Good beer, lots of choices, top service

Great cafe with old-fashioned music for everyone. Excellent service.

I ordered a Duvel and received it along with a regular beer glass. When I asked for a Duvel glass, the answer was, "We're out of them." So, if you order a cup of coffee, it's normal to get it in a tea glass. If you don't have the correct glasses, you shouldn't sell the product or say so beforehand. Furthermore, the glass was very dull, probably from the dishwasher. One star is still too much.

Last Saturday party for 60 people. Owner thinks along. Nice disco lights in the room at the back. The sound system was allowed to be on max. Delicious Amstel beer and snacks came from Corry, the snack bar in Nijmegen East.

When you order a falafel kapsalon at snack bar Corry, you can eat it at 't Haantje, without anyone crowing about it. Make sure you leave your leg hair alone. Due to the distance between the patio table and the benches, there is a good chance that the julienne cut iceberg lettuce from your aluminum container will end up between the ball and the shin. With sufficiently hairy calves you increase the chance that the lettuce will get stuck in there, instead of ending up on the sidewalk. 5/5 stars

**TRAVELLER REVIEW** 🎒 The waiter was nice to me from the moment I spotted this place waking by. Looked what I wanted ,old fashioned, bit honky tonky inside cosy pub feel. I can say though as a visitor to the country I didn't feel so welcomed but of course as I do I chatted with a couple of people. But this is not a place at all for visitors to come in and find friends. I would leave that to an Irish pub. When asked for a bit less head on my beer that fell below the line of the glass anyway I was refused and it was still over €5 for that a half pint. Got a full pint of German beer after for €6 so evidently I chose the 'sippy' one. Please sir (owner) if you are reading this...I urge you to make sure some r honky tonk music, old fashioned Dutch music or some soft rock/blues is played here instead of pop music. Even though I'm not coming back for a while, the locals may not care about the music and the owner isn't super friendly. I would come again for one of the events. I will remember this place but I was left only comfortable with my one visit. Thank you to the happy young bartender. Happy guy good guy and let me eat the Kurry frittes

Koude kroeg, te zeikerig om verwarming aan te dien, met oude uitbater. Jammer goede ligging maar wordt tijd voor jonge frisse uitbater.

Oldest brown café in Nijmegen... The living room of East. Always pleasant and friendly. Sympathetic owners, with an eye for the customers. Often take the time to have a chat... A Café as it goes... Great!

Dit is niet zomaar een café (met 2 biljarts). Nee café ‘t Haantje aan de Daalseweg ademt historie en heeft door de jaren heen de kwaliteiten behouden die een bruin café moet hebben: gezelligheid, vriendelijkheid en altijd actueel qua bieren. ‘Als je maar lang genoeg gewoon blijft, word je vanzelf bijzonder’ lijkt het motto van dit familiebedrijf. Dit komt niet op de laatste plaats door barman Jopie Puijn. Café ‘t Haantje heeft in coronatijd een opknapbeurt gehad en kan er weer jaren tegen. Mijn omfietscafe 2022.

Nice cozy old-fashioned cafe. You can sit outside and there is plenty of room inside. You can watch football on a big screen and play pool. Only the staff is quite noisy and that is not necessary. You don't get a receipt for what you drank and the owner pays too much attention to you and that is not necessary.

A nice café with good spaces to welcome a large group. Drinking with large groups: good beers and good service. We also held a meeting there with more than 30 people. There are pool tables and a foosball table for extra entertainment! Recommended!

If I have to tell you how 't Haantje is, you probably won't appreciate it.

Great terrace to sit on before or after a walk in the Haanwijk or along the banks of De Dommel. They serve a lot of goodies. Such as ice cream, lemon cheesecake and coffee, tea and beer. 't Haantje closes at 5 p.m. and is not open in rainy weather

Het Haantje is a traditional brown café. The bartender has been working here since 1957! In the past, people mainly drank half liters of Amstel. Now there is more to get. There is now even a terrace and a film is being made. An old café that keeps up with the times.

Good ending for a drink after the 4-day Nijmegen walk

A room had been rented and a party was organized there. Everything was fine! Nice and friendly staff, good music, good drinks. Bitter garnish from Cafeteria Corry (the neighbors) also fine. The rooster certainly did not disappoint

A household name in Nijmegen. Which student has not been there yet, which billiard player does not know this icon among the cafes in Nijmegen. Wonderfully traditional. The football matches during the Oranje World Cup in 't Haantje are legendary. Numerous other activities are also organised. The top 2000 in January and the tribute in February. Dutch speakers get their money's worth in "Troost van Oost". The rooms can also be rented for parties and celebrations. Every year between Christmas and New Year's Eve we reserve the back part to play billiards and darts with a large group of men, for 25 years, while enjoying a beer. And we never want to miss that!
