Cozy little restaurant with delicious food. We had the five-course menu and it was surprising and tasty. Beautifully presented and excellent explanations from the hostess, who did a great job throughout. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

Fantastic flavors and very friendly

What a fantastic chef Yamen is! The five-course surprise dinner was delicious from start to finish. From the bread roll with dip beforehand to the beautiful mango dessert. Everything was beautifully balanced. The Pinot Grigio is also highly recommended! The service was friendly and with a radiant smile. A lovely experience!!

The experience at Chef Yamen's is the highlight of my Netherlands's Trip! The interior, the Chef, his wife, the staff and the food were an immersive culinary experience. I have enjoyed every bit of everything, each plate held a different burst of flavors. It reminded me of home in the most elegant way. Thank you Chef Yamen and Gharam for a night very well spent!

We enjoyed a great 3 course menu! We got a fresh warm bread with labneh+zaatar before we started the first course. This was very tasty and a nice surprise. All dishes were delicious. We will definitely come back again to taste other dishes! Highly recommended.

Don't hesitate, book a table and go! We had an amazing meal! We had the 5-course menu and it was definitely worth it. All the flavors were spot on; no standard dishes. I knew Chef Yamen could cook well, but this exceeded my expectations. It is a gem of a restaurant in Wormer. I have been to many different restaurants, but this one truly ranks high among the best!

This is our second time at Chef Yamen; what a fantastic, picturesque little restaurant. The food is of exceptionally high quality. Everything is prepared fresh daily and made with love. You can see it, you can taste it: a passion for the craft. With a choice of a 3, 4, or 5-course menu, the selection is nice and clear. The portions are perfectly balanced, which is why we opted for the 5-course menu again. If you want something different from the average, then this cozy restaurant in Wormer is a real gem.

A few days in Amsterdam, and searching where to eat around our rooms, we find 'Chef Yamen'; so really, one of the best experience in my life, regarding cooking. You can choose a 3-, 4-, or 5-course menu and prepare to be amazed. All the dishes were original, drawing on Syrian, Italian, and French influences, and I found them delicious! Chef Yamen made everything himself, even the cotton candy cloud on the dessert. Reservations are recommended, although we did have a few guests dropping by.

Getriggerd door goede recensies en vaak volgeboekt, toch maar eens een hapje gaan eten bij chef Yamen van Maak Met Smaak in Wormer. Dit was ernstig lekker, keus uit een drietal variaties op een menu (meer of minder gangen) wij namen de 5 gangen, broodje vooraf met een beetje flauwe dip. Dit werd volledig naar de achtergrond geduwd door de rest van het eten, súper lekker. Het is geen mooie locatie, maar binnen waan je je niet in een Noord-Hollands dorp, aanrader als je van het eten van de Levant houdt!

It's so wonderful that something like "Maak met Smaak" is located in Wormer. The restaurant's decor is fun, cheerful, and just a little bit different, just like the food. We had the 5-course dinner and enjoyed a lovely evening with delicious food. Pros: - The falafel was incredibly delicious - The fried cauliflower was very flavorful - The portions are neither too big nor too small - The dessert was definitely the grand finale! The homemade cardamom ice cream was a hit - The steak was overcooked, but that was resolved very well with a new steak. - The drinks are very affordable, as is the food. Not so great: - The acoustics aren't great. You can hear everyone. - The music only comes from one corner, the kitchen. Several small speakers would make it more pleasant. That would also dampen the noise from other guests. - The benches against the wall aren't very comfortable. Good to know: - The dishes don't come out quickly. With a 5-course dinner, you'll easily spend four hours at the table. All in all, we had a wonderful evening. It was also nice that Chef Yamen stopped by our table to ask us about our experience.

Delicious food but certainly also some negative points. We were with two children, one of whom did not like everything: after consultation she got 8 balls of falafel (good quality) and a dessert. When paying it turned out that they simply charged the 2-course menu price of almost €30,-! Bizarre. The very young service was friendly but had no overview - one of them was very fascinated by his mobile phone and empty glasses + plates did not get the attention they needed. At one point we had to walk over to him to order a drink. Dishes came out of the kitchen very slowly. Only 1.5 hours after entering was there a view of the second course. The acoustics are so bad that we could hardly hear our table companions. Just good food for an amount of €175,- (again: with 2 children) is not enough, the other elements must also be in order for that… Still three stars, the potential is certainly there.

We had a 3 course surprise menu. Everything was equally delicious. Enjoyed special flavors. Crispy warm roll with anise spread beforehand. Deliciously spiced cauliflower on a kind of spicy yoghurt. Main course was well-prepared tender tenderloin with fruity sauce, a coarse 'kind of rice' and fresh salad with mint and radish. The dessert, a kind of baklava (kadaif) with pistachio nuts and delicious ice cream, was a nice ending. Service was young and very friendly. The atmosphere is informal and cozy. Tip: Come a little earlier and ask if you would like something to drink.

Very nice restaurant with tasty food for a small price. We were here with 6 people and had the 5 course menu. The dishes were all very tasty and wonderfully oriental spiced. The cauliflower dish with flatbread was especially fantastic. The chef himself came by afterwards to ask if everything was okay. Location is not really great but the atmosphere was great. It could all be a little more refined, but for this price it was absolutely great. Definitely worth a visit 👍🏼

Another culinary wonder in our own village. Delicious food at "maak met zijn" (make with taste). Starting with fried cauliflower florets in a yoghurt sauce with a Syrian twist. Delicious. The next course was steak on a bed of grilled vegetables with raspberry ketchup. Despite the somewhat tough steak, it was very tasty. Dessert was a special combination of ricotta, cotton candy and cardamom ice cream. Extremely tasty.

A world restaurant in a village. You don't expect this after all the commotion (Zandweg 17) about Wormer. Very nicely decorated and perfectly matched portions. Not too complex but just tasty. At the end of the five courses I went home more than satisfied. You can still see the village atmosphere in the service that gives everyone the right attention (sometimes with difficulty). I hope that chef Yamen continues to maintain the quality and that it continues to grow in appreciation. Not too much of course because I would like to eat there again. Price/quality is more than sufficient!

You wouldn't guess it, I live in Amsterdam with roots in Wormer and was wonderfully surprised at how delicious the food is here. Good service, Passion for food and flavors that you can easily pay double for here in Amsterdam and then this is even tastier. Would have liked to share photos but the food was quickly gone before I took a photo haha.

Tonight we were surprised with a 5-course menu. All dishes were really delicious! The chef has a passion for cooking and makes truly delicious dishes. Every course was truly delicious and leaves you wanting more. We will definitely eat here again! If you want to be surprised, I can definitely recommend it!

Definitely surprising! What a culinary discovery, right in the middle of the Dorpsstraat in Wormer. We had already passed by dozens of times without realizing that Maak met Smaak is a restaurant where an enthusiastic chef cooks delicious meals three days a week and has them served in delicious surprise menus. We chose the vegetarian three-course variant and enjoyed dishes in which our favorite cuisine (Middle Eastern) played a leading role. But the chef gets his inspiration from all over the world, because the meat eaters next to us were enjoying a Thai dish in the meantime. Recommended!

Wij hebben ons 5 gangen laten verassen, En wat waren de gerechten Ontzettend SMAAKVOL EN BIJZONDER VERFIJND. Een echte aanrader als je eens heel wat anders wilt proberen.

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten bij Maak met smaak. De gerechten zijn heerlijk en verrassend. Lekker op smaak. De bediening was gezellig en vertelde gepassioneerd wat of er geserveerd werd. We hebben een hele leuke avond gehad, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Ook leuk dat chef Yamen aan tafel komt voor eventuele vragen en hij geeft uitleg over zijn geserveerde gerechten.

Heerlijk gegeten, leuk zo’n verrassingsmenu plus een extra gerechtje. Kleine porties maar samen ruim voldoende. Informele sfeer, voor de jonge gezellige bediening een tip: als gasten een fles wijn bestellen in een restaurant dan is het leuk als je de fles voor ze opent en het eerste glaasje inschenkt, een gesloten fles op tafel zetten is eigenlijk niet de bedoeling.

Yamen and his team are doing a great job, he is a real artist in the kitchen, we had the best of the Middle Eastern kitchen with surprising combinations. You can trust him to serve you an excellent food surprise, do take the 5 course dinner, unbeatable price and you'll get an unforgettable quality-food experience. It's worth a detour!!!

Wat een heerlijke en verrassende gerechten. Ik heb in tijden niet zo lekker gegeten en ik kom hier zeker nog een keer terug. Naast de lekkere gerechten, ook fijne medewerkers en een leuke locatie. Wat mij betreft dus een echte aanrader.

Een heerlijk en verrassend 5-gangen diner gegeten bij chef Yamen. Wat een bijzondere en uitgekiende gerechten schotelde hij ons voor. Fijne bediening en de chef kwam na afloop aan tafel nog een praatje maken. Topavond en zo'n arrangement is zeker aan te raden!

Super gegeten, alles prima bereid door Chef Yaman die ook nog kwam kijken of alles naar wens was. De gerechten zijn heel gevarieerd en het zullen dingen zijn die je waarschijnlijk nergens anders kan eten. Porties zijn prima en je gaat met een lekker vol gevoel de deur uit. Bediening was super, Chester liet zien dat je heel relaxt de gasten prima kan bedienen. Algeheel was het een heerlijke avond en we komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Verrassend lekker! Ik kom zelf niet verder in de keuken dan aardappels/vlees/groente/pasta/bami/nasi. Maar wat ik hier vanavond heb gegeten is echt verrukkelijk. Alle 5 de gerechten heb ik helemaal van mn bord geschraapt, zo lekker! Verse kruiden en specerijen waarvan ik niet exact weet wat het is, maar uit de arabische keuken. Gekruid, maar niet te pittig. Gewoon super lekker. Verder een keurig en gezellig restaurant. De kok staat de hele avond heel relaxt, maar georganiseerd te koken. De bediening is heel vriendelijk en netjes. Toilet, keuken, zitgedeelte alles was goed verzorgd (schoon, verse roos op tafel etc). Ik woon in Wormer, maar had eerder willen weten dat dit er was. Komen zeker terug!

Een avondvullend 5 gangen diner met zeer smaakvolle, verrassende Arabische gerechtjes in een relaxte sfeer. Leuk dat de chef na afloop langs kwam om te informeren wat we het lekkerste en wat we minder lekker vonden.

Mooi concept, kies een 3, 4 of 5 gangen diner en je laat je verrassen. Het een nog lekkerder dan het andere. Voor mij was het nagerecht echt de uitsmijter. Heerlijk. Fijne bediening en Yamen kwam nog bij iedere tafel even gezellig langs om te horen wat we er van vonden. Top in Wormer

In tijden niet zo lekker gegeten, je weet dat er een goede chef in de keuken staat als -alle- gerechten lekker zijn.

Hele lekkere midden-oosterse gezonde gerechtjes. 5-gangen diner was perfecte hoeveelheid en elk gerechtje was lekker, mooi en verzorgd. Falafel beste die we tot nu toe hebben gegeten. En er is fijne en sympathieke bediening. Sfeervol restaurantje!
