After I reported an assault in the city center of Nijmegen, during which I had to identify a perpetrator located inside Café De Kroeg, this was not well received by the staff of Café De Kroeg! They denied that there was an argument or a fight, even though the assault was festering on their own terrace as well! Fortunately, they stand up for perpetrators of senseless violence! Hats off to them! 🥂🍾🎊 I saw a girl assaulting her boyfriend with high kicks to the face and hard, audible punches in the Broerstraat in Nijmegen. I spoke out against the perpetrator and followed the arguing couple for a moment, after which I solemnly informed the officials about the assault. Immediately after the police investigation was concluded, I was asked to leave the terrace in a very unfriendly manner, even though I was sitting there solely to identify an assault perpetrator. I had only been sitting there for a few minutes, and I did not intend to stay long. The staff at Café De Kroeg do not hesitate to issue a denial if you deliver at least five high kicks and hard punches to your partner in the city center; for them, a ridiculous line of reasoning is sufficient to justify assaulting a drunken young man!

I was stopping there every 8-9days since 2 years. Owner and place is fantastic. You can play darts and enjoy good music. Very nice place.

Great little pub just away from the main drag in Nijmegen. Theo and Edith provide a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. A short walk down to the river or, alternatively, a short walk up from the river! Open Wednesday-Sunday. The chip shop opposite does beautiful mayo and chips by the way.

Nice place to enjoy some beers. There is also food served (snacks). Next to the Waal river and the city center of Nijmegen. During the evening can be crowded, because it is around many other bars. Recommended.
