We were here again for lunch today and the food was excellent. Beef taquitos, BBQ chicharron, spicy creamy scallops – everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! 😁 A really good wine list. The service was very attentive and incredibly friendly. Highly recommended.

Every dish my husband and I ordered was delicious. The mussels were especially tasty, and we ate three plates of them! The staff were all friendly and nice. They were working very hard. It's wonderful to see such hardworking people!!

Highly recommended! The food at BASTA is delicious, the service is friendly and fast, and the terrace offers comfort and a good view. We especially enjoyed the sushi. In short, it is well worth a solid 5 stars!

We dined with 8 people. Beautiful location/view, welcoming and polite service, delicious food in the form of tapas/sushi. The downside was the price-to-quantity ratio. In particular, the portions of the meat dishes were far too meager considering the price.

Our visit to restaurant Basta in Marina Stellendam was, unfortunately, a major disappointment. Right from the service, the impression arose that the staff is uncoordinated and partially overloaded when there is a larger influx of guests. Mistakes can happen, of course – but how they are handled is decisive. Even though the restaurant operates a ‘shared dining’ concept, in our opinion, one should expect the ordered main courses for a table to be served simultaneously. After all, you want to eat together as a family, not one after the other. At all the tables around us, this also seemed to proceed without a hitch. Only at our table was my Peking duck simply forgotten. Instead of openly admitting the mistake and briefly apologizing for it – which would likely have settled the matter for us – another employee was sent who explained to us that it was perfectly normal for other guests at the table to have already finished their meal while one dish was still missing. We found this statement difficult to understand. It should actually be self-evident that guests dining out together have their main courses served at the same time. Therefore, not only the mistake itself was particularly disappointing, but especially the way it was handled. A sincere apology and some self-criticism would have significantly softened the situation. As a result, the impression unfortunately remains of a restaurant that is reaching its organizational limits and prefers to downplay justified criticism rather than take responsibility!!!

We had to wait a very long time for our food and drinks with 5 people (the indoor restaurant area was empty and the outdoor terrace was not full). Unfortunately, the "shared dining" concept was not applied, as the dishes were not served together (for example, the green beans were only brought after 50 minutes). The food, which should have been hot, was lukewarm. The service was unfriendly and lacked insight – we had to ask for a drink ourselves. All in all, we did not have a pleasant or tasty evening. Not recommended!

We had a nice meal, but it took almost an hour before we received our food during lunch, even though the terrace was not even half full.

We didn't expect such a fine restaurant in an industrial harbor area. Great dishes and excellent service. Those shrimp croquettes, Stellendam, you know, delicious.

A very good place with a big problem. I have been here 3 times over the course of a year. There is something for everyone in terms of food, and the quality is excellent. However, the biggest problem with this establishment is the service. For the price you pay here (approximately 350 for 4 people), you would almost expect them to put your glass to your mouth right in front of you. However, there is a chronic staff shortage; every weekend it is fully booked, yet there are only 1.5 employees on a gigantic outdoor terrace. Due to the crowds, they forget half of the order, and you end up waiting an extremely long time before someone asks if you want anything. Also, if you have a question, you have to ask it 10 times before it happens (such as cleaning the table, or coming to report that a dish you ordered is sold out > and before that, when paying, you also have to remind them to remove that dish from the bill). But the staff can do little about this. They hardly have to sprint all evening with so few people on staff, and yet they remain friendly, so that is great! I read that I am not the only one with this opinion, so I advise the owner to take this problem seriously.

Food was top-notch. Service was good. 1. Minus pint: just iron your blouse when you go to work. Especially in a restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. Location is great.

We were there with 10 deaf people and all wanted to eat, but the service was clearly overwhelmed. After we ordered drinks, they came back to take our food orders, which were then delivered individually! The baguette we ordered arrived after 45 minutes and went straight in the bin. Our complaint was ignored. The next table arrived later, ate together, and finished earlier. It's a shame that people with severe disabilities are treated this way; the Dutch usually do it better. This was the last time we'll be there.

Had a fantastic afternoon with family and friends. 30+ people. Everything ran smoothly. Food fantastic. The service staff did their utmost. Highly recommended. Thank you ladies and gentlemen, including the kitchen team.

We ordered several dishes. The dessert arrived first, then we waited almost an hour – the rest of our order never came. We were told twice that it would be ready, while the tables next to us, which arrived after us, continued to receive their food. After waiting endlessly, we left. There was only a brief "sorry" – nothing more. Very disappointing. The food would certainly have been delicious, but the staff seemed completely disorganized.

Unfortunately, we couldn't comment on the food because we were only served at the beginning and didn't receive our order despite waiting for about an hour. However, we can comment on the poor service. Therefore, we won't be returning.

Very mediocre food. I also told the wait staff that the food was not to my liking, but the response was simply: "Too bad for you." Soggy, greasy fries. Pork belly that I think had been sitting in a warming tray for a few hours. Chicken roll that tasted like rubber. Absolutely not recommended.

We came to celebrate a birthday; we indicated our reservation but nothing was done with it. The service was rushed and uninvolved; for this price, the staff should at least notice that you are there. We had to ask to order drinks or food; I think it should be the other way around. The food was fine but not fantastic; the first sushi was very cold, as if it had just come out of the fridge. The rest was okay, but the price/quality/portions were not in proportion.

We ate here with a group. We arrived on spec, and the staff made room for us. The "shared dining" concept is a great idea. We all chose a dish and were able to eat a bit of everything.

The location is beautiful. However, the food was unfortunately very disappointing. Small portions, cold, and it took a long time to be served. We were told beforehand (after ordering) that the sushi would take longer than usual. That's understandable, of course, but other dishes also took a long time or were forgotten. In short, the price was too high for small portions that were also cold. Some dishes were also very disappointing in terms of taste. It's a shame we expected more. The staff is friendly.

A wonderfully pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant for this time of year. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the atmosphere we came for. After 40 minutes, we were back outside. I think that speaks volumes. We repeatedly expressed our dissatisfaction, but nothing concrete was done about it. That's it! That's it for us.

This isn't just dining out; it's a night out! The food, the atmosphere, and, of course, the attentive service make for a fantastic evening. The service never faltered, and it wasn't intrusive. This is exactly what you want to experience as a guest. We chose to be surprised by the dishes, and we were thrilled. A well-deserved 5 stars, and that's it!

Nice concept, but the food is subpar. The sushi sauce completely wiped out the salmon and tuna. The bao bun was dry with very little chicken. The bao was so dry and overcooked that we returned it. It wasn't quite right at all. If we were to give it a rating, it would be a 6.5. We wouldn't go back.

Unfortunately, we can't rate the food, as we weren't served. On the large terrace, only two tables were occupied in the beautiful sunshine. One table hadn't been cleared. So we waited 10 minutes for service. There was no one to be seen. On our way out, we saw three employees having a pleasant conversation. So it wasn't due to a lack of staff...

Absolutely perfect, everything is hand made, also the deserts. The service is very kind and friendly. We were There for the third time, and it will be not the last time.

The food was delicious. However, the price-quality ratio has recently started to spiral out of control, to the detriment of the price. Shared dining, with ever-increasing prices for relatively small portions, is unknowingly becoming a very expensive affair. The service is friendly, but on our last visit, a waitress was wearing so much strong perfume that even when she was standing three tables away, the entire aroma and taste of our food was drowned out by the perfume. That's absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant! For that reason, only 3 stars for the service.

What a wonderful beach club feel you get here! You can order dishes like tapas. It's delicious with a glass of wine and a taste of different dishes, and the pork belly is highly recommended! Great service and a stunning view over the water. We ate here twice during our vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a lovely lunch outdoors, sharing the dining concept. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavors. The fact that the plates weren't all served at once, but rather were served in a nice, sequential order, was fantastic.

We had a fantastic evening. The service was super friendly, attentive, and on top of things. The cocktails were excellent and a great start. The bottle of wine was delicious. All the dishes the waitress recommended were delicious (Peking duck, spicy chicken, sushi rolls, etc.), and you could tell they had been lovingly prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed. We will definitely be back. And the waitress, who studies business economics... was the star of the show. Thanks!

All show and no substance. Beautiful location and modern decor – but that's where the positives end. The food looks good, but tastes bland and seems poorly thought out. Some dishes arrived cold, and the combinations were neither creative nor technically convincing. Everything is geared towards visual appeal and being "Instagram-friendly" – but tastes flat. No depth, no signature style, no passion. The service was friendly but overwhelmed: long wait times, inattentiveness, forgotten orders – and they barely reacted to complaints. Overall, the concept feels like an attempt to play at fine dining – without the necessary expertise. Absolutely disappointing for the price. Sadly, a prime example of "all show, no food." Not recommended.

I went here with my mother, and what was supposed to be a celebration turned into a huge disappointment. My mother ordered chicken and I ordered salmon salad. When I was served, I was given sambu salad, which I hadn't ordered. They apologized, and they promised me a salmon salad. After 20 minutes, we were asked if everything was to our liking. I said, "No, I didn't get my dish, and my mother's food was cold." The waitress was shocked and immediately went to inquire. After another 20 minutes, I received my salmon salad. It consisted of large lettuce leaves, capers, and a hunk of salmon. It looked like it had been made quickly, but it certainly wasn't made with love. After the first bite, I was practically done... it was like sand, and my teeth were gritting. I ate the salmon, but not the rest. When I got the bill, they asked again if everything tasted good. I said no again: my mother's chicken was cold, the salad was way too late... no, it was just not good. I said I wanted a discount, and the waitress left. It took ages. Mom and I got up, and the same woman came again with the bill... uh, what did I say? The discount, you were going to ask about that. We walked forward and saw a bizarre argument between two women. Someone else took over, saying we didn't have to pay for the bottle of water. My mother paid the bill and said, "Come on, let's go." We were disappointed, sad, and angry—unbelievable, never experienced that before. We continued talking in the car. Normally, we would have had dessert, which we missed. We drove to McDonald's drive-through and got our delicious soft-serve dessert there. What a flop! We saved our asses off for a trip, and then this. So awful.

Unfortunately, we couldn't order lunch. There were no pastries with the coffee. The staff clearly weren't interested in a group of 12, including three small children. So we only had coffee and soft drinks. The wait time was very long.

A bit of chaos on the terrace, everything appeared to be reserved but this was only mentioned on a few tables. During our meal the entire terrace was only a third full. Food quite expensive for what it was. The young lady who did the reception was very friendly, fast and how busy she was with the reception, taking orders at the cash register and telephone. Hats off!!!! She remained calm

You wouldn't expect this restaurant when driving through the industrial area; it's located right on the water with a beautiful view. We had a good meal, but had to return the first bowl due to my sesame intolerance, even though I mentioned it when ordering. Part of the interior is reminiscent of a construction site.

Very strange; we ordered 2X uitsmijter with ham + cheese. We got 1X what we ordered, but 1 uitsmijter without ham and without cheese??? No explanation received how something like this could happen.

Na mailcontact te hebben gehad met de manager Jasper hebben we er voor gekozen om voor Basta te gaan. In eerste instantie waren sommigen van ons gezelschap een beetje sceptisch over het shared dining concept. Maar na de eerste ronde was iedereen om. Dank voor de fijne avond, wij komen zeker terug!

Was a nice location Trendy place but a pleasant atmosphere There were a group of 10, including a number of teenagers who enjoyed delicious sushi and the old people who also had a more than excellent meal with the separate shared dining dishes. Something went wrong during the service, but it was resolved in a very competent and correct manner by manager Jasper. It was our annual family weekend in Zeeland, and we will definitely go back next year. Recommended!

The waitress wasn't really friendly. We were a group of 10 but the bill could not be shared by 10 people and had to be paid in one go. I understand this if everyone wants to pay for their own drinks or something, but just splitting the bill with a large group is quite normal, right?!!

Came here for dinner after enjoying the surroundings. Shared dining can be amazing, if the food is done well. Luckily the food exceeded our expectations and every dish tasted very fresh and had a good variety of flavour. Our favourites were the Iberico ribs, the creamy & spicy scallops and the Nikkei oysters. Very atmospheric place, friendly staff and overall a really good experience. Will visit again!
