Had coffee with a piece of apple. Good coffee and nice and friendly service.

Nice and sunny terrace just behind the museum of antiquities. Delicious cappuccino with a delicious biscuit from the house. No service on the terrace. There were 2 ladies behind the counter, but only 1 of the 2 helped the customers, the other was mainly refilling biscuits or playing with the house cat, a bit strange because there were quite a lot of people waiting.

When I walked in, I was the first customer — the place was still empty. Yet my order was not remembered. The coffee we finally got was mediocre and served with cookies that tasted old. Unfortunately, all this made the experience uninviting.

One of the best places to have pieces of pie and coffee. We very much enjoyed and visited this site 3-4 times during our stay in Aug. 2024.

Cozy and relaxed place serving coffees (or tea/chocolate) with selection of sweets like apple cake, brownies. Or if you want to eat something more satiating you can order a sandwich, a savory pie or even soup or grilled cheese and many vegetarian options. I used to come here when I was a student and back in the days the choice of sandwiches seemed to be endless but what never changed are the girls (and now also boys) they were and are always super nice and enthusiastic.

Nice old café with a relaxed atmosphere inside and outside. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is the place for you. And surrounded by beautiful old streets and a church that is also worth a visit.

We only had a few drinks, so unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but it was a very nice atmosphere and the owner was super nice.

In fact, the coffee is very average, it’s impossible to drink a latte at all - just hot water, the place is beautiful, but there are many such beautiful places in Leiden. Apple pie is delicious.

This was a bit sad, we could order sandwiches but there were only 2 left, there were 4 of us... then just a loose ball of minced meat, cold... then I saw a cat running in, straight into the kitchen area. No, not again for me. Too bad, the location and business itself are beautiful.

The jailers house is fantastic. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a historic building with a gorgeous terrace and view. The second best apple tart in Leiden imho, but amazing nonetheless. There is stiff competition here on that front, but it's really good. They have hot food too but I've never tried it. Awesome cafe and it's fun trying to say the name.

I stopped here several times for a drink during my stay in Leiden, both during the day and later in the early evening. Sitting outside it's a lovely spot to have a break when sightseeing.

I AM IN LOVE!! The food is amazing, as well as the staff! The music is also top notch and the food in an other dimension! If I lived here this would definitely be a place I would visit as often as I could!

You walk out of Leiden Central into a bustling little town. You walk through a crowded plaza, and eventually find this quiet cafe. I can't say enough. The sandwich was perfect for a fueling before a bike-ride to Lisse. The coffee was great. Quaint, quiet, and friendly staff. Loved it.

Schattigste cafeetje van de stad

Leuk huiselijk gezellig ingericht en de service is altijd zo fijn. Buiten zit je heerlijk op het terras op een van de minst bekende maar leukste terrasjes in Leiden. Koffie en gebak is prima maar de porties voor de lunchgerechten (vooral de soep) zijn SCHANDALIG klein 🙂

My plan is to keep on visiting this café until I will be able to pronounce its name correctly! Oh.. yes! Also because it is so f@%& amazing!

Heerlijke cappuccino met blondie cake gehad in een laptop vrije omgeving. Gezeten op verhoging. Klein, sfeervol en gezellig. Echt voor goed contact met een ander of met jezelf. 😉

Heel leuke koffie/lunch locatie in historische omgeving met lange geschiedenis. Vriendelijke bediening. Zeer goede prijsstelling. Het bezoeken zeer zeker de moeite waard.

Prima cappuccino, lekker broodje Caprese, goeie jus d'orange. Best grappig dat ze geen menukaart buiten op de tafeltjes hebben liggen als je binnen moet bestellen maar kan soms onhandig zijn als je met meerdere mensen bent. Al met al fijn om er te zitten.👍

Superleuk plekje om wat te drinken, was mooi weer dus ook buiten gezeten , niet al te druk .

Leuke plek, terras op schilderachtig plein. Erg prijzig: 4,5 euro voor een glas wijn dat je zelf binnen moet halen? Duur, vind ik.

Een hele gezellige en knusse plek. Ze serveren heerlijke broodjes tussen 11:00 en 15:00. Daarnaast serveren ze zowel heerlijke Illy als biologische koffie. Het koffiehuisje is rustig gelegen en bevindt zich op het Gerecht. Voor de vroege vogels onder ons, ze zijn op werkdagen al open om 08:30! Let op: Je kunt hier alleen contant betalen!

Goede Illy koffie in een koffiehoek op de hoek van het Gerecht en de Papengracht vlak achter het RMO. Oude eiken kerkbanken, met eiken lambrisering, afgewisseld met hindeloopen-groen. Sfeervol donker koffiehuis. Op zondagmiddag niet druk. Prompte bediening. Men gelieve cash af te rekenen.

Esta fue la cafetería más encantadora y acogedora que encontramos en Leiden. En realidad, en Holanda! El servicio fue deliciosamente amable y servicial (estábamos buscando un lugar y obtuvimos instrucciones y más), el café excelente, la tarta de manzana la mejor que probamos en cualquier lugar (no demasiado dulce, mucha canela, corteza encantadora, grandes trozos de manzana), y El ambiente encantador. Parecía un verdadero café de barrio, pero está a tiro de piedra de Hortus Botanicus y de la calle Peter's Church. Estoy seguro de que está mucho más ocupado en pleno verano, pero en octubre fue tranquilo y encantador. No comimos en el sándwich de al lado (pero parte del mismo edificio), pero no tengo ninguna razón para creer que sería otra cosa que excelente, ya que está dirigido por la misma gente. Y la zona de descanso al aire libre en una tranquila plaza peatonal y de bicicletas parecía muy acogedora, aunque un poco fría en la última semana de octubre. Con todo, un lugar destacado de nuestra visita a la encantadora Leiden, el contrapunto perfecto para el ajetreo de Amsterdam.

Ze hebben hier goede koffie en lekkere koek. Dit alles op een leuke plek in de oude stad. Op de vraag waarom er geen pin-betaling mogelijk is werd geen antwoord gegeven.
