Restaurant Duinzicht in Ouddorp

Had a delicious lunch and a good meal, but the service was hopeless. After 20 minutes, we went to see if we could get a cup of coffee to start with.

We ordered a set menu. The first time, we had to wait an incredibly long time for every course. The second time was much better, even though it was actually busier. Ice cream was included in the set menu; one person preferred coffee instead of ice cream, but we had to pay extra for that. I thought that was strange. The atmosphere is nice and neat; it is a beautiful restaurant. We ordered and ate a set menu again this year. The waiting time was incredibly long; at a certain point, we were really getting bored. Additionally, the set menu at Fletcher (not just at this one, we have had this experience) has become a lot more expensive. Not the purchase price, but nowadays you have to pay an additional amount for a lot of dishes you can choose from. So the choice has become much, much smaller. You buy a set menu via Social Deal, but a significant amount is added to that when you finally see the menu. This is very unfortunate and tarnishes the Fletcher name for us. We really enjoyed coming here; the food is really delicious and served nicely, but now it’s over for us. I think this is a real shame. I would understand it better if the price of the set menu were increased slightly at the time of purchase, so you know what to expect. That would feel fair; right now, it feels like a deception (a surprise afterwards). Otherwise, the restaurant, the food, the service, and the atmosphere at Duinzicht are very good.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The rooms weren't properly clean, and the carpets had clearly visible stains. The restaurant also failed to impress us. The food was poor, and the service was very weak. We had to wait a long time for our food, and even simple things like sugar were forgotten. The way criticism was handled was particularly unpleasant. If you calmly try to address problems, you get the feeling that the staff can't accept the criticism and immediately think you're shouting at them. Overall, cleanliness, food, and service were unsatisfactory for us. We unfortunately wouldn't recommend this hotel.

No disabled parking in front of the door. Reasonably accessible with a wheelchair. We asked for a round table in advance because of the wheelchair, and it was ready :) Unfortunately, we had to remove the chair ourselves, and we had placed it next to the wheelchair for a moment... It stood there all evening even though it was in the way for the staff... But squeezing between me and the extra chair was easier than just moving it 😅. There is a disabled toilet, but the toilet seat isn't positioned correctly (it was already like that during the Easter brunch, so we reported it properly then), but unfortunately, months later, it still hadn't been repaired. The soap hangs way above wheelchair user height 😅. The food was fine, but we're leaving it at this, as it's not comfortable going out with a wheelchair.

Had a delicious meal on the terrace

There is not much to say, the food was just abyssmal, nothing tastes like anything. The duck completely bland, the asparagus not properly cooked not even the tips, a deepcool carrot that didn’t taste like anything and one single potato that tasted not like a potato more like how a freezer smells. The mojito, it’s an utter disgrace to call that a cocktail, it was just straight up water with a little bit rum and half a slice of lime and some peppermint. And all that for a pretty hefty price. Just don’t go there it’s not worth in by any means. At least the food looked nice.

A modern, small, and reasonably priced hotel right by the beach. Functional rooms, a lovely terrace, and ample parking for cars and bicycles. An electric vehicle charging station is available. The town of Ouddorp is about a 5-minute bike ride away.

In terms of location, the hotel near the dunes and beach is perfect. However, the hotel is very dated and unnecessarily neglected. The senior management of Fletcher Hotels should seriously reconsider making a simple investment in a substantial refurbishment of the interior, such as addressing damaged and stained hotel room doors and walls, etc. Furthermore, the glaring absence of an air conditioning system is essential for a pleasant stay for both guests and service-oriented staff in the hotel and kitchen. The fans brought in are not only inadequate but also outdated in the age of climate change, failing to bring the warmth and rising heat down to an acceptable and pleasant temperature for both hotel guests and staff.

We had a lovely lunch with the four of us, including a drink and a glass of wine. It was very pleasant, the lunch was of excellent quality, and the service was nice and efficient. Worth repeating.

I had reserved Easter brunch for 7, but unfortunately 2 of us were sick, so there were 5 of us. I had to pay for 7, which my husband did. I wouldn't have done it myself, but I am in a wheelchair. I ate at 2 restaurants this week and they were appalled.

The food was absolutely delicious. There was nothing to complain about there. Unfortunately, the portions were quite small. We weren't full. For the prices charged, a larger portion would have been appropriate. Also, the menu was small, which we generally appreciated, but two of the few dishes weren't available, including the burger. A real shame. The beer selection was excellent.

We went on a spontaneous weekend getaway and ended up at Duinzicht. We had a great time and enjoyed the service.

We unexpectedly decided to book a hotel, and that's how we ended up here. A very nice and charming hotel. Unfortunately, you can't get anything to eat in the village after 10:00 PM on Friday nights. So we opted for McDonald's in Spijkenisse, which was open until 4:00 AM. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Only had a cup of coffee and apple pie, but that was fine. The service was also excellent.

We sat at a table there for 15 minutes and received no service. There was no one behind the bar and no one in the restaurant. Staff members walked through the restaurant several times and into the kitchen. No one said anything and no one helped us. We finally just left. It was 11:30 pm at the time. What a terrible restaurant.

We went there for high tea. It was wonderful. The staff member was incredibly friendly and professional. She anticipated our every need. The prices are more than fair. The atmosphere was lovely. The high tea was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Cozy little restaurant! A short walk and you're at the sea.

Four adults and two children dined together. The children's dishes were mediocre, especially the hamburger. The adults' starter, the mussel soup, was delicious. The main courses were somewhat disappointing. The sea bass was very bland and there were still many bones in the fillet. They forgot the coffee with dessert. Unfortunately, the children didn't receive a bracelet either.

Dear Sir/Madam, We came to your hotel to relax, and on our first evening, we wanted to have dinner. We arrived at 8:40 PM. Your website stated that dinner was available from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. We would have liked to take advantage of this option, but were told the kitchen was no longer open. This was disappointing, as many guests were still dining in the restaurant. We would appreciate it if you could explain why our request could not be honored.

Food, service, atmosphere excellent

Today we tried the surf & turf at the restaurant, which is considered the highlight of the menu. The preparation was very well done – the meat and seafood were delicious. Unfortunately, the portion was significantly smaller than we expected for this price, especially the meat (estimated at about 100g). It's a shame, because with a slightly larger portion, it would have been a perfect dish all around.

Breakfast was very basic… rolls from the day before, not even warmed up. Stoppings: two types of cheese and some sausage. Decent rooms, friendly staff. But… not 4-star standard.

Poor selection at breakfast and dinner, not in keeping with a 4 star hotel. For example, at breakfast there was a complete lack of fish, cream cheese, no natural oatmeal, no nuts and for lactose intolerant people there was no soy milk or yoghurt. The hot dishes were reduced exclusively to omelettes and bacon - that was it. We booked breakfast for four days. Even after asking about natural oatmeal, fish or cream cheese, the staff didn't respond - they said - they didn't exist! The menu for dinner does not correspond to the four star hotel - it is simply a poor offering and just as poor execution - it simply doesn't taste good. Service - is inattentive and not trying at all! The ambience in the restaurant is nice, but unfortunately that is deceptive for the inner content - poor gastronomy and service not only in the restaurant but also in the hotel. The marriage bed consists of two mattresses and therefore they are constantly coming apart - this is not well thought out and very uncomfortable! There are no bathrobes, no slippers, no water and no minibar with refrigerator in the room!!! After asking several times, we only got a bathrobe. The hotel is not recommended!!!!!!

Very nice Fletscher hotel. Beautiful location. Just settled in during a bike ride. Delicious wine and nice service, definitely worth it.

Great we enjoyed it. The high tea also looked very tasty, it was explained what was on the tray, tea and coffee in abundance. The space where we were sitting also looked very romantic. It is really recommended. Definitely come and use the high tea at this Fletcher.

Food is good but very little on the plate, I expected more. Poor staff and little table service. Don't come there anymore.

What an experience... and really positive... Upon entering we were immediately asked for a drink, good start. But that was all. After asking for service several times, no one came to us, and the menu also took quite some time. Finally, after more than an hour, I was able to order something to eat. The menu was okay, nothing special. The starter... I had the charcuterie board. Some Italian sausage and a flatbread. The sausage was okay, except for a few hard chewy pieces, I couldn't get it to bite off. Then that flatbread... what a mess!! It was so dry that it broke when you picked it up. Can't get rid of it!! Main course, a simple tournedos. The meat was fine, a bit tasteless but passable. The vegetables, well... hard, undercooked, not tasty. Not a great experience overall Staff can benefit from a significant improvement when it comes to customer contact. And the kitchen, well... I would personally be ashamed if I had to have this food served, Tasteless, undercooked, could really be much better! As a hobby chef and former catering employee myself, I would tackle a lot of attention points... because god, they can make something fun out of this.

Have lunch after a walk on the beach. Since it was the 2nd day of Christmas it was very busy. Despite that, they made room for us and we could choose between a bouncer or a croquette sandwich. Both tasted good.

Had to wait 45 minutes for the menu, unfortunately no pesto for the carpaccio, while we were eating the starter the main course was also served. We were only asked once if we wanted something to drink, no more dinner for us in this restaurant!

Unfortunately, perhaps it was not the evening before service, but they were not good and had a dirty apron on, everything went wrong with the first drink order, the drink was even forgotten for two gentlemen, wrong sauce for the schnitzel, too little wine, fries that were ordered were forgotten, in short, a pity, especially because this evening was a gift for us from our children because we were married for 50 years. Entering at the front of the building via the main entrance at the rear, you have to take a detour to get to the restaurant with the mobility scooter tables and chairs, which are a bit close together, which is difficult to maneuver here.

It should be a nice birthday dinner. But if 4 mistakes happen when ordering for 5 people (a sugar-free drink for diabetics comes with sugar, a portion of sole with three fish comes as two normal portions, a César salad without bacon only comes with bacon, and after a complaint then also without it Chicken, a portion of fries is completely forgotten), the frustration is inevitable. At some point you've had enough and just want to pay and leave... I think there is still a need for training in proper listening! In any case, I don't have to worry about this anymore.

Bad, I really wouldn't eat here. Due to the 'all you can eat' style interior, there is little to no atmosphere. Staff is ignorant and uncomfortable. The worst part was that we found plastic in two meals. Not just any plastic, but large pieces, hard and sharp. If someone had swallowed this... There's no way this is possible. Reaction from staff was tame, barely a response and taking a dish off the bill shows that seriousness was not recognized at all.

Service was great, food was okay this time, not great.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist ansprechend, leider kommt das Essen da leider nicht ansatzweise heran. Z.B. die Gamba’s in Öl haben nach nichts geschmeckt, beim Bürger wurden die Zusatzbestellungen vergessen- auf Nachfrage hat es gute 10 min gedauert bis dann der gesamte Teller getauscht. Die anderen Hauptspeisen waren leider auch nur 08/15. Die Spagelsuppe ist gelungen. Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt. Viel Glück jedem der hingeht. Mich hat es sehr enttäuscht…

Have eaten several times in the Duinzicht restaurant. Recently enjoyed the 12 o'clock meal and the high tea. I thought it was on the pricey side for what you get for 2 people, but it saves 40% with a Careyn Pass. The quality of the food is excellent, as is the service and atmosphere. Very nice!

Een nachtje overnacht in dit hotel. Restaurant was goed bezet qua gasten. Er waren ‘maar’ twee mensen in de bediening maar het verliep redelijk soepel. Kwalitiatief lekker gegeten. (Risotto truffel en tagliatelle zalm). De laatste was verkeerd begrepen door de bediening waardoor we verse zalm (voorgerecht) als hoofdgerecht kregen?! Aangegeven dat dit op zich geen probleem is (ondanks dat we dit niet besteld hebben) wanneer er friet bij geserveerd wordt. De friet kregen we er gratis bij door het misverstand. Netjes opgelost wat ons betreft. Mooi sfeervol restaurant. De receptioniste moet misschien eens overwegen om te switchen van baan! Communicatief en contactgerichtheid was ver te zoeken. Heel zakelijk en puur en alleen doen wat ze van je nodig heeft. Jammer want hierdoor laat ze gasten (in ieder geval ons) zich niet welkom voelen. Als er mensen voorbij lopen niet begroeten, nauwelijks aankijken en vooral snel op haar scherm van de computer kijken. Gemiste kans! Kamers zijn prima! Heel rustig en ruim voor 2 personen. Bij binnenkomst konden we door een tussendeur op de kamer zo naar de buren. Daar zat gelukkig niemand, maar de deuren waren ze vergeten om op slot te doen. Gratis parkeren.

Shame. Not a sophisticated high tea. Pieces like sandwiches. The sweet part was simply bought. Too bad, too bad. Management can certainly take a course in paying attention. What also surprised me was that the dirty laundry was taken away by the restaurant. Not an appetizing sight. I'm looking forward to our next high tea in another Fletcher. I don't recommend this one.

Another Fletcher High Tea, nice welcome at reception, did not see other people in the restaurant, soup was tasty, very thick sandwiches with carpaccio and old cheese, not the refined sandwiches you expect at a High Tea, sweet was sweet . Seen the worker several times, the dirty laundry was also taken away by the restaurant. No face. We had to ask twice for a bag of rooibos tea and when we left, no one responded to our goodbyes. Shame. We do "research" on High Teas at Fletcher, but this one is in our top 5.

Goed eten, vriendelijk personeel. Wel bijzonder dat na een schijnbaar druk weekend de kipsaté 'op' is.

Weniger Sterne beim Essen. Wenn man Surf and Turf bestellt und statt Garnelen billige geschmacksneutrale Tiefseeshrimps auf dem Teller liegen, dann ist man enttäuscht. Schade um das Rindfleisch. Das war nämlich gut.

Eten lekker, maar 1 uur erop moeten wachten. Personeel "duikt weg ".

Een fantastisch met elkaar ingespeeld team, dat merk je meteen. Mooi om te zien dat dit team in staat is de juiste positieve ‘vibe’ te creëren. Zowel met de gasten als met elkaar. En niet te vergeten, ook nog heerlijk gegeten…

Hier met de familie gegeten ter ere van de verjaardag van mijn vader. Het is een mooi restaurant alleen de bediening liet te wensen over. Glazen werden niet opgehaald, verkeerde bestelling, zonder overleg een ander biertje ingeschonken omdat de ander op was en dingen vergeten op de rekening. Het eten was overigens wel uitstekend.

Wij hadden een keuze menu en op de kaart staat een vers afgebakken broodje maar niets in minder waar gewoon een afbakbroodje ciabatta van de groothandel. De soepen waren lekker, als hoofdgerecht hadden we Bavette gekozen tegen een meerprijs hier was niets mis mee prima bereid. Het duurde erg lang voordat de nagerechten werden opgenomen en helaas bij 1 nagerecht niet wat er op de kaart stond ik had de zoete lekkernijen maar daar was geen red velvet cake bij en ook geen kletskop dit nagevraagd en de bediening kon nog wel een koekje halen?! Raar antwoord vond ik.

Lekkere High tea gehad via een Fletcher deal. Was heerlijk en het personeel was erg vriendelijk.

Leuke plaatsen dicht bij een wandelgebied, en het restaurant is fijn, heerlijke gerechten, koffie en taarten.

Eten was heel erg goed. Bediening was erg vriendelijk, communicatie onderling is wel een verbeterpuntje.

Soep ,courgette was te spicy Een paar soeplepels genuttigd en de 2 borden laten staan Jammer genoeg geen compensatie er voor Al was het maar een kop koffie . Totaal bedrag werd gewoon afgerekend .

Etwas bessere Frittenbuden Qualität. Cesars Salat war unterirdisch ohne Geschmack.

Was een gezellige en lekkere high tea vooraf kregen we een vegetarische kippensoep wat was die super lekker en de rest ook....zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Hele vriendelijke bediening. Erg jong maar prima medewerkers. Ook een goede keuken met heerlijke gerechten.

Klassieke en aangename entourage.

Bij gebrek aan een ander restaurant wat op maandagavond open is, zijn we hier gaan eten. Het was niet slecht, maar zeker ook niet goed. Bovendien was de bediening niet erg vriendelijk. Toen we aankwamen stond de muziek erg hard aan. Het koste wat moeite om gedaan te krijgen dat de muziek wat zachter ging. Maar deze stond nog steeds best hard. Ik vond dat eigenlijk niet passend bij een restaurant. De kwaliteit van de gerechten vonden we ook niet echt heel goed. Wij zullen niet meer terugkomen en kiezen volgende keer op de maandagavond voor een andere optie. Desnoods een frietje.

Mooi restaurant, wij hebben er geluncht.
