We had a delicious, refined breakfast at Bas Bakt in Rotterdam. The tea was delicious, and it was fun to watch them bake everything fresh behind the counter. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommended!

Had breakfast here instead of at the hotel. Delicious fresh produce and plenty of choice. Good coffee and a nice spot to sit.

At Bakt I had my best kimchi toastie ever with dip sauce. Still think about it and it's longer than a year ago. The Stuff is reall friendly. It's a fun concept that everyone is at the same table. Was a bit noisy but beside that everything amazing 😻! If I will be back in Rotterdam one day I grab a kimchi toastie again.

I’ve been coming here for years—always super tasty and fresh. I liked the sourdough bread last time, but my personal favorite is the cheese croissant—it’s both crispy and delicious. Coffee is always good, and I like the muffins too. We had open toasties last time, and they kept us full all day. Definitely worth a visit. Love this place!

The staff is very friendly, the place is cozy and the food/coffee is super tasty.

Tried their grilled sausage and pastrami sandwiches, both were simple but packed with so much flavour. The flat whites were strong and excellent. We ended with a pistachio croissant, which was just okay. The atmosphere was lovely, and we’ll definitely be back for the coffee and sandwiches!

On the recommendation of a friend, I had coffee and croissants there. There were four staff members present, mainly focused on selling bread. So, you have to be patient :-) The constant (every few seconds) loud warning beeps from the ovens were truly annoying. Even with earplugs (which I happened to have with me), the loud beeps were unbearable.

A gem, the place has the feel of a laboratory, with very high ceilings and a very welcoming open space. I must say that even though I'm Italian, I found their coffee delicious. The desserts and drinks are also top-notch. The very friendly staff made us feel like we were in the perfect place for a contemplative break. We'll definitely be back.

It’s a very cute bakery with nice baked goods. Favorites: cinnamon rolls, sausage broodje, and bread.

I order on site, they give me takeaway. Served in a takeaway cup because there are no more dishes available... a shame because the setting is nice, the coffee is good and the cinnamon roll very pleasant

I stumbled upon this place by chance, as I was in Rotterdam and looking for a tasty breakfast. I was struck by the wide selection of fresh drinks, the delicious coffee, and the fresh rolls, sandwiches, and pastries. The grilled sausage and cheese sandwiches are highly recommended 😋.

The almond croissant is the best I have ever had! Not too sweet and a balanced almond flavor. The croissant still crusty on the outside and fluffy on in the inside. We also bought a whole bread which was good as well.

Their pastries are tasty, but hygiene should improve. In a summery day, there were so many flies flying, landing on their fresh goods, but they didn’t care at all. I decided not to visit anymore.

A fantastic place for a delicious breakfast in Rotterdam. Sweet or savory. Not just for breakfast, of course. And also for takeaway. Oh, and the coffee is great, too.

On our first day, we took a cappuccino and a croissant. The coffee was extremely delicious and beautifully presented. The croissant could best be described as "Wow, the forest fairy!" It was incredibly delicious and could compete with any French boulangerie. I was looking forward to our next visit for two days afterward.

It's a good place as a bakery, the quality was good, but as a cafe the inside of the cafe itself gives more vibes like a school cafe, a little too exposed, like milk cartons were laying by the wall behind the table, and I had to remind them to bring me my pastry, they forgot even when it was ready on a plate on their desk, and wasn't that crowded.

I usually really like the coffee and food here. Atmosphere is good, but make sure to order drinks once the barista has arrived otherwise you might get a very mediocre cup of coffee...

The egg tart was the best, the others were also good, but a little too sweet for our taste.

Ordered a flat white and a granola bowl. The milk was very poorly steamed. For €4 it was not worth it and I will not be returning for another coffee. Constructive tip for the barista. The wand hand been on the surface of the milk. So the milk was very bubbly and not smooth/creamy. Submerge the tip of the wand say an inch into the milk. Make sure the milk is COLD. And practice getting the milk to swirl.

Nice place, food maybe a bit expensive but tasty

A truly lovely start to the day! The people at the café were super friendly, and you immediately felt at home. Ordering and paying are done at the counter – uncomplicated and quick. Then you can simply choose a seat and have your food brought to your table. The service was prompt and attentive. The avocado bread with kimchi and sesame sauce was a real highlight – especially the bread itself, which might even be homemade? Absolutely delicious! The chai latte and coffee latte were also impressive – beautifully creamy and aromatic. The absolute highlight at the end: the pistachio croissant – crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, simply delicious! The decor is minimalist and modern, but very harmonious. You sit comfortably at large tables with a view out the window – perfect for people-watching while enjoying a relaxed breakfast. The only minor drawback: the salt shaker was empty – but that's easily remedied if you check it regularly. Overall, a very enjoyable café visit with delicious food, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

Away from the big crowds of tourists, a pleasant and authentic breakfast alternative in a rustic atmosphere. The high-quality offering is manageable, but very tasty! Less is often more. :-)

Amazing bakery with great coffee!

Pastrami sandwich EUR 7.15. It's bizarre that you only pay 7.15 for 1 slice of thinly filled bread. It was ok but look how thinly spread this was. Very disappointed when my wife came with this sandwich. Pistachio croissant didn't really taste like pistachio unfortunately. They were a lot tastier in Venice.

I came in on a Friday morning and ordered an iced decaf with soy milk, only to find out they sell neither decaf nor soy milk. I then tried their well-advertised “barista cacao blend,” which tasted terrible. It felt like I was drinking chemicals - maybe because of the not-so-popular oat milk? Drinking it made me sick; I suppose it had been sitting out for too long. How ironic that I even had to pay extra for the oat milk that made me sick. I ordered my drink to go. Despite their huge “coffee to go” banner, they didn’t have straws in stock. How can a coffee place not have decaf or straws? The staff could use a smile or two. The store looks nice, though. You can see the staff preparing pastries in the back. The “Crash” pastry was good.

The desserts are undoubtedly good, the espresso as in all of Rotterdam does not have the same flavor as our coffees, the place is more for take away because it is difficult to find a place to sit

Our regular spot. Delicious coffee. Good lunches. Nice people. Sweet dog :-) and lots of tasty treats. Also many vegetarian options in addition to meat dishes. The seating is also very nice and the sweets they serve are also very tasty. RECOMMENDED!

Bei Bas Bakt liegt der Fokus auf dem Handwerk. Stolz ist man auf das Sauerteigbrot aber auch auf Gluten, Zucker & Butter; gefällt mir. Der Kaffee wird aus zwei unterschiedlichen Bohnen gebraut (äthiopische & ruandische). Ob Morning Bun (Croissant mit Zimt & Orangenschale) für den guten Start in den Tag oder Kersencruffin (ein Mix aus Croissant & Muffin mit Kirschfüllung), es gibt einiges zu entdecken. Vom Handwerk & Geschmack habe ich selten besser gegessen. Die Note von Orange in den Morning Buns oder die Buttrigkeit der Croissant. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen. Empfehlung: Morning Bun, Kaas Boterhammen, Croissant

On the way from the parking garage to the eye hospital we always have breakfast here, nice and tasty We do this every year after a long drive from Enschede and so today. See you next year.

Ik ben al lange tijd een vaste klant bij Bas Bakt en woon slechts een blok verderop. Het is jammer om te moeten zeggen dat mijn laatste ervaringen erg teleurstellend waren. Het personeel was onvriendelijk en leek totaal niet geïnteresseerd in het bieden van goede service. Ik voelde me genegeerd en mijn vragen werden op een ongeïnteresseerde manier beantwoord. Als buurtbewoner en trouwe klant is dit extra teleurstellend, omdat ik graag lokaal steun en tot nu toe altijd goede ervaringen had. Hopelijk wordt er snel aandacht besteed aan de klantvriendelijkheid en service, zodat Bas Bakt weer de gezellige plek wordt waar ik graag kom.

Chai latte was delicious! Croissant was a bit disappointing stiff and oily.

Grabbed a quick lunch here on the way to the eye hospital. It was ideal for us, being right next to the parking garage. Lunch was really delicious! Also bought real gingerbread nuts, very nice to be able to let my son taste them.

Visited this morning and took bread and enjoyed coffee. We even requested a peanut butter bread spread to go and they were able to give; so delicious.

We came to this wonderful coffee shop for breakfast and were absolutely delighted! We ordered three dishes - each of them was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The coffee is simply great! The service is great and the people who work there are truly wonderful. A pleasant bonus was the opportunity to buy original gifts. We will definitely come back again!

Geweldig!! Lief personeel. Gastvrij. Goede koffie en uitmuntende lunches en taart en koeken. Wij gaan regelmatig en nemen dan brood en lekkers mee voor thuis. Een van ons lievelingsplekken. Zeker de moeite om speciaal naar toe te rijden. Erg gezellig binnen en buiten. Lieve hond is er ook vaak. Wij zijn echt fan!

Nice place with exceptionally friendly staff. The cappuccino was good, the croissant was tasty and the prices were okay. Overall the experience was really good but the atmosphere infront of the shop wasn't the best (ugly buildings in the surrounding area) and inside of the shop it was very hot.

The coffee tastes very good. It’s one of those coffees that just „hits right“. Also the ambiente was cozy and inviting. It just felt very homey. But the Highlight was the Cinnamon Bun. They were unbelievably light and tasted amazing. I was just passing trough Rotterdam, but I will be back just to have one of these incredible cinnamon buns again. ❤️

Visited from Japan while staying in Rotterdam. I mainly cooked for myself, but I was particular about bread, so I decided to walk here for 24 minutes. A large bread that is hard but soft on the inside is the best and can be the main ingredient in home-cooked meals. Eat-in is also available first thing in the morning. The avocado and ham sandwiches were also delicious.

Quite a find, a bit on the other side of the Blaak, a bakery where you can also get coffee and something tasty. Not super large, but very cozy and of high quality

Sometimes you read reviews of great experiences at places but you forget that maybe they’re great experiences for white people and pretty much only other white people. I got my period at work and felt awful, and craved an almond croissant. After some searching I found great reviews for Bas Bakt and took the rest of the day off to just have something warm at the cafe before heading home. I walked 20 mins and got here and asked the barista if I should order at the counter or at a table, and he told me he’d be with me in a just a moment at the table. I went to the table and sat and waited for 15 mins at a not very busy time and he passed me by like 5 times, as did other servers. Eventually I got up and went to the counter to ask what’s up, and he said oh he’d meant he’d be with me in a just a bit… at the counter, not the table. In good spirit, I said oh sure, no problem, and gave my order and paid. Even though he knew the whole time I was waiting for him and could have just told me he misspoke it I misunderstood. After placing my order, I waited for over 40 mins for the one almond croissant I’d ordered. I was so confused, wondering if the bread was being made from scratch or sth. I tried to catch the eye of every server, but they all ignored me and kept talking to other customers casually like maybe there were many regulars around. Eventually I went to the counter again to ask what’s going on with my croissant, which is when the same barista realized he’d forgotten to give it to me. While I waited, I realized that for over an hour, many people came in to the cafe and had a good time ordering take aways and chatting with the staff too. Only one other person of color entered tho, and I saw them wait at the counter - not receiving any attention - and they left. I wonder if this was the issue all along, and while waiting, I started to notice exactly how white the space was. These spaces seem progressive (no WiFi, cozy setting, visibly lgbtq friendly), but they’re not. I just felt so dehumanized by the whole experience. To the barista’s credit, he offered me a free drink when he realized I was no longer being “oh, no worries” polite with him when I realized there was no delay with baking etc - he and the other barista next to him who’d helped take my order had both just forgot about me. I didn’t take the free drink. I should have, but I just wanted to leave immediately and never come back. I genuinely felt dehumanized by the entire experience. So in summary, this is a great place for white liberals. Enjoy the coffee. Everyone else, maybe head somewhere else. Nothing is worth this type of experience.

Sometimes, you end up in a nice place by chance. So do we at 'Bas Bakt'. Opposite a parking lot, right next to the center. Enjoy a nice sandwich with a hot drink. Ideal. It's possible here! And VERY tasty. We had a pistachio croissant and an avocado sandwich. Also a Chai and Cappucino. All great! Maybe overlooked, but I missed a high chair. Since we need these, I pay extra attention to this. For the convenience. Recommended!!

In Rotterdam for just a few hours, we came across Bas Bakt by chance. Lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We're vegan, so we were pleased to see they had oat milk (and soya & almond) and vegan pastries!

Perhaps the tastiest croissants in Rotterdam? Whether this is true or not, I definitely recommend you give it a try! Bas Bakt also has delicious breads, tasty lunches and lemonade. Nice to sit or to pick up something.

A nice atmosphere. As if you have ended up at the long kitchen table of a large Italian family, with people of many different nationalities who all enjoy cappuccino, peace and quiet and the wonderful smells of freshly baked cake and bread. No one is bothered by the hustle and bustle of a line of people walking past their backs to buy a loaf of bread. Logical, right? It's a good bakery!

One of the better micro bakeries in Rotterdam. The desembread is always really good as well as the (cheese) croissants. Must try if looking for good bread for any occasion

This place is probably the most underrated bakery in Rotterdam. I love their croissants, which are hands down the best in town (full of depth and baked to perfection). Super consistent high quality of all the products they provide, and it is all very reasonably priced.

Pistachio crossaint is my favourite and the coffee with vegan milk is also great. Very friendly service !

A great place to grab a coffee and some pastries. They have tons of options, but don’t miss out on the almond croissant or the pistache one. The cappuccino is done well. For a bigger bite, I’d suggest looking into their sandwiches cause they’re amazing as well. In the summer there are options to sit outside, but keep in mind it can be a busier spot during peak times.
