Nog nooit zo beroerd gegeten. De saté was van vies onbestemd afvalvlees. Ik kon niet eens bepalen of het varken of kip was. De patat was ook al niet te eten. Toegegeven de kroepoek uit een zak was als enige te eten. Mijn antwoord op de vraag of alles smaakte, heb ik aangegeven dat de saté niet lekker was. De lieve dame liep zonder iets te zeggen gewoon door. Hele nare ervaring!

Had lunch here. The avocado toast was not good. After saying this, a new one was made. That one was good. But yes, I had already eaten my croquette sandwich, otherwise it would have been cold again. It was way too busy, you could tell by everything. A wait time of 45 minutes for a lunch is not a very long wait. Quite a shame because the location is really nice. The service is great, that's not the fault. The enormous crowds are the spoilsport. With the inside and outside full, this is asking for problems. Then you make mistakes and that is a huge shame.

Wonderful by the water in beautiful weather. We thoroughly enjoyed a high tea with all sorts of treats. We had plenty of space and time to catch up.

We sampled several hamburger menus this evening. The presentation was beautiful. The fries were crispy. The burgers had a very unique flavor. The homemade lemonade is highly recommended.

Well, the girls couldn't do much about it, but it wasn't exactly hospitable either. The only reputable place closed before closing time, and practically everything we visited before was already closed. The tip for a pub that would be open, well, you guessed it... just pour a pint. What a hassle, and you would have been real heroes, what a perilous adventure.

We went to De Bataaf for lunch for the first time in a long time. Upon arrival, we received a friendly welcome and were allowed to choose our own table. Our first impression was positive, and our drinks were also taken fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the atmosphere then changed. The wrong drink was delivered. Not a problem in itself, things can happen, but after that, we were completely ignored. We weren't asked if we wanted anything to eat, even though it was clearly happening around us. Ultimately, we had to signal a waitress ourselves. When we asked if we could order something, we received an irritated response. She unfriendlyly asked if we wanted to "see the whole menu," even though we had already looked at it online after waiting so long. We got the impression this woman might be the manager, which made the experience even more disappointing. On top of that, the waitress put down some very dirty cutlery. We noticed this when another waitress brought the food. She was very friendly and apologized immediately. The good news: the food arrived quickly and was truly delicious. Kudos to the chef, that wasn't the problem at all. Later, the same waitress came by and immediately asked if everything was to our liking and if we wanted anything else to drink, just as it should be. Her approach made up for a lot. In summary: The lunch was culinary-wise top-notch, but the service this time really left a lot to be desired. Especially since we've had much better experiences at De Bataaf in the past. Hopefully, this was an exception, because we love coming here, but hospitality should be palpable throughout the team.

The two of us went to Batavia 1894 on a warm day. Because the weather was beautiful, we easily changed our reservation to a spot on the terrace. Drinks arrived very quickly, but the food order took a bit longer due to the crowd. The food is what you'd expect: simply good food. It's nicely presented. The atmosphere is informal, which is exactly what we were looking for. In short, if you're looking for a quick bite to eat, Batavia 1894 in Wormer is a great spot!

Lovely outdoor terrace right on the babbling Zaan River. We had lunch here, a goat cheese salad and a tuna salad. The presentation was simple, but the taste was excellent.

It was a pleasant evening, and the food was delicious. The waitress gave us plenty of time to choose. I also had fries with my dish, and my girlfriend also had them, but that was too much for us. You can also share one portion of fries, which is plenty.

Extremely slow service. Tonight waited an hour per course, during which part of the desserts turned out to be forgotten. Eventually I was there from 18:15 to 22:00 and in that time I even got a starter, a main course and three drinks. The order was placed weeks in advance, so the kitchen can hardly claim to be surprised.

Very nice terrace on the Zaan! They have a lot of table outside so you always find a table to sit. The staff is calm and friendly, the place is very cozy and relax. Very good to seat with family and friends to talk about happenings. Last time I ordered a broodje steak very tasty. 10 out of 10. The view of the Zaan is gorgeous. For me it’s a time to relax when I’m there. I come here often to sunbathe ☀️

The weather was nice, so we could sit outside on the terrace by the water. Nice atmospheric restaurant. Helpful service and nice and fast. Personally I would have liked a bit more avocado on my sandwich, but that is the only thing I have to comment on.

What is so striking about the Bataaf in the last year is that it is going so well. The staff is great, they pay attention to who needs something without being annoying, the lead times are fine and above all the food is super tasty. Where at others you sometimes get a meager sandwich for 14 euros for lunch, at the Bataaf it is delicious and more than enough! Make a reservation!

If you order your dinner on the terrace at 16.50 they say a little later that you can only order at 17.00, no problem for us and also that it can take an hour is also fine. We chose Batavia 1894 to have lunch in Eindhoven with our family from Brazil. It was a very successful afternoon. The lunch was very tasty and the staff was friendly. The space and the view were beautiful. I will definitely come back often!

Nou, dat was me het etentje wel. Patat slap, schnitzel droog als karton, en de salade leek meer op konijnenvoer. Bediening? Traag en chagrijnig. Voor dat geld had ik beter een broodje kaas thuis kunnen eten. Kom hier niet terug, tenzij je van teleurstellingen houdt.

Service left much to be desired. The gentleman (slightly older, with a beard) was almost unfriendly, we really had to wave him over if we wanted to order something to drink. Dessert came in stages. When asked, "yes ma'am, one comes from the bar and the other from the kitchen", instead of "excuse me, I will immediately go and see where the rest of the order is". The gentleman didn't smell very fresh either. Our first drink didn't arrive until we had been sitting at the table for half an hour.

Great food, but getting the main course more than 2 hours after entering is really too long. Especially on a weekday when the place is not full. Some dishes were not warm enough but did not want to wait any longer, so did not send them back. Drinks service was very fast. But 45 minutes with empty plates in front of you from the starter, so that the main course could not be served, is really not acceptable. We skipped dessert since it was already late.

Had high tea. It took over 1.5 hours before the food arrived. After we had to ask twice ourselves. The food was perfect. But there is no speed. For me a no-go for next time. There was a goat tour, so it was very chaotic. Staff was probably very busy with that instead of us.

Waardeloos als je glutenvrij bent ..ik wilde het beyond burger menu maar dan met een glutenvrij broodje ..dit kon niet wand de broodjes waren volgens de dame te klein ( je betaald voor glutenvrij brood al 2 euro meer ) en de patat kon ook niet ,word gefrituurd in hetzelfde vet als de kroketten ..nou dan niet ! Vorrige x had ik een mini broodje met gebakken ei omdat er niks anders was ..terwijl mijn familie het heerlijkste eten voorgeschoteld kreeg ..ik had ze uitgenodigd ..maar ik ga daar dus niet meer heen, dit was de 2e x ik hoopte dat ze voor glutevrij de kaart hadden aangepast ?maar niet dus ..ik wil ook lekker eten en niet steeds een mini broodje gebakken ei ..er bestaan grotere kadetten glutenvrij ..en met een btje fantasie kan je ook wat lekkers maken voor mensen die ziek worden van gluten zoals ik.thuis eet ik ook niet elke dag hetzelfde

Yesterday we had dinner with a group of 7. Lovely on the terrace in the sun. The food was tasty, however the service could have been better. We had to wait a long time for service. Probably due to staff shortage. Most of the staff was very friendly.

Ate at Betaaf again this week. The steak sandwich was very disappointing this time. Way too much sauce and the steak was way overcooked. I hope that next time it will be as tasty as always, otherwise I won't go there again.

It was pleasant last Saturday evening but not very busy. The staff who handled our table was a bit 'searching'. Our group of 9 people was of course also quite large. The food was delivered at the same time and everyone was pleasantly surprised by the portions and quality. 7 of us had never been to the beautiful Batavia building. 1 star – What a disastrous experience at Batavia Wormer! I don't know where to start. The staff is downright rude, impolite and not helpful at all. Like you're ruining their day just by ordering something. You ask for an ice cube, you literally get one pathetic cube as if it were gold. And then the “egg”… What a mockery. I have never seen such a poor, sad egg in my life. No lettuce, no garnish, no presentation – it looked like someone had dropped it on the floor at home and served it anyway. Two cheap, tasteless sandwiches of terribly low quality. Even a supermarket sandwich is better. There was literally nothing positive about this experience. For a catering establishment you expect at least a little decency and quality, but here you get the opposite of hospitality and food. A real waste of my time and money. I immediately ran away. Batavia Wormer? Never again.

1 ster – Wat een rampzalige ervaring bij Batavia Wormer! Ik weet niet waar ik moet beginnen. Het personeel is ronduit onbeschoft, onbeleefd en totaal niet behulpzaam. Alsof je hun dag verpest door gewoon iets te bestellen. Je vraagt om een ijsblokje, krijg je letterlijk één zielig blokje alsof het goud is. En dan het “eitje”… Wat een aanfluiting. Ik heb in mijn leven nog nooit zo’n armoedig, treurig ei gezien. Geen sla, geen garnering, geen presentatie – het zag eruit alsof iemand het thuis op de grond had laten vallen en alsnog had geserveerd. Twee goedkope, smakeloze broodjes erbij van bedroevend lage kwaliteit. Zelfs een supermarktbroodje is nog beter. Er was letterlijk niets positiefs aan deze ervaring. Voor een horecagelegenheid verwacht je op z’n minst een beetje fatsoen en kwaliteit, maar hier krijg je het tegenovergestelde van gastvrijheid en eten. Echt zonde van mijn tijd en geld. Ik ben meteen weggelopen. Batavia Wormer? Nooit meer.

During our stay in Wormerveer we dined in this place 3 times and were always satisfied with both the food and the service. The place is very nice, with a view of the canal and a nice atmosphere. We tasted both meat and fish dishes and they were all excellent and well presented. Recommended for a pleasant evening and a good dinner.

We have a very mediocre experience. The service in particular leaves much to be desired. Waited a very long time for cutlery while the starters had already been on the table for a long time. No glasses with a bottle of water (and then waiting a very long time for someone to come by). Service not that friendly either. Finally we went to the bar ourselves to order some drinks. Were clearly too busy. We were there at 7:15 PM and didn't have our main course until 9:15 PM. I ordered the surf platter. There were no Ebi tempura, no onion rings and no potato croquette on the plate (which should be on the plate according to the menu). A steak (Mwah) and three lukewarm grilled prawns. Since it was very difficult to get service and I was happy that I finally had a main course on the table, I left it at that. I had already drawn my conclusion then; we won't go back.

You can sit comfortably on the terrace and inside. The food is also very tasty and you have a lot of choice. It's just a shame that service sometimes takes a long time. This has happened several times already.

Overdag prachtig weer, savonds steenkoud, deur moest openblijven vanwege terras. Er is gekozen voor omzet ipv service naar klahten... Ik kom niet meer. Ik heb gevraagd of de deur dicht kon.... kon niet... uit beleefdheid de rekening betaald.... ik had weg willen lopen....dank locatie die gekozen om te trouwen...wat een anti ervaring Bah!

Wij zijn een aantal vaste klanten die in het verleden veel langskwamen ...door de jaren heen is zowel de bediening als de kwaliteit van het eten erg achteruit gegaan ...wij komen dan ook steeds minder over de vloer...vooral de 2 dikke getatoeëerde meiden die er werken zijn erg onbeschoft en hebben vaak problemen met klanten ...de 1ne is zelfs bedrijfsleider daar...we hebben het laatst weer een keer geprobeerd ...en zijn er nu wel klaar mee...er veranderd niks behalve dan dat het steeds slechter wordt maar wel duurder

Food was ok, nothing special. The location is nice and near the water, transmitting you some relaxing time. Staff were not fully trained, they served food without cluttering, even we asked for it a couple of times, we had to go and find where they were. For a one time visit, it's an ok place.

This is a top tent. After having driven by many times before, we now went inside after which we received a warm welcome from Fleur. It is pleasant there, you are not seen as a number but as a person. You can also drink many good drinks here with and without alcohol. You can also eat good food here. If you are looking for something like this, then definitely come in

Een Top tent is dit. Na eerder vaak langs te hebben gereden nu een x naarbinnen waarna we een warm welkom kregen van Fleur . Het is er gezellig je wordt hier niet als nummer gezien maar als persoon. Daarnaast kan je hier vele goede dranken drinken met en zonder alcohol. Je hier ook goed eten. Zoekt u zoiets loop dan zeker eens naarbinnen

For once I was in a romantic mood. So we booked a happy Valentine's dinner at Batavia 1894. Surprise for my wife 😃. And I have to admit, it was fun, partly because of the 2 singers and a very good DJ. And we enjoyed the delicious food....and of course the wine😃👍

2 x ziek geweest van het eten. Het pand heeft een mooie uitstraling, maar de bediening weet dat altijd te verpestendoor de slechte bediening. Zodra het 22:30 is geweest word de laatste ronde ingezet omdat het personeel naar huis wilt, terwijl de sluitingstijd om 12uur is. Kies de Bataaf, als er geen andere optie meer is.

The High Tea was very well prepared and plentiful. What we really liked was that we could take the leftover food with us. Received a sturdy box to put the remainder in. Class !!!! We will definitely come back again. 3 Retired ladies

Wederom weer een tegenvaller 2 maal de zaanburger en een saté. De burgers het broodje door de midden en een taaie gummie burger er tussen en een beetje saus verder zat er niks bij. De patatjes waren slap de saté was goed. Zeker totaal geen 130 euro waard. Na een al eerder tegenvaller met droge spareribs zijn we helaas klaar met het diner van Batavia. Een persoonlijke bericht aan het bedrijf waar niet op word gereageerd dan moet het jammer genoeg maar op deze manier.

Leuke locatie in een mooi pand. Het eten was ok maar de bediening matig. We moesten voor alles vragen en ze laten je ook rustig een tijd wachten terwijl collega’s onderling aan het babbelen zijn. Ook een teken dat er iemand aankomt werd niet gegeven . Jammer!

Having lunch here again after years. My lunch partner and I both had a Carpaccio sandwich. The arugula that was served was largely not fresh (i.e. wilted). The worst was put separately on the plate (the rest was simply eaten) and indicated to the waiter. The response: "Oh ok, I'll pass it on". That's it! Had dinner here at the beginning of December on the recommendation of a colleague and can't say a bad word about it. We had never been here before, so we accidentally entered through the side entrance, but luckily this was no problem. We received a friendly welcome and the staff remained extremely friendly throughout the evening. We were regularly asked if everything was satisfactory, but this was certainly not excessive. The waiting time between courses was just right and the food was very tasty. We were actually already a bit full by dessert, but we still wanted dessert because it looked so delicious, so we shared it and were even asked if we needed an extra plate. The food was not only super tasty and tasted fresh, but the plates were also beautifully presented. The atmosphere was also very good, the sound, despite being very busy, did not sound like a chicken coop and the entire restaurant was beautifully and attractively decorated. If you have never been here, I would definitely recommend going here!

I was actually able to park nearby, which was nice. Batavia has many parking spaces for its customers, but they are largely used by customers of the adjacent sports club who of course do not want to walk too far, because that makes you tired and of course they don't want that... The service and menu are delicious. It was pleasantly busy again, so making a reservation is recommended. The table was neatly ready. And I had lunch with the love of my life so it was great again!
