Had delicious ice cream at an unexpected location, definitely a tip to go there once

We enjoyed a delicious high tea. It was nice that it was a little different than usual—no scone, but delicious sweets and even a scoop of ice cream for dessert. It's a cozy place, with friendly service and delicious ice cream.

Coffee with... and that was cut very generously. Delicious, but a lot.

What an unexpected surprise this cozy restaurant on Dorpsstraat in Wormer is. After a bike ride, passing the Zaanse Schans, among other places, we enjoyed a delicious lunch tasting, including the soup of the day. Original and carefully prepared sandwiches, including homemade tuna salad, were delicious.

A real living room. We go there for lunch every week. We've been doing it for over a year now for the surprise lunch. It's always a "surprise." I don't know where the chef/owner gets his recipes, but it's always a surprise.

Delicious food; fast service, good quality! The reason why I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the menu cannot be seen in advance on the website. We would like to view the menus in advance to see if it suits our wishes.

It takes a long time before you are helped. Gluten-free bread is half slices of white bread, this could be better, buns or tasty baguettes are more fun to eat. Toppings on bread are tasty when tasting, but quite expensive for what you get. Big difference with tasting on gluten-rich bread.

Delicious ice cream, friendly service. And also great for lunch outside, or of course during the summer. You can also make reservations with a larger group and you will not be short of anything.

Delicious lunch, this was a small tasting with a soup. Homemade products. They also have freshly made cake and delicious coffee.

Had a great school reunion here with about 25 people. Great service and delicious bites, also remember who ordered which drink. So praise to the service!

Amazing place ( Wormer) in the Netherlands. Superb foods and quality and a very cozy style of luxury lunch / dinner place! Price wise its slightly on the high side, but that's very common in the Netherlands or Europe! But quality and service and atmosphere and hospitality might compensate that

I've recently caught up with the situation at the place I used to frequent regularly, visiting two or three times a week. Typically, I would drop by in the afternoons to enjoy a delightful cup of coffee and a pastry. Occasionally, we'd even indulge in a glass of wine. However, on our most recent visit, the staff treated us horribly. We arrived at around 1:30 in the afternoon, looking forward to our usual coffee and cake combination. The place was moderately crowded, with most patrons coming in for coffee and a sweet treat. Surprisingly, after an hour, the waiter informed us that it had become a "restaurant," implying that we needed to order more substantial food. This was an entirely new and unexpected development for me. Frankly, considering that the most complex culinary offering there is an okay sandwiches, it was baffling to hear it referred to as a restaurant. Regrettably, they've lost a loyal customer in me.

Verrassende ijssmaken en genoeg plaatst om het buiten in de zon te nuttigen.

Prima geregeld.alleen sneden brood te dik voor oudere mensen.

Ondanks dat de Huiskamer aan een drukke straat ligt, heeft de eigenaar er alles aan gedaan om er een gezellige, sfeervolle plek van te maken. Je kunt er buiten ook heerlijk zitten, het eten is heerlijk, maar wel aan de prijzige kant. Voor een broodje warme beenham betaalden we 12,50. De Huiskamer is een plek waar je op warme dagen veel gezinnen treft die een ijsje komen eten. Omdat het terras zodanig is ingericht dat een kind niet zomaar de straat op rent, is het redelijk veilig. De eigenaar en het,bedienend personeel zijn ontzettend aardig. Altijd.

Gezellige plek met echt goed eten, Arno weet wat hij doet. Ook mogelijkheden voor kookworkshops en private dining. En als je langs komt in de zomer...zalig ijs!

Na een fietstocht van 40km hadden we toch wel trek. Maar op een maandag is het lastig ergens iets te kunnen gebruiken. En daar was de Huiskamer, een klein knus restaurant, een pareltje in de omgeving! We hadden een lunch met allemaal verschillend belegde broodjes, elk broodje een verrassing! Elk broodje met liefde en zorg bereid, veelal uit eigen keuken en dat proef je! De lunchproeverij was de € 12,50 meer dan waard! Daarnaast was de bediening supervriendelijk, een echte aanrader dus!!

Trots van 't dorp! Zo fijn om zo een plek te hebben in ons kleine dorpje. Lieve mensen en heerlijk eten!

Zeer ontspannen 'huiskamer'. Ik mocht er zonder problemen een paar uurtjes zitten en werd daarbij ook nog zeer goed benieuwd. De pulled pork is een echt aanrader! Dank jullie wel voor de ontspannen 2 uurtjes werken 👍

Heerlijke menu kaart, er zit altijd iets tussen waar ik trek in heb. Vriendelijk personeel en ze hebben de lekkerste cheesecake EVER.

Wij waren hier voor een feestje, alles was prima geregeld en de bediening was super goed en gezellig. Sfeer lekker huiselijk.

A wonderful old church as a decor for a Christmas dinner, a beautiful singer/songwriter in the background, and of course fine dishes to complete the Christmas atmosphere! That’s the huiskamer!! And you can have a great diner but if the staff sucks there’s nothing left. And that’s where the major points are earned! A real great staff and a good kitchenbrigade made the evening till a Big success!! Till next year!!

From the 27th of July to the 6th of August, the 13th Haarlem Jamborette took place, a scouting event in which members of all nationalities get to meet other scouts and do a great amount of activities. On this particular day, 14 of us where doing a long bicycle ride around the area of Zaanse. The only problem? The weather. 10 minutes into the ride, it was already drizzling but after an hour the rain was coming down hard and consistently, and after another hour of riding through this, all of us were soaking from head to toe and feeling hungry, tired and miserable. After having ridden through the middle of no where for a couple of hours, we started riding into Wormer, which meant we could find some place to have lunch and get dry. We found De Huiskamer which looked warm and cozy from the outside and asked if we could have some sandwiches to eat under the big awning, while we waited for the rain to stop. Arno, the owner of the Dutch Bistro welcomed us in, and when we asked if he didnt mind us making his lovely restaurant wet, he offered his drying machine to dry our clothing. 20 minutes later we were all sitting down around this big long wooden table wearing uniform shirts that he'd given us while our clothing was drying, drinking hot steaming tea (very much appreciated as most of us were British) and delicious tomato soup. We also has sandwiches which were prepared a bit like Spanish "tostas" with one side of bread with tuna or melted cheese or ham on top. Of course, we weren't a very demanding group as any food would've been welcome, but all of it exceeded our expectations: all of it was delicious and tasty and very elegantly served. We all managed to feel a bit more human after the soaking ride and the wind. By the time we had finished, the sun was nearly coming out and we rode back to our camp in high spirits with big fat smiles on our faces and a warm feeling in our hearts. Thank you Arno for your hospitality, we are all so glad people like you still exist. Hopefully we will come back one day, dry and on a sunny day to properly enjoy your lovely restaurant
