Bascafé in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

I shot some footage here recently. Great place, lovely people.

The security was fairly homophobic and there are cameras in the men's toilet. This tent is not entirely kosher

It turned out beautiful after the renovation. Best place to go out on the weekend for 21+!

It was a very pleasant evening!

The best evenings, the best atmosphere and the most enthusiastic staff can be found here at Bascafé. An indispensable part of the city of Nijmegen!

The security during the four-day parties is heavy-handed and had no reason to kick me out. Their argument for kicking me out after I had been outside and paid to get in was. "Because I say so". I don't think you can treat people like that and I just wanted to go in after I had paid and not have to queue with the other people who had not paid. Because I already paid for my spot in the cafe. I think this is very poorly argued and I advise people not to go here because they treat the people who have already paid. Edit: after I took a picture of the cafe I was attacked by the security of the cafe because she pushed me while I asked the security guard who knew nothing about the situation not to push me. While I was perfectly capable of an argument. Security gives up after losing the argument and then pushes you away. I tried to take a photo of the cafe later. And security came after me asking why I had taken a photo. I said I was a Google reviewer and he said "do you like that?" which of course I found very childish and unnecessary. He said he was going to sue because I took a picture of the outside of the cafe because they were doing security there. The way I was treated by the security of the café is customer unfriendly.

A fun evening out! Arrive at Bascafé, the security guard lets all my friends inside. He checks my ID (I'm 18+) and doesn't believe it. Then he asks for my bank details???? Too bad for him that I was sober. That guy is completely insane. Don't fall for it people!

Very nice cafe! We used to always go out here. Last week, after a great competition on Instagram, I had a very nice beer tasting at Bascafe. That is also definitely recommended. Very nice atmosphere and always fun!

Was a nice cafe around 2018, nowadays a hostile doorman with a loud voice at the door.

Bas is and remains a legendary place in Nijmegen. We have come to the conclusion that we have gotten a bit older. #fossilbetweenthestudents

Most annoying café in Nijmegen. The noise pollution is bizarre, as if you were having a tent party in your living room.

As a non-Dutch speaking international, I suffered discrimination while on the queue to get into the club. I find this disgraceful and my experience re-emphasizes how systemic discrimination and racism exist in the Netherlands no matter how they try to paint it different. I won't recommend for internationals....The Dutch society needs serious change!!!

The atmosphere of Bascafe is very good, provided you are given space to stand and enjoy the atmosphere. It has happened several times that there were too many fraternities and/or societies present, causing a simple visit to the toilet to take fifteen minutes. In short: it is a nice place, provided it is quiet and you bring nice people.

Back again after 20 years, it remains nice and cozy, although I am 20 years older...

Although Bascafé is a nice place, it can sometimes be annoying when they let a lot of people in. (but still you come there again and again.)

I think it's an entertaining café, but damn, it's so busy sometimes!! That's definitely not okay. Furthermore, the staff is sweet. Do miss the peanuts. The good ol days

A cozy place where they have some fun events.

The staff was pleasant and did their job well. The only thing was that there were peanut shells everywhere and it felt quite dirty (on a Sunday) because there were also loose peanuts in a container and someone threw them at my girlfriend. Nice music and staff, but the only letdown are those peanuts

I've been coming here for 22 years. Very cozy and contemporary. Saturdays with DJ. And peanut shells, the skins of which you can throw on the ground. Just Dutch fun. Recommended.

Had a great evening. Until I wanted to bring friends in, with a fur collar coat and dark skin, who were turned away. The bouncer, though friendly, couldn't give me a good reason. Shame.

Expensive prices for a student pub. And always super busy, but of course they can't do anything about that. Very pleasant.

Very nice place to have a happy hour. Nice atmosphere, good people. The atendentes are always friendly and helpful. They also have the TV for watching matches. They serve peanuts for free, and bitter balls, which are very tasty. Good price for beers. Next to the city centre of nijmegen.

Very busy café with many students, one of the nicest. And no entrance fee, which is of course a nice feature for students! I personally don't like the beer at bascafe.

Popular and busy student café. Very busy on Fridays and Saturdays, so there is almost always a queue. During the week it is pleasantly busy and there is a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is friendly and will even bring you drinks when it is quiet.

Bar / dancing that kept it's own style over the past decade. You wil hear an occasional Dutch song as well here.

Very friendly staff at 2 bars, which means little waiting time, free peanuts (!), average music and free entrance! :D At night it is often too busy to really dance, although there is enough space to try, and smoking is allowed inside from 4:30 am, which unfortunately makes it very asthma unfriendly. :(

Always come here because this is the favorite pub of my study association. There is often a pleasant atmosphere and the prices are normal. Minus point: it is relatively small inside.

Stamcafe, what else can I say than "great fun" The shot of Koekie is recommended, very tasty!
