Excellent experience for coffee lovers. They take their coffee seriously, and it shows. The menu offers a lot of options to discover. I will be visiting this place often, and try the wide menu of this true coffee-laboratory.

Before coming to Leiden, I saw it among the recommended cafes. The employees are friendly, the coffee is delicious, it would be great if the dessert section could be improved a little more. It is very enjoyable to sit in this cafe a few streets away, especially after getting tired at the market held on Saturdays.

The tastiest (specialty) coffee in Leiden with delicious homemade cakes. Tip: the cheesecake and the apple crumble! In addition, the owners are very sweet and hospitable and the atmosphere is very good. Recommended!!

Good coffee for very good price

I'll start by saying that it is a very nice place with very friendly staff and good coffee! We walked in on a rainy afternoon and it was extremely busy. The place is also designed in such a way that it is very narrow and almost all the space has been transformed into a functional seating area, which means that you really sit next to each other, which is the only thing I would like to mention as a disadvantage. I ordered an iced lattee with caramel and a cheesecake with two apple flavored waters. We lost a total of 12 euros. The iced lattee had a really nice, soft and creamy taste. The cheesecake was approved by the children.

Very dangerous, the tastiest chocolate milk in the world. Not chummy but really YUM!

As a former Amsterdam resident with a high bar set by coffee havens like Lot61 and Five Ways, I was pleasantly surprised to find Chummy Coffee in Leiden. This place serves up a cappuccino that rivals the best I've had anywhere. The rich, velvety texture and perfect balance of espresso and milk make it a must-try for any coffee enthusiast. Chummy Coffee is a true gem, and their cappuccino is hands down the best in town.

Got a cappuccino to go. Friendly welcome and Cappuccino is personally delivered. Nice foam layer but not very firm. Coffee a bit too weak, which together with the not so firm milk foam makes it a coffee with warm milk, could be better.

How nice it is here at Chummy! Starting with the incredibly sweet owners who make you feel so welcome and radiate total hospitality and relaxation. Location is pleasant and atmospheric, coffee, tea and chai latte were perfect, as were the carrot cake and almond coconut cake. Here you can just walk out the door relaxed. The perfect place to spend with company or for a moment for yourself.

Barista knows how to make cappuccino and is fast too. Service with a smile and silently. These people know what catering is. Very refreshing among many cases with inexperienced students in the ministry. For me, THE coffee place in Leiden. Compliments.

Sweet staff and a nice spot in the Breestraat with plenty of room to sit outside. Pastries were fresh and the drinks were good. The Godzilla hot chocolate sounded interesting, with honey and chili, so I'll have that next time

There are a few seats inside and outside or you can take your coffee to go. This coffee shop is located right in the middle of the centre and from here is a nice starting point for you to discover the old town of Leiden.

One of the best coffee places I’ve been to in Netherlands. Nice location, friendly stuff (very nice and kind actually, and they are always open for a small talk or even some questions about coffee beans etc). You’ll get really nice beverage here that’ll definitely suit your taste. I’m into black coffee, and espresso and filter coffee here tastes amazing. I’d gladly come here again and again :)

There's a new kid in town! This is the kind of coffee shop you wish you could come up with yourself. Even the prices are ok, and that at this A1 location.... The company emerged from the descendants of the much too expensive 'Voor Af en Toe' just down the road (coffee costs 3.70 there....) I wish I wish these passionate, lovely people here the very best! ;);) May they continue to exist for a long time!

I have been a loyal guest of this charming coffee shop on the Bree since 2020. The best coffee in Leiden, a nice atmosphere and always two lovely owners who are hard at work. Jeroen and Eliza are people with a big heart for the business, the guests and good coffee. You can taste this! Fair price-quality ratio with coffee from various roasters from different countries. Chummies is the perfect coffee shop; warm lovely people and delicious cakes. What's nice is that it is laptop free so you don't have to look at a wall of laptops, but have a genuine chat with your neighbor. The coffee is super delicious and you are always helped with a smile!

They have nitro coffee here during the spring/summer season which is really nice. I didn't enjoy their cakes, because the cakes tasted not fresh. Staff is super friendly and service is fast. Okay atmosphere, nothing too fancy. Seating area is limited.

I really liked this caffe bar. Located in a small alley where you sit so you really get that special feeling. They serve coffee and various forms of juices, refreshing spring drinks. They don't serve alcohol. Today we had the opportunity to visit them and the biggest praise to the two girls who worked as waitresses. Extremely friendly, nice and kind with a smile on their face. Recommendation to visit the place if you have the chance.

The service was exceptionally courteous and had the ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. I purchased a latte for myself, and it was excellent with a delightful Ethiopian origin. My overall experience at this establishment was quite positive. The ambiance was welcoming and relaxing.

The best café in Leiden if you're looking for specialty coffees! The owner is very knowledgeable and skilled and always has a supply of interesting coffees from different origins and roasters for sale. The espresso and filter coffees change daily and the homemade cheesecake is a must-try.

It was the worst filter coffee I have ever had in my life. I was excited to have filter coffee bc it is not that popular in the NL. I understood why. It was so watery I could barely taste coffee, probably also not fresh. It is a cute place, though. You can't go with your laptop. Service was okay.

The definite best specialty coffee shop in Leiden! They care about the coffee they serve. The beans are single origins filter or espresso and they have new beans every week. The milk coffees are a blend of beans. Usually the roaster is cafenation, but they have various guest roasters sometimes. All coffees are light roasts and they are well brewed. Besides good black coffee there is a variety of sweet coffee with various toppings. They also serve a variety of sweet pastries which are as good as the coffee. The cheesecake is to die for. They also sell bags of whole beans and some coffee equipment. The people who own the shop are incredibly kind and always up for a chat if time allows.
