees was very rude and condescending. I ordered a cappucino and the employee continued to ask if that's what I wanted. Gave weird vibes. Then, she laughed when it wasn't appropriate I will not be visiting here again. It was not worth it.

Nice meal at Barista Cafe. Seating area outside is cozy and comfortable. Menu has lots of tasty options. Would return again. Coffees are really tasty. The desserts looked really nice too.

It has an inner garden, so when the weather is nice you can enjoy the peace and quiet outside!

Such a lovely coffee shop! Both on the patio and inside. I've had specialty coffees and iced coffees here a few times now, and they're all delicious. A real treat. It's often quite busy, so you might have to wait a little longer for your drink, but you won't notice. The seating is wonderful.

My favorite cafe in Leiden! The first floor has a cozy sit down area with some children’s toys stacked away neatly on the shelf. The second floor is seating for smaller groups and the third floor offers a large table and studying “laptop area” (they have designated laptop times on their tables upstairs, so make sure you check before settling in to read or study! Outdoor seating is available out back and smaller area up front! The area out back has umbrellas so you can avoid the dutchie downpours that frequently occur! I come every weekend to get some coffee and have some “me time” and they are consistently friendly, helpful and kind!

Great food and the service was excellent!

We ordered an iced coffee with soy milk but got an iced latte. Because that's what it looks like, right? 😉 Afterwards, we were told that the iced coffee isn't freshly made in the summer. It's too much work. They only have ready-made iced coffee from the machine. We'll go to other locations, like Lisse and Haarlem, where you can also order iced coffee with plant-based milk during peak season.

Good food and fast service, too bad you're sent all the way to the attic if you bring a laptop, even when it's not busy at all and plenty of seats are available.

We had a very good and filling breakfast on a Sunday ☺️ Luckily, at 9:30 a.m., the terrace was still very empty, so we were able to get a spot spontaneously. By 10 a.m., it was already quite busy. The service was very friendly, and we felt completely at home in the location. The menu was very appealing overall, and the barista breakfast offered a variety of delicious specialties 😍

We had breakfast here. The service was fast, efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was brought quickly and was very good. We had the Barista breakfast and eggs Benedict. It was more than enough and delicious! The next day we ate there again for lunch.

Nice deck terrace at the back. Very extensive coffee and tea menu. Small steps to terrace and toilets all the way up.

Nice location. Fast service. Ate Mango Chicken Sandwich. Few walnuts and too wet salad. Choice of brown, white bread or focaccia. For the focaccia you pay 1.50 extra, this is not mentioned.

This is a lovely cafe in the city of Leiden. Whenever friends or family visit I like to take them to this establishment as it is a nice place for a chat and has great drinks and sweet food options. The atmosphere is lovely and I highly recommend sitting outside on their patio area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great place!

Croffles — croissants toasted in a waffle iron — savory with smashed avocado, poached eggs and chillie oil, or sweet with ricotta, honey, strawberry and basil — are amazing.

Enjoyed Easter brunch with family. Friendly service. The food served was fine and sufficient. Good price quality. The building is attractive. Will definitely come back. For me personally a small downside, I noticed with another Barista, the coffee could be hotter and a little more in the cup. Everything else is very satisfactory.

Everything was great! Saw a negative comment about a laptop. I asked about it and was told it is allowed only upstairs and not busy times. This seems reasonable to me. We had food, latte and cortado. Very good and well presented.

We were pleasantly surprised at how efficient the processes were here. Fast & professional but not hectic. Very friendly staff - highly recommended!

Even though I work for the "competition", i also live in the neighborhood, I think it's important to be honest and say that I really like Barista team and the place! One of my favourites places, with great coffee! Lovely and young team! I tried the new menu today - Pinsa Prosciutto Ricotta and it was delicious! See you soon!!!

Characteristic and very nice place, unfortunately the cleanliness of the cutlery left something to be desired. I ordered orange juice and they brought me apple juice. However, very friendly staff.

Unfortunately the espresso was very sour, not at all what we expected.

I can’t fault the staff, they are lovely. The breakfast I had was great. The nonsense policy about using devices is.. absolute nonsense. Particularly as there are no signs warning you. It was absolutely embarrassing for me too, and I feel sorry for the staff having to enforce this ridiculous policy. How to go from 5* to 2*. Shame really as it is a really nice place.

Very cozy tent! When booking by email, please take into account a longer waiting time. I sent a message via email on the website for the same day and received a response 3 days later. Better to call for a reservation. We did go and there happened to be room, but because it is a very cozy place, it fills up quickly.

Lots of choice for drinks, a varied menu that makes it fun to visit. I'm a big fan of the flat brown, with a little chocolate. They also always have nice seasonal specials. Nice place to have lunch, have a drink or study. Tables are a bit close together, which makes the image restless and it is sometimes difficult to get to your chair without bumping into other people

Really enjoyed the high tea here. Cakes and vegetarian bites were delicious.

We hebben hier geluncht. En drukke plek, in ieder geval op zaterdagmiddag, maar gelukkig kan er net een tafel vrij. De koffie is echt heerlijk!!! De lunch lekker, niet heel geweldig maar ook niet slecht.

"I am going to have to ask you to close your laptop now, my manager says that laptops are not allowed today". Should be a clear rule then, that you can see before entering the café.

We had a delicious high tea here, all wraps, toasts, scones and cakes were very tasty and of good quality. Cozy atmosphere and nice service.

Very nice and attractively decorated coffee bar. You can sit here and enjoy something to drink and eat. The lunch tasted very delicious. The staff is very friendly.

Coffee is extremely dark roast which is not my thing. Also sad that one is not allowed to take out laptops even if you are a simple consuming costumer that just mainly had a virtual life. This is not the place to go for this.

We went here for lunch with our daughter who is allergic to several nuts. So nice how seriously the service took this. It was checked again and again whether she could really eat it. And that, if things have gone wrong several times in other places, is very nice. Delicious food, cozy tent and top service!

Always a very relaxed place to sit, whether inside or on the terrace. Very nice that the offer keeps changing with the specials, always fun to try out the new ones. Friendly service and tasty drinks! :)

Nice to sit on their terrace in the center of Leiden, where it is very quiet. By this I mean that you are in a kind of courtyard and that you only go there when you have to be there. So don't sit outside on a busy street.

This is such a gem in Leiden that you really must visit. Here you can really drink the tastiest ice coffee with whipped cream (not as good anywhere else) and have a delicious breakfast, lunch or high tea. All have already been tried and the staff is so friendly and they are all hard workers who conjure up the tastiest products.

Excellent coffee with free oat milk and very tasty vegan chocolate cake! Unfortunately, the menu does not correspond to the menu on the website, the website has more vegan options than they actually have (perhaps the menu in this branch still needs to be updated?)

Lured by the post on Insta about choclate-mint ice coffee, we went here again. Normally the latte macchiato here is fine, but this chocolate-mint ice cream variant is a miss. This is a coffee with little milk foam, lots of ice cubes and a dash of syrup de menthe from Tesseire, which gave the whole thing a cough syrup association. Chocolate flavor was nowhere to be found. I had imagined a coffee with after-eight. The fresh orange juice was okay.

The workers here were the best and they were super friendly and had such great suggestions for drinks and dessert. I ordered the Waterlemon Lemondae and it was delicious. The server also recommended the Red Velvet Brownie and I loved it! This is a great place to unwind and relax.

We ended up in this little café by chance and sat in the cozy courtyard. The apple pie I ordered was extremely tasty and I was particularly impressed by the gluten-free avocado sandwich.

The first second I thought it’s nice place , we ordered 2 coffee , My mother always drink 2 shot of espresso in cappuccino, but in this place the espresso was so strong , she asked to change for cappuccino with 1 shot , and the waiter said that is not possible. This is happened first time in our experience That we were refused to change. That's why we didn't have lunch at this place. In Amsterdam, 99% are always ready to help. Not to mention that I asked for a cappuccino with thick foam and no bubbles and which I got it’s was not nice . They Have the name Barista and not have the professionnel coffee maker .

Always a pleasant experience! All the options, both sweet and savory, are great and well prepared. The place is clean, including the bathroom, which is appreciated and not always found elsewhere. We've also tried the high tea, a very cool experience and the food was amazing! It's definitely become our go-to place for brunch and afternoon snacks in Leiden!

I really enjoyed it here, there are many seating options and the interior is very pleasant. The staff is very friendly! They have many menu options, which is great. Prices are reasonable. It can become busy though, including visiting parents with children, especially in the weekends, so it might not always be the best option for a more calm chat. If you time it right, it’s a great place to be!

I always go here with the besties but this time I went alone. I literally have nothing negative to say; the food is so delicious, the service is always friendly and you can study here during the indicated time slots! The vibes are immaculate <3

Very nice cafe with a nice atmosphere, both inside and outside. There is a lot of choice on the menu. There are vegetarian options and these are also indicated on the menu together with allergens. It can be busy inside, especially because the tables and chairs are quite close together. This sometimes makes it difficult to walk or understand each other. The style, on the other hand, is cozy and unique. There is also a beautiful terrace outside, often in the shade but nice and quiet. Unfortunately, the multiple floors, together with the toilet and the terrace, are not wheelchair friendly ♿ The entrance at the front is on the ground floor, but for the rest of the restaurant you have to use the stairs. This means that only a small section is available for people with wheelchairs or other disabilities.

One of the best cortados I’ve ever had. Good standards for coffee. You can use your laptop but only on the top floor.

A fine restaurant in Leiden, there are a lot of spots outside and there are three floors inside, so even in the busy hour you will manage to enjoy your meal here. We had Benedict eggs deluxe, fresh lemonade and wrapped chicken. The food was delicious but not something outstanding.

We passed here today during the courtyard walk and decided to return after the walk to have something tasty to eat here because it was so cozy here. It is a very nice place with a quiet terrace. Seems like a nice cafe but honestly didn't enjoy what I got here that much, when I ordered the chocolate chip coffee special I did expect something sweet but honestly this was too much. There was more cream & decorations in this drink than actual coffee, it looks pretty but it's almost impossible to even drink with a huge layer of whipped cream. We also tried the cheesecake and sadly it was served with less than a teaspoon of strawberry sauce, which added balance to the pie. I do have to say the staff was very friendly and the place looked nice but sadly I didn't really like what they were serving

Delicious coffee, nice atmosphere, it doesn't seem busy because of the different floors.

The food not only looks great but tastes good too, although the pancakes are very sweet. It is a large multi-storey café with modern furnishings and a quiet courtyard with lots of plants, but outside there is only shade until 3pm.

The pitstop place of Leiden. I come here with my empty thermoflask and a need for good coffee.. The service is helpful, friendly and quick. They gave me a coconut milk based xl cappuccino to fill my flask and a scrumptious banana bread to enjoy. I highly recommend it for the freidnly service and i would hope to dine here in the future. They have a back terrace but it isn't a suntrap when I arrived around midday.. Though that gets compensated by the grwat atmosphere inside

Really cozy place to have a coffee and a study session. You are allowed to use your laptop throughout the morning. They have a great selection of coffees you can choose from and different things to eat. Kind staff and cozy and warm atmosphere inside, especially the attic!

Tijdens ons bezoek aan Leiden hebben we genoten van een smakelijke lunch. De broodjes waren precies goed van formaat en boden een goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Mijn keuze viel op de patatobun met brie, kaas en bacon, vergezeld van een witte chocola latte macchiato. Het enige punt van aandacht is dat de tafels wel erg dicht op elkaar staan, waardoor zelfs fluisteren genoeg is om je buren te verstaan. Maar ach, dat weerhoudt me er niet van om hier zeker weer terug te komen.

Nice coffee, but I really got the feeling that you had to keep drinking and eating. When we still had a full coffee, we were asked again if we wanted to order something and when we finally wanted nothing after two drinks and lunch, we were immediately asked if we wanted the bill because there were still people waiting. I won't be going here again anytime soon because you can't sit for 15 minutes without ordering something.

Returned to this cafe and once again we received a warm welcome, top service and the most delicious food. Coffee is absolutely amazing, so good I had to get a bag of beans to take back to UK with us. Thank you all at the Barista Cafe, see you again next June
