Bij Marc in Ouddorp

At the entrance, a sign asked guests to wait to be seated. After a very long wait, we were told as someone walked by to just sit down wherever they liked. Once seated, menus were already on the table, so we could see what we wanted to eat and drink. It was very quiet, and one-on-one service between guests and staff would have been possible. However, we were more or less ignored. Behind the counter, one employee was preparing drinks while three others stood around chatting. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we'd had enough and left.

The food was excellent. The service was very attentive. The only downside was the noise and the constant hustle and bustle of the guests, which was extremely annoying!

Had such a delicious pizza tonight, super service from a number of nice employees. You can tell they enjoy working here, and Marc even came over to say hello himself.

Unfortunately, the pizzas were undercooked.

The staff was super friendly. Fast delivery of drinks and food. Nice atmosphere. We had five pizzas, all very tasty and topped with fresh ingredients. A definite 9/10 for all the pizzas. BUT! The prices are incredibly high. For example, a 0.2l Coke costs €3.40. There was a lot of choice on the menu. Unfortunately, there were too many vegan options. For example, you couldn't find a schnitzel. All in all: If you're not on a budget and don't necessarily want to eat meat, you can have a nice evening here.

Too few fries were delivered, although this was resolved properly.. However, the fries were covered in black, burnt oil residue, so the oil needs to be changed more often.. this is really unacceptable!

The terrace is a nice place to sit, but that is about all there is to say. The “chefs” simply cannot cook. The sea bream was overcooked like chewing gum, and the bavette was of no quality. Afterwards, as a second chance, we got takeout, and half the order was missing. It is a nice setting, by the way, but it is mainly recommended if you are just going for a drink.

I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. The description clearly states chicken thighs. When being served, the unusual texture immediately stands out. Normally, this dish consists of round cubes of meat. This was more like stringy meat. Clearly not chicken. The texture was also stringy. I read on the menu that pulled pork was also served. This was just pulled pork. The young man serving checked it, and his order stated chicken. And that the different texture was "due to the marinade." That was it. Because it tasted reasonably good, I finished it and left. But it wasn't right. At the cashier and while paying, I mentioned it again, and she said she "would pass it on." It really wasn't busy. Most tables and benches were unoccupied. So it wasn't that crowded.

The beach bistro right by Paal 10 looks inviting. However, the prices and what you get for them are unacceptable to me. A 300ml Corona for €6 and a Macchiato in a tiny paper cup for €3.75! Hmm, everyone has to decide that for themselves. To me, it seems a bit overpriced…

Sadly, the staff showed almost no interest in the customer. They literally threw the plates and cutlery on the table. They could barely manage a "good afternoon." Apparently, the masses are cashing in and I was served a mediocre lunch.

We ate here for the first time, but it certainly won't be the last. We were both thrilled; the service was pleasant, and despite the restaurant being full, the food arrived quickly. The beef short rib was so tender you didn't even need a knife, and the accompanying prawns were absolutely delicious. The pizza was also very tasty. To finish, we had the New York cheesecake with raspberry ice cream and whipped cream, which was so good that even I, who doesn't usually like cheesecake, enjoyed it.

We went there for lunch with two small children. The staff was very friendly and quickly showed us to a table on the terrace. After our drinks were served and we ordered our food, we didn't have to wait long for that either. We had sushi, kibbeling (battered and fried fish), and frikandel (a type of sausage) with fries. Everything tasted great. Of course, it's not fine dining, but the quality is perfectly acceptable for a relaxed lunch. We also found the price-performance ratio to be completely reasonable, considering today's prices. The location right on the dunes is particularly lovely, creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Another plus for families: There are several play areas for children right next to the restaurant, so the little ones can burn off some energy after eating. The parking lot is very close by and even offers charging stations for electric cars. However, the charging speed was rather slow during our visit; I only managed to get a maximum of about 3.5 kW. While that's slow, it's still convenient for a longer meal at the restaurant. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would return anytime.

In my opinion this restaurant is a tourist scam place. The Food was not good. The best part were the fries. They were crispy and that's it. The Steak did'nt had any taste, the pork was dry and tasted like nothing. I don't know if the chef knows what salt is... But the worst part is the price, too expansive for this kind of quality. I do not recommend.

Perfect. Rarely have I experienced such a wonderful restaurant visit. We were there with a toddler, a stroller (ramp!!) and a highchair, no problem at all. We had a delicious meal. Tartare, mussels, sea bream. Everything was very tasty, including the fries with various mayo options. The cocktails were excellent. The service was outstanding—very friendly, fast, and attentive. We sat outside in the shade, and even the restroom was clean. Wow!!!

We ate in and ordered takeout, and the price-performance ratio is a joke! See photos. Three different kinds of fish for €18.50?? Save yourselves, folks!

The price-quality ratio is very poor. Little food for a lot of money. The mixed grill was even an insult to the meat; the steak was overcooked and the pork tenderloin so dry you almost choked on it. The chicken satay was too small. The only thing somewhat in proportion to the price was the pizza margherita. The staff was also slow. Definitely not recommended!

An absolute highlight on the Dutch coast! We spent a fantastic evening here and were absolutely thrilled. The restaurant is perfectly situated right on the North Sea dunes. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a super cozy, stylish, and typically Dutch feel-good atmosphere ("gezelligheid").

The location is fantastic, right in the dunes and on the square. Our children could romp around happily in the playground, which we could keep an eye on from the terrace. I found the staff a bit disappointing; there is definitely room for improvement there. The food was good, but nothing special.

Here is a possible 1-star review: ⭐☆☆☆☆ For €22, you really expect something better. The fish & chips were a huge disappointment. The fish had a strange aftertaste and, moreover, was soggy in some places instead of nice and crispy. The fries came straight from the freezer. The tastiest part of the meal was the coleslaw, but apparently they don't make that themselves either. All in all, a very mediocre experience and absolutely no good value for money. Unfortunately, not worth repeating.

A truly criminal portion for the price you pay. Overpriced snack bar. Also charging service fees that are not indicated, and the service is super poor on top of that. It's a good thing the food was at least somewhat edible, otherwise this would have received a 1-star rating.

After a walk on the beach, we had a delicious meal and drinks here in the balmy evening sun.

Nice atmosphere and great gluten-free options

Unfortunately, we were turned away at 8 pm with the words 'No table, no food, no drinks'. It's a shame; even if all the empty tables had been reserved, I would have appreciated a more friendly tone.

* The spareribs were not tender and the flavor came from the sauce on top, so not recommended for the price they charge. * Desserts were made from canned fruit; this was very disappointing. * The salad was dry raw vegetables without a nice dressing or anything. Overall, the food was disappointing, and with three small children who eat little and 2 adults, the bill of 170 euros was very high. My advice: drive on to the Brouwersdam for tastier food for less money. The positive thing was that it is a nice place with good service, although it is strange that they also own Paal 10, yet the food there is much better.

We had a good experience picking up food. I dropped a bag of fries and the staff were kind enough to remake it free of charge. This made my day and we would like to thank the staff and the kitchen again. On top of that, the food was very tasty!!

The food is okay, nothing special but generous portions and good value for money. The service is quite quick, although it can sometimes take a while when it's busy. And the staff is friendly. But ultimately, you come for that lovely summery atmosphere on the large terrace overlooking the "Speelberg" and the adjacent square with the theater. Inside, the round tables are cool. Upstairs is not recommended. Sometimes it is noisy inside. But lovely when the weather is nice.

We had a delicious meal at this location. Great value for money. The pizza was large, crispy, and delicious. The meal salad with goat cheese was substantial and just as delicious as it looked. The ribeye with delicious fries and warm vegetables was incredibly tasty. We sat comfortably inside and the service was top-notch. There is also a large terrace and a play area outside. A lovely spot for lunch, dinner, or a cup of coffee with a treat.

The food was good, the burger very juicy, the pizza unfortunately a bit greasy but still good, and the location right on the dunes near the beach was great. We were able to choose our own table and opted for the upper floor. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting, we informed the staff that we were seated upstairs. We were told that the upper floor was closed. They could simply hang a chain across the stairs if the floor really needs to be closed. After we went downstairs, our order was processed quickly, and the food arrived promptly. It tasted good.

Poor service and cold food. Unfriendly...what a shame, they won't be seeing us again anytime soon. And we own a house there. We certainly won't be recommending it. There are better options nearby. It's also a shame for the owner; they lack heart and service. They could have made money there.

Definitely recommended. It is noisy due to the large open space, but that is a matter of personal taste and depends on the crowd.

We were there as a family today and wanted to eat. We sat outside and were served very late, and then had to wait quite a while for the drinks we ordered ourselves. The guests who arrived after us got their drinks first. We asked for a menu three times, and it was only brought after the third request by an annoyed young waiter. Then we waited another 30 minutes (because the kids were still playing), even though we had already said we wanted to order. No one came. I tried to signal to the waiter that we wanted to order. His face said, "Ugh, no thanks." Then I went inside and said we wanted to pay, since they weren't going to serve us and had left us sitting outside. Six waiters were sitting or standing comfortably at the counter and didn't feel the need to serve us at all. Young staff who clearly didn't want to do anything. No thanks, we'll eat somewhere else.

This restaurant is beautifully decorated and located right next to the Landal Resort Ouddorp! It's so popular that reservations are recommended! However, even without a reservation, you can wait for your food with a drink and take it to go! The food is fantastic! I was especially delighted by the unusual pizza topping with goat cheese and pear! The pizza, salad, and fish are highly recommended, and the appetizers and salads are delicious, as are the fries! My husband's steak wasn't quite perfect, though. I would definitely go back and recommend it to everyone!

It's a shame that the quality of the food and service at this restaurant has declined so drastically after just one year. Regarding the service, you have to actively seek attention from the staff. As for the food, the picture below shows kibbeling with a nice selection of seafood, while the picture above shows cheap cod with a thick breading. It feels like they're no longer focused on the customer, but solely on profit. It's a pity things have deteriorated this way.

Very chilly inside, cold temperature. Staff comes by every minute to ask questions, unfortunately, and then suddenly they're nowhere to be found when you want to order. Dinner tastes are not good, no high-flyers, and it's still a bit pricey. :(

We enjoyed a delicious lunch. The spicy chicken sandwich was generously filled and had a wonderfully spicy flavor combined with pickle slices. I would never have thought of that combination, but it worked perfectly! It's also nice that they have local beers on the menu. They were delicious. Thanks in part to Bij Marc, I can see myself renting a house at Landal Ouddorp again.

We were here with the family and, to be honest, had hoped for a bit more after reading so many positive reviews. We ordered garlic bread for a whopping €8, two slices of cake at €4.80 each, and four hot drinks. The service team consisted mostly of very young employees who seemed friendly, but displayed little routine and no discernible structure. Despite the manageable number of guests, there was a noticeable sense of restlessness. The garlic bread came first, followed by the cakes, but the drinks came a few minutes later. There was no discernible order in the service flow. It was unpleasant to note that a "reserved" sign for the evening was thrown directly onto our table during our meal. This seemed unnecessarily rude, especially since it was a large, shrink-wrapped sign that could easily have been put back in place after we left. On the positive side, a waitress asked if everything was okay. However, the attention paid to families was inconsistent: While the children at the next table received art supplies, ours were simply overlooked. Overall, the value for money here isn't right. The prices are significantly higher than what the service, the menu, and the atmosphere would justify. Unfortunately, this isn't a place we'd visit again.

Point 1: Service was top-notch, friendly, courteous, and always on the ball, despite the full house. Point 2: Food was OK. The kids' pasta was very dry and the sauce lacked flavor. Pizza was extravagant and delicious. The burger was very dry and simply not good enough for the price. The ambiance was very nice. We also had a nice seat at the edge where there are lots of windows. We recommend the pizza 🍕

Prices up, quality down. The delicious salad dressing seems to have been replaced with mayo, and the poffertjes were carelessly served in a pile of powdered sugar. A real shame – a real downgrade compared to our last stay here two years ago.

A lovely lunch before we head home

Normally a good experience. We were supposed to let them know when the main course would be ready. We did that about 40 minutes after the starter. Within seconds, the food was on the table. Everything was lukewarm. We sent everything back. We were supposed to get new food. Unfortunately, everything was put back on the grill, so the steak was practically like shoe soles. So we didn't get new dishes, but "reheated" food. Because we had cut it up, and that cut meat came back. Yes, and with cooked mussels, that's absolutely disgusting. Too bad. Not anymore for a while. We ordered and picked up food, and the food was excellent. We have nothing to complain about. I can recommend the Angus Burger; the meat was cooked very well, medium-rare. The pizzas and sides were all very tasty, too.
